I only find the step for Analyzer 6, and the file and folder are different

Analyzer Service Problem

We are having a problem with the Analyzer Service freezing up. This server has been running for several months with no problem. We have not had an increase in traffice, but now after an hour to an hour and a half, the Service locks up, has to be forced closed and restarted. We reinstalled the software, rebooted, etc. Server is Win2000, Essbase 6.5, Analyzer 5.0.3. Any suggestions?

We had a similar problem with the same version of Analyzer. We were on a different version of Essbase though. If you are using the standard repository Borland I think, it might help. Contact Hyperion support and have them give you there repository compression utility. They (hyperion) were never able to tell us exactly what the problem was but we run the little utility once a month and we haven't the problem since. The utility is quick, it only takes a few minutes to run. If you can't get it from them let me know and I can try to get it to [email protected]

Hyperion Analyzer installation in windows vista

BEx Analyzer, Office 2007, Windows XP Issue

I am having a problem getting BEx Analyzer to work with Office 2007 on my Windows XP machine.
Configuration:
Windows XP SP2 with all Windows updates
SAPGui 7.10 with Patch 2
Office 2007
SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 Stack 12
According to the <a href="http://https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000676672&">BEx Compatibility of MS Operating Systems and Office Products</a> my configuration should work. I am able to start BEx Analyzer and select a query to open, but then it fails on the load. I get the following error:

Please check to make sure that you are on the correct support package.
For Microsoft Office and Vista support, you need to be on SAP NetWeaver support package stack 12, which is equivalent to SAP NetWeaver BI support package 13.

Hyperion Analyzer/Reports using Windows 7 and I.E. 8

Is there anyone in the user community is currently using Windows 7 operating system and Internet Explorer 8 successfully with the current versions of Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5.4 and Reports 7.2.5.3?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

Does anyone know if Analyzer 7.0 works with Windows Server 2003?Analyzer 7.0.1 is supported on Windows Server 2003 but I read in another post that I will need to get a license to use DB2...Thanks!

Query Analyzer crash on Windows CE 6.0 smart device

Hi,
I have a SQL Compact 3.5 database located on a device running Windows CE 6.0. I installed all the required .CAB:
sqlce.dev.ENU.wce5.armv4i.CAB
sqlce.wce5.armv4i.CAB
sqlce.repl.ppc.wce5.armv4i.CAB
NETCFv2.wce5.armv4i.cab
An application running on the device can connect to the database, everything is fine. But when I try to open the SDF file on the device, I get an error: Application isqlw35.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down. I reinstalled all the .CAB and
nothing changed.
Also, when I try to do a database repair and compact, from SSMS, it throws an error on the device: a native exception has occured in tdsserver35.exe
How can I fix this problem?

[Oracle BPM 6.0.2 - formerly ALBPM 6.0.2] Error using BAM Updater Service

Hi All -
I'm getting a similar error to the one below (posted byFabricio Soares) when the BAM updates service is working. We are using ALBPM 6.0.2 alongwith Oracle OID / LDAP (integrated using a custom FDI plugin).
Any idea what could cause this problem? I've verified the BAM configuration - and the database tables exist (though are empty...).

I've received a reply from the support guys at BEA:
I just got notified from several other engineers , here at the labs , that there’s an issue on the installer itself . The BUG report has been already filed .
In the meantime the only alternative is to install ALBPM Studio 6.02 from scratch , with the following considerations :
- Uninstall
- Make sure that the directory had been fully erased
- Reboot the machine
- Install ALBPM 6.02
- Apply the latest Hotfix

and you don't choose the DB-Service stuff
you can put in a service written by yourself.
Can you?
Which interfaces do I have to implement.

Service is just a group of sessions. I will try to explain as basic as possible.
For example You have 2 Applications, Accounting and Reporting applications, You want to separate them, separate their resources, statistics or connection methods.
For example on single instance, we will create (using dbms_service.create_service) two services ACCOUNT.SERVICE and REPORT.SERVICE, then we can
use them in the resource manager, we can assign jobs to the services, we can check any statistics service based, for example for which event class Accounting application
waits maximum time, i/o or concurrency? We can select from v$service_wait_class where service_name=ACCOUNT.SERVICE. Everything in the 10g can be analyzed service based,
you also for example can trace Reporting application by tracing REPORT.SERVICE service using dbms_monitor.serv_mode_act_trace_enable procedure.
We need all Accounting application sessions to connect to ACCOUNT.SERVICE, then in connection descriptor of this application we use SERVICE_NAME=ACCOUNT.SERVICE, and
we can check then from v$session where service_name='ACCOUNT.SERVICE', there will be sessions that are connected from Accounting application. Reporting application will use SERVICE_NAME=REPORT.SERVICE in connect descriptor, and we will identify them in database by selecting from v$session where service_name='REPORT.SERVICE'.

I do not believe Analyzer 7 is compatible with Vista.
I tried installing Essbase on Vista and it was a miserable failure. I did, finally, get it to install and run but certain operations, particularly metadata queries (to fill picklists) performed very poorly (for example, 5 to 10 seconds to return a list of 5 members). I punted and had the laptop rebuilt with XP.

This message has resolved my query by setting a larger MAX_PROPERTY_VALUE_LENGTH to "30"Thanks.I have come across this problem before. If it is the same problem it is to do with the length of your calc scripts. Obviously Essbase calc scripts are stored as .csc files, if these are too big Analyzer can't read them. This issue is caused by the ADM layer that Analyzer uses. Search on the server for a file called adm.properties .You should find the file in the following directory \\hyperion\analyzer\adm\lib .You may find you have more than one copy on the Server in which case edit them all. In the file find a string called MAX_PROPERTY_VALUE_LENGTH. You will find this is currently to 4 (this respresents 4kb). Increase the value to say 20. Sorry, I fixed the error on the Wiki page. Currently we can only offer the download of the 32 bit Windows version. We are however discussing to put the current version out as plugins ZIP and hopefully on an update server, as well.
For now, please have a look at our Wiki which describes how to create your own installation based on the plugins stored in the installer:

DPC spike at Windows automatic maintenance startup. Can not leave the computer alone processing real-time streams.

This is what happens when I leave the computer idle for a while and the Windows automatic maintenance starts:

This high Deferred Procedure Call (DPC) latencies are usually caused by certain drivers, if it is caused by automatic maintenance, please re-check your task schedule which is marked as “when computer is idle”. As what has been suggested by MVP ZigZag, please
use the Microsoft Windows Performance Analyzer from the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) to identify the cause of any DPC latency spikes.

DPC CPU Usage Summary Table will open containing a list of drivers/program. This list is already correctly sorted (by the Actual Duration column). The process on the very top of the list is therefore likely to be the cause of your problem.
