Animate/mask text in FW MX 2004?

The reason I'm not using flash for this is because the media
placement is not accepting swfs. Yech. So animated gif it is.
I would like to achieve the following:
Have a sentence appear from left to right, to the entire
sentence, revealing itself as an object moves across it.
I've tried creating a box symbol, animating it over the text
then trying to mask it, all to no avail... any suggestions would be
incredibly helpful.

Not sure what you mean by "real text", but here's how I did
it.
There was NO masking. lol.
Created my file.
Imported the image to be used
I drew a rectangle vector shape
Typed my text
Converted my text to paths
Ungrouped the text
went to MODIFY > COMBINE PATHS > JOIN
Selected both paths (text on top)
Went to MODIFY > COMBINE PATHS > PUNCH
Selected the image, and set the X position so that it was off
the canvas
at the left
Went to MODIFY > ANIMATION > ANIMATE SELECTION and set
my movement
options (width of canvas)using 20 frames (less will save file
size, but
the animation may be jerky)
Cropped the file, optimized as an animated GIF, with 64
colors (again,
fewer colors will reduce file size
Exported the file

  • How do I highlight text in Dreamweaver MX 2004

HI to all Dreamweaver extension Forum Participants:
    HI to anyone:
I posted a question on how do I highlight text in Dreamweaver MX 2004, to both the Dreamweaver Development Toolbox General Discussion Forum and the Dreamweaver Extension Forum on Tuesday, 6/16/2009 or Wednesday, 6/17/2009, saying this:
    HI Anyone:
I have looked under Help and Tutorials in Dreamweaver MX 2004, and I am having a heck of a time finding out how to highlight text in Dreamweaver MX 2004.
Do any of you know how to do this actually in Dreamweaver MX 2004?  Say I wanted to highlight this text, all in Yellow:
    This is sample highlighted text.
    How would I do it?
    Thank you,

And I got this response from pziecana, in the Dreamweaver Development Toolbox General Discussion:
Re: How do I highlight text in Dreamweaver MX 2004
The simplest way is to use a span and set a background-color for the text you wish to highlight.
    e.g.
    <span class="graybg">This is some text</span>
    css for above -
    .graybg{
       backgroung- color: #666666;
This would give you a gray background.

I tried both, and neither worked.  Any other ideas on how to do this?  I cannot believe it is so hard to do this in Dreamweaver MX 2004, highlighting text.  I'm even enclosing an attachment showing how I did this in the <span class="graybg">This is some text</span> above.
    Thank you,

    HI PZ:
    Here is the new Code:

I'm trying to highlight this text in yellow or gray.
Can anyone help me with this?

    This is some highlighted text
But I still don't see any of the text higlighted in gray in the browser?
What's up with that?  Man, Dreamweaver is so hard to get to highlight text -
GOOD GRIEF, Why can't Adobe make it easy?  What a Pain!!!
Go to http://promoterpower.com/test.html, and you will see what I mean about
any of the text being highlighted.

  • Rotating and Centering Masked Text

I'm in the process of creating a textual watermark for my photos in photoshop but have come across a big problem. I am using the horizontaly text mask tool but I cannot rotate nor center (both horizontally and vertically) my text before turning it into a layer. If I  rotate and center the text after putting it into a new layer it wont work since the text will move and leave the writing embossed onto the picture. Any help is kindly appreciated !

Do not use Mask Text use a Text layer set its fill to 0 and give it a layer style.

  • Mask text

I'm trying to mask text in flash CS3 but I don't know why it
doesn't work. I can mask images and movie clips without text, but
text alone or inside a movie clip doesn't work. nothing appears.
    What could be wrong??

    Pau,
Make sure you embed the text into the field.

  • How do you animate writing text (Handwriting)?

i have a graphics tablet and wish you animate writing a title for a production i have completed. When I try to write the text using the brush tool the text writes but as soon as i lift my pen off the tablet the character disappears making it very difficult to see what i am doing.
Anyone know a simple technique to achieve this?
    Thanks.

The reason its disappearing is because by default the paint tool is set up with the 'write on' behaviour. You can change this in the HUD. Its not easy to write fluidly using a tablet, but its certainly possible, and as you can adjust the paths after you finish writing you can always clean up your handwriting after. I suggest doing one word at a time though!
Otherwise, another way (not as sexy, but perhaps more reliable) would be to write on paper, scan in your writing, turn into a B/W Tif file, autotrace in Illustrator, and using the script from Motionsmarts to convert Illustrator paths to Motion Shapes.

  • I want to animate the text colour from red to blue in after effects cs 6. please tell me how to do that

i am using adobe after effects cs 6
    intel core i3 3120 3.3ghz processor
    12gb ram
    nvidia geforce gt 630 graphics

Open up the text layer properties, add an animator>Fill Color, choose type, HUE usually works better for subtle changes but you can animate one or all color properties.  Set keyframes for range selector to change individual letters or words or color to change everything.

  • Animation no longer animates the text

I'm using MS XP and Premiere Elements 12.   I use the title function quite often for creating slide shows and movie clips.   Recently,  the text will not animate when I try to use the animate tab.   "Apply" is grey so does not allow me to apply the animation I chose.   Any ideas?

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings; will not erase any data, just resets network connections such as wifi, and cellular data; Hope this helps.

  • How do I mask text across layers to an image at bottom layer?

I have several layers of text which I want to mask to a bottom layer, which is a moving image.
The text layers appear in sequential chronological order to make a sentence (and I need them on several layers for positioning). The first word's mask works great, but none of the other texts/masks end up showing as they are on lower layers and are being masked
I also want the masked out area to be black.
I am attaching an image which shows what I want, but imagine each word is on a different layer, show up sequentially, and are surrounded by black.
    Thanks!

Use text animators to reveal your text. Use the text layer as a track matte for the video. All that is required is two layers.
If you insist on having each word on a separate layer, precompose your animated text layers and then use the pre-comp as an alpha track matte for your video.
    These are AE basics.

  • Photoshop Animation with Transform: Can i Animate *MASK-Transformation* continuously?

Hello, i edit software video tutorials on the Photoshop timeline*. Sometimes i want to zoom into a screen area and show the action there enlarged.
Let's say my tutorial explains Photoshop's layer techniques. The screen cast shows the whole Photoshop workspace including the layer panel. Now in the tutorial, i want to zoom into the layer panel with 200 %, so that viewers see the mouse action and thumbnails there better, while still a good part of the workspace including the image is visible (so you get the enlarged layer panel and see how it affects the image). To zoom smoothly into the layer panel area,
i make a smart object of the footage,
duplicate it into a new video group,
create a vector mask around the layer panel (my area of interest),
start the Transform stop watch on the time line
move the timeline cursor half a second further and
transform the layer to 200 % (using pixel replication)
In the result, the screencast itself is nicely zoomed into. But the mask is never zoomed – it is either one size or the other, and there's no difference whether using vector masks or layer masks (i prefer vector masks of course).
I see that there are more stop watches for
    - vector mask position
    - vector mask active
But they don't help and i don't fully understand them. I read a lot and saw some tutorials, but still don't understand the situation.
Is it possible or not that the mask is contuinuously scaled larger and smaller together with the footage itself?
By the way, i know how to show an enlarged screen area without the zooming-in. I can simply fade in. That works nicely. But i would love to show the zooming-in.
Or should i do that kind of work in another application altogether?
Thanks for any clues (or links) you might give me!
*aware that there are other solutions, but usually works well for me

You did not look down far enough. Below them are some layers in blue (or other solid color) Twirl down the one that says 3D Meshes. Click on the small stopwatch for the object move your playhead ahead in time then rotate your mesh. The easiest way to rotate the mesh is using the text fields in the mesh's properties.

  • Bullets do not hold in text sections of PP 2004 under Mac OS 10.6

I have been posting elsewhere without any luck so hoping to get some help here.
In my template I have set it up that if I open a new slide it is set to have bullets.
However, if I remove the bullet from the first line and leave it for the others, it will be back next time I open the show.
If I remove them from all lines it is the same.
If I set my template to be without bullets it works in a singe text field in a slide, but if I create a slide with two text fields the bullets disappear after opening again.
Old shows seem to not be effected. New ones are.
Any help is appreciated as I need to use this show in the next few days and it looks a mess either way.
    Thanks

  • How do you animate basic text in FlashDevelop?

I need a text to be sliding on the Y axis but i cannot seem to figure out the code for it?
    Any ideas?

start a loop (like enterframe) and repeatedly update the textfields position:
    var tf:TextField=new TextField();
    addChild(tf);
    tf.text="whatever";
    someobjectwithanenterframeevent.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,enterframeF);
    function enterFrameF(e:Event):void{
    tf.y+=3;
    if(tf.y>whatever){
tf.y=0;  // or terminate the loop

  • Tracking and Masking  Text

    How do i do this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sJFGDpUdgA
Is there a tutorial out there ??
    Hope for help
    Jacob

So as to hide something behind your talent in a shot you need to do Rotoscoping.
See this tutorial from Todd_Kopriva about how to do Motion Tracking and Rotoscoping within AE.
See this tutorial from Mathias Möhl about using his Tracker2Mask script to simplify and speed up your rotoscoping.
See this tutorial about rotoscoping with Mocha.
You may either duplicate your footage and use rotoscoping data to cover some part of the object (text) in between
or create a shape matte (e.g. export Shape Date instead of Tracking Data out of Mocha and apply them onto a Solid) and use its inverted alpha channel to hide some part of the object (text)
See more help about Rotoscoping and Masking

  • How to animate 3D text

This is a issue sI am having, anyone come across this?
Our computer platform: Mac OS 10.10
    Photoshop/Lightroom version: Photoshop CC 2014
I am trying to animate 3D extruded letters.  I had previously done this on PS 6 extended without issues.
Now when I split the extrusion, I can select the individual letters without an issue.  I can get them on the timeline without a problem.  When I try to roll them around a coordinate axis, they go randomly shooting off in different direction.  I have tried this by manipulating the coordinates directly and also the visual tool.  Both of this yield the same weird behavior.
I have reset my preferences and even uninstalled and reinstalled PSCC14
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

Have you ever found the solution to this problem?
I'm having the same issue...works fine in CS6 but not in CC 2014.

  • Animate mask

I got two pictures, the one on top is in color, the other is in black/white.
I got a symbol that I want to use as a mask. When this symbol moves over the picture, I want it to show the picture underneath it.
I need my symbol to be attached to the mouse, so the mouse will reveal the underlying picture (this is going to be a banner.)
I couldn't find any guides for this, as I am not sure what to search on (I could only find guides for "normal" mask animation, and not anything on how to "burn a hole" in a picture).
    Thanks in advance.
Edit: Another question: How do I tell flash, so load a random image, but in pairs of two? (on their own layer, as I still want the mask effect) Since I got pictures of 5 different places, one in black/white and one in color  of each place (10 pictures in total), but I want them to appear as a pair (to get this "burn through layer effect"), but random, if you know what I mean?

I know the title is confusing. When I started the post I wanted to do both a 10 second animation, and create an interactive banner. But I figured out the first thing on my own. I'll wait with my added question then
Ok, I'll try to be more specific. I got this symbol (this is what I want as my mask - and this is what I want to replace my mouse).
This is the picture shown in my banner. When I mouseover (with my giant "enter symbol") I want it to reveal the black/white photo you see beneath. So I figured I needed to create some kind of shape mask (because when I make a symbol out of my enter arrow, the mask will only become a square).

  • Simple question: masking text in flex

I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious on this, so
forgive me if I have, but is there a way to set the background
color on text? A label or a text field don't seem to allow you to
change the background color. So far the only way I can figure out
to do it is put a label or text field within a tile of the color I
want, which is cumbersome and difficult to size the way I want etc.
    Is there an easier way?

I think you can use the opaqueBackground property on a label
    to make it
opaque and then I _think_ you can set backgroundColor on it,
    even though
    this isn't documented.
