Annotations in Mail

I just moved to Mail from Eudora. There I had the possibility to annotate received messages - which I did a lot, comments, actions to take etc.
There doesn't seem to be such a function in Mail. Is there a way aroud this limitation?

Yes, it does allow comments; I use it for just that purpose.

    I have an Annotated PDF from Preview will not display annotations in iPad mail, yet, it will display them on my Macbook Air. I confirmed this with another iPad user. Same results. Any ideas.

    I had the same issue. iAnnotate PDF will display your annotations made in preview and allow you to annotate on the iPad. It is a great app, I and quite happy with it.

  • Adding text annotation in Preview.app

    Preview in Leopard seems to be missing the ability to add text annotation to a pdf like in Tiger. Yeah, I know annotations can appear to the left side of the pdf, but I want them right on the document.
    Anybody see how to add text directly to a pdf with Preview in Leopard?

    Yes Preview is really messed up. I can't find anyway to print a copy of my pdf WITH annotations showing up. And the bookmark implementation is absolutely nuts.
    In Acrobat you can bookmark pages in a document so that you can later
    easily find your way around a very large document. In Preview, it
    appears that they have added this feature but it works very
    differently. The bookmarks are more akin to bookmarks in Safari.
    They exist outside of the pdf and they stay in your bookmarks menu
    even when another document is open. This is. . . really odd. As yet
    I have not found a way to tell Preview to just show me the bookmarks
    for the open document. After you have added 10 or 20 bookmarks to 2
    or more documents, the bookmarks menu quickly becomes useless. Also,
    b/c the bookmarks are not stored inside the .pdf, they do not transfer
    to Acrobat if you mail the document to someone else.
    Whoever worked on this project did not see to know much about .pdf documents or how they are used in the real world.

  • Custom formatting of JDK 5 (1.5) annotations

    Hi,
    I'd like to customise the way I format a JDK 5 annotation in the generated javadocs
    Lets say I have the following Class, with a custom annotation @Referencing:
    @Referencing("AW00189")
    public class FooBar {
       // body of class
    }Now, what I'd like to have in my javadoc is a link to some internal documentation with the anchor AW000189. So I'd have the following javadoc:
    public class FooBarextends java.lang.Object
    Since:
    29 Feb 2008
    Author:
    Joe Soap
    References:
    http://some.internal.url/path#AW000189
    How do I go about customizing the format of 1.5 Annotations?
    Thanks,
    Justin

    Hi Justin,
    I think, there is no way to do such a customization with the standard Javadoc (i.e. powered by the Standard Doclet).
    After all, the job of the standard Javadoc is doing standard (general) things and I just cannot imagine any general rule (setting or option) that would embrace all kinds of possible customizations about displaying of annotations.
    So, the only way in your situation would be to modify the doclet itself. You can try tweaking the standard doclet: overload some its classes or change sources (according to the license they provide). However, I just can say, that way proved to have lots of limitations.
    Fortunately, I could suggest you a different rote that would allow you solving your problem in a few minutes. We have a product called "DocFlex/Javadoc":
    http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_javadoc/
    This is a highly customizable Javadoc doclet. More exactly, this is a system for rapid development of professional quality doclets (with the support of both framed/single-file HTML and RTF output).
    With that tool, the generation of every sort of Javadoc output is programmed in special templates (using graphic Template Designer). The product is provided with the "standard template set" that generates the HTML Java API documentation very similar to the standard Javadoc.
    In fact, to solve you task, you will need to modify a subtemplate called "annotations.tpl". See on this page: http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_javadoc/templates.php
    If you are interested about all this, we could help you to modify the necessary template absolutely free. Then, you will need only to buy a full product license to have everything work without limitations and that will be all!
    So, if you are interested, please let us know by sending a e-mail to the address found on this page:

  • How do I change the default PDF viewer on my iPad so I can easily see annotations?

    I keeping missing annotations on PDF because the built-in iPad Mail viewer does not show annotations.  To limit the keystrokes, instead of  using "open with" on each PDF email attachment to view in a third part app, I'd like to just change the mail default viewer. Is that possible with the current iPad operating systems?

    No it is not possible to change the default pdf viewer in mail.

  • Can't use the "send by e-mail" button on forms created in Acrobat Pro 9 with Firefox

    I created a form in Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 with a "send by e-mail" button as usual (not using LiveCycle Designer). Since a few months, users cannot send forms using that button USING FIREFOX works fine in Explorer. I've been creating and using those forms since 2 years whitout any problems but now this is A BIG PROBLEM for our office as all our reservation forms uses this technology.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. create a form using Acrobat Pro. add an action button " send a form". send the Entire PDF form not just FDF. go in advance tool to give all rights to end-users (in French it's "étendre les fonctions d'adobe reader" I think it’s enable the usage rights for Reader ion English.)
    2.publishing the form on my website (or send by e-mail to someone who use reader)
    3. filling the form
    Results:
    when the user fill the form he can't send it by e-mail using the button. Nothing happens when hitting that button. It is not possible to save the document as well. Nothing can be done, not even printing or saving it. I've tried almost all browsers I know and nothing works.
    Expected results:
    the form should be send by e-mail (as an attachment in general) like before. please help me! this is really important, our office have a lot of calls and we are just 2 people here (non-profit organization). should we buy Acrobat Pro X ?
    I can send you the form, my e-mail is rgelinas at canadianclub-montreal dot ca
    thanks all!

    When your customers opened the PDF form (which was as an email attachment) on iPads, it is highly likely that Apple Mail (not Adobe Reader for iOS) was displaying the preview of the PDF form.   Please note that Apple products on iPad/iPhone (e.g. Apple Mail, iBooks, Safari) do not render field contents or annotations (sticky notes, highlight, underline, strikeout, freehand drawing, etc.) in PDF documents.
    The Mail sections of the following FAQ documents describe how to open PDF attachments in Adobe Reader for iOS.
    For iPad, see How to get PDF documents into Adobe Reader for iOS (iPad on iOS 7 version)
    For iPhone, see How to open PDF documents in Adobe Reader for iOS (iPhone on iOS 7 version)

  • Override JNDI names in persistence.xml and @resource annotation

    I have a Java EE 7 application that I am developing for use with both GlassFish and WildFly, but I have discovered that both application servers use a slightly different format for specifying JNDI names.
    In GlassFish the persistence.xml file references the data source jdbc/myDataSouce, but in WildFly the data source needs to be java:/jdbc/myDataSource.The same is also true for classes that are annotated with @Resource. In GlassFish the annotation for a class using JavaMail would be @Resource(name = "mail/myMailSession"), but to deploy onto WildFly this would need to be @Resource(name = "java:mail/myMailSession").
    The only solution I've got at present is using Maven to create two different releases of the EAR file, with one EAR file containing a persistence.xml file with the data source jdbc/myDataSouce for use with GlassFish, and the second EAR file containing a persistence.xml file with the data source java:/jdbc/myDataSource for use with WildFly. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution for the @Resource annotation.
    I've taken a look at the documentation for glassfish-application.xml and glassfish-ejb-jar.xml and have tried using resource-ref to override the JNDI names but the application fails to deploy due to an error in the name.
    My question is does GlassFish provide any capability to override the JNDI names specified in the persistence.xml file and classes with the @resource annotation?
    Many Thanks
    Paul

    Have you been able to solve this? I'm attempting to understand what Web Server 7 can do with regard to Java Persistence and what elements of it require Glassfish.
    I've also spent great amounts of time in WS6.1 trying to figure out why a JNDI resource couldn't be found. The rules of thumb I've learned are:
    - Try dropping the *'java:/comp/env/* prefix; just use jdbc/pact part
    - Make sure all referrences (in web.xml and sun-web.xml) are identical with regard to that name.
    I'm hoping you're not still dealing with this (it's been two months!) but if anybody else stumbles on this, maybe it'll help them.

  • Send XML File as attachement in Mail Receiver adapter

    Hi all,
    i have the following scenario. i would like to read an XML file from the file system and send this file as an attachement of a mail to a mail receiver specified in this file.
    i would like to fill the payload of the mail with some information from the xml file and in addition i would like to send the complete xml file as an mail attachement.
    can anybody tell me, how the mail receiver adater needs to be specified ?
    best regards,
    martin

    Hey,
    you can go for dynamic configuration of mail adapter.
    In this you need to import a mail structure.
    mail details such as to, from, subject and content of the mail are a part of the structure.
    In your ID check the Use Mail package and also keep attachments.
    Now you can give your details in mapping itself.
    whatever you want to map in the content of the mail, map it in the content field.
    also your file will behave as an attachment.
    refer to this blog.
    this is the mail structure. Import it as extenal definitions.

  • Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
    Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
    The following XML message is my source
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Somenamespace">
       <ns0:Message1>
          <ns1:studentlisttest xmlns:ns1="urn:karthiksender_to_karthikreceiver">
             <Student>
                <studentid>1</studentid>
                <lastname>Studentlastname</lastname>
                <firstname>Studentfirstname</firstname>
             </Student>
             <Mail>
                <From>[email protected]</From>
                <To>[email protected]</To>
                <Subject>Test mail adapter</Subject>
             </Mail>
          </ns1:studentlisttest>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
    I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
    I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?
    Thanks
    Karthik

    hi,
    I still have not found the solution for this problem. Michal, your blog works fine when my source message has got only the mail details. As per your advice, I tried modified the structure of the xsd file as follows
    <xs:schema targetNamespace="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30"

  • How do I save the text I have typed in a PDF file in Adobe, then mail it.

    How do I save text that I have typed in a PDF file in adobe and then mail it
    Currently goes through without text

    You don't have to do anything special to save text you type as an annotation or in a form. What's probably confusing you is that if you view the PDF within iOS apps like Mail, it appears the text you typed disappeared. However, when you view the PDF file in Acrobat or Reader on Mac, Windows or other platform, the text is there. (It's a limitation of the native iOS PDF viewers.)
    If you've updated to the newest version of Reader, you should also get a dialog offering the choice between "Share Original Document" and "Share Flattened Copy". The dialog explains the difference between the options.

    The add annotations field shows as not allowed in the security options. So how do I send this form back with the changes??

    I think you you need to click 'save' first, then it is saved to acrobat, where it will prompt to send.

  • Restrict E-mail sender in the Mail sender communication channel.

    Hi All,
            My scenerio customers want to Email with attachment to PI server. I've successfull tested this scenerio without one open issue. Right now anyone having email id can send mail to PI server.
    I want to restrict the senders list. Is this possible in the sender Mail adapter configuration.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Its possible.
    You need to configure 2 receiver
    1)MailA
    2)MAILB
    in receiver determination.
    then you need to route it based on Subject using condition in receiver determination.
    Use the below XSD to create your sender mail message type
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

    and use mail package in sender mail adapter.
    Then your mail will come in XI in the above format.
    then based on subject field you can conditionaly determine the receiver.
    Message Protocol
    u25CF      XIALL
    In this mode, the content of the RF C822 e-mail matches the content of the XI message. The XI message is a multipart MIME message with a SOAP envelope as its first part. See also: Messages, under XI Message Protocol.
    u25CF      XIPAYLOAD
    In this mode, the content of the e-mail is put in the payload of the XI message. If you do not set the Use Mail Package indicator, the information about the sender (From), receiver (To), and subject of the e-mail is lost.

  • Transfer annotated PDF in review from MacBook Pro to iPad?

    I have annotated a PDF file in the review app on my MacBook Pro. The question is; how do I transfer/send that PDF file to my iPad where I can still see my annotations? I tried to e-mail the PDF file to myself, but when I open it on my iPad it does not show my annotations. Any ideas?

    Two ideas come to mind:
    1.  iBooks -  You might consider dragging your PDF to the Books section of iTunes and then syncing your iPad.  The document should then show up in the PDF section of iBooks on your iPad.  Your posting suggests you don't have very current software (as it lists OS X 10.6.8 instead of the current 10.8.2), but maybe that will work for you.  The price is certainly right.
    2.  PDFPen - This is an app for manipulating PDF documents.  There is a Mac version and a separate iPad version.  That would certainly solve your issue, but it's not free.

  • I want to add a graphic signature in mail that contains hyperlinks.  Can this be done?

    I've created an e mail footer/signature in Illustrator, chooped it up into slices, inserted slices into the signature window within Mail and have added links to some of these slices.
    But that's where things go wrong.  The slices are all over the show, and the hyperlinks do not work.  This also have to work accross Mac and PC platforms which is proving impossible and i'm just about at a loss.
    Has anyone done this before and have any tips as to how to achieve a professional looking e mail signature that can contain hyperlinks.
    THANKS

    Hi. I wonder if there is any way to use a PC as a node to Logic 8, or, for example, send audio from my Mac (Logic) into a PC (with a VST host) and back into Logic via Ethernet. I guess the wormhole was supposed to do this, but I hear it doesn't work
