Annoying firewire bug

I've seen this bug since version 1.0, and it still hasn't been fixed as of 1.4.2 (and engineering does know about it). On my main MDC, whenever I mount a firewire drive, and then dismount it and power it off, xsan admin becomes unresponsive (getting information loop) when I try to connect to the MDC from any machine on the network. Only way to fix this is to reboot the MDC.
Does anyone know of a way to reset the xsan admin processes without having to reboot the machine entirely?

My iTunes does as you say, I never noticed it before. The problem does not occur when you edit in get info.

Annoying font bug in EM

Good morning,
I am pretty sure this isn't the right place to report bugs but, since I do not have a Metalink account, hopefully someone that is an Oracle paying customer will do what I cannot.
EM has a simple but very annoying bug: it does not use a fixed font to display the output logs (of a job for instance). This results in output like this: (which looks even worse as a post in the forum than it does in the EM window)

which gives the impression that there are 13301 corrupt blocks in the file examined (not the kind of thing a DBA wants to see). I doubt I have to point out how cumbersome reading this unformatted output is.
However, using a fixed font, the very same output would look like this:

1 OK 0 13301 88325 1458980 which now shows that there are 13301 empty blocks (much better news than before). The problem, as we all know is, EM is using a proportional font when it should be using a fixed font such as Courier New.
This trivial little bug substantially subtracts from the usefulness of EM to review logs.

Annoying messages bug when using mass storage to s...

As you all well know the c: drive on n97 is quite small. I have about +2000 messages on my phone and I use the 32gb mass storage to store all of my emails and sms's.
It works ok untill I connect my phone to pc using mass storage mode. The first thing it does is it says e: drive unavailable - using c: to store messages. Ok - that makes sense BUT the darn thing doesn't switch back to using e: drive when I unplug it from the computer. Instead I have to switch it back to e: manually (from sms settings and email settings). It's also impossible to move messages that I have received while using mass storage mode to the drive e:
I really hope that nokia does sth about this matter. It's the single most annoying bug that this phone has.

To answer a few questions here...
The way the mass memory is broadcast to the computer when connected in PC Suite mode is called "OBEX". It's a kind of file transfer protocol. When it's connected in "mass storage" mode it uses an industry standard usb-storage protocol exactly like pen drives, external hard drives, external CD/DVD drives etc.
The difference between the two is that in mass storage mode, the phone relinquishes control of the storage space and hands it over to the host computer. That way, the computer sees everything on that device and it also happens to be compatible with more or less every operating system under the sun. In PC Suite mode, the phone retains control of the storage space and decides what to let the computer "see". Directories that are crucial to the phone's operation, such as "private" and "system", are not shown to the computer. Added to that, the computer needs specific drivers to be able to use the OBEX protocol, and this excludes non-mainstream operating systems.
As for being able or unable to transfer messages from one area to the other, the reason is fairly simple. Messages are stored in their own directory inside the "private" directory. If, for example, there's no such directory set up on E: when you want to choose that drive for storing messages, the phone considers that it has never been used for this and therefore asks you if you want to copy your messages from C: to E: so that they're still available to you once you switch over. If, OTOH, there is already a trace of E: having been used for storing messages (ie. if the messaging directory inside E:\Private does exist) then the phone considers that you might not want to clobber what's already there and doesn't offer to replace them with what's on C:.

Annoying iTunes bug

I've come across an annoying bug with iTunes. This was introduced about 2 or 3 versions ago, and it still present in 7.5.
If you press F2 to edit the name of a song inline and press the 'Delete' key (not backspace), this deletes the character in front of the cursor and completes the edit (as if you pressed return). It should not complete the edit!
Has anyone else come across this problem? I'm using Windows XP. I'm not sure how to report this problem to Apple, but I'd like to see it fixed in a future version. It definitely worked about 3 or 4 versions ago.

Unbelievably annoying iTunes bug STILL in iTunes 9 =(

The ONE thing I was looking forward to most in iTunes 9 was a bug fix to a very, very annoying issue that I've sent in time and time and time again...... and the bug is still there!
If you type in a search scope in the iTunes player, and use the mini player (previously by clicking the green + icon, now by selecting the Mini Player option under View - another problem I have with iTunes 9 but that's for a whole new topic), and then hit the forward (skip) button a few times... all of a sudden music from your entire library starts playing. The search field is cleared.
How hard would this be to fix??? Come on, a big, revolutionary break through iTunes update and this crippling bug from iTunes 7 is still there?

I just tried it and the problem did not occur for me. I did a search for a particular artist which turned up a list of 56 tracks, started the list playing, switched to the miniplayer, then clicked the skip button repeatedly. The search never cleared and the main library never appeared. So it doesn't appear to be a bug that affects all installations, anyway.
Perhaps it's your library file that's at fault, not iTunes itself.

[x86_64] Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne annoying resolution bug

I just reinstalled my Arch, was i686 and is now x86_64.
Before the change, I had War3 Frozen Throne installed via Playonlinux and everything worked fine.
But since the reinstall, I have this strange bug: when I launch the game and am in the menu, if I move my cursor to the right, the screen begins moving to the left as soon as it is near the menu, as if the resolution wasn't the one I see.
I tried:
- several resolutions, but nothing changes.
- opengl option in the launcher, and the resolution is larger than the screen, so I understand why it moves to the left when I move my cursor further than the screen border. And if I choose a smaller resolution, it's as if it zommed in o_O
- uninstall/reinstall of the game, last game patch or the install version (which is the download version from my battle.net account)
Does anyone have an idea about what is going on ?

i think the lib32 libs are broken, but thats my oppinion. i posted also in the german forums, but there is no solution for it yet. with gentoo 64bit, same configuration, i do not have this problem (so i am using gentoo now).
please try the following:
install a 32bit chroot, xorg + wine inside the chroot and run warcraft inside the chroot.
are you using nvidia-drivers? which card do you have?

PS CC 2014.1 annoying UI bug

2014.1 seems to have introduced a UI bug in the form of a permanent thick blue button mode outline in save dialogs.
See this screenshot.
Note the blue outline around "None". This used to be much thinner, and should move to the various radio buttons upon hitting tab on the keyboard. Hitting tab doesn't move it, nor does hitting tab select the next radio button. It's stuck there. This only seems to happen in Save dialogs.
Running Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.4. This issue only appeared after updating CC a couple of days ago.

It's a bug that was introduced with some changes we made under the hood. We opted to spend our time fixing the functional bugs that were also introduced, and this one didn't make the cut for this release since it's cosmetic and able to be turned off with a setting. It's in our bug database, though, so at least it's on our radar.
As for full keyboard access, the info about it not being hooked up in Photoshop was passed along to me by a developer. Using the TIFF Options dialog as an example, I am not seeing any difference in tabbing behavior no matter which option I use for the Full Keyboard Access setting. There might be some other setting we have set differently. Do you have any other keyboard settings set to non-defaults?

Saffire firewire bug

I've been using a Saffire FW audio interface successfully for a couple of weeks. All of a sudden my tower won't start up if the Saffire is connected. The Saffire works fine with my PowerBook (G4 12"), and other FW sound cards work fine with the tower. I have tried different cables as well as software and firmware updates.
I suspect this problem may be related to the fact that the Saffire is bus powered. I have tried to start up with the Saffire plugged to its own transformer and the tower still shuts down seconds after the grey screen appears.
Anyone have any ideas about this?

I'll tell you another negative thing about the new iMacs: you can't raise or lower the display. Only tilt it.
That means if on a desk you need to put it on top of books to be at the right eye level.
I already had a custom desk with a monitor shelf, an Omnirax Prostation Jr. MC. With the iMac on the monitor shelf, the display is way too high. It strains the eyes to be looking up constantly.
So not only do you have to buy a new soundcard to make music, but a new computer desk as well!
Imo, this Firewire issue is deliberate. Apple has partenered with Apogee to make the Ensemble audio interface and they don't want RME stealing the limelight. By ensuring that RME products don't work with the iMac, they automatically increase sales of the Apogee Ensemble. After all big studios have money to splurge, when somethings is not working right, they just replace it.
I've finally got it though my thick head that Apple cares not for the lil guy.
Lucky for me, I'm not a die-had Mac fan. I do have Wintel laptops to use with the Fireface 400. So I'm not completely stuck. I'll just use the iMac for what its name suggests it to be used for. An internet Machine. NOT a music production machine.
You can buy a Quadcore Windows PC system for the same price of a 20 iMac these days. As long as you stick to XP and not VIsta, you will have much better luck going that route. Ableton Live runs better on Windows XP than OS X.

Annoying BASS Bug,,,Ummm, Really Really Annoying Bass Bug.....

Yea,,,bass is @ -12 every time I start my PC, I have BEATS Audio and this lappy sounds great,,,,or at least should if it wasn't for this bug up my .
I've set the Treb to +4 and its set even if I reboot/restart, not so with the Bass.
So I proced to DL the IDT/BeatsAudio Driver (sp56900)....Good to go here.
Then I try to delete the driver from the 'Programs and Feature' (User Account), no go, I get a popup.
Then I try to delete the driver from the 'Programs and Feature' (Administrator Account), no go, I get the same popup.
#@!%&#!,,,,eyez gots other tings to do on a Saturday night!
I try SAFE MODE,,,,,,,,,NOPE/NO GO,,,,,,,,,FUBAR?.........SNAFU!
I finally delete it from the 'Device Manager'.
Install the SP and all is good now......
My Question is,,,,
What possibly caused this and how do I prevent it from happening again?

WTH is with the error code?! All I can find on this is backup errors?

Really Annoying Tag Bug

For some time (before the 10.5.2 update) I've had an obnoxious bug in tag entry system-wide (and in places such as Address Book). I can enter the first tag just fine, but on the second the system begins to duplicate whatever I type (so if I was trying to type "hello" I would end up with "hhehelhelhellhello". This makes tagging things in apps such as Journler and Together difficult and editing my Address Book impossible. Anyone know how to fix it?

Really annoying headphone bug

I realise that this isn't the right spot but I can't find anywhere else to post. I have a really irritating bug in the way Windowsphone treats headphones. If using headphones and you receive a text and say"read it", once you are finished the
headphones don't work until you reboot. Instead it starts to blast out whatever you are listening to on the speakers, very irritating and embarrassing on a crowded train.

Annoying Mail Bug

OK; I drag an image to my mail icon; drop it upon it; and it opens in a message ready to send. But another blank mail message window also opens up. This is getting annoying already. What could be causing it? Only addons I use are widescreen mail and dockstar

Could be your mail preferences file. Unfortunately if you remove it so mail creates another one it will remove all your customized settings for Mail. However, if you're willing to try it, move the preferences file to a backup location (it's located in ~/Library/Preferences/ and is called "com.apple.Mail.plist") and restart Mail. It will ask you for your account information, but will maintain your mailbox organization after you provide the info.
If that clears the problem then you know it was the old preferences file, but if not you can always close Mail and drag your old preferences file back to the library, overwriting the new one and restoring your old settings.

Very annoying zoom bug that with resolve with reboot.

All of a sudden after using the iPad keyboard dock, after 30 mins using the iPad without the dock the screen zooms in for no reason, cropping the top, bottom and sides, in portrait as well as landscape, and this issue doesn't resolve with a restart, wish I could post a pic but I can't. This happens system wide, and most times it crops the whole top status bar with time and battery info completely, as if the iPad doesn't know the right zoom to have....phhhhh...

It was a bug to do with the accessibility zoom feature, I tuned it off and everything is fine, that said it's definitely a bug since I wasn't activating the accessibility zoom in any way, it just zoomed wherever the h. It wanted at will....

Annoying Little Bug...any solution?

In my iTunes library I have many non-album tracks (i.e. b-sides or live recordings) for which I leave out the album title. What I've noticed, is if I select an artist from my iPod, if I only have one album by that artist, it goes directly to the album tracks...but non-album tracks aren't listed. Essentially I can only access those non-album tracks by browsing songs. If I have multiple albums by a single artists, this isn't a problem because the iPod gives my the option of viewing all tracks by that artist in addition to listing all available albums. Is there any solution to this other than giving all my non-album tracks some generic name in iTunes?

Your only solution is to provide an album name for those tracks.
You could use the artist name as the album name.

Annoying firmware bug .

Say you have one album by an artist, and also a single track not from that album (as I do for several artists). I have the "album" tag for the single tracks left blank. Now put both the album and the single track onto the iPod, and try to find the single track...
The only way to play the single track is from the "songs" list. If you access that artist, the iPod looks to see how many albums you have by that artist - it doesn't look for tracks that have a matching artist tag but a blank album tag. It sees only one album tag against that artist, so it jumps straight to that album, and never lets you see the non-album tracks.
OK, so there is an obvious workaround, by adding a meaningless album tag to the single tracks, but it's a bit of a pain...

another issue I've noticed now, I can't see how the progress is while charging - because the message does not stay on for long, I can't see the message saying "battery full etc" no more
I have to unlock then I'll see the message... what happens if I'm in a hurry... I just want to quickly check the status... not unlocking etc....
