Another Victim of ChatandVision Fraud.

How is it possible that you are still workin with ChatandVision?
My order SO490186 was cancelled claiming security reasons and as many before me, I have not been refunded the total of my order.
This scam needs to stop. I would appreciate your help in making sure ChatandVision processes a quick refund on my order.
Thank you in advance.
J.

Chatandvision
Quite frankly, I’m over your patronizing responses.
You have failed to fulfill your obligation as committed. Purchases are legally binding agreements, that’s the bottom line.
I have not received neither the money back in my account nor proof that you’ve processed the refund.
I ask you, one last time, to process or expedite my refund or legal action will be taken.
I AM NOT YOUT JOKE – I am a costumer who paid you for something I didn’t receive and that you’ve failed to refund. In my eyes this is no customer service at all, this is theft.

  • Another victim of the suddenly-missing AppleTV in iTunes

I picked up my AppleTV a couple of weeks ago, brought it home and synced it successfully to a G4 iMac. Put some content on it, and it ran quite well.
Last night I get home, and iTunes cannot see the device any more. The only variable? Installed the QuickTime "security update" that came down the other night. Can ping the aTV, the router can see it, the aTV can get to the internet and view trailers, did the factory reset twice. AppleTV never appears as a device on iTunes 7.1.1(5) on that machine.
However, my girlfriend's MacBook sees it perfectly. It shows up in the Devices list within seconds and can sync or stream, no problem.
    Steps I've already taken:
    - Powered off the aTV
    - Factory reset the aTV
    - Restarted the wireless router
    - Restarted the G4 iMac
    - Logged in as Administrator and a couple of other users on the iMac
    - Physically removed and reinstalled iTunes on the iMac
    - Verified that I can ping the aTV both from the G4 and the router
    - Verified that all devices are on the same subnet
    - Verified that all devices can be seen by the router
    - Changed channels on the wireless (from 6 to 11)
    - Forced the router to 802.11g-only
    - Read at least ten threads over the last two weeks about similar problems, none of which have conclusive solutions (Apple's troubleshooting page about this pretty much parrots the user guide and is thus useless in this situation).
Without any of these tricks, the MacBook sees it and works with it. Even with all these tricks, the G4 cannot at all.
    Other fun facts:
    - Firewall is not and has never been enabled on the G4
    - Router is not blocking any ports
    - Router configuration has not been changed (except channel as noted above) in weeks
    - All of this used to work on all machines involved
And to restate: this all worked perfectly with the G4 for a couple of weeks. I cannot say that the QuickTime update had anything to do with it, and in fact, the MacBook *got this update too* and still talks to the aTV just fine.
The one thing I haven't done is physically wire the G4 and the aTV to a 10/100 hub and do it wired-style.
I've seen several threads about this, as I said. Nobody seems have come up with a reliable solution and there seems to be a lot of casting-about for possible solutions instead of Apple investigating this properly.

OK, even further update... it turns out that the installer for the new EyeTV 2.4 AppleTV-compatible software has a problem with the QT 7.1.6 update.
    Here's the scenario:
I redid my iMac back to a known-good configuration from a few weeks ago, before the 7.1.6 update. AppleTV now appeared on the Device list just fine, synced up, did everything perfectly.
I installed the 7.1.6 update, and Apple TV STILL worked perfectly!
Then I ran the installer for EyeTV 2.40, and as soon as I gave consent for it to modify some device driver it was using, which I assume means it tweaked QuickTime or iTunes somehow, AppleTV disappeared from Devices, iTunes stopped working correctly, and EyeTV itself would frequently hang.
Reverted back to the next-earlier EyeTV, pulled a good copy of iTunes from my earlier image, and everything started working again.
Late yesterday, Elgato sent me a link to a new beta version of 2.40, which apparently addresses this problem. It has been reported only by users of PowerPC machines, which is why my fiancee's MacBook didn't have a problem. The new patched code works nicely with 7.1.6 and everything works again.
    Here's the patched 2.4:
    http://s3.amazonaws.com/eyetvbeta/eyetv24_betabuild2654.zip
I'll post another thread about this with a better subject so that EyeTV owners can find it and deal with it.

  • Another victim of huge amounts of data being used, is downgrading a solution?

I too am one of the latest victims of skyrocketing data usage on my 2 week old iPhone 4. I randomly got a text from AT&T this morning stating that I had used 65% of my 200MB data plan in just 10 DAYS. I am on wifi for 80% of the day and at work I only check FB, twitter, and the occasional email that comes through on 3G but otherwise it's all wifi. I've read wifi isn't running when it's asleep so maybe that's the problem. I deleted my iCloud account and made my phone ancient by only getting calls. Many of you say this started with iOS5 so I was thinking that downgrading may not even be an option but a necessity. AT&T can't help at all since the data used is "consistent" yet I had 3 Blackberries and my brother's Blackberry Curve ever go/went near 100MB, and this is from the latest Blackberry phones. I still have time to return the phone and get a new one but I'm hooked on it and don't want to lose it, it's just frustrating to go through this. Has anyone successfully downgraded the OS and noticed anything?

How many email accounts are you accessing with the iPhone's Mail app?
Any accounts that support push access for received messages?
If not, is Fetch set to automatically check the account or accounts for new messages?
If the answer is yes to either question and your iPhone is not connected to a power source the entire time it is in range of an available wi-fi network the iPhone has access to or is not being actively used the entire time it is connected to an available wi-fi network, connection with the wi-fi network will be dropped. If Cellular Data is enabled, your iPhone will use the cellular data or internet network to download emails in that situation. If you have Notifcations enabled for any apps, notifications received will be downloaded via the carrier's cellular data or internet network. If your employer email account is an Exchange account, push access is supported with an Exchange account for recevied messages and for contacts and calendar events. You can turn Push access off for email but if Fetch is set to automatic, the account will be checked for new messages and new messages will be downloaded when the iPhone is not actively being used. which will be over the cellular network unless the iPhone remains connected to a power source the entire time it is connected to an available wi-fi network.
If your employer email account is an Exchange account, that is likely the culprit. Turn Push access off for received messages for starters and use Fetch set to automatic or manually.

  • Another victim of 3689

I have Vista OS on a PC and an Airport Extreme router. I know it isn't the router, because on another desktop and laptop, I've never had a single problem with AppleTV as far as syncing goes. I purchased a new PC with Vista 64 Bit and can't get it to sync with AppleTV. I've done a factory restore multiple times and it sees it and everything else works except syncing. I'm wondering if it has to do with McAfee. My other two PCs (that work) have Norton 360 on it, but the one with McAfee does not. I've verified in McAfee that iTunes can do inbound/outbound. I've verified that port 3689 is open (had to add it in McAfee). Still no luck after a weekend of frustration. I could go back to using my other computers, but one of the reasons I bought the machine I did was to be a media center for things like this.

    FIXED!!!
Even though the windows internal firewall was turned off, once I added port 3689 as an accepted port, it worked fine.

  • Another Victim of the Pink Vertical Line

This is my first macbook pro and it turned out to be a flop show. I just bought my 13" macbook pro retina display 5 hours back and I have been seeing this pink vertical line for the past few hours. I restarted, shut down the computer a couple of times but doesn't seem to help. I do not see an option other than returning this thing

Return the machine and exchange it for another. You have 14 days from date of purchase to exchange the machine or get a complete refund.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Another Victim

Just happened to me today - No power at all.  We've had it for about 20 months.  I'm looking online to see what other printers use these cartridges.

    Hi ptkopf,
Please follow these steps to try and resolve the issue:
    1.  Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet/surge protector and leave them out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in. Sometimes one port on a surge protector will work, while another will not, so we recommend plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
    2.  If the printer reset didn't work, please try to plug the printer into another power outlet in a different area of the room, or another room if possible and try to turn the unit on.
    3.  If you have another power cord you can use with the printer, please try to use that power cord to see if this will resolve the issue.
If the printer still does not turn on after these steps, it will require servicing.  Please call or email us at one of the methods on the Contact Us page to obtain your servicing options.

  • Another victim of IOS 6

Well, this *****.  I have had a refurbished, unlocked iPhone 4 for around a year now and have been using it on StraightTalk without any problems at all until today.  Today I decided I would upgrade my iPhone 4 to IOS 6, which I had already done on my iPad 2 without a problem.  Well, the progress bar on the phone got to about 25% and just sat there for a long time.  I read that people were rebooting and it would solve the problem.  So I rebooted and of course it goes into recovery mode.  Then it wouldn't accept the update I downloaded directly, giving me some sort of error.  So I tried to run the 5.1.1 update that I downloaded and it errored out with the error message that I wasn't authorized to install 5.1.1.  So I found out you can get out of recovery mode by holding down power and home and then releasing power and holding home for so many seconds, which worked great, and I could restart the IOS update process.  However, every single time I do it, get stuck on 25%.
So it seems I'm stuck now in iPhone update ****, and no way of getting out of it.  I WAS thinking of buying an unlocked iPhone 4S or 5 from the website, but now I'm not so sure i want to risk it.  I think I'll take my changes on a cheaper Android phone.
Anyone have any suggestions or links...I've pretty much ran out of ideas.  I have been googling and trying things for hours with no luck

    Was it Error 1015?

    That's not supported and unauthorized.

Nope you've successfully bricked your device without our help

My shuffle was working perfectly until I upgraded the software. Now, my computer doesn't recognize the shuffle and obviously, neither does iTunes. Have tried the Apple suggestions and found them to be quite useless. Has anyone figured out how to make Apple's products work for them? I would love any help that you can throw my way. Thanks!!!

  • Another victim of the Somalia hackers

My account was hacked in such a way that the system wouldn't allow me to change my password. I could not access the account and I couldn't change the password. However, someone else was in my account apparently because when I eventually changed my password and logged in I see several calls to Somalia that depleted my balance. I have made a request to Skype to get me my money back, but I don't know how successful that will be.
I think there's some exploit out there that we don't fully understand. My system is well protected, updated anti-virus, malware-free, etc., so I don't believe this is a straightforward password theft. Moreover, the hackers appear to have figured out some way of invalidating your password token as well. I was able to get the password token to my email account but when I tried changing my password, there was an error message directing me to customer service. Tried this a couple of times, then complained to customer service, and by now my account was locked out so I couldn't even change my password.
Is there any hope of getting my money back? And is someone at Skype studying what's going on with these attacks?

You are experiencing kernel panics. This knowledge base article gives more information about kernel panics:

I suggest you run the hardware checker that is on your software install DVD. Unless you made recent software changes, you may have hardware problems. If the checker shows no errors, run repair disk from your software install DVD.
You can also check on the health of your hard drive by opening disk utility and then highlighting the hD (not your files). At the bottom is someting called S.M.A.R.T. If that says anything other than "verified," you have HD problems.
The garbled video may be a completely different problem. Read this (from the main discussion page) to see if it applies to you:

  • Another victim of the horrid Blue Screen

I hope someone can help me with this. I've been trying to fix this problem for most of the day.
My iBook G4 started going into the blue screen during startup this morning. I've been able to start it up normally about three times today, but the other times, I got one of the following:
Blue screen (this happened the most at first), or
The "You need to restart your computer. Hold down...." in different languages (this one is happening more and more), or
A garbled mess of lines and gibberish on a gray/black background (this has happened about three or four times)
I am able to start up in safe mode. I moved the fonts and got rid of the startup items as recommended in other posts I've seen in the discussions. Didn't work. I then reinstalled my system software (I'm now at version 10.4). That didn't work either.
My computer says that it doesn't have an Airport card (which it does), but I don't know if that's just from starting up in Safe mode.
Can someone help me? I'm at my wit's end!!!

  • Sigh, another victim of the stealth McAfee install...

OK, I know there are other threads on this topic and I've seen the screen shot where Adobe hides the opt out button, but come on, this should be clearly displayed after the download but before the install. I've also seen Adobe's excuse, "producing FP is expensive", completely ignoring the fact that a wide user base of FP is what gives at least half of CS its value. I've been opting out for years, you got me this time, and rest assured McAfee spent no more than 30 seconds on my machine, but this is just a really lame practice Adobe.

  • Yet another victim of the Verizon blacklisting

I, too, am unable to connect to pop.verizon.net or smtp.verizon.net from my current location.  This is not a problem with my account as I can read email through the web interface.
It really appears that Verizon is blacklisting many portions of the internet and refusing to service email requests from there.  That they are doing this indicates that there is some sort of emergency.  However, it would be very useful to have some information about what is going on so that we don't spend so much time trying to fix the situation.

    pfps wrote:
From the long thread at http://forums.verizon.com/t5/Verizon-net-Email/No-response-from-pop-verizon-net-or-smtp-verizon-net/... and other complaints, it strongly appears that Verizon cut off POP and SMTP access from a large portion of the internet, maybe including all foreign ISPa, on or about 17 September 2014.
The problem occurs when  you have Verizon email but don't use always Verizon as your ISP.   Without changing any settings on your computer, you can no longer access the Verizon POP or SMTP servers.   The web interface to your Verizon email is unaffected.  If your internet connection hasn't changed, then this would have happened on or about 17 September 2014.  If you changed your internet connection, for examples between work and home or due to travel, then your inability to access Verizon email could have happened at the time of the switch.
There may have been good reasons for Verizon to make this restrict access in this way.  For example, Verizon's email servers may have been successfully attacked, and Verizon then restricted access so as to stem the attack.
Verizon does not appear to be saying anything about either just the simple fact of the cutoff, the reasons for it, the hopefully temporary workaround, or when a resolution can be expected.  It is the silence of Verizon that is the most severe problem, causing considerable expense on the part of its customers.   Verizon may believe that its silence is helping to solve the problem, but past experience has shown that being forthright is the much better policy.
I currenntly use Verizon FIOS for cable, phone, and internet, but I am seriously considering changing because of this poor behaviour of Verizon.
Yes they were attacked.  Many customers were getting their ID's locke by these attacks.  Yes they may have to whitelist your ISP or IP address.  They initially blocked all overseas, but will whitelist as they are contacted by customers.  They are currently suggesting you try the MYFIOS app (if you have it) to see if you can access your mail.
If you use the Yahoo interface YOU MUST now add @verizon..net to your userid.
If you cannot  access try contacting them directly or if you cannot, PM one of the Admins on the boards.  NOTE, NOT THE CL"S, we are not Verizon employess but just peers like yourselves.

  • Re: Email account hacked

Hi everyone, I'm new on here but I got the heads up on your discussion via a colleauge. I seem to have been having similar difficulties and have sent the following to the BT complaints department.
Thought it might be of interest?
On Tuesday of this week I found I was unable to access my email account and on making enquiries was told it had been hacked. I was given a new password and then received the following.   My account was hacked [Incident:xxxxxx-xxxxxx]

This has happened before and it's really annoying all the moreso because you will not allow passwords that contain anything other than letters and numerals which severely limits the possible combinations.
    Then it happened again.
When I phoned up to see if I could gain access to my emails and was surprised to find it is now a premium rate line at £1.53 a minute so why did it take over 17 minutes to sort it out? This seems to be far too long simply to change a password and let me get on with my day? During this slice out of my life it was suggested that I was probably being 'specifically  targeted' so of course I was concerned that this might keep happening and was told they had a solution and put me through to an operator who wanted my bank card details!? Ok alarm bells are ringing now, and then the bombshell, yes they could fix my problem for me for a one time payment of £199.99...............
I suggested that I could sort it myself for a lot less but apparently only ‘your’ software was capable of tracking down and removing the offending virus from my computer.
I then made a suggestion put forward by a good friend who works for the Home Office knows about these things that I could just wipe my hard drive using http://killdisc.com/ and reinstall my software as I have taken the precaution of backing it all up but was countered with rather vague comments about what might happen next time and really ‘your’ software is the only solution to my problem..... Actually I don't see how it is my problem, after all I pay good money to use BT broadband its services already and this all seems a bit like being asked by the local council to fill the pot-holes in the road I use to go to work each day!! Sorry but really this is not my responsibility it is yours.
However I was still concerned about another attack and  I really wanted to know what was involved so I agreed in principle to have a go and was duly booked in for an appointment that evening 8pm. The technician was very pleasant and instructed me to visit www.thetechline.co.uk/launch and  I got a page not found error message, not a good start but we persevered for twenty minutes only to find that teamviewer 8.0 would not download onto my hard drive and then my time was obviously up as I was told that a senior technician would get back to me same time the next evening, ok, I'm a patient man. Although this Team Viewer is just an off the shelf piece of software that anyone can access for free so I wasn’t very impressed I must say.
Anyway the following evening at 7pm 28th Feb, not 8pm as previously agreed! and right in the middle of my evening meal with absolutely nothing set-up at all and I actually found myself apologising to the technician for being unprepared! Why I do not know? However he assured me he 'had all the time in the world' so that's ok then, and so we proceed as the night before but eventually manage to get the teamviewer 8.0 downloaded onto to my netbook and so he hangs up saying it will all be fine and to get on with my evening, and so he takes control and begins to download Superantispyware Proffessional Trial Edition, but hang on Trail edition? As in free!? What? I checked on this and it is just some dodgy trial edition of a rather less than professional piece of American software retailing at a mere $19.95 which Microsoft do a far better version of for free to all. Anyway what with teamviewer 8.0 and Superantispyware both on my little netbook the poor thing to froze after just a few seconds and although the technician assured me that he had checked it at ten minute intervals absolutely nothing happened for a full hour, because I was sat watching the whole time, by which time I was losing patience and really just wanted to go to bed. His dismay was palpable, 'we have to get this onto your main laptop' his voice rent with near panic and so I tried again but no my trusty old Dell Inspiron 1300 just wouldn't have it. So he basically ‘had to go and deal with another customer.. Oh Fine, that's just fine, two evenings utterly ruined but hey-ho never mind eh?
What I want to know is how you can be so brazen as to take £199.99 from my account today 1st March 2013 for not providing something almost anyone with a modicum of computer savvy could do for them selves for free? I accept that you are doing is not actually illegal but it is deeply unethical.
I therefore demand an immediate return of my money or I will be taking this further.

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Please go back and edit your post to remove the email address and reference number.
Sorry to hear of the problem.
Firstly, what number did you ring up ? The helpine is an 0800 number, free from landlines.
The whole story actually looks like you've not been talking to BT at all, but to scammers. What was the 199.99 billed to ?
BT as far as I know do not instruct people to install teamviewer.
As for downloading Superantispyware, there is a free version anyway. "They" may have done more than just install this, and possibly used that as a decoy whilst doing something else.
Honestly, if you do online banking, I would contact them immediately to say that you may have fallen victim to ID fraud. Also cancel that card.
As for the password, it's not inherently insecure. Using a mixture of case and numbers is fine. Frankly if it has happened before, then I would say you have a more serious issue - possibly viruses/trojans or malware.
Do you use your email address as the login for various online websites, and for an associated password have you ever used the email password ?
Killdisc.com isn't what you might think it is.
Also by using a different machine, you've possibly got that infected as well.
All of this has nothing to do with your email account being hacked I'm afraid.

  • JBO:33001 bc4j.xcfg file not found in class path

    Hi,
I am yet another victim of the age-old error JBO:33001 bc4j.xcfg file not found in class path, When i have my BC4JApp.jar in Tomcat Web-inf/lib directory. All the other jar files and class files in my webserver-application web-inf classes and lib directory works.
But Tomcat server is not able to read this bc4j.xcfg file. I can see in my jar file that this bc4j.xcfg exists and in the specified package directory. still the problem persists. My BC4JApp.jar is perfectly working when i use JDeveloper. but not when i use tomcat4.0 and call a JSP using BC4JApp.jar from browser (My environment is Jdeveloper3.2, Tomcat4.0+IIS in middle tier and oracle 8i as DB, everything on windows2k)
I have gone through almost all the threads possible that relates to this error in this form. None of them have a answer except to say "put the file in classpath". and last reply is "will fix in jDeveloper 9i. So what happens to us who are working in Jdeveloper 3.2?
    1. I have this file in my jar file.
    2. I also tried creating a seperate directory manually, with the same name as my package under web-inf/classes, web-inf/lib , just under web-inf directory and atlast under approot directory also. I tried having my package directory containing bc4j.xcfg in these folders one at a time and also tried having this directory in all these folders at the same time.
    Still no solution.
Itz frustrating that neither proper documentation nor a right url page nor i am aware of available addressing this. page links given in above threads only gives me the wonderful page of ie's "Page cannot be displayed".
Is there a answer to this error and my problem. If this doesn't work, then i have to all the way develop from scratch creating my jsp using JDBC calls and Stored packages etc.
I don't want to give up on this Jdeveloper at this final moment because if this bc4j.xcfg file is found, my application will work perfectly. on these final moments, if this doesn't work, i am frightened to imagine to develop my application in standard way. Atlast, if thatz the option left,we have to do that bcos our production date is close by.
Please can some one in this forum or Jdeveloper help me to solve this problem. I am desperate and very urgent.
Waiting for a reply from Jdev team very much...
( I just posted in the other thread which is pretty old, dated backto May 2001, which was relevant to this error. Just to make sure it is noticed, I am posting it seperately too)
    Thanks
    Hari(2/3/02)

    Hi All,
For those who are following this thread, I got a solution for this error with the help of Jdev Team.
This solution may work, if you have deployed your application in Tomcat4.0.1. This is the environment in which I work and tested.
As you may be aware, Tomcat ignores value in CLASSPATH variable.
To see any files that are existing or newly deployed, it has it own way of detecting it.
Addition information on Tomcat working, you can follow this link,
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.0-doc/index.html
Coming to point, Tomcat has got five classloaders and each classloader invoked, looks in their related directories for files in following order.
    1. /WEB-INF/classes of your web-application
    2. /WEB-INF/lib/*.jar of your web application
    3. BootStrap classes of your JVM (Tomcat's $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext)
    4. System class loader classes($CATALINA_HOME/bin/bootstrap.jar,CATALINA_HOME/lib/tools.jar)
    5. $CATALINA_HOME/common/classes
    6. $CATALINA_HOME/common/lib/*.jar
    7. $CATALINA_HOME//classes
    8. $CATALINA_HOME/lib/*.jar
So All your individual application related files should be deployed in your application's WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib directory accordingly.
If your application files are unpacked, they should be deployed or copied under WEB-INF/classes directory
if the files are within a jar, they should be under WEB-INF/lib directory.
If your Jar-files contains bc4j components, then those jar files should be deployed under WEB-INF/lib directory. Also,do the next step to copy all relavant BC4J runtime libraries under lib directory.
IMPORTANT: Please remember to copy and paste all the required BC4j runtime libraries in the Same WEB-INF/lib directory along with your application jar files. This is the real reason which can solve this JBO:33001 to disappear. It worked for me.
To configure your directory for tag-lib uri's, use web.xml to set the taglib-uri attribute.
Put your web.xml and DataTags.tld in the WEB-INF directory.
Your simple web.xml may look like as follows.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
    <web-app>
         <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>
                   /webapp/DataTags.tld
              </taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>
                   /WEB-INF/DataTags.tld
              </taglib-location>
         </taglib>
    </web-app>
You may then modify this web.xml to suit further requirements of your application.
Remember to stop and restart the Tomcat Server (service) by using shutdown and startup scripts after updating any jar files/class files/ JSP or source files deployed in Tomcat.
Sometimes, only this helps even though your context's reloadable attribute is set to true in Tomcat Server's server.xml file.
Hope this above information helps you to solve this error in Tomcat environment. My Sincere thanks once again to Juan and Jdev team for their help and efforts to solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Hari

  • T520 with Kingston SSD and OS Win XP Sp3 - Unmountable boot device

    Hello everybody,
I have a problem with the combination of our Lenovo T520 and a Kingston SSD. The last laptop we have ordered no SSD seems to be working with the laptop. I install normally WIn Xp with SP3 the installation work very well but when I begin to install new drivers and make a restart Blue Screen with unmountable boot device. Ive tried also an Corsair SSD it results with the same effect. Do have any idea what else I can do? I've also made an bios update but that also doesn't worked very well. Do you have any other Ideas that i can try to have a better result.
    Best Regards

Same problem here, spent half the day figuring out what was causing this, now I find another victim. Here's what fixed it for me: Restart WinXP with your ext. monitor connected, login to admin acct, go to "Start" menu>Control Panels>Printers and Other Hardware>NVIDIA Control Panel. Expand the Display folder on the left side and select "Set up multiple displays", then select the "Use only one display" radio button and make sure your laptop display is entered in the "Select the display you would like to use." box. Approve the changes and now it should restart without the ext. monitor connected.
