Any chance to connect ichat on port 8080?

hi, anyone here would have a great idea on how to use port 8080 for ichat. I don't need audio or video, I only need IM service. my company blocked all other port except 8080 with proxy login. Thanks in advance and hope someone can help me out.

Hi,
Open iChat and go tot he Preferences.
Go to the Accounts section and Uncheck the "Use this Account" option to Log out.
Go to the Server Settings tab
Change the Port to whatever you want.
Reset "Use this Account" to Log in.

  • Connect iChat to TV

    Hi everyone...
is there any way to connect ichat video to TV with or without apple TV?
If yes could you tell me how to do that and requiriments I need?
    Thanks

    OK, Ben.
    Need to understand more
You can download a copy of the manual for your particular iBook by optionClicking on the link for one of these manuals:
iBook G4 (Mid 2005) User's Guide (Manual), or
iBook G4 (Late 2004) Getting Started (Manual)
If you do not know which G4 iBook you have, I suggest you download both and look at the pictures to select the appropriate manual.
Regardless of which is for your iBook, Chapter 3 contains instruction for connecting to a TV and for using your Headphone port for connecting to audio. Instructions are very similar for either G4 iBook version.
If you cannot find help with the downloaded manual either, you can get a start by clicking on these web links:
Connecting a television to use as a display,
Changing your display settings when connected to a TV, and
Setting up multiple displays as an extended desktop
If you need connectors, cabling, or additional help, I suggest you see your local Apple retailer or computer equipment dealer. He can supply any hardware you may need and answer any questions you have about the information in the links above.

  • How to make none root user to connect to TCP Port  (web ports)

how to make none root user (any user)
to connect to TCP Port 80 or port 81 or any port less than 1024
cause i have web server i want to run and stop service with none root userand on port 80 and port 81
can you help me and give me steps

I believe Solaris 9 also has RBAC control. If so then all you need to do is present the uid with the PRIV_NET_PRIVADDR privilege. See the privielegs(5) manpage for more information on the subject.
This privilege will allow the userid to bind to ports < 1024. You can give a user this privilege either by using usermod (you will probably need the auth_attr(4) manpage as well) after which you need to login again. Or you can try using ppriv to modify the privileges on the users shell.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

  • Can't Connect to SMP on port 8080

    Hello,
I have 2 SMP 3.0 SP06 servers, one installed in remote server "azure server"and the other o is installed internally in local server that doesn't have an internet connection.
I can connect to the remote server , I can so the following :
    - open admin page
    -open integration gateway management page
    - telnet port 8080 and port 8083
-register client on application and execute OData services from Advanced REST Client
but when I'm trying to do the same on SMP installed on the local server , I am only able to
    - open admin page
    - open integration gateway management page
    - telnet port 8083 only
    but I can't :
    - telnet port 8083
    - register client on application and execute OData services from Advanced REST Client, as this is done through port 8080.
    I executed the command " netstat -a | find "8080" "
and it has the same result on both servers :
screenshot from local server, the other server on azure has the same result.
I have stopped and started SMP services, and still can't connect to port 8080.
I added a role in firewall for port 8080 to allow connection but still same issue, I even disabled the firewall with no hope.
this is screenshot from Advanced REST client, it gives no response after timeout:
    screenshot from telnet command:
    Am I missing something ?
    Thanks,
    Hossam

What do you see when you run?
    http://localsmpserverip:8080
    https://localsmpserverip:8081
when I tried to access the two links :
    http://localsmpserverip:8080
    https://localsmpserverip:8081
it gives me after timeout this :
but when I tried to access:
    https://localsmpserverip:8083
    it downloaded a file.
and as I mentioned I can access the cockpit and telnet port 8083.
do you see the same PID for all SMP ports?
    " netstat -a | find "8080"
    " netstat -a | find "8081"
    " netstat -a | find "8082"
    " netstat -a | find "8083"
8080 might being used by some other service.
they all used by java.exe and not used by any other process
You can achieve above with HTTPS (secure connection) and 8081 as well.
I tried to register using port 8081 same response :

Is there any Trash Can in Iphone in order to find them? I am dumb and I did not think about save them before connect to PC.

Your photos are gone.  They were wiped when you restored your phone.  There is no "trash can".
You obviously don't understand how to use the iPhone properly.  Attached is a link to the iPhone User guide.  I suggest you read through it to avoid data loss in the future.

If I lost my Iphone, but when I tried to locate with ICloud - find my Iphone it's offline. I lost in another country  which means that there is no Internet connection on my phone. Is there any chance to find?

In order for a lost iPhone to be located you have to have set 'Find My iPhone' up on it before losing it, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network (how else could it transmit its location) - if any of these conditions is not true then locating it is not possible. You can't use the serial number or IMEI number to locate a phone: the former is only useful to identify it as yours if it turns up, and the latter can be used by most service providers to block it, rendering it useless and preventing anyone from spending your credit.

  • LC Configuration Manager problem, port 8080 still in use?

I'm installing a trial version of the Adobe LiveCycle ES server using JBoss on my system for some development. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I did a turnkey installation. That goes fine. When I run the configuration manager, it gets to the deployment step and the "Verifying ports required by service JBoss for Adobe LiveCycle ES are available" step, and I get this error:
"The following ports required by JBoss for Adobe LiveCycle ES are still in use 8080.
Another instance may be running or another application may be using some of the required ports."
Nothing has port 8080 bound. I've checked with a netstat -a -o command. I can run tomcat and it binds port 8080 just fine. I've disabled UAC (I'm logged in as an administrator), disabled windows firewall, and even uninstalled and reinstalled livecycle. One thing that happens if I restart my computer and try again is that it fails for a different error about being unable to stop the JBoss service. If I stop the service manually and retry, it just reverts to the port error above.
This error is really confusing and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. I need to get this up and running so I can develop and test my application. Anyone have any insights or suggestions?
    -Sam Fahmie

I have the same problem trying to install on Vista64. Perhaps it only works on XP and 2003?
"Chances are that the installer is failing at the stage where it tries to create a Windows service for JBoss and fails"
This isn't the installer, it's the configuration manager that runs after the installer.
The installer creates the service just fine. It's when the manager tries to start the service that it fails. If you manually start jboss then run the configuration manager again then it stops at the same point complaining that an instance of jboss is already running. If jboss is already running, why doesn't the installer just skip that stage and continue?
I've found that after starting jboss manually I can connect to the 8080/adminui page (took a very long time to respond the first time I connected), but the default login doesn't work. I assume some extra steps haven't been done. Is there any way to bypass the starting of jboss in the config manager in order to complete the other steps?
I've also tried launching the configuration manager bat file from an administrator mode console, but it fails at the same point.
2 days screwing around with this software, both turnkey and manual on Linux and I haven't managed to get it to work. Quality. Next step will be to see if I can get a copy of XP from the museum and a find machine to run it on.

  • Failed while creating virtual Ethernet switch. Failed to connect Ethernet switch port

    Hello Folks
I am completely stuck with the configuration of my virtual networks. I have one logical switch left to add to one of my Hyper-V 2012 R2 hosts when I started getting the error below when I try to add logical switches to either Hyper-V Host. I have been using
the document. 'Hybrid Cloud with NVGRE (Cloud OS)' to implement the virtual networking. Basically using the exact configuration that is in the document. I have added the PA Logical Network and the Network adapters and added the logical switch for it to my
hyper-v 2012 R2 host and everything was fine. I am now trying to add my ISCSI Logical Switch to the host and this is the error I get. My other Hyper-V host I get this error for any logical switch I am trying to add. Can someone help me with this error. I haven't
been able to find any information about it.
Also a some quick info on tracing an error like this so I can figure out what is causing it.
Thsi is my configuration so far
So as far as I know everything is peachy untill the error below. Dead stop now
    Error (12700)

notice your GUID?  you may want to consider ensuring that is the same GUID associated in your database.  Sometimes during data corruption theres a smidge of a chance your sql database kind of either pulls old guids esp if this was reverted to snapshot
without it being powered off etc.
I would try that first.  then i would consider if you get to configure that with your current liscense associated with the host.  I would need way more info to help any further

  • No response on port 8080

This post relates to Apex, but it seems like it may be the DB install causing it. So posting in both places. Installed XE 11g with on Oracle Linux 5 with apparently no problems. But Apex does not appear on port 8080 and a port checker says port 8080 inactive.
I also installed earlier on Windows, with no such problem.
    Any ideas on possible cause/diagnostic?

  • Trying to open port 8080 in WRT400N for external access

    Hi,
I have tried everyhting I can find and I still can't get it open.
I verified no port 8080 is in use with the "netstat -a" trick
I got a router checker that verifies I have only one router.
I got a free app that tells me the port is not open.
    I turned Comodo off .
    Once I start up Calibre I see this in 'netstat;
          Protocol     main address      Foreign Address
            TCP          0.0.0.0:8080              MAIN-PC:0               Listening
*IF* MY 'public IP" is 98.93.123.456 -
*IF* I had my stuff fixed would outsiders use 98.93.123.456:8080 to get to the server?
I set Single Port Forwarding to 8080  8080 Both 192.168.1.106 (Enabled)
I set Port Range Forwarding to the very same
I set Port Range Trigger ing to 8080 to 8080,  8080 to 8080
I can't figure out anything else to do?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

I changed the port to 8081 everywhere I had it 8080 before
If there is a number I should use let me know (I am noob in this stuff.)
    So nothing has changed.
I can bring up the logon if I am on the same computer as Calibre and that's as far as it goes.
Should I have my computers IP in the places I listed or the routers IP?
OK I just tried that and the router told me "No"...grasping at straws I guess.
We are making headway ...any more things to check?
    Thanks guys
If you forward the port, and the online port scanner shows that the port is closed still odds are that the application on the PC that you are trying to forward to is not running, also it could still be a firewall running on the PC.
    1. Confirm the Router is getting a public IP address, if it is getting a private the device in front will need to be forwarded. (Your router is getting public IP)
    2. Confirm the Router has the correct ports forwarded; also be sure to know if it is TCP or UDP.
    3. Confirm the Application is running on the PC
    4. Make sure no firewalls running.
After that you should be good just does the test in DOS (For example: public IP address followed by a single space and then the port number). The command would connect you to a web server running on port 8080. You will not see anything in the DOS window; usually what will happen if you connect is the screen will just go entirely black (if it’s successful). If the port is closed it will tell you that it cannot create a connection.

  • Video/Screen Sharing via 3G connection not possible - port restrictions?

I'm running Jabber-based iChat AV 5.0.3 sessions from my MBP connected to the Internet via a wireless USB modem 3G/UMTS (German Telekom D1 network). My buddies are connected to the Internet via regular broadband connections (DSL). I have set up a hosted Jabber server via Dreamhost (without SSL, port 5222 used).
    Status Quo:
    - Contact status of remote Jabber users shows up properly. All buttons (text chat, screen sharing, video) are available (not greyed out) on both sides.
    - Text chat works fine.
    - Video chat and screen sharing can be invoked from both sides (confirmation window shows up), but after confirmation the initiation process doesn't finish successfully. The video/screen sharing session doesn't run. *iChat AV shows a message indicating that it doesn't receive an answer from the remote user device.* If the iChat session is initiated from a buddy's computer, the buddy gets the same message respectively.
    - For testing purposes, I changed the internet connection on my MBP from the mobile 3G USB modem to a regular *DSL broadband connection (same ISP, German Telekom). In this scenario, video/audio calls and screen sharing work flawlessly!* Therefore, I assume that the problems in 3G connection mode is caused by the ISP (German Telekom) blocking/restricting ports required by iChat AV for initiating the video call and streaming the data on their 3G network.
Is there any way to bypass ISP restrictions, by either changing specific iChat AV port settings on both ends (client devices) or by port forwarding? If yes, which settings should I change? Unfortunately, it's couldn't find any document indicating which ports are opened/allowed by German Telekom's 2G/3G (GSM/UMTS) network.

    Hi,
Does this 3G device have any set up functions that are on your Mac ?
If it does not it is likely that it is wide open to all Port (65535 of them).
I presume that in System Preferences > Network you see a Public IP when using this device ?
Again this would tend to pint to all the ports being open.
Is there anything on the ISP's web site that suggests this device is unsuitable to be used with VoIP or SIP connections ?
VoIP (Voice over the Internet) uses the SIP connection process the way iChat does.
Most likely the issues is the way packets are sent.
When you do a download, for instance, do you find the speed increases in the first few minutes ?
When some data packets are sent over the Internet the next one is not sent until confirmation that the first has arrived.
This Latency effects Point to Point WiFi (antenna to Dish on House) and satellite connections mostly particularly when it is a two way thing.
It can effect Mobile/Cell phone type connections.
What sort of Speeds are you getting on the 3G device ?
    http://www.speedtest.net/
Do these seem to get faster as the time proceeds ? (this can be difficult to spot).
The Log mentions one end being at just over 2Gbps although it does not make it clear which end.
As the Remote end is the end that reports "Router: Port Restricted" and it works over standard DSL we have to presume they have the ports open.
You could try restricting iChat 's Bandwidth in iChat menu > Preferences > Video Section to 500kbps (try it at both ends)
If that does not work try 200kbps
This may stop iChat from trying to send data too Fast for the Network Connections.
Realistically there are a few too many variables here.
It could be Speed of data throughout at the Initiation point. (Slow Start up of data transfer)
It could be an Internal setting preventing SIP.
It could be that the 3G network sends and receives data by different routes.
(I have seen this once when a ISP was repairing some Cabling. To maintain end user speeds they managed their own network to split Incoming and outgoing data to the end point.)
iChat does not like this as it checks the IPs and the Hops (number of intermediate stages/servers) and if the data is different it will not connect (Man in the Middle attack protection).
I can't remember the last time I knew of someone being successful with either an 3G USB dongle or a 3G phone as Modem (internet Sharing).
Despite my ideas I think you will be unlucky and this will not work.
