Any help on image overlapping?
Hello, does anyone know how to create a swing with 2 overlapping images?
eg. the 2nd image is covering half of the 1st image, while I can still click on either one of the image?

By 'server' the question is not addressing your computer, instead consider the ISP
and their hardware that directs internet access to and from your private network...
Using a browser or Mail, do the connections to email server (gmail) vary? Or
do they both have the same result, with 'too many redirects'?
The network may play a role in how the connection may be affected, along with
how the router and other aspects of your network settings as they relate to the ISP.
When using Safari, did you use the Reset Safari to purge all previously visited session
information so it would effect the next test? You may have to contact the ISP tech support
if the problem is not a local problem. With a portable computer, accessing the internet
elsewhere (different provider, and not your IP address) do you still have issues?
This is an unusual enough situation, at least I've never experienced it within 20+ yrs
of internet access and web-based email. To avoid some issues, I decided to not use
an email client software, & so use a dedicated browser to login each time.

I am creating an applet and I want to use an image as a background to a jPanel. There is a jTextField on the panel that is hidden because the BG image overlaps it. I would like the image to be used as a background and only as a background. Any Suggestions? Duke Dollars will be awarded.

Working with Photoshop 7.0 trying to color correct and optimize an image of my son barefooting to prepare for giant vinyl print to create a stand up cut-out on a foam board.
I will attach 2 downsized images for comparison.
As you can see one image has nice smile but no sunlight and other image has great sunlight but no smile.
I need to optimize for CMYK printing the smiling image. I know a bit about levels, but don't know what to change for midtones, highlights, etc. to try and correct this smiling image as best possible.
Unfortunately I did not set up the Canon EOS Xsi camera to save RAW images at 17 megs and the boat owner is not wanting to go out again for another photo session. Original image is 4.5 megs jpg which I crop image, adjust histogram by "sliding in the sides", convert to CMYK, sharpen unmask at 98%, increase brightness with middle slider in histogram, expand size up to 72 inches tall by 54 inches wide and also set to 150 pixels per inch (may try 300), save as LZW TIFF.
After that image is like 400 megs, then import into illustrator CS and tile out just the face of a 72 inch X 54 inch and it's amazing pretty clear for 100:1 file size increase (13 X 9 inch sheet).
I have access to CS4 on Mac only - - don't know if CS4 Mac file will have any big advantages over my 7.0 in Windows . . .Hmmmm, wonder if anybody ever created a plug in for photoshop that allowed you to add more lighting to an image, as in light coming from behind the photographer - - like sunlight effects ?

Upon starting Mac shows image of a folder with ? inside, any help appreciated, thanks.
As stated above, when I start Mac it shows a white screen with an image of a folder with a ? inside it.
I have shut it down by holding the power button then pulled the power cord waited 10mins and restarted for the same result.

I unfortunately do not have a back up. It is in the hands of the repairer now, fingers crossed they can save my stuff.

How do I make a still image (photo) fit the length of the music? I record music and want to convert the tracks to a video file with a still image of my business logo in the background. On windows movie maker you could just select "fit to music" but this program isnt as easy to figure out! Any help?
Double-click on the still image in the project timeline to open the Inspector. In the Inspector, adjust the duration by typing in a new duration to match the length of your music. I think the limit for a still image is 10 minutes. If you need more than this, simply drag the image into the timeline again then adjust its duration. The two images will play seamlessly (no gap will be visible).

You can achieve more precision when entering durations by changing a preference in the menu item iMovie Preferences. Check (tick) the preference for Show Time As HH:MM:SS:frames. This will enable you to enter the duration of stills down to the frame level, rather than full seconds (NTSC is 30 frames per second; PAL is 25 fps). When entering times, type a colon between each time segment, such as 2:50:15, which represents 2 minutes 50 seconds and 15 frames. For 5 seconds 20 frames you would enter 5:20 and so forth.
Note that the music will only run to the length of the video in the timeline (in your case, the still images). So, after increasing the stills duration you will need to drag the end of the music track as far as required. The stills can be dragged inwards to reduce the duration if necessary.

In transferring a video from iPhone 4s to a flash drive then to a Axer FHD-45 pocket projector the image is upside down. It is right side up in the computor and the flash drive. Any help?
Have you tried transferringing the videos via usb (sinc you're having trouble transferring them with PhotoSync) as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 and just transferring the photos with PhotoSync?

I'm having trouble with my clone tool. When I am cloning it appears OK (the image within the brush circles is the correct colours) however once the cloning is done, it processes leaving me with a darkened blur. Any help with what's going on would be appreciated.
Which tool in Camera Raw, exactly? The Spot Removal Tool? Adjustment Brush?

My daughter's older Ipod Touch is having a problem with images becoming pixilated when taken from an e-mail and placed into her camera roll. ( She wants to put on Instagram ) Any help?
I think that may be a consequence of the email provider she is using. Some services (AOL is one example) inspect and modify email attachments, particularly photos, resulting in reduced resolution compared to the email that was sent.
The iPod does not do this. The resolution of the picture in the email she receives will be identical to what is imported. -
USB drive with install image is showing in Startup Manager on a Mac Pro, but wont boot. Showing circle with cross strip, and shut down automatically. USB device are made and work on two different MacBook Pro, but used on Mac Pro. Any help?
OS X installers have always been fairly specific, hardware-wise. I haven't read anything reflecting that situation with the Recovery HD, so it may be that the Recovery HD created for the MacBook Pro does not have the necessary drivers for the Mac Pro. Obviously, nothing definitive here, but a possibility.

2) There is no error message. Acrobat simply closes on me without warning. The program stays open for a brief time, but then closes at random.
3) I have tried running it as an admin, but it does not change anything. The program still closes without my consent.
4) I have tried installing and reinstalling multiple times. It does not work even if I do not get the update (11.0.08)

You can get the correct dump by going to the location referenced in this blog excerpt:

So, you need to use 32bit debugger, if you would like to collect a dump of a 32bit process. So, if your process is 32bit, then you need to run 32bit version of the task manager on a 64bit OS. 32bit task manager is located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder and the name of the file is taskmgr.exe.

Hi, I recently downloaded photoshop elements for dummies from ibooks to use on my ipad, the book refers to pictures throughout however what are supposed to be pics and diagrams only show up as a ?. Im unsure why and dont know how to get the pictures to show. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Starting up into Safe Mode does several things:
1 It forces a directory check of the startup volume.
2 It loads only required kernel extensions (some of the items in /System/Library/Extensions).
3 In Mac OS X v10.3.9 or earlier, Safe Mode runs only Apple-installed startup items (such items may be installed either in /Library/StartupItems or in /System/Library/StartupItems; these are different than user-selected account login items).
4 It disables all fonts other than those in /System/Library/Fonts (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
5 It moves to the Trash all font caches normally stored in /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS/(uid)/ , where (uid) is a user ID number such as 501 (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
6 It disables all startup items and login items (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
7 Mac OS X v10.5.6 or later: A Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache at (/var/db/dyld/). A cache with issues may cause a blue screen on startup, particularly after a Software Update. Restarting normally recreates this cache.”
As I don’t know much about the technical aspects of computers, I don’t really understand the first answer, and it sounds like following it might produce unwanted changes.
But I understand your questions, so I’ll try to answer them;
"loading from any Project" means that I encounter the problem when I’m using a project, possibly after/because I’ve left the Mac on overnight, and/or I’ve made a lot of adjustments, and, once the problem is there, it happens in any other project which I open – the images load then disappear.
I can see images in the Browser, so it only happens in the Viewer(s).
I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean by: “If you select "Photos" from near the top of the Library tab of the Inspector, does it show you all of your Images?”. I am a newcomer to Aperture, so I don’t know what some of the buttons are for yet, but when I want to look at and adjust my pictures, I import them, as referenced images, then Aperture creates a folder/project in the Library. When I click on that Project (when it’s working properly), all the images appear in the Browser or the Viewers – without me needing to “select Photos from near the top of the Library tab of the Inspector”. I selected it and looked at all the items in the dropdown menu, but none of them seems to offer the option to ‘show all the images’. So I’m not sure how to answer your question except to say that – yes, I can see all the pictures in the Browser or the Viewers (when it’s working properly), but I don’t seem to need to use the Photos button to achieve this.
Did Aperture work before?
Yes it worked ok for a while, but I only purchased it on 24th May.
If I understand correctly, the difference between thumbnail and preview is that the thumbnail is what I see when the “Loading” wheel is turning, and the disappearance of this wheel after a few seconds means that I am now looking at the preview (also, the thumbnail cannot be adjusted).
So I think the problem occurs when the thumbnail has finished loading; the viewer going blank/grey might mean that it is not showing the preview.
But I have not changed the default Preview settings in Aperture Preferences.

I have noticed another problem: I cannot apply the same rating to multiple images: following the instructions, I select a group of contiguous (or non- contiguous) images, choose a selection eg “5stars” using the keyboard, but the stars only appear in the last selected image – even though all the images are still showing as selected.”

Is there a way to change the speed of a keyframe zoom effect on still photos? Clip duration doesn't seem to change the zoom speed at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Open the video animation (Control-v). In transform>All click and drag the X and Y keyframes (which should be together) – left to speed up the scale change and right to slow it down . It may take a little practice to get this to work (I seldom get it right the first try).
You could do this individually for each clip, or you wanted to adjust multiple clips you can copy and paste attributes to your other other clips.

So I'm kind of a newb.. I can do basic forms but I need to set up a form field drop down box that will give me the ability to load images correlating to the users choice.
