Any new window floating options on the horizon?

Curious if there is a native window floating option on the horizon, and/or if there are any new 3rd party apps for this? It seems "afloat" is pretty old and possibly unsupported
I don't need window floating often, but when I need it, it's sure nice to have

Seems like, IIRC, CL never says anything about new drivers till AFTER their released. Be nice to know if something was in the pipe but highly unlikely they will say when cause if something happens and it gets delayed ppl will complain, even if delay is for a good reason. How do I get the "all floating" option in the "layout" to work? Something happened that it stopped working. I like to have several images on the screen at the same time.

I like to work with several images at the same time on the photoshop elements 12 "expert" screen and used to be able to have the "all floating" option in the "layout", thereby altering each image differently on the screen. I'm an artist and view multiple images while painting. But now that option doesn't work for some reason. Help!

Editor preferences>general, turn Allow Floating documents, but then you may need to go to window>images>float all in windows to make it work for currently open files.

There are several possible reasons why the new window opens in the background and not in the foreground by default.
# another installed program is causing this
# the Firefox main window is set to Always on Top
# probably a Windows 7 bug

What you can do is
# update your Windows 7 to the latest security patches
# open Mozilla Firefox in Safe Mode (see KB article [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]])
# evaluate the other programs installed on your computer
# open new links on a new tab

Open a new window, draw boxes in the window, and communicate between the two windows

I'm going to research this, but figured I'd jump start here in case someone can give me a quick link or point me in the right direction on how to do this while I'm looking. This is an area of Flex I haven't hit on yet.
Basically I need to have my flex app (AIR Application) open a new window, allow the user to draw a box on that new window, and then pass the info of the box (X and Y, Width and Height) back to the main window.
I've never done any of that and am going to try to find out how, but if someone could point me here before I find it online, that would help a great deal, kind of in a time crunch.... thanks.

You can open the new window as a TitleWindow popup. You can pass info back to the main app using mx.core.Application.application.
In main app:

Looking ahead, it is best to pass information between the main app and components using custom components. Below systemManager, popups and the main app are in different display lists, so add event listeners for custom events to systemManager. My Flex Cookbook post on custom events shows this:

FF4 wont move a tab to a new window. The new window opens fine but the existing tab stays on the current window. What's wrong?

I just upgraded to firefox 4. I'm using session manager extension.
I have multiple tabs open in my firefox window and I want to move some tabs to a new window. I followed the support guide which tells how to do this, however, when I drag the tab off the current window, the new window gets opened as it should, but the tab I was trying to move stays in the current window and does not get moved to the new one. Any ideas what the problem is?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Javascript window.open in BSP: new window is opened behind the main window

Hello,
I use following code to open a new window in my BSP application:
          window.open("<%= controller->display_url%>").focus();
The new windows is openned up, but hide behind the main window, I need the new window to stay at the front, any idea?
On one computer running IE7, the new windows is opened and stay at the front. But not for all other computers running IE6.

It's normal for links to open in the same tab as you browse if you left-click. You can Ctrl+click or middle click to open a link in a new tab. Are either of those broken?
Some sites let you use a regular left click to open a link in a new tab (example: Google search settings), and some add-ons may change link behavior. Can you check whether one of your add-ons has been disabled?
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
Also, if you use the Ask toolbar, try disabling it and see whether that makes any difference.

You are not running as administrator, I think, which may be required and the only way to properly work and register. Also check for compatibility mode settings, UAC and DEP, all of which may require to be adjusted for a legacy app like PS CS2 to run properly. Also turn off Aero and switch to a conventional visual theme. The brush issue may be related to that or is a more generic problem with your graphics card and mouse config, but since you didn't provide any info on that, it will be hard for anyone to advise.

Finder opens a new window with tabs in the last closed window loaded automatically

As the title says, I've found this happens more than a few times for some change. Maybe every time, I didn't count. Say, I closed a window with 3 tabs opened, then next time when I click finder to open a new window, I will find the 3 tabs loaded in the new window automatically. I am wondering if it is a new feature or bug. If it is not right, would anyone give me some suggestion to correct, if possible? Thanks.

Yup. I think bring convenience or not is supposed to be the fundamental difference bugs and features.
Convenience also comes with users' habit. I am sure I will get used to the new way as time goes by.

Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.
