Any possibility to implement a destructor in abap-objects

we have a class that when generated creates open a logger-handle via the normal SAP functions. If this class gets destroyed (i.e. if the session in this case is closed) there is no return to any calling point possible.
So what I would need here would be a destructor in which I could close the log-handle again and this way exit with all things done in an orderly way.
Dumb thing is couldnt find anything about destructors in AbapObjects - so fear they cant be dont? Or am I hopefully wrong on this?

thx for the answer but I think theres some misunderstanding...dont want a method from outside I can call to destroy my object (free)...I need a method (like the counterpart to a constructor) that gets automatically called WHEN the instance is destroyed (like the constructor is when the instance is created).
As I said problem is, when the class gets destroyed I dont have the possibility outside of it to e.g. close the logger-handle.

  • How to implement Strategy pattern in ABAP Objects?

    Hello,
    I have a problem where I need to implement different algorithms, depending on the type of input. Example: I have to calculate a Present Value, sometimes with payments in advance, sometimes payment in arrear.
    From documentation and to enhance my ABAP Objects skills, I would like to implement the strategy pattern. It sounds the right solution for the problem.
    Hence I need some help in implementing this pattern in OO. I have some basic OO skills, but still learning.
    Has somebody already implemented this pattern in ABAP OO and can give me some input. Or is there any documentation how to implement it?
    Thanks and regards,

  • ABAP OO: How to implement a Destructor

    Hello.
    I implemented a ABAP-OO-Class, which supports (above others) the following methods:
    NEW -> Create new Object in DB
    DELETE -> Delete Object from DB
    In case the method DELETE is called i want to 'destroy' the object instance of this class. Currently i worked around this problem by CLEARing all instance attributes.
    Is there a way to implement a DESTRUCTOR, which really destroys the object?

  • ABAP Objects Design/Organization Issues

    Hi,
    I'm trying to design and implement reusable components using ABAP Objects. I'm familliar with OO concepts and have developed a few applications using C++ and Java.
    I'm trying to organize my classes into separate source files (include program in ABAP).
    ie.
    <b>include program a</b>
    CLASS a DEFINITION.
    ENDCLASS.
    <b>include program b</b>
    INCLUDE a.
    CLASS b DEFINITION.
    data x TYPE REF TO a.
    ENDCLASS.
    Lets say I want to write a report that uses both objects a and b. That means I have to include both programs. but since program b includes program a. including both programs a and b in my report would produce redeclarations of class a.
    <b>executable program c</b>
    REPORT c.
    INCLUDE a.
    INCLUDE b.   " error: redeclaration of class a
    DATA: x TYPE REF TO a.
          y TYPE REF TO b.
    This bothers me. Although it would be possible to <b>just include program b</b>, it would be a bit awkward since, i dont care if class a was used in the implementation of class b. Implementation should be abstracted from the user. Besides, everything should be explicit.
    Is there a way to organize things as such? Would importing these classes globally would solve the problem.
    Thanks.

    Emir,
    The way we do OO Programming in ABAP and other languages differ.
    In your case, it might be a better option to create these classes as global classes, so that you will not have this issue. You can SE24 to do the same.

    Ravi

  • Link for studing ABAP objects

    hi all,
        i know the concept of object . can any once send some demo programs of ABAP object (showing  how to implement )also please send some good links for ABAP objects.
    send to e-mail : [email protected]
    cheers

    Create a program (e.g. an executable or a subroutine pool) in SE38.
    Write the following code:
    <b>PROGRAM my_oo_test.
    CLASS my_first_class DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        METHODS main.
    ENDCLASS.
    CLASS my_first_class IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD main.
        MESSAGE 'Hello World!' TYPE 'I'.
      ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.</b>
    Create a transaction code in SE93 and choose OO-Transaction there. Switch of "OO transaction model", enter the name of your class, method, and program in the fields and save.
    Now you can call the transaction. It shows "Hello World".

  • Is it possible to implement a truncation of text (a "more/less") function for paragraphs in PDFs?

    I work at a center for public service and we're trying to make our service handbook more user friendly. However, we're not experts when it comes to using Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
    Instead of having to scroll through the many pages of the handbook, we would like to implement a "more/less" function or a truncation of text. Are we able to do this for a PDF?
    It looks something similar to this: http://henrik.nyh.se/examples/truncator/[1]
    At this point however, we're not sure if it's even possible to implement this function into a PDF. Is it possible or are we just wasting our time trying to find a way to do it?
    Thanks for any advice you can give!

    Not really an option for PDFs. You can have stuff on layers that appears or disappears, but unlike web pages the page layout is fixed: everything stays where it is on a page. For more/less to work nicely you need a format where stuff can move down/up to make room or close gaps.

  • Any possibility for loading and changing XFL/... data at run time of Flash app?

    Hi everybody,
    I have a quick and general question for the following case:
    I want to produce some transitions and effects for a kinetic typography project in After Effects and then import these parts into Flash Professional via XFL and Bridge.
    So my actual problem is this one: my Flash application should be able to load these made transitions and effects dynamically at run-time and not from a pre-configured timeline made upfront. Because there should be dynamic text fields in these XFL data from After Effects I also need to be loaded at run-time for the kinetic typography thing.
    So is there any possible way to do / load / change the dynamic text fields in these XFL data or the order of all transitions and effects in Flash Professional at run-time or anything else?
    I know this is a special question, but I hope there would be an answer...
    Thanks for your help in advance
    Regards,
    Kevin

    Something along this model is what I had in mind:
    public class MainPanel extends JPanel
        private DrawPanel drawPanel = new DrawPanel();
        private JComboBox comboLeft = new JComboBox();
        private JComboBox comboRight = new JComboBox();
        public MainPanel()
            // add drawpanel and comboboxes to main panel
            // add item listener to comboboxes
        private class ComboListener implements ItemListener
            @Override
            public void itemStateChanged(ItemEvent arg0)
                if (...) // both comboboxes changed
                    // get values from comboboxes
                    drawPanel.setValues(left, right); // call drawpanel's method
    public class DrawPanel extends JPanel
        private int left = 0;
        private int right = 0;
        public DrawPanel()
            //setPreferredSize(....); // set panel size
        @Override
        protected void paintComponent(Graphics g)
            super.paintComponent(g);
            //... draw the line depending on the left and right value
        public void setValues(int left, int right)
            this.left = left;
            this.right = right;
            repaint();
    }

  • Is it possible to implement iSupplier Portal for Employee type Vendors

    We have iSupplier portal for external suppliers which we customized to show only invoices and payment advices.

    We want employees use iSupplier portal to view their expense(payments).

    If you are using presentation API then as Nagarajan said, you can use Endeca Dimension Search to power your TypeAhead/Predictive search.  Below are a few pointers that may help.
    Trigger typeahead only after user enters a few characters (ideally after 2-3 characters).
    Introduce a delay of a few milliseconds between your Endeca Searches.
    Limit the Dimensions to include using the Di parameter.
    Control the number of dimVals returned and other Dimension behavior using Drc and Dp
    Use Drc (to evaluate InStock products) in a seperate query with D=* to get a list of all valid DimVal IDs. Cache them and use this list to remove any out of stock dimVal IDs from the real query results.
    Use Dk and Dx to control match mode and your relevance ranking strategy to sort your results.
    Oracle Commerce Services also offers a prepackaged service called Endeca Predictive Search (EPS) module that can be quickly implemented to power TypeAhead. EPS provides other configurable features like caching, record search, frequent matches ,etc.  Reach out to your Oracle representative if that intersts you.
    All the best! I hope this helps.
    Best,
    Kaush
    P.S. Google limits the search result to 4 which, works for them and might work for you but to exploit the full potential of Predictive Search based on Endeca, try HomeDepot.com, Staples.com, etc. for inspiration.

  • Is there a possibility to implement a Portal Services by EJB Bean?

    Let suppose we have a Portal Service class ITestPortalService and EJB called TestEJB
    Can we do this in this way or any other way?
    public class TestBean implements javax.ejb.SessionBean, TestPortalService

    Question: Is there a possibility to implement a Portal Services by EJB Bean?
    I don't think you can do this directly as the portal service is maintained and called from the irj (portal) application, while the EJB beans are called directly from the web application server (as far as I know).
    The only think you could do is to have the Portal Service be  a bridge, which basically only calls the EJB and returns the results.

  • Is it possible to implement the drill down and navigate reorts in narrative

    any body pse help me to find 'is it possible to implement the drill down and navigate reports in narrative view'

    Hi user12255470,
    Go URLs are a way to directly call an Answer Request or Dashboard Page via a URL. In addition, you can even pass parameters in the URL as filters. GO URLs are used will you want to allow a user to drill into detail by clicking on a static text. It also allows other tools to drill into OBIEE.
    Here's an example GO URL: http://LOCALHOST:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/users/administrator/OTN Tests/Page Test&Style=oracle10&Format=PDF
    I'll break down each piece
    LOCALHOST: This is the URL for your OBIEE web host
    :9704: This is the typical port for OBIEE installs (sometimes 7777)
    ?Go: This is where the it's gets the name "GO URL". It's the GO command.
    &Path= : This is the full path of the report. In my case, it's in the administrator folder in a sub folder called OTN Test. The report itself is called Page Test.
    &Style=: This sets the style, or the look and feel, on how the report is presented. The default is oracle10.
    &Format=: You can set this to default the presentation. I set it to PDf so that a PDF will generated.
    Good luck and if you found this post useful, please award points!
    Best regards!
    -Joe

  • Is there any possibility of connection between QM notifications and the WL in Collection Management?

    Dear ALL,
    Our duty is to find any possibility to show (and to manage, of course) on the Collection WorkList, not only open items already registered in FI-AR, but also any notification registered under the QM module, bearing in mind that it is not an open item, yet.
    Is there any possibility?
    Thanks in advance.

    in short the answer is no.
    You could look at customer disputed objects and using them, but you would need to re-key the data, there is no standard way of transfering data from QM to create  a dispute.
