Any troubleshooting tips for sync issues?

Hi,
Very new to Mobile Server. Started work on a new project that uses mobile server and we are running into a sync issue. The sync was working but we have hit an issue now.
Not sure of the cause and looking for pointers on where to look, what are some common problems, etc.

which version are you using.
your question is very general, perhaps some specific details would help, e.g. olite version, client type, error message etc
generally we had many issues with
connectivity especially through gprs (3g) , we used specific sim cards in handhelds that created a vpn style secure connection to the server and although the connection was established some times the packages size was greater so we had to adjust the connection settings on the device so that olite works during sync.
we had a lot of cases where olite was getting out of sync and was forcing a full refresh, thus losing the client's data. some times the data was entered in the error queue , an email was send to the admin but noone was watching anyway.
and many others.
check connection, check integrity (make sure that not 2 clients change the same table rows) make sure the server doesnt change parts of the database that the clients will change too (thus youll get conflicts).
make sure the sync remains stable, sometimes if you lose connection during a sync a full refresh might be needed (actually a patch was supposed to fix this)
we had issues with the sequences also but mainly because of bad design from our part, which we fixed later on.
etc...please provide some info on what error you are getting.
in general if you are getting an error code then you are probably going to find the solution. check the message reference in help to see what the error means, then try to see on the client what changes were made. check error queue/perhaps a log? server traces might help(might). also it depends what kind of sync are you making, your own or using the olite sync

AI was just wondering if anyone had come up with any new tips for making Garageband run quicker? Theres such a delay form when I move the cursor or press play to when anything actually happens.

I'm not using any effects/plugins (yet) on my song, but will start mixing EQing/using plugins soon so need to try and stop
It really slowed down when I recorded (and copy pasted) a load of handclaps into it over the entire song and onto multiple tracks.

Ive got 120GB of space left on my 500GB hard drive

When accessing Big Pond Security through Telstra My Account, the computers I had downloaded Big Pond Security to used to be identified by name. Now only told I have downloaded to 4 computers, with 4 icons, but nothing to identify which icon belongs to which computer.Decided to rename the computer I am currently logged into, and reinstall. Do that but then do not have product key.

Hello all ,
I have a program which is executed as a background job for every 15 minutes . Now my requirement is If this batch job is successfully finished, i have to capture that time and date at which the batch job is successfully finished and update the corresponding time and date in a ZTABLE .
In order to achieve this , i have created a separate program which will also be running in background.in this program , using the table TBTCO, i m getting the last date and last time at which the batch job is successfully finished and modifying the ZTABLE accordingly
Is there any alternate solution for this ?

Hi gpavansap,
When you define background job in SM36, your first step should be the program which you have scheduled now.
Create a second step in the same job with another program which would just update system date and time to the ZTABLE. No need to read TBTCO and all.
The second step would immediately execute as soon as the first step ended successfully.
If you don't want to create a separate program. you can have a check-box "Update ZTable Only" in the selection screen of the first program itself. If this check-box is selected, the program should only update ZTABLE and do nothing else. Create a variant of your selection screen with this check-box selected and schedule this variant as "Second Step" of your back-ground job.

Troubleshooting iphone + computer sync issues

my iphone 4s doesn't appear as a device in itunes when plugged into either of my pc's usb. my other apple devices do. i have followed all of the troubleshooting on the apple site. i have ensured that my usb ports are operating properly. the apple store confirmed that there are no hardware issues with my phone. i'm at the end of my rope. any advice?

Thanks, yes, I have done this but find that syncing is still lithargic and not all items are synced. In particular it is very important that my calander events are propagated and there is often a large lag time between the iphone and computer sync. I'm syncing using the Wi-Fi setup. Comments?

Apple TV not working correctly. Any troubleshooting tips?

I have had Apple TV for about 8 months now. No major problems until now. Netlfix won't stream neither will already purchased iTunes content. Netflix hasn't worked in the past and has been glitchy at times but has usually corrected itself within a day. This has been about a week now, and then iTunes also started acting up. My internet connection is fine. My netflix account and iTunes all work on other devices. I have logged out of Netflix and logged back in as well as unplugging the Apple TV and re-booting it. Same problem. Any tips on what to do next? Thanks. I don't know if it's Apple TV or Apple TV 2, but it was purchased in August 2012 if that helps.

I too am wondering if it's the 2 year old TV that may be an issue however I also don't have an easy way to test that either. I have emailed Sharp to ask them if they know of any issues with my version of the Aquos but haven't heard from them. I also verified there are no firmware updates for the TV.
I don't have any other HDMI sources to try with the TV and also don't have another TV with a HDMI port to try the AppleTV with. I am going to try another cable. If that doesn't solve it, I think I'll have to take the AppleTV to the Apple Store to see if they will test the HDMI port for me so that at least I'm sure that the unit is fully operational.

TIP FOR SYNC IBOOKS WITH IPHONE (4 AT LEAST but assuming for others too)

having trouble sync your ibooks with ya iphone well here what i did and it seems to have worked
plugged in my iphone 4 into my computer allowed it to sync as normal then go into ibooks tab then de-sync all books msg will appear u will lose all books on iphone do u wish to contintue select yes then await a few mins to allow it to finish
then disconnect device from PC laptop whatever,
shut down itunes relaunch it then re plug your phone in and re-sync with sync ibooks as normal
depending on amount of books u wish to sync they will SLOWLY appear in your iphone
(ive got 208 ibooks it taken it almost 20 mins to do that but my ibooks is yet again filling up with books ive bought (about time))
important dont assume it has sync
KEEP THE PHONE PLUGGED IN EVEN IF ITUNES HAS SAID IT TRANSFERED OVER ..... INSTEAD KEEP CHECKING THE IBOOKS APP FOR CONFIRMATION AS THE PHONE SYNC IS MUCH SLOWER THEN THE INFO .... once all the books u want have synced visually in ibooks app on phone then disconnect
you can also drag the book icon from your itunes lib into the phone but that not 100% garenteed to work as ive found out (20 odd times with ONE book)

I don't even care at this point. I just need the phone! I'm on a black/crapberry due to selling my 3g. I was really wanting the white, but quite honestly, now I just want a phone, any color...doesn't matter. With all of the drama going on at my BB where I can't even speak the mobile manager as she is "overwhelmed" anything at this point, referring to the phone in my hands is good news for me.
I do hope however that those of you that want the coveted white do get it. After all of this drama, they should make a movie...

Any standard IDOC for Goods Issue and Goods Receipt ?

Seeking the experts advise on the following questions.could someone help us please..
1. We are in need to post an IDOC which should do a Goods Receipt against the open PO - We are struggling to identify the right IDOC and its process code - Do we have any IDOC for that?
2. We have to do a Goods Issue by posting an IDOC.Please help me in finding out the right IDOC (with Process code) for GI posting.
We also have a plan to use ORDERS05 IDOC for GI posting by writing the customized process code (considering the future use of ORDERS05 to create SO). You could throw some light on this if possible.

Starting a documentary, using PPro for the 1st time, any pro tips for workflow?

I'm a documentary director and editor that is making the big switch for my next project. For some background, I'm coming from the world of FCP 7 working with p2 DVCpro footage off a Panasonic HPX camera, multiple editors who each have separate systems with duplicates of media to work from, and usually finish using Color, outputting to HDCAM (SR if necessary).
For the new project the two editors will be working on Mac Pro Towers, OS 10.6.8, Dual Core 3Ghz Intel, 9GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5770. The towers were bought in late 2007, so we can't upgrade to Mountain Lion because our chipset is barely outdated.
We will be shooting the entirety of the doc on c300s, and eventually c100s.
One of the main attractions for our switch is that the c300 footage drops in Premiere natively, and we will not need to duplicate our storage space to create 422 Pro Res clips.
Is this a mistake? Does the long GOP format of the canon's mpeg format prove too incompatible for multiclipping, logging, cutting, and then color correct?
What do I need to do to ensure that each editor can open each other's project files as seamlessly as possible? How do we avoid waiting for the audio to load in each time we pass project files back and forth?
Because logging and organization are so important to us with the amount of footage we use, are there any bugs I should know of that delete markers or screw up the sync of multiclips?

Try doing a hard reset on the phone;
1. Hold Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time;
2. Wait for the Apple logo to appear (ignore the slide to Power Off option)
3. Let go of the buttons when you see Apple on the screen
4. Allow iPhone to reboot; and try to open the apps again.
If that doesn't work; you will have to try a restore in iTunes; and then sync the apps back the phone after the restore.

I initially spent a decent amount of time, too much time, pondering and trying to select a nice theme. Once I realized it, I thought I should just go with the default 2012 theme and focus on simplicity. The result is a much cleaner site. I figure that later, some day, I can actually have a pro design make the appropriate changes.

Keep and monitor your logs. Make and keep multiple remote backups, particularly of your core data and database contents, and possibly also your log files. Help Me Troubleshoot iPhone 5 Sync Issue

When I try to add a file or playlist, or sync, both iTunes and my computer become stuck. The only way to get anything back to normal is to ctrl-alt-delete and end iTunes. Even getting ctrl-alt-del to appear is a lengthy endevour. Once I do end the iTunes process, then my computer comes back to life.
iTunes seems to be acting fine when I plug the iphone in, as long as I don't try to sync.
I am at a loss of where to even begin. Please suggest some things for me to try.
I get no errors or any other clues . . . just a serious jam up.
If I have to restore the iphone, I'll need a checklist of things I need to do, so I don't loose anything.
If I have to uninstall/reinstall iTunes, again, I'll need a checklist of things to do like:
Backup library (. . . over 80 gigs! . . . lucky me)
Deauthorize device (can I even do that if I can't sync?!)
Again, I'm not even sure of what the right questions are . . .
iTunes version: 11.0.5.5
Device: iPhone 5
Device OS: 6.0 (10A405)
Computer OS: Windows 7

FYI, I did just turn off the phone and restart it . . . hoping that might work some magic. Unfortunately, it didn't help.

Troubleshooting tips for installing Telstra Online Security

Following are some common scenarios you may encounter while installing Telstra Online Security.
Possible active x issues
When Clicking on the ActiveX download bar, I see the option "Run add-on" instead of "Install ActiveX"? This occurs if you have previously installed or attempted to install BigPond Security on this computer. Because the Active X component is already installed you can choose the option "Run Add-on" to progress with the installation.
When I click to download the ActiveX component, I am taken back to the beginning of the installation Wizard.
This occurs when your browser has installed the ActiveX component, but cannot run the newly installed Active X component and needs to refresh itself. Continue with the Installation Web Wizard if you have been directed back to the first page.
Other known issues
Whilst installing Telstra Online Security you may experience issues which can cause the Windows Based Installation Wizard (WBIW) to fail.
Fail to load ActiveX download bar
WBIW freezes during System Check Stage
Fails to download Telstra Online Security components
General Internet Explorer error messages during WBIW
Perform Windows Update and remove conflicting software
Prior to trying any of the solutions please ensure you have:
Completed the Windows Update process, and
Removed any conflicting 3rd Party applications.
Resolving Issues
You should only perform the following for issues which cannot be resolved by updating Windows and removing conflicting software:
Step 1
Please download the file FixIE.bat file (Registers Internet Explorer and MSXML files needed by the Web Installer)
Step 2
Close all opened Internet Explorer windows
Step 3
Double click the FixIE.bat file
Step 4
Re-launch Internet Explorer application, and follow previously used link to launch the Telstra Online Security WBIW and follow required steps.
