Any way to get "old school" downloads?

I have used Firefox for years, Mozilla before that. Back in the day when you started a download it would pop up a download window that you could move or minimize and then you could close the browser and the download would continue.
Ever since the download manager has come along, this behavior has disappeared and frankly, it's extremely annoying. I don't want downloads to load the download manager need a download manager, I don't need to see a list of every file I've ever downloaded. I don't want the browser to prompt me when I close it if I want to continue downloading. All I need is the nice little progress bar for the download that is currently running and I want to be able to close the browser window without cancelling the download progress, pretty much how it worked in version 1.0 was simple download perfection.
This "classic" interface was simple and useful. Sure download managers have their uses, but we should not be forced to use them. If the manager can't be turned off, does anybody know of a plugin that restores classic style behavior?

Just downloaded and installed the final version of Firefox 26.
It is now impossible to the restore the old download manager window.
Setting browser.download.useToolkitUI in about:config to either true or false makes no difference.
Until someone writes an add-on to fix this, we are now stuck with Mozilla's animated green ghost answer to Clippy, The Microsoft Office Assistant every time we download anything and the ability to monitor downloads in a small separate window has evaporated.
Firefox is wonderful but removing the option for a User to change this is most certainly not.
Shame on you, Mozilla.
For me, for all of us teachers and our students here at this school, it is avoid Firefox 26 and go back to Firefox 25.0.1 until a solution is found.

The best is a full clean sheet installation. Or you can attempt :
1. Use the CD and select Repair, which is actually reinstallation on the same partition.
2. put back the HDD on KT4 Ultra where it works. Goto Device Manager -> System -> Microsoft ACPI Compliant System. Uninstall it. You'll asked to restart the PC, let it restart but until the POST screen, shut the PC down, don't let it go into Windows. Put the HDD at 845PE.

If the iPad can't make the repeat you want you can make the appointment in something else and the calendar will respect that repeat even if it can't make it.

CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

Unless you have a backup copy or can use the drive from the old computer in an external enclosure, no.

If you are using the computer that you normally sync with, it should sync without entering the passcode. However, if this is not the computer you normally sync with, you cannot get past the passcode, it has to be entered.

I did buy the server app, went to the app store to download it. This system I'm using for downloads is Snow Leopard 10.6.8, it shows that I can download it but only as an Install which says I need 10.8. I can't seem to find a way for it to just download as a package or .dmg file so that I can copy it to DVD/CD or flash drive.

I believe that feature was added in order to reduce wasted costs to the Podcaster.
Podcasts incur costs - that have to be paid for, by someone. That cost will be the cost of hosting the Podcast on a server somewhere and more crucially (with regard to your point), the cost of the Podcast being downloaded to your computer. Every download costs the Podcaster money (typically, charged by bytes downloaded).
If that Podcaster pays for the whole thing personally, obviously they want to keep down any unnecessary cost to themselves. If the Podcaster is earning money for his or her Podcast (typically from advertising within the programme) then obviously, the advertiser only wants to pay for advertisements heard by listeners. So a download, not heard by the downloader, is waste of the Podcaster's money or no payment from the advertiser.
My own experience is that I only have to resume downloading once per programme. I'm usually several episodes behind on two different Podcasts that I follow, but I do not recall having to repeat the resume Podcast after that first time.

You might be able to remove the recent backup from the backups folder and the old one should be usable at that point

Thank you so much! It's updating now. I'm hoping that once the update is finished that it will sync like normal as well. Of course I'm still a bit confused/concerned about how it refused to update on it's own, but for now that's not a problem. Hopefully from now on there won't be any more problems.

No. When you restored the backup of the old computer it wiped out everything on the phone.
