  • Can any web service be called Asynchronously

    Kindly tell me if Asynchronous call can be made to any web service or can we prevent our web service from being called asynchronously and if yes,how??

    It depends on if you need response. CORBA has one way methods which generally called Asynchronously. You can always simulate Asynchronously call by wrapping a caller in a thread. wsimport supports Asynchronously calling attribute and can generate client artifacts accordingly.

  • Using Web Service from LiveCycle PDF Dynamic Form.

    I have developed Staff Attendance Sheet about 7 years ago using Microsoft Office Web Componenets Data Access Pages (OWC DAP).
    See image below of the current report using OWC DAP:
    http://bit.ly/cAfeYs
    Since we are moving our legacy systems to SAP, this report will have to be re-implemented using Adobe LiveCycle PDF which is connecting to Web Service over SAP Systems (since OWC does not connect to Web Service).
    The SAP development team have developed the initial webservice which generates the required data.
    I have developed the initial version of the LiveCycle PDF, which can be downloaded from this link:
    http://bit.ly/9KBgm0
    The following is a screen snapshot of the LC Desinger Form:http://bit.ly/cxMK62
    When the web service is executed from inside PDF the result looks as follows:
    http://bit.ly/cacbCg
    The webservice accepts the following required parameters:
    1. Period: YYYYMM. User Specified Value.
    2. Staff ID: 9999999. It must be supplied automatcially to the web service and it must be the Windows ID of the User Logged In to Windows
    Domain.
    Other parameters are optional.
    Assumptions:
    ==========
    1. I am not using any Adobe Forms Server Technology. I can use LiveCycle Desinger ES2 and LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server.
    2. I can alse develop using .NET to get the Logged In User ID (Windows), generate the XDP from ASPX Page and attach the XML to the XDP.
    3. We are using IE8 with Adobe Reader 9 Plugin (IE add-on) to display LiveCycle PDF inside IE.
    Questions:
    ========
    1. First time the webservice is executed, I will get a prompt to allow/deny execution of the webservice. This is a security issue here, becuase we do not want any user to know the link to the Web Service. How we can hide the link to the webservice and prevent any user from getting the link ?
    2. How I can stop the Prompt to Allow/Deny execution to the Web Service for good ? As you know, users will get confused, and when we launch this PDF, it will generate a lot of calls to the Service Desk (more than 1000 users).
    3. The Web Service uses Simple User Name/Password for authentication to run the webservice. I need to embed the User Name/Password inside
    the PDF, and also prevent any user for getting them, how ?
    4. I want to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Web Service Automatically which is the Logged In User ID (Windows). This is the same value of the "Login Name" which can be accessed using Acrobat JavaScript. But the problem, this script must be trusted, and it will be a long story. Any ideas how to implement this requirement using simple methods ?
    5. If I manage to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Webservice automatically (Logged In User ID), also, I want to prevent the user from sending a different user ID, ie, prevent him from using Import Data to Form to specify a Different User ID for the Webservice Parameter. How ?
    I appreciate your help if you have any ideas about the above.
    Tarek.

    Hi Tarek,
    First of all, Thank for your replying.
    I have developing Adobe LiveCycle xdp form with a button. The SAP Web Service will be called when the button is pressed.
    Before that, I ‘m able to call another ASP.NET web services by using SOAP.request call. However, when I apply the code to call SAP web service, it doesn’t work. I checked that the web service is valid. And I found that there is something wrong when implementing the SOAP.request call. But I have no idea what wrong is it. So, I beg your help
    The following is the code in the click event of the button:
    //mainData.sfMain.Button7[1]::click - (JavaScript, client)
        var webServiceEndPoint = "http://xxxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DEDB492BB032E7F1B09F001CC4FBCEC9/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?s ap-client=300";
        var staffIDInput = "9999999";
        var oAuthenticator = {
        Username: "usr",
        Password: "pw"
    app.alert("1");
        var response = SOAP.request({
           bEncoded: false,
           cResponseStyle: SOAPMessageStyle.Message,
           cURL: webServiceEndPoint,
           oRequest: {"urn:Z_RFC_GET_STAFF_BANK_INFO":{A_STAFF_ID: staffIDInput}},
             cAction: "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions",
            oAuthenticate: oAuthenticator
    app.alert("2");

  • Using SharePoint Lists.AddAttachments web service in LiveCycle

    Hello everyone,
    I have implemented a workflow process that saves data from a PDF form to a SharePoint list, using its Lists.UpdateListItems web service.  This works fine with no issues.  Now, I am trying to take this a step further by also attaching the associated PDF form to the list item, using the AddAttachments web service, but have been unsuccessful.  I keep getting an empty web response back.
    Has anyone been able to use this web service successfully within LiveCycle, particularly with PDF documents?  Please let me know, any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    cdmh

    Hi rdoe,
    Do you have any update for this issue?
    Whether you checked as Dats said.
    In addition, if you have found a solution for this issue, please share it, it will be beneficial to others in this forum who meet the same issue in the future.

  • Is there any Web Service to create Internal Order?

    Hi,
    I have to find out a suitable Web Service which can create internal order. I have searched in SOAMANAGER but did not find any such WS. Does anybody have an idea whether there is any such WS?

    Hi Tirth,
    If you are using a bapi for webservice then these threads may help you.
    How to create WebService from BAPIs
    How To Expose BAPI As a Webservise
    If you are creating your own webservice then create an application in java,then expose it as webservice.

  • Any web services used by InfoView in BO XI 3.1?

    We're in the midst of upgrading from BO XI r2 to BO XI 3.1 and will be deploying InfoView as a Java EE application.  Does the InfoView application depend on any BO web services?  We'll be deploying InfoView to the Internet and have requirements for exposing web services to the internet.

    Hi,
    Infoview applications are not based on any BO webservice rather built on top of SDK's. There is an application called dwsbobje which is a Web Service and if you take care of firewall and all sceurity aspects it could be exposed to internet.
    Regards,
    Ramu.

  • Two web services in a pdf form

    I m designing a process which has two web services (adobe livecycle workbench) I can get respond from each of them but that means I have two xmls.
    The problem starts from here .I need one document put into pdf however I have two Documents, one from each web service
    ı just need to equal two xml to one xml that case I can have one document to put into renderPDFfrom process
    what should I do ?
    should I put another process to combine xml or is there any methods to combine xml
    I m waiting for your answers
    thanks for helping

    thank you very much Jasmin your answer is brilliant but in my case When I put  "Main" between Node1 and mainxml  (not really "Main" in my case form1) it doesnt work correctly  /process_data/mainxml/Main/Node1/Child
    this is my code and also another problem
    /process_data/wstranslatesum/Page1/tablo1   =      /process_data/wsresponse2/Envelope/Body/HelloWorldResponse/HelloWorldResult/diffgram/NewD ataSet
    /process_data/wstranslatesum/Page2/Sonuc    = /process_data/wsresponse/Envelope/Body/getMaxWaitingProcessStepsResponse/getMaxWaitingPro cessStepsResult/diffgram/NewDataSet
    when I use above example only
    /process_data/wstranslatesum/Page2/Sonuc    = /process_data/wsresponse/Envelope/Body/getMaxWaitingProcessStepsResponse/getMaxWaitingPro cessStepsResult/diffgram/NewDataSet
    above part works   they are on the other page
    when I use the below
    /process_data/wstranslatesum/Page2/tablo1   =      /process_data/wsresponse2/Envelope/Body/HelloWorldResponse/HelloWorldResult/diffgram/NewD ataSet
    /process_data/wstranslatesum/Page2/Sonuc    = /process_data/wsresponse/Envelope/Body/getMaxWaitingProcessStepsResponse/getMaxWaitingPro cessStepsResult/diffgram/NewDataSet
    it works perfectly   (did you notice that they are on the same page)
    so what is the problem I know you are Expert
    can youy recommend any resource which has real case example
    thank you so much
    Sincerely ,
    Joseph

  • Calling Web Service Error?

    Hello all,
    I've created an LDAP Query Process in LC Workbench and when calling it as a Web Service from my form I'm getting an "Error attempting to read from file" error.
    I did do a search, and disabled the security for this process. Which didn't help at all. Is there perhaps an option I need to change in the 'short-lived' process area, under 'transaction settings'?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    By default security is set on for Web Services in LiveCycle. Depending on which client you are using will determine whether you can leave security on/off. Acrobat/Reader 9 added support for secure web services. Meaning when the web service is called a dialog wil appear to allow you to enter valid credentials. If you are using an earlier client they do not support secure web services so it will just sit there.
    You can disable security through the adminui. Look under Services/Applications and Services/Service Management and search for your particular service. Once it is located, click on the Security tab. There are two things you need to be concerned with. First is to disable security. Second, in the runAs area, check the box that says Specify RunAs then choose System in the dropdown. Don't forget to save. The RunAs parameter tells the system that when your service makes calls to other services to use the credentials specified; otherwise, you will have to turn security on all other services that your's is calling.

  • Web Services Not Working because wwv_flow_collections view is empty

    Hello,
    I followed this example to try and get a web service running in my Application:
    http://apex.oracle.com/i/doc/advnc_rest_web_eg_2.htm
    When I run the page and enter the zip code 43221 they recommend with a radius of 5, I get no results. When debugging and throwing the query into SQL Dev, I have no records in my wwv_flow_collections view. Looking at the tables that comprise the view, wwv_flow_collections$ and wwv_flow_collection_members$, these two tables would join on c.id = m.collection_id alone, but there are additional in-line selects involving the DUAL table that make the query return 0 records and therefore the view is empty. I've never messed with these views/tables, are these auto-populated by APEX? Can they be updated? Right now I cannot get any web services to work because of this. Here is the from clause for the wwv_flow_collections view:
    FROM
    wwv_flow_collections$ c,
    wwv_flow_collection_members$ m
    WHERE
    c.session_id =
    SELECT
    v('SESSION')
    FROM
    dual
    AND c.security_group_id =
    SELECT
    wwv_flow.get_sgid
    FROM
    dual
    AND c.id = m.collection_id
    AND c.flow_id =
    SELECT
    nv('FLOW_ID')
    FROM
    dual
    Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
    John

    John,
    I have been working this week to set up the exact same thing and got the same empty result set that you have. In this case I believe it has nothing to do with APEX. I downloaded soapUI 4.0.1 which tests web services and used the WSDL described in the APEX Webservices tutorial for http://www.ignyte.com/webservices/ignyte.whatsshowing.webservice/moviefunctions.asmx?wsdl to create the same sample requests. It also returns no results.
    So, I decided to use a different public WSDL and try to get it working. Here are my steps taken below:
    BACKGROUND:
    - I am using APEX 4.0 on an 11gR2 database, with ACLS set up for the APEX schema this app is using.
    - First off, the site I used I just found through google. It is a currency conversion rate webservice. It is explained here: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx
    - The WSDL is found here: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL
    SETTING UP THE WEBSERVICE:
    1. In a new APEX application I went to "*Shared Components*" -> "*Web Service References*" -> "*Create*" to create a new web service reference
    2. Selected manual
    3. Called the webservice CURRENCY_TEST
    4. Set the URL to http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx
    5. Set the Action to http://www.webserviceX.NET/ConversionRate (Action can be found in the WSDL - showing a few lines below)
    <pre class="jive-pre">
    <wsdl:binding name="CurrencyConvertorSoap" type="tns:CurrencyConvertorSoap">
    <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http"/>
    <wsdl:operation name="ConversionRate">
    <soap:operation soapAction="*http://www.webserviceX.NET/ConversionRate*" style="document"/>
    <wsdl:input>
    <soap:body use="literal"/>
    </wsdl:input>
    <wsdl:output>
    <soap:body use="literal"/>
    </wsdl:output>
    </wsdl:operation>
    </wsdl:binding>
    </pre>
    6. WSDL explains that the version is *1.1* in this case. (However, this same WSDL has the same operation for 1.2 so it probably would work)
    7. No Authentication
    8. soapUI 4.0.1 gave me the soap request which in this case is the following:
    <pre class="jive-pre">
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:web="http://www.webserviceX.NET/">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <web:ConversionRate>
    <web:FromCurrency>#FROM_CURRENCY#</web:FromCurrency>
    <web:ToCurrency>#TO_CURRENCY#</web:ToCurrency>
    </web:ConversionRate>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    </pre>
    9. Stored response in collection CURRENCY_COLLECTION
    10. Saved my web service reference
    11. Test the web service reference (you have to be on the web service references page and instead of the icon view of the report, use the list view. Click on the test icon to test the web service)
    12. On the test page, change #FROM_CURRENCY# to USD (for US dollars) and #TO_CURRENCY# to EUR (Euros)
    13. Click the test button and you should see a valid soap response with a currency rate within the ConversionRateResult tags
    USING THE WEBSERVICE AND GETTING RESULTS:
    1. Went back to the application and hit "*Create Page*" -> "*Form*" -> "*Form and Report on Web Service*"
    2. Selected my CURRENCY_TEST web service reference
    3. Next on the next page
    4. For input parameters, left the defaults to create 2 inputs, From_Currency and To_Currency
    5. Soap Style for this is Document (found in the WSDL as an attribute just after the soapAction attribute in the WSDL snippet above)
    6. Message Format is Literal (Also found above in the wsdl:output for this operation under the use attribute)
    7. XPATH is a bit complicated. In this case put */ConversionRateResponse* (I used the soapUI 4.0.1 to send the request and get back the soap response to see what the response tags would include and which path I'm going to)
    8. Message Namespace is http://www.webserviceX.NET/ (which is also found in the response soap message - I'd really recommend a tool to test this outside of APEX)
    9. For Parameter Names there is only one and it is ConversionRateResult (also found in the response soap message)
    10. Finish and run the report.
    OTHER GOTCHAS:
    So I finally got this to work, but in my case I was querying a remedy webservice and the xml tags I get back are all xmlns:ns0 and all response tags prefaced with ns0:
    In this case I had to after using the wizard go back and edit my query to change xmlns to xmlns:ns0 since the builder only assumes xmlns.
    <pre class="jive-pre">
    select extractValue(value(t),'/*/ns0:Assigned_Group','xmlns:ns0="urn:HPD_IncidentInterface_WS"') "Assigned_Group"
    , extractValue(value(t),'/*/ns0:Assignee','xmlns:ns0="urn:HPD_IncidentInterface_WS"') "Assignee"
    , extractValue(value(t),'/*/ns0:Resolution','xmlns:ns0="urn:HPD_IncidentInterface_WS"') "Resolution"
    , extractValue(value(t),'/*/ns0:Status','xmlns:ns0="urn:HPD_IncidentInterface_WS"') "Status"
    from wwv_flow_collections c,
    table(xmlsequence(extract(c.xmltype001,'//ns0:HelpDesk_Query_ServiceResponse','xmlns:ns0="urn:HPD_IncidentInterface_WS"'))) t
    where c.collection_name = 'INCIDENT_TEST'
    </pre>
    Good Luck!
    Jonathon

  • How can we call a WEB SERVICE from an Oracle DB?

    <h2>
    What the methods available to call a WEB SERVICE from the DB. I.e. through a DB Stored Procedure?
    I was given this article by a colleague, but since it’s a 2005 one, I feel it could be outdated?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/mensah_dws.html
    Also, is it possible to write ONE “Common” DB stored procedure to call ANY WEB SERVICE?
    </h2>

    <h2> No Girish, what I meant is, since it is 2005 article, the method it describes to call a WS is out of date.
    Because I am quite sure in 2009, 4 years later Oracle must have added built-in packages and other methods to simplify it???
    Also, I would be very grateful if you advice on the other issue: Is there a way to create a single DB stored procedure to call ANY WS?? i.e. a common routine to call any web service?

  • Web service in LV2013: Change answer for "Bad Request", "Access Error"...

    Hi there,
    I am building a large application in LabVIEW 2013. I use a Web Service Server in LabVIEW to communicate to other systems. All in all the new Web Service functions in LV2013 work pretty fine and Web Services are easy to implement. In case any Web Service is unknown or parameters (in the URL) are wrong, it returnsto the client a default error message (like: "Access Error: 404 -- Not Found" or "Access Error: 400 -- Bad Request"). Is there a possibility to change this default messages and its format (all answers in my application are in JSON, but errors appear in HTML)? I really need this feature.
    I spent a lot of time in the internet for finding an answer - but it seems that I am the first who need this feature. Thank you very much for any ideas.

    Hi Andy,
    I found a workaround: I added some additional resources using a link "http://localhost:8079/"NAME"/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x/:x" for each type (PUT, GET, POST, DELETE) where I handle the error message with the "Set HTTP Response Code VI"

  • ColdFusion 9 suddenly won't consume Web Services...

    Ok, the weirdest problem has cropped up, and I'm hoping someone will have a solution...
    Suddenly none of the Web Services we're consuming will work from our production server...
    Our test-server, locally-hosted, will consume all these web-services just fine.  But when we try to consume the very same web-services on our production server, it'll just hang forever.  No time-out, no error of any kind; just hangs there forever...
    We do not publish these web-services, we're just consuming them...  These web-services are being published by several different companies (our clients), so it's not that they're all coming from one source and it's the source that has the problem...  Every last web-service we consume has suddenly quit working when we try to access them from our production server...
    So why would we be able to consume them on one server, but not on another?  I've gone through the ColdFusion administrator line-by-line and both the test-server and the production-server are set up precisely the same way...  The only difference between the two servers is the OS and the fact that the production server is quite a bit more powerful...  Test server: 2-core AMD CPU, 4GB RAM, Windows 2003, IIS6,  ColdFusion 9;  Production server: 4-core Intel Xeon CPU, 8GB RAM, Windows Server 2008, IIS 7, ColdFusion 9...
    I'm really confused about this -- it's almost like the production server has had all outgoing requests blocked somehow...  But even if we completely turn off the firewall, we still can't consume any Web Services...
    Has anyone had a problem remotely like this?  I'd appreciate any kind of help you can offer...
    Thanks,

    The only other thing that I can think of would be permissions.

  • Web service for SAP R/3 user authentication

    Hi Experts,
       We are searching for any standard web service/ Bapi to authenicate an SAP user from an external system which needs WSDL to check this . External system will be providing the SAP user ID and password and expects an acknowledgemnt that whether the user is authenticated or not .
    Is there any webservice/Bapi available for this purpose? if not how we can achieve this?
    Thanks in advance
    Sanu

    Hi,
    I don't think there is any web service to just check authentication but the work around is simple :
    Call any web service which just display some information (for example call STFC_CONNECTION function module as a web service).
    As you need to authenticate to call the web service, send the user/password.
    If you get the release information, the user/password is OK.
    If you get HTTP 401 error, the user/password is KO.
    Of course the user needs the authorisation to execute the STFC_CONNECTION function module.
    Regards,
    Olivier

  • Audit log web service for Office 365

    I am working on developing an application that will interact with the Office 365 services. I am currently able to get the files and folders of a singed-in user using the OAuth2 authentication. I am aware that we can get the audit logs and it will be exported
    to Microsoft Excel.
    However, my question is : Is there any web service or endpoint I can use to access the logs using REST API. For example, Box provides an api/endpoint to achieve this: http://developers.box.com/docs/#events.
    Any help would be highly appreciated!
    Many Thanks

    Currently displaying audit log reports in REST or API is not supported by Microsoft. SharePoint online in Office 365 just supports saving an audit log report as a Microsoft Excel 2012 Preview workbook.
