Anyone recommend a good skin for the touch?
I am going to try and pic up 1 at macworld today. I am looking for something that works well and does not add to much bulk to the device.
thanks
I am very pleased with the ClearTouch Crystal skin. It was easy to apply, the bubbles were simple to eliminate and it can be washed and reapplied.

Can anyone recommend a good app for designing and printing labels?
I have just switched from pc to mac and have pages on my macbook but it does not have a label function (please apple sort this out its the only major flaw!) so can anyone recommend a good app that will do what a pc does? I do not really want to pay £85+ for office for mac just for the word program
One way to find an app at the App Store is to use keywords.
Type print labels in the search field top right corner of the App Store window then press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
Click one of the apps listed. Always check Requirements under Information and definitely read customer reviews before purchasing and make sure there is a support link available in case you need to contact the app developer for questions.
This forum is mainly for troubleshooting the App Store.
For feedback for software designed for printing labels, try posting your topic in the Mac OS X community here. -
Please recommend a good sleeve for the pismo
Hi,
Can any of you loving pismo owners please recommend a good sleeve for our beloved pismos. I'm looking for one that would fit the pismo pretty much like a glove, so it won't slide and then I can put the pismo in an another bag.
Thanks so much for your suggestions!I bought a perfect sleeve for mine from Timbuktu. This was a few years ago and I'm not sure they carry it anymore (look on eBay?). I see that the manufacturer makes other sleeves that look nice, too, now. Mine fits the laptop like a glove. It's open at the top with two cloth-padded handles and a strap that snaps into place over the middle of the opening. The padding is nice and thick -- about 1/2." I lugged it in my backpack all around Europe for a summer and it came through just fine.

Can Anyone Recommend Any Good Tutorials For A Beginner?
Hi,
I just purchased Pro Logic 9 and was wondering if anyone knows of any good lessons/tutorials to help a first time user of the Pro Logic series. Im excited to get into this program and record but it is so powerful that it is a bit overwhelming. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!I agree with JG99.
+1 macprovideo
I've seen both the lynda and macprovideo logic training. Don't get me wrong the Logic training at lynda is ok for the basics. The macprovideo ones are excellent and go much further. So I could learn in depth how all the instruments, like the EXS24 sampler, Ultrabeat drum machine, synths and plugins work and how to use them. There are proper whole tutorials dedicated to mixing and mastering. For me and my studio buddies macprovideo for final cut, logic and now the photoshop titles has saved us countless hours and a lot of hair!

Strongly recommend a good book for the java web programmer
book name: java for the web with servlets, jsp and EJB
publisher : New Riders
very suitable for beginners ~~~like me 0_O~~~~Hello guys,
Glad to hear you guys pursuing certification. Upon finishing both books, I still felt like I needed to prepare in some other means. That was when I started taking practice exams online. Those helped a LOT! (I took around 10 exams) They really test you if you know the material... Here are a few links which might be of some help:

Can anyone recommend some good headphones for iPhone?
I know because of the recessed headphone jack not all headphones will work. Just for music playing, what's a good pair for around $100-$150? Thanks for any help!
I recently bought a pair of Sleek Audio SA1 headphones for $80 and like them extremely well. They sound far better (to me anyway) than my much more expensive Shure buds. Sleek has other models and they also have a wireless option that I haven't gotten yet, but intend to.

Anyone find any good holsters for the iPhone?
Cause I need one.
Garrett, TexasI bought one of the belt clip cases (and the glue came apart almost causing me to almost lose my phone) but took it back and exhanged it for the Belkin Slim-Fit case.
That case is nice. It covers/protects the screen while in the case and the belt clip, though not locking, is REALLY tight so you won't lose you phone. You can't easily pull it off your belt... a good thing.
Perfect. http://www.belkin.com/ipod/iphone/
I think the cases that show off the iphone while you wear it are the most dangerous when it comes to possible screen damage and loss.
If you're looking to be envied by people in elevators then the slim-fit case is not for you! -
Can anyone recommend a car kit for the Nokia 6131?
I'm looking for a car kit for my 6131 and I'm a bit baffled by all of the options I've found on the internet.
All I really need is a nice neat mobile holder and a charger. The holder should not be the type that attaches to the air vents; I had one of those once before and it just made the car look untidy!
I already have access to a Jabra BT250 bluetooth earpiece so I'm assuming that if the phone is in its cradle I'll be able to use that to make and answer calls. Otherwise I don't mind buying a bluetooth car kit if it's a better option.
I noticed on another thread that someone was recommending the wireless plug in hands free HF-6W to a 6131 owner, but the phone isn't listed as compatible with that on Nokia's web site. In fact, if you look at the compatibility details for all of Nokia's car kits, the 6131 isn't listed as compatible with any of them!
Any recommendations for the best holder and charger for the 6131, or a single unit that combines both?
Thanks :-)Message Edited by pottermus on 01-Oct-2006
06:30 PMThe only way to connect this phone to a car kit is via a bluetooth connection, the ck-7w would be suitable for this. There is no specific holder for this phone so you would need a universal holder, i suggest that you buy a specific non damaging bracket for your car to mount this on to give you the best position.

Can anyone recommend a decent case for the N95?
Hiya,
I always keep my phones in cases, to protect the screens, and I bought one with my N95, but it only covers part of the screen.
Without wanting to advertise anyone - I've used Krusell cases for years now, but their case for the N95 seems awkward, because you seem to have to open a flap somehow to operate it... this obviously sounds like a nightmare.

Anyone recommend a good tutorial for 'working with video' in Logic?
I've worked with video a fair amount, but only ever skimmed the surface and found odd workarounds to get things to happen how I want them.
The manual is scant when it comes to features such as SMPTE locking and beat mapping scenes to bar lengths and all sorts of other tricks I'm probably unaware of.
The only Macprovideo I can find is from 2005 and whilst I'm sure has some common features, is perhaps not up to date enough. And this http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jul07/articles/logictech_0707.htm is ok for a quick overview but I'd like to see some of it in action (or at least have more detailed exercises).
Does anyone know any tutorials they'd recommend? Cheerscanon pixma 6200 series works

Anyone recommends a good book for object oriented programming
I am a college student in computer engineering (Software) and have been programming using Java for over a year. I have become really interested in the design of softwares and the "beauty" of object oriented programming, and thus would like to advance my knowledge about the topic (my university offers an advanced oop class but I would have to wait another 6 months to take it). So my question is, could you recommend me any book that covers the subject of object oriented programming extensively? (I have learned most of the oop I know from "An Introduction to Programming and Object Oriented Design Using Java" by Nino and Hosch.
Thanks in advanceSome years ago I remember cutting my teeth on OOP using an excellent book by Grady Booch. If it's still in print and has been updated, it may be worth a look. Again it was decent. Also consider picking up a book on design patterns. Good luck.
Edit: I found it, it's called "Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with Applications", and it's in its third edition. You can find it here on Amazon.
