Anyone willing to forward my blog comment to those in the know at Apple?

http://i-h8-windows.blogspot.com
thanks if you can forward this to someone at Apple who can pass this around corp-wide. I don't expect any response, but at least they should know yet another Windows user is ready to throw in the towel.

Actually there's a possibility that Apple won't replace it for that price. There is a catch-22 to replacement with a refurbished unit:
All quoted prices are in US dollars and require a shipping fee of $6.95 if you arrange service online or by calling Apple Technical Support. All fees are subject to local tax. Replacement iPods may be new, used or refurbished. Service may not be available if your iPod has been damaged due to accident or abuse. Please review Apple’s Repair Terms and Conditions for further details. Your AASP may charge you a diagnostic fee whether or not repairs are made.
If Apple thinks that "a dunk in the ocean" qualifies a abuse then they may refuse service and you will be buying a new iPod Touch.

  • How apple will print an iphoto book ? Does anyone will see it while printing there? or does the printing processes will be automatically?

    Hello,
    I am muslim girl and I usually cover my hair and my body as well. ( in my religion no men allow to see my body uncovered ). I have created an iphoto book with my pictures without the covers. I would like to purchase the book through apple store. But I am worried if someone will see my pictures while printing the book in the lap or not (especially men) ? I have contact customer service in New Zealand to have the answer but they couldn't help me.
    So my Question is:
    Do you know what exactly the processes of printing the book? is it going to be automatic or someone will review my order and see it ?
    I haven't purchase the book yet.
    I am waiting for your answers
    Ba2ol

    As this is important to you I would think it very likely that at some point in the process - Quality Control, for instance - the book will be reviewed by a person. As to the sex of that person, we have no way of knowing.

  • Will there be any new player software upgrades for the Zen Micro-all those in the know please re

    The only thing that I like about the ipod and itunes is the fade out of the current song and the fade in of the new song, which works well in all playing modes.
    Thanks
    Matt

    I'm not 'in the know', but my suspicion is that we are all done for the Zen Micro now. There aren't any bugs left in the firmware, and generally the Micro does all it was supposed to do. The market is moving away from the 5gig(ish) hard dri've players (being replaced by high capacity flash), which means the micro is running to the end of its life.
    Thats not really a bad thing, the Micro is stable, and we have some new features (Audible) that we didn't have when purchased. I think that is about all we can hope for....

    I just got really, really nasty with Apple Care (who wanted to charge me; I wasn't haven't it) and mobileme support.
    The problem is on their end. They have finally identified the problem, and are trying to fix it. They said not to change any settings on the iweb site. They said they should have the problem fixed within 24 hours.
    For right now, I've embedded a nabble mini-forum on new posts so that people can comment.

  • Blog comment replies

    Can U tell me if the new version of BC will enable replies to blog comments.

    thank you, I am a little confused with your terminology because I am only new to bc and having my own site for that matter.  I just wanted the ability to reply back to posts on my blog on my website.  That is have their comments visible and for me to just reply back and have that visible as well.  Do I just comment on my own site as any other person would in the comments section but as a reply?  I read somewhere that I cannot reply to comments after I spent about two hours in my admin console trying to figure out how to reply.  Does this make it any clearer? I am sorry if I am not making a whole lot of sense.  I am not sure what a 3rd party is in this case.

  • Blog Comment issues...

    Does anyone have a solution to the following error message with the Blog Comment Fuction:
    'We're sorry. We are having a problem processing your request.'
    I didn't get this error message before the switch to Mobile Me. Never had those issues as long as it was all .Mac.
    Anyone have any ideas to address that problem ?

    I' from Italy too and I thought that might have been the problem ( lack of UPDATED info), since forums seem to be in English but as Harry said ... shame for the support we're getting.
    I now enter my website - l published all to Mobileme - substituting the mac. with me. and it seems to work but ...will I have to inform all people to do that? It somehow seems something we customers shouldn't do and furthermore HAVE NEVER NEEN NOTIFIED TO DO SO!!
    Have a nice weekend!

  • How do I hide HTML hyperlink code in Blog comments?

    How do I hide HTML code for hyperlinks in blog commments? Here's the background:
    I happily and easily include text hyperlinks all over the place in my website, using iWeb. I can even do this when creating a new entry in my blog. In all cases, the actual HTML code is hidden, and the hyperlinked text is, as usual, in a different color (to indicate that it's a link).
    However, let's say someone leaves a comment to a blog entry, and I want to respond using the Comments box when I'm viewing the blog online, via Safari or IE or Firefox. And let's say I type a word that I want to also use as a hyperlink, that will take someone to another website.
    So far, the only way I've discovered to add hyperlinks in a Comment is to actually type the HTML command right in the Comments text box (then add my name, URL, type in the secret image verification code and click "Add Comment").
    When the new comment, with hyperlink, appears on the blog entry page, the hyperlink is active -- however, the entire HTML code also shows up. For example, here's what appears, on-screen, when I want someone to click "here" to get to my website landing page:
    Click (a href="http://www.davidalanmoore.com")here(/a) to go to my homepage.
    NOTE: I used parens instead of carats in the line, above, in order to show what actually happens in the real world... unfortunately, this forum is so well done that it actually read my carats, created a real hyperlink and hid the HTML -- which is what DOESN'T happen in the blog comments!
    How do I hide everything but the word "here," without losing the hyperlink?
    Thanks in advance!
    iMac Intel Duo Core and iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    iMac Intel Duo Core and iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Yes, the http:// part does make it become a hyperlink, as in the example I noted in my question. That is, the hyperlink works... it's just that all of the HTML code that makes it a link is also visible.
    For example, take a look at the following sentence, that includes a hyperlink -- a hyperlink for which Apple's Discussion Forums automatically reads the HTML correctly, hides the code, and turns the text for the word "here" into a different-colored hyperlink:
    "Click here to go to the comments page where I'm having the problem."
    Now compare that hyperlink to the way a hyperlink actually appears in a "Comment." Click the word "here" in the sentence just above this one. You'll be sent to a blog entry on my website. If you look at the fourth comment on that page you'll see what iWeb does to a hyperlink: it creates link that works, but it also shows all the HTML code (e.g., "(a href="http//..... etc., etc.).
    I'm trying to make that code invisible in the Comments, as it is invisible on these discussion boards. (See two paragraphs above: a link, but no visible HTML code.)
    I'm not sure if I'm making sense... I'm just trying to be thorough so people don't accidentally waste their time answering a question I'm not asking. Bottom line, I don't want the HTML code visible, on-screen, when I create a hyperlink in a blog comment.

    In logic Pro, when I open up an audio track or software track and load an audio file/loop or software file loop, there is no sound. I will finally get a sound out of one of the audio or software tracks after opening at least 5 of them alternately. Is anyone familiar with this kind of bug? It's really frustrating as this takes much time to complete work.

    I'm not sure I follow your words Fuzzynormal. You've helped by offering the insight that my issue in Logic Pro 9 is not a bug but a feature. But fell short of enlightenment by being a judge of character and of how one should interact in this forum. You insinuate that I haven't tried to solve the issue on my own when in fact I have. These forums are always my last resort. You further suggest that I am complaining. This is not a complaint. It is a genuine issue that I cannot figure out. Then you think that Brazeca is holding my hand and being a nice guy. Brazeca is helping people like me who might not be as adept at using Logic Pro as probably you are.This community forum was established to raise questions, answers and dicussion to help Apple's customers better undertand their operating systems and related issues. You are doing a disservice by not contributing positively and by trying to make this forum what you want it to be. You may have all the time in the world to try figuring out stuff but we are not all like you. We all have different schedules and different levels of understanding. And that is what this forum is for - to help people move forward. If you can't contribute positively then keep silent. And by the way, you say to "read the words that are printed down to explain to you how that works" what words are you talking about? Why don't you be of some help instead of trying to own this forum.

  • HT5295 I have read the other comments of others with the same problem of downloading podcasts and submitted my comment,but there is still no fix to the problem.Does anyone know why the trouble has not been taken care of?Who is the person dealing with this

    the podcast app is not fixed still wont download,did not find any solutions with anyones comments,they all have the same problem with this app.So how can you say the problem is fixed,get someone who knows how to really do something so it is not a recurring topic of frustration!!!!!

    You might get more replies to this (but not from Apple, who you will recall, do not monitor these discussions) if you had posted in the Podcasts for iOS discussions, but never mind. At least in this post you've mentioned that your problem is with the Podcast App, something you didn't mention in your previous post. Consequently, my comments were based on "problems downloading Podcasts", not "problems with the new Podcast App".
    (I don't use the new Podcast App, since I cannot install iOS 5 on my Touch. So I stick with the older method of listening to Podcasts on my iPod.) That said however...
    It cannot have escaped Apple's attention that the new Podcast App has not been well received. Although these discussions tend to focus on what's wrong rather than what's right, it does appear that the App hasn't been well thought out.
    In particular, the Auto Play feature, which - once an episode has finished playing, the "next most recent unplayed episode" will begin. Now, maybe I'm wrong but to me that means that it plays the Podcasts in reverse date order, so episode 19 will play after episode 20 and episode 18 after ep.19! That is how the iPod Classic plays Podcasts by default and the Classic forum is littered with posts from people who think this is barmy. (I think it's barmy too!)
    I use an iPod Touch as well. Although not perfect, playing Podcasts on the Touch is far easier than on a Classic.
    You are unlikely to find any "solutions" to the issues with the Podcast App, because the "solution" is for Apple to redesign it.
    If you are assuming that the update of 25th july is a claim that it's fixed... oh dear! I notice that the App views, shown in the Store, still include that "tortoise and hare" screen with what appears to be the transport mechanism for a reel-to-reel tape deck. That alone tells me there is no real improvement to the App. It really is the worst graphic Apple have ever produced! I'll be surprised if anyone under 35 recognises that graphic as a reel-to-reel tape deck.
    Actually, I have a question for you.
    If you have the Podcast App installed on your Touch, does that mean that the previous method of listening to Podcasts has been removed from your iPod, or can you still access them in the Music App? If you can, abandon the Podcast App and use the old method. If not, please warn me in order that I don't purchase a new iPod Touch until Apple fix this!
    Sorry I can't be the bearer of more positive news.

  • Email notification of blog comments

    Does anyone know if .mac offers instant email notification when someone leaves a comment on your blog? If so, how do I turn that on?
    Before switching to iWeb 08, I used RapidWeaver to create my blog, hosted it on a server other than .mac, and used Haloscan to manage the comments. Instant email notification on all blog comments was a feature of Haloscan that I was hoping to have with .mac as well.
    Anybody know? Thanks

    iComment didn't need to be updated to be used with iWeb '08 it just worked well with it and it still does.
    The good thing about iComment, despite the e-mail notification, is that you can add comments to every page you like, not only on blogs and PhotoPages like .Mac's Comments.

  • Google Analytics breaks iWeb blog comments

    Does anybody know a workaround for Google Analytics' breaking of iWeb blog comments? Apparently, from some posts I've read, StatCounter and other traffic stat services break iWeb blog comments, too... so it's apparently an iWeb issue rather than a Google Analytics issue. FWIW, I'm publishing to my MobileMe personal domain. Thanks in advance!

    I found a decent way of adding Google Analytics to all pages, without using HTML Snippits (which cause analytics to track those odd page names like widget2_markup.html), that doesn't break MobileMe comments, and doesn't require any post-processing of your iWeb site. Just Publish and go! Open up your iWeb app bundle, and drill down to Contents/Resources/Scripts/Site. Open up the file iWebSite.js in TextEdit (or your favorite text editor), and paste the following at the bottom of the file:
    // Begin Google Analytics
    gaTrackerId = 'ss-ddddddd-d'; // insert your tracker id here
    document.observe('dom:loaded', function() {
    var gaJsHost = ( ('https:' == document.location.protocol) ? 'https://ssl.' : 'http://www.') + 'google-analytics.com/ga.js';
    var script = new Element('script', { 'src': gaJsHost});
    var gaTrack = function() {
    if (
    !script.readyState
    || /loaded|complete/.test(script.readyState)
    var pageTracker = gat.getTracker(gaTrackerId);
    pageTracker._trackPageview();
    script.observe('load', gaTrack);
    script.observe('readystatechange', gaTrack);
    document.body.appendChild(script);
    // End Google Analytics
    Credit to this solution goes to this blog post. I got the idea to find a way of using Google Analytics in Prototype (since iWeb sites use the Prototype JavaScript framework) and found that blog snippit.
    And yes, since this is editing the iWeb application bundle, you may need to reapply this hack if/when iWeb is updated. Hopefully though, some enterprising iWeb engineer is reading this and will add proper Google Analytics support to iWeb for us.

  • Iweb blog comments

    Hi people,
    Could somebody help me?
    i have published my site at www.dubkasm.com and used a blog page as a comments book, only when i publish the site there is no section like 'add comment' or 'post message'. How can i do this? Any help much appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Ben (Brazil)

    Try searching the forum as this has been covered before.
    As far as I can remeber Blog comments created through iWeb are stored server side on .Mac somewhere, so exporting your site to another domain, other than .Mac, will make comments inactive.

  • After installing iWeb 08 (vers 2.0.1) - Blog comments missing

    Originally my web site was created and maintained by iWeb '06 and resides on my .Mac web space. It contained several blog entries and associated comments (as it's a site I set up to commemorate the death of my partner's son). I've just updated to iWeb 08 and when using it for the first time it asked that the site is updated to work with the new version - which I did. I then published the site (though I'd made no changes). Unfortunately, though the blog entries are still there, all the comments we had received from the site visitors have gone missing.
    I don't want to try an re-publish the site until I know whether I've lost forever all the comments. Unfortunately, I've not made a back up for the site for many months (my stupid mistake). Is there anyway of getting these comments back.
    Any help will be very gratefully received.
    Paul

    Just updated with iWeb 08 and have the exact same problem. It's a shame when you spend so much time putting together a site and you lose something as valuable as blog comments. I now have dual websites. One updated and the other with comments I want to keep but can't update. Now I have to make everyone know there was also a change in the web address. Bummer. Major disappointment.

  • IWeb not allowing blog comments!

    Now all of a sudden nobody can add comments to my blog pages? And as usual you cant reach anybody at Apple to support this software, nor the .me/.mac, without dropping hundreds of dollars in support fees.
    FWIW, I have been a Mac User since 1987 and I have to say that Im really disappointed in all of the bugs in just about every release Apple puts out, not to mention, the distance that Apple is putting between itself and the customer.
    Congratulations Apple you always wanted to be as big as Microsoft, but make that a big looser. After 20 years you have succeeded in driving away your customer base by hiding behind a wall, and ignoring your loyal ardent fans and advocates.
    Fix these bugs!

    Hi There,
    Hope I'm in the right "corner" of the forum now . Since change from iWeb to MobileMe I also have some problems with comments in my blog: First of all I don't receive any notifications when comments were written into my blog. I don't see them, only if I look at my blog-webpage as a "ordinary visitor" I can see them. Yesterday evening, I was still able to comment on them through the web. Now I have created some new entries in my blog yesterday and saw now that I had a comment (still not appearing in iWeb but on the website). When I was trying to read it I was asked to enter my .mac-ID and password (a small lock appearing next to the entry and the comment-box). Is there anyone experiencing the same problems? Have I done anything wrong?
    Thx for your comments on this
