The first one worked for day before it crashed.
I tried another one. It went to the boot prompt after a :resetall seemed to have worked alright.
Aps have the 11.21T code on it.
I will be putting a couple of the new Ap 1200 in production and monitor them.

  • My experience with new HP ENVY 17-j113el : 1200 euros spent to buy a lot of problems...

    Good morning,
In April 2014 I have bought a nice, full-loaded, expensive (1200 euro) portable PC, HP ENVY 17-j113el.
Before I was using a smaller, cheaper HP G62 notebook: never have had any problem in three years, great prodct for the price.
With nice and new machine my nightmare started: wifi does not works form the first day, thanks to Ralink 3290 card. Low signals, intermitent functioning, disconnections. Requeste a replacement card to HP support, received after almost a month.
Replaced the card with the "new" Ralink 3290, and wifi signal started to be at normal level. After a short use, the signals started again to be intermittenly much lowest than the normal. Better than my original wifi card, but not as good as the signals received with my previous HP G62. Still having lowwifi signals, "floating" levels", and having the PC at 2 meters from the router shows up just a poor "-65" on inSSIDer..  And no, it is not a problem of my wifi router: never had any problems before with ANY device device.
In addition, since I have installed the new Ralink 3290 card and using wifi on this pc, another problem came out: somethimes there is a strong "click" form the audio speakers on the bottom, even if not playing any music or audio.
     That is really annoying.
Other issues: after bios upgrade to 56 (recommended by HP, executed as HP Support Assistant software directed) I have experienced sporadic computer shut off immediately ater power up.
You push the power button, the computer starts, and after 2 or 3 seconds the computer shut down.
You have to push power button again to restart.
Additional minor issues (still not espected from a 1200 euro notebook): mousepad left key, even if clicking, does not recognize the "click". You have to push strong to make it work.
And also, the keyboard: poor, poor, poor keys feeling, and on left side it bend miserably when used.
Just to note: I am a 43 years old professional, I work as electronics and IT tecnician since more than 20 years, and I am not one of those who complains for nothing.
BUT, after buying HP for years with good satisfaction, this time I am realy disappointed with the lack of quality.
Came on HP, people does not spend 1200 euros to have a PC with this kinds of problems: bring a solution!
I espect from HP to fix all this issues with my "new" (sigh!) nice, wonderful looking, full loaded and expensive PC.
    V/R,
    Riccardo G.

    Hello Rightrik,
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.
It seems the computer is facing a number of issues, most which are likely relating to hardware. In my opinion, since the computer it still relatively new, I would contact HP phone support. Your computer would either be serviced or replaced, and the issues will be resolved.
You can utilize this website to learn how to contact HP appropriately, based on your region: Contact HP Worldwide
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • My experiences & solutions to new overheating iMac

I know there are many threads concerning these overheating problem with some new aluminum iMacs but it's kind of hard to decide which one to post my experience to so I'm just posting a new thread. This is not a question because I think I fixed the problem with mine. I just wanted to share this with people in hopes that it might correct your problem as well instead having to take it back to the store.
Well, I bought a new 20" 2.4 aluminum iMac on August 24th. I connected my previous iMac to it and started migrating my user account & files to it. During this process is when the new iMac completely shut off on me! I thought it was just a glitch or something. So I turned it back on and it started the migration again. Everything went well this time. But since then it has turned off on me at least 3-4 times. When I was backing up files to an external drive. And a few times while working in Photoshop and Aperture it would start freezing up & the graphics would become distorted and blocks all over the screen. And from my days of overclocking PCs I knew this was a heat related problem more than likely with the video card.
So I installed a program called smcfancontrol and was able to up the speed of the fans. This corrected the problem and I didn't get lock ups or freezes after that. But I knew you shouldn't have to do this so I was looking for a solution so I wouldn't have to take the iMac back to the local Apple Store. Because that would be a pain having to backup files and start over again.
I reset the fans back to normal speed and quit the smcfancontrol program. I installed iStat Menus so I could monitor the fans & temp. It would seem that when the GPU would reach 150 deg F then it would start having problems. Well, I reset the SMC, PRAM, and NVRAM to see if this would solve the problem. Because what it seemed like what was happening was that the part of the system that controls the fans & temp was not responding correctly when it got hot.
Since I did the reset to those areas of the system I have not had any shut downs or freezes. I ran the system through a number of tests. I worked in Photoshop & Aperture at the same time doing a number of different processes while playing music in iTunes. I did the Hardware Test a couple of times. Xbench. And I also ran an pretty intensive test called CPUTest where it got the whole computer pretty hot through repetition. The fan for the CPU was speeding up over the normal 1200 rpm like it should and it never shut off or gave any more errors.
So I'm crossing my fingers now that the issue with my new iMac was resolved with resetting the SMC, PRAM, and NVRAM. And it saves me a trip back to the Apple Store!
I hope this information is helpful to someone.

    -Kevin
*I have owned quite a few Macs over the past six years and have technician certifications in both Macs & PCs.*

Well, I've been wrestling with my iMac for the past week in trying to solve my freeze & shutdown problem so I wouldn't have to take it back to the Apple Store and also if I did then I would like to know what the problem is first so I can tell them if it is definitely a hardware problem. The freezes & shutdowns would happen at random times and I don't think it is a overheating problem now because of this. It did seem like it would happen more often when I would work in Aperture & Photoshop. I would get through editing 3 or 4 photos and it would lock up completing. Then I would have to do a hard reset.
Anyway, yesterday morning I reinstalled the OS via Archive & Install. It seemed to be running better. So I started working on some projects but again after doing some work for about an hour, it froze on me. I took a break because I was fed up with it at the time and came back to it later.
I decided to reset the SMC and PRAM again since I had not done that after the OS reinstall. Then I removed all extra cables except the extra display, keyboard, mouse, & speakers. I skimmed through 2000 photos in Aperture and I monitored the temp & fan speeds. The whole computer got pretty hot especially the CPU and video card (GPU). The CPU fan sped up to 1500rpm at one point like it should. And after getting through all those photos, it did not freeze or shut down on me at all. Woohoo!
And this morning I noticed that the computer went to sleep like it was supposed to. It never did that before. So I'm thinking maybe the OS reinstall and the second time of resetting the SMC & PRAM might have solved my problem. I'm crossing my fingers! I will be gradually plugging in my extra devices to make sure one of those is not the problem.
Anyway, I hope sharing my experiences have helped. I definitely know the AppleCare & "Genius" Bar hasn't been much help to me. Seems like all they know how to do is turn it on! I hate having the feeling that I know more than the people who are supposed to be qualified to be in that position. And as for AppleCare I got some guy from another country who had bad English and was obviously reading through a step by step handbook and wasn't listening to what I was saying very much.
Side note: It's obvious that Apple moved the power supply from below the screen to the upper left corner of the iMac. That's the reason it is warmer in that area. I wouldn't be concerned about that. These power supplies have always run that warm in the flat iMacs. Easier to feel on these new models though because they are thinner.

  • ICloud Photo Library - a really poor support experience (and still unresolved)

I am using (or should I say trying to use) iCloud photo library on iOS 8.1.2 and on an iPhone 5S with 32Gb memory. I bought 200 Gb of Cloud storage too so was ready to go with about 12 Gb of photos.
It was about 3 weeks ago when I turned it on and was initially hopeful, as the number of photos left to sync gradually decreased on my device (there are about 4000 to do). I could see they were coming up at iCloud.com and all looked good for the first 600 or so. And then it "stalled" for the first time and nothing seemed to help - reboot, airplane mode on/off. Occasionally it might do a couple more but then it would just stop.
So, I logged out of iCloud on my device and logged back in again. A long pause whilst everything resyncs and then the photo resync begins again... from the start... 4000 to go. It got further this time, to 800 and every now and then it would process a few more. I left it a week and a half to see what it would do but eventually sure enough it stalls again.
My first chat session with Apple support and the engineer suggests resetting the network settings... nothing.
So the a second chat session with Apple support and the engineer suggests logging out of iCloud on the device and turning it on again. I'm reluctant to go the start of the process again, but I do and overnight I'm rewarded by getting to about 1200 photos this time. And then it stops, so I reset the network settings. A few more and it stops again. By now, I'm pulling my hair out.
So another long chat session and after repeating all of the above an escalation is requested to a senior engineer. A call back is made to me and after a wait of 15 mins on the phone (Apple called me!) the senior engineer begins to lecture me on what beta software is (I know, it's software pre-full release with a few minor issues left to resolve). I politely ask what the next steps might be and the engineer explains to me that I should have no realistic expectations that it should actually work. Her experience is such that uploads may not register with iCloud, downloads may not register with my device and that I may LOSE photos! When I protest, again politely, that this might not be acceptable she hangs up.
The chat engineer who is waiting for my call promises to complain on my behalf to the management and offers a call rescheduled for later which I take up. That was 30 mins ago.
The call comes, I wait 15 mins in the queue again (it tells you a 2 min wait!!!) and then guess what, the call hangs up again.
So here what I am left with. A sync that has now taken 3 weeks and ultimately is no more than a quarter complete. No confidence in the sync process or any idea of what might be causing my connection to fail. 4 hours wasted this weekend with Apple support. The rudeness of staff hanging up on my calls and lecturing me on the merits of beta software. £3 a month paid for storage that I cannot fill.
I can only conclude that the iPhone photo cloud library is not ready and the support staff feel unable to offer any support on next steps. "Beta" or not, you really have to ask if this is good enough.
Apple - if you're reading, you still have my outstanding call back on ref:722150884 sceduled for 16:30 GMT on 11th Jan 2015. Your system says this is still outstanding. If you're ready to call back with a genuine bid to help and an acknowledgement of the problem please feel free. If the software just isn't ready, just say and we can all move on with our lives.

This is a user-to-user support forum, not a way to communicate with Apple regarding a support call or issue. (Just trying to save you some more frustration when you don't get a response to this post from Apple).
As a user, I can note that it is beta software, I don't trust it with my photos and I'm not willing to spend the time dealing with issues that can be involved in beta software. There are a number of more proven 3rd party cloud storage options available.

  • Drivers for hp laserjet 1200 for windows 7 64 bit

Nothing seems to work to get printer working.

    Hey @Jskol ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are having some issue making your HP Laserjet 1200 on windows 7 64 bit work.
Can you please elaborate on what it is that you are experiencing so that I am able to assist you properly? Is it new and not connecting right? Has it lost communication and is now not working? How is it connected to the computer?
Have a great day and a wonderful new year. Get back to me.

  • HP Laserjet 1200 -- to HP Pavilion P6243w

    Greetings,
I've had a wonderful experience with the HP Laserjet 1200 that I've had for a few years.  When I upgraded my desktop to the HP P6243w (Using Windows 7 64-bit OS), I hoped I would be able to find a paralllel to USB adapter to let it work with the networking built into Windows 7.  However, it seems that nowhere online nor brick and mortar store has such an adapter, as the HP parallel port is a proprietary part from what I can read.  Is this correct?  If so, where can I get an adapter for this part, since I don't really want to purchase another printer for a few hundred dollars while this one is still working exceptionally?
    Thanks

Bumpity bump, still no luck on conversion?

  • Laserjet 1200 and Win 7 - small sheet orientation problem

I am unable to get my HP Laserjet 1200 printer to work correctly with Windows 7 when printing a document narrower than 8.5x11.  The problem is that a 4x6 sheet is fed through the center of the printer but win7 wants to print as if the 4x6 sheet were fed through the left side of the printer.  Any suggestions are welcomed.  Thank you.

It's almost like a memory problem? Like it doesn't get all the graphics sent to the printer until halfway down the page.
I use this for my small business to make labels for my products.  Does anyone know how to help?  I tried to call HP, but they are closed, it told me to do the online chat, but that said it didn't recognize my printer.  HELP!

  • When is a contract legal.  If the local store suggests I send in my 2008 Macbook in for 310 at their suggestion can the copany turn around and tell me it costs more than 1200 dollars?

I went to my local Apple Store with a display problem and was told 700 dollars to reair it there or send it in for a complete overhaul referbish for
310 plus tax.  I took it home consulted with my wife she said for a 2008 310 wasn't bad.  I brought it in and set I an agreement for the 310 and sent it in to returned in 3 to 5 days.  I also read online that others had done the same theing.  3 Days later I get an email from Apple that the repair would cost more than 1200 dollars and do I want to repair it for that price.  I called Tim Simpson and was told Apple doesn't honor agreements made at the retail store.  Should Apple be obligated to honor it's contracts.  I am assuming that Apple retail and Apple repair work for the same company.  The hinge problem has been a problem and Apple had a free  repair window for 6 months but didn't tell it's customers about it.  At least I never heard from them.  So when is a contract a contract and has Apple success lesoned it's famouse customer support.  We have been using Mac's since the 80's and currently have 7 products currently in use in our household.  I used to work for a computer consulting company and since moving to North Carolina moved completely to Apple.  Is it time to revise that thinking.  Thanks for you ear and input

    Hi,
Thanks for the response.  The store told me everything would be fixed for 310 because the go through the entire computer and fix any problems they find.  Now was that a written guarantee or a verbal assurance.  To Bob if I wasn't told that the price would be lower then I wouldn't have bothered to send it in and we would use it until it stopped functioning and know one would be upset.  It was at the store suggestion I sent it in and spent over an hour of my time traveling to an from the only Apple store in my area.  I worked in technology for 12 years and have dealt with and performed customer service on a professional level.  I have experience with contracts and if someone says we will do something for you writes up an invoice and does not say that it is up to the "depot" then there is a case to be made.

  • Photo Gallery page on iWeb - Sharing some experience....

I am an Aperture user and my starting point was to create nice web photo galleries from Aperture...
    - I got quickly frustrated with the lack of customization of the standard Aperture Web pages (font, color, size...).
    - Aperture 2.1 MobileMe galleries are a bit better but not what i wanted either.
    - Then i found out that i could easily export photos from Aperture to iPhoto, and then from iPhoto to iWeb, and that iWeb would offer me more customization options.
    - Following that route, i imported my Aperture photos into iPhoto, then used the Share/Send to iWeb/Photo Page function.
    - Having some experience using iWeb, i was able to customize the template somehow, but got frustrated by the apparently fixed web page size, which at first seemed to stick to a 700x480 format for the photo gallery... and i would like to show the pics at around 1200x1200....
    - Until i played with the Album style pop up window and found that depending on the style chosen, the photo gallery size could expand up to 1200 pix width ! (that with the Album style which is on 1st column/3rd row). But then double clicking on thumbnails would randomly expand the given picture to between 700 and 1200 pix width...
This is where i got to. Now a few questions, if you're still with me :
    - Am i correct to assume that there is no direct interface available between Aperture and iWeb, and that i need to use this iPhoto intermediate step?
    - Has anyone found a way to fully customize the size of photo galleries in iWeb (both for the thumbnail display area and for the magnified picture area)?
    - If not, can someone point me to a comprehensive resource detailing the iWeb template creation steps ?
Thanks in advance, and to add a wish : could Mr Apple think of standardizing/optimizing/improving the web gallery generation process across its platform for the next versions ?

I've read in this forum that Aperture has a setting to make it's photos available to other iApps, see this post, via the Media browser but not galleries created by it in the Web Snippet menu, see the last post in this topic.

  • 750 to 1200 line items per order

    Hi
Does any body have the experience of creating order with 750-1200 line items per order, in such scenario how the performance of the e-commerce was handled, was any custom development made to achieve.
    please let us know
    thanks
    vignesh

Stefan, as stated, this was not well thought through solution (but with some work would be possible to achieve).
Regarding memory leaks. We have spent quite a bit of time looking in-depth at the shop code over the years and have so far seen very little evidence of actual memory leaks.
MASSIVE memory consumption, yes, definitely, but no actual leaks
If you have a suitable OS and JVM running that will allow you to crank up your JVM memory settings then you will most likely see that the memory usage will plateau...it might just be at a much higher level than you would have reasonably expected.
To give you an example. One of our customers was running a very large catalog (900 000 items) and the shop used 22 GB of memory when running. One of the main reasons in their case, with such a big catalog, was how the web shop chooses to create web cat items and cache them. Deep in the standard shop code you can find that there are lots and lots of ArrayLists initiated and they are all given a >0 default length, which consumes memory even when empty. In this particular case this became such a big issue that we sent SAP the proof that if they would initiate the ArrayLists with 0 length the memory consumption would drop significantly for each WebCatItem instance.
We estimated at the time after some in-place replacements of the CatalogAttributeValue, class out of the pcatAPI.jar where we set it by default to null instead of size of 10 that we would have saved about 40% of memory consumption. We even prepared the test case and sent it all to SAP, but don't think we ever got it implemented in standard code.
Another suggestion was that SAP would implement a LRU cache for catalog caching for larger catalogs....again would help with memory usage challenges.
With another customer we had 1 Million+ hits per business day (8 h period) and I can't remember us ever having to chase up memory leaks in the standard shop code...they might exist, but perhaps the usage scenarios I've been involved in have just not brought most of them to daylight.
Purely out of interest...if you have found memory leaks in the shop it would be interesting to hear where you found them.
    Cheers
    Kalle

  • Is CISCO AP 1200 mountable on the ceiling ?

I am unable to find any reference to mounting the AP 1200 on the ceiling.
Does anyone know or have any experience
with mounting the AP 1200 on the ceiling.
We need to install about 22 of them all on the ceiling. I would appreciate a quick reply. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Seshan,
    The 1200 AP's can be mounted on the ceiling using the bracket that shipped with the AP's. Have a look at the instructions;

  • Ap 1200 cannot find bootable file

My AP 1200 cannot find the bootable file. It only gives me "ap:". Very little option to work with.
When I do "dir flash:", I only have env_vars, private-config and private-multiple-fs three files in my flash. Does anybody know how to rebuild config or load the boot file? I did "version" and it gives me version: 12.3(2)JA4.
    thanks,
    Gene

    Hi Gene,
Have a look at the method outlined below:
    Using the MODE button
You can use the MODE button on 1100 and 1200 series access points to reload the access point image file from an active Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server on your network or on a PC connected to the access point Ethernet port.
Note If your access point experiences a firmware failure or a corrupt firmware image, indicated by three red LED indicators, you must reload the image from a connected TFTP server.
Note This process resets all configuration settings to factory defaults, including passwords, WEP keys, the access point IP address, and SSIDs.
Follow these steps to reload the access point image file:
Step 1 The PC you intend to use must be configured with a static IP address in the range of 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1100-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for an 1100 series access point or c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1100-k9w7-tar.default for an 1100 series access point or c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point.
Step 4 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 5 Disconnect power (the power jack for external power or the Ethernet cable for in-line power) from the access point.
Step 6 Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 7 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), and release the MODE button.
Step 8 Wait until the access point reboots as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 9 After the access point reboots, you must reconfigure the access point by using the Web-browser interface or the CLI.

  • FYI - Just installed an APC Backup-UPS XS 1200 Model BX1200

This is a simple FYI... Read on if you have an interest in Backup-UPS systems for your Mac.
My experience with my neigborhood's power supply (or lack of it) this past week has made me think very hard about a UPS system. I did some research and ended up buying the APC Backup-UPS XS 1200 Model BX1200 to service my PM G5 Dual 2.5GHz system. This unit provides 1200VA and 780 watts.
Not only did I lose power abruptly several times this past week but have noticed at times when power supply AOK that my PM G5 would at times mysteriously shutdown for no good reason - but of course I suspect the power draw has caused my puny EnerGizer ER-HM450 UPS Power Protection device to give up on me. It has a VA rating of 450 and watts of 200 and supposedly a 2-8 mins of battery run time when power fails. This EnerGizer just wasn't doing the job for me.
My PM has 3 ext FW400 and FW800 devices and the PM case has two stock HDs and a 3x 500GB RAID-0 SwiftData 200 setup installed inside. Also have the Ultra 6800 graphics card along with 3x FW800 port PCI card and of course a 4-port FirmTek Card for the Swiftdata devices. I also have the Apple 23" Alu flat panel display along with iSight and powered USB hubs. On top of this I have a Brother B&W laser printer HL-5170DN, Cable modem and AirPort base station. Occasionaly I will also plug in my power supply for my 17" PB and various other things such as Mini DV camera, Cell phone charger and so on.
So as you can imagine the power draw can get quite high when all these devices demand their max power draw - especially the Brother laser printer.
The whole setup draws power from a single wall socket having 20amp circuit breaker. This same 20amp circuit also powers other wall sockets and over lights in my study/office where I house the computer.
So OK - I installed my new APC UPS unit and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. I now feel very much protected. It claims to provide me with some 30-40 mins of battery power after a power failure.
The nice thing about this device is that it's Mac friendly (I did not have to install any of the software that came with the APC device) and no sooner had I hooked up its data port to a USB port on the PM G5 the System Preferences... Energy Saver panel displayed a new UPS tab for setting up the various juicy things for the UPS system. It showed me the exact APC model I had just installed along with its UPS Battery Level percent (it showed 100% full). All very cool stuff.
I will take a look at the supplied APC software to see if some other goodies above what Apple provides is useful or not. This other software is called PowerChute and claims to have sophisticated Power Management - we will see. ;-))
Just thought others might find this report useful.
APC provides a useful web site for you to figure out and size the best APC unit to buy at http://www.apc.com/sizing
BTW - picked up this APC model at my local Staples store for $154 + tax.
    Regards... Barry

I've been looking around online for more "user" opinions on the matter of the importance of true sine waves and approximated. I just got off the phone with an APC representative who explained to me the difference, but of course, since he worked for APC, he thought the difference you pay for in a Smart-UPS is worth it. He said the basic BackUPS are made so that the company can stay competitive.
I actually own a Smart-UPS 1500 - WAY overkill for my setup. I'm just running a PowerMac G5 and a 30" display. But when I was shopping for one, a friend convinced me that my equipment will last longer if I go with the Smart-UPS. But the load on that thing is at it's lowerest indicator and it kind of feels like a waste.
However, I know we have bad electricty at our apartment in Los Angeles, and often get brown outs, so maybe it's worth having.
Anyway, my question is, does anyone have any opinions on how much our Apple computers suffer (or do not suffer) from AVR (approximated voltage regulators)? Is it really worth the extra few hundred dollars getting a UPS that will deliver true sine wave?
    I appreciate any insight.
    Thanks,
    Brian,.

  • Migrating to new Skype id + importing 1200+ contac...

    Hello,
I am new here to the forums however a long time Skype user. I recently ran into an issue which at first I thought would have been a minor infraction (mainly from my misinterpretation of bulk contact requests) but now has snowballed into a big problem.
I recently decided to migrate from one Skype account and move over to another. Following the normal Skype contact backup and import process, I proceeded to move my contacts over to my new Skype. Once I was sure everything was ready to announce my transition, I then updated the profile on my old account whereas I had changed both my Skype display name and Skype mood with updated info to suggest my contacts to start adding my new account.
While still logged into my old Skype account, I then opened a second Skype instance to log into the new account. From there I was able to welcome contacts as they added my new Skype account (since the process is "instant" from the receiving end after importing - I didn't want to be rude and ignore anyone lol). There were about a dozen contacts that I had clicked the "Resend contact request" link per chat window as needed (to get my "regulars" added back quickly).
By now a few hours had passed and my numbers were slowly growing. I knew I had a ways to go considering having 1200+ contacts, I assumed it would take a while. I also sent out a tweet about it to let my followers know of the change. It was a little more than 3+ hours in on my new account that I had experienced the infamous automatic sign out. After confirming by attempting to login on Skype.com, performing the password reset, and starting the account recovery process, I knew at that time my account had been restricted. I then submitted the support form for ownership verification and later discussions started with a support agent. I had explained my situation (but in greater detail than what I've shared here in the forums) and even re-read the Terms of Use just to make sure that I hadn't overlooked anything and concluded that other than an influx of contact additions (as my interpretation of the process for importing contacts was that incoming requests weren't considered bulk as I wouldn't be sending requests but rather receiving them) that I hadn't violated the Tou policy. I was later given a generic response with that familiar "canned" message response.
The message lightly describes how Skype protects my privacy and security by restricting accounts as soon as they receive information of suspicious activity. In the message, it declared that suspicious activities had happened in accordance with my current usage of which is dependent in Skype's Terms of Use via "http://www.skype.com/en/legal/tou/" and that my account will be kept restricted.
I felt this lightly made decision to be unfair considering the events leading up to it's restriction. I was very truthful and sincere when I made my case but felt it had fallen on deaf ears. From here I then decided to not give up and tried the live support chat session as an alternative measure. I presented my view of events, describing everything I could remember and to my surprise, I was greeted with a lovely support agent that handled my appeal. About mid-way through the chat session, just after letting the agent know I had added the few regulars using the "resend contacts link" per chat window, the agent told me that I should only add 1 or 2 contacts a day. I was bothered by having to be limited by 1 or 2 a day but simply replied back that I would do just that. Nearing the end of the chat session, I was then instructed that the agent would handle my issue and email an update shortly thereafter. She was really pleasant to deal with.
The following email was the response I received...
    Hello <NAME REMOVED>,
Thank you for contacting Skype Customer Service.
I understand that you were not able to use your account. I apologize to hear about the experience. Let me help you out the best way possible.
To inform, Skype has strict security measures that are programmed and systematized that sensitively detects any unusual, out-of-ordinary and suspicious activities on all accounts. Once there are activities detected which are not aligned with our Terms of Use, it automatically restricts the account for safety and security measures on our system and for the users itself.
After we verify the ownership, this is the time that will intensively review the account. We check the reason for its blocking, or what were the cause. We take considerations with orders, payments methods, calls, SMS, log-ins made, IP used, reports by other users, Node, device used, email address, webID's, Skype Manager, etc. Everything is actually recorded in our system.
After careful review and investigation, we follow certain protocol, process and procedure if account can be subjected to lift its restriction. However, in your case, it is regretful to advise that we will keep the accounts restriction as per security measures we have here on Skype.
We at Skype value the security of all accounts very highly and as such we are only able to reinstate the status if our process permits. Given the mentioned situation, we highly recommend for you to create a new account for you to enjoy Skype's services again.
You can also take time reading our Terms of Use to check what things can affect account suspension and to serve as a guide so that you won't get the same issue in the future again.
    Hoping for your kind understanding.
    Best regards,

I feel that I've reached a dead end with Skype support. I explained how I cannot create a new account as the name was directly tied into my online presence and simply changing to a different name on a new account was simply out of the question. Not to mention that if I had done so, we would most likely end up right back in the same predicament that landed me with having my account restricted. I had even asked about alternative methods for importing mass contacts to not trigger an automated system check that might deem it suspicious but was not given any recommendations (aside of just creating a new account). What I found curious about all of this happened to be how it was just the one account that had been restricted whilst my old account remained active and still signed into Skype.
I am unsure with how to proceed which is what brought me here in these forums. I've spent the past several hours reading related threads and posts while searching for an alternative method but I've since felt that I've exhausted further action to take.
My platform is Windows 7 64Bit w/SP1 and use both the latest 7.x build of Skype and on rare occasions, 6.21.0.104. I have no trouble logging info my old Skype account. If you need additional information, I will try my best to provide. Please accept my thanks in advance for any advice given, it will be appreciated.

    Hi there,
I signed up for a skype account few days ago. I added $30 credit to the account. Yesterday when I wanted to use the service my account was blocked. When I login I get the message '' You are currently restricted from purchasing services or redeeming vouchers. Please contact Customer Support to review your account status.'' I used the customer service support and they sent me an email exactly like the one wwwroot  posted it in this topic:

Myself I feel I reached a dead end. What will now happend with my credit ? It feels bad that I might loose the money I already added to the account. Also I believe I don't qualify for live support chat. I don't find a link to live support chat. I can not speak live with a person. I feel that they are not trying to solve my issue. I replied to this thread because I received an exact email from skype customer support.
