Ap2.14 Accessing old Vaults

I am trying to access an old vault in Ap2.14 running on Leopard. I have this old vault on an external HD, but it does not show up on the on the Vault menu. So since I can not even see the vault even though the external hard drive is mounted, I can not update the path to it.
How can I access this old vault?

I've spent over 3 hours on the phone/chatting to online support and none of it seemed to help as it all revolved around resetting emails etc but can't do any of it without my access to my old email. Now my phone won't take cloud because they advised to set up new apple ID and use that, but can't sign out of old one completely. The slightly bigger question is whether you want to move all movie content to the external drive (essentially meaning that drive will always need to be attached when you're working with your videos), or whether you just want to archive older videos off to the external drive.
If you want to move all videos, then just move the 'Movies' folder in your home directory to the external drive, then create an alias of the external 'Movies' back in to your home directory. Now the 'Movies' icon in your home directory will point to the external drive and everything will just work (as long as the external drive is attached when you launch iMovie)
If you want to archive older movies then each Movie should have its own subdirectory within your Movies folder. These can easily be moved off to the external drive, and moved back should you ever need to work on those movies again.

In Mail you can select Import Mailboxes... from the File menu. There is an import from Entourage feature.

Cannot delete an old vault that is not being used.

Cannot delete an old vault that is not being used. I get the following notification: The operation can’t be completed because the item “#3 Vault-GTech RAID mini-1TB” is locked. I placed this vault on a external HD until I set up a new vault with the same name in Aperture.
Now I want to delete the older Vault. Any suggestions? Thank you, Bob Stern

OK think I have it, but you'll need to use the terminal window and sudo to do this If you never used either then read this carefully before you begin.
start
Open a terminal, go to /Applications/Utilities and click on the Terminal app.
Type the following but do not press return: sudo chflags nouchg
Make sure to enter a space at the end of the above command
Go to Finder, locate the vault and drag it to the Terminal window at the end of the above command. The mouse pointer will turn into a green plus sign showing you your are dragging the file.
When you let go the full path of the vault will be at the end of the command, now press return.
If this is the first time you are running sudo you'll get some text telling you to be very careful. You'll also be prompted for your password, enter it.
Back in Finder in the Info window for the vault the Locked checkbox should be clear.

Terminal command that will let me access old username files...

... including files saved by timemachine? I've had a lot of computer problems, first wiped the drive. It was a chore getting old folders like "desktop" and "downloads" to open for me with my new username and for some reason I wasn't permitted by the system to use the OLD username. I had to go to every folder and every item in every folder and reset permissions.
Now, it seems, I need a new drive. Which means I have to do all those things AGAIN! Plus re-install software.
Is there a terminal command that will let me access old timemachine drives (plural) with (unfortunately) multiple usernames?
Please don't lecture me! I know I've been hopelessly stupid and inefficient. I promise to do better. At least I DID back up.

Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

Can't access old ver. 9, 11 & 13 clips after Windows upgrade

In Sept. 2014 I downloaded PE 13 from B&H, worked fine and was able to access old PE9 & PE11 clips. In Dec. 2014 had problems with Wind. 7 Home Ed. and had to upgrade to 8.1 (decided on Pro). Installed 8.1 Pro end of Dec. 2014 and bought PE 13 DVD from B&H to reinstall after I backed up my hard drive. Problem after install of 8/1 Pro and installing PE13 from DVD I can't access and restore old clips from 9, 11 & 13. Tried everything I can think of....any suggestions PLEASE!

With the old computer system, you have Premiere Elements 9, 11, and 13 projects. And, you import media into each and see thumbnails for each of your imports in the project media area of the program (in version 11 and 13, called Project Assets). CORRECT! Please as we go forward I have the PE 13 that was downloaded from B&H and worked perfectly with my previous assets in PE 9 & 11.
When you go to open a project in one of these programs and go to the project media area, do the source media thumbnails still show as before with image in the thumbnail? Or does the thumbnail have a display of circular arrows? If the present as before, can you drag the file from the project media area to the Timeline? If you cannot, it that the problem? NO! (First info is when I set up my new PE 13 after copying all data to a 1T desk drive and loaded Windows 8.1 Pro to replace my Windows 7 Home Edition, I set up the PE 13 and used 64 bit as suggested.) NOW...When I locate my previous Project Assets on the 1T drive they show as "red blocks" with a play arrow in them where previously were thumbnails, but I can't retrieve them. As such there is nothing to add to the timeline. Last night I added to the NEW PE 13 a 22 min program I'm working on. I have all those assets, thumbnails and everything is working as wonderfully as it did in 9, 11 and downloaded 13.
Now in response to a previous question you asked:

When you did the switch from Windows 7 Home to Windows 8.1, did you go 64 bit to 64 bit or 32 bit to 64 bit in operating system? Help me with a way to determine what the bit was on 9 & 11!
Were two separate computers involved or did you manage to change the operating all on one computer? All on one Computer
The major focus for me right now is to make sure I know what file triggers the ".....not have the required compressoer/decompressor (codec)"? And to know that
you are in the Premiere Elements 13 Editor and not the Organizer 13 workspace. Help me understand!!!! I know the difference between "Add Media", "Project Assets", "Organizer", "Editor" and "Workspace". But "Project Assets" and "Workspace" are part of "Editor", so I don't understand your question.

Aperture and old vaults

I've been using Aperture for many years, starting with Aperture1 and now on lastest Aperture3. On a failed back up i lost some picture from April 2009 to June 2010. I have old vaults and so am hoping that those pictures are in the vaults. The problem is that Aperture3 does not read the old vaults. I've tried to uninstall Aperture3 and them install Aperture2. Installation was supposedly successful but Aperture2 is not showing up in the Applications folder. I'm currently running Mac OS 10.6.8. Any suggestions?

1) Make a copy of the vault as a backup. PLEASE, DO THIS.
2) Unlock the coped vault in the Finder. "Get info" then unlock, enter your password
3) Edit it and change the extension from .apvault to .aplibrary. Confirm you want to do this
4) Double click it, and it should (hopefully) open as a new library, and ask if you want to upgrade it. Say yes.
With any luck, you should be up and running.
