Apache-ant file conflict not letting me upgrade

As of yesterday, whenever I run a pacman -Su, pacman -Syu, or pacman -Syyu I get the same darn error:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
apache-ant: /usr/share/apache-ant/etc exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Kalu is also telling me the same thing,
Error: System update failed: Failed to commit transaction: conflicting files :
- /usr/share/apache-ant/etc exists in both apache-ant and current filesystem
I'm not sure what to do. Is there any way I can upgrade apache-ant? I have other packages that need to be upgraded too that can't upgrade since apache-ant keeps getting this error. Any advice?

Be careful with that shit. I just nuked my /etc folder with that and pretty angry about it. Yes, force is not a good solution, but I was stupid too. I did not know that rm would follow a link to /etc, because this is a link!! Remove the link simply don't you dare to rm -r, this thing will take my day

have upgraded and some songs which used to play on iTunes 7 no longer play. album art is missing. when trying to play on of these songs, nothing appears in the playbar at the top of the window.
it seems the same problem exists in the mac os environment.

The solution I discovered to fix this problem was to create a smart playlist with all song of a kind containing MPEG. Then I went through album by album, and coverted ID3 tags using the value of NONE. This then enabled me to play the songs in iTunes 8.0 and in many cases restored the Album Art.

Error 403 occurred while downloading free upgrade to mountain lion... It will not let me upgrade anymore, help!

while downloading my free upgrade to Mountain Lion, my computer said "Error 403" occured and could not download the file. It gave me the option to retry and i pressed that button but the window continued to pop up telling me about the error so i pressed cancel and the entire download closed. I went back to try an redownload the fiel form itunes but it will not let me.

Do you mean App Store? I had the same error as you, but after a restart, it was there in my App Store under Purchases and I just downloaded it again.

2009 Mac Pro not letting me upgrade to Mavericks nor 10.8

I have a 2009 Mac Pro with OS 10.7.5 installed, it running perfectly fine but for some reason it's not letting me update to 10.8 nor 10.9. Mavericks works totally fine from ssd card mounted on a usb dock but when I try to use the SSD inside or the hard drive the Mac Pro came with it does not boot up. I was getting a problem when trying to upgrade Mavericks from the store where Mac Pro wouldn't boot, it will just show a question mark so I reinstalled OS 10.7.5. When trying to install Mavericks from a usb drive, Mac Pro does not see none of the internal hard drives and for some reason does not even let me eject the optical bay, has this happen to anyone if yes, what you do to fix the problem.

"Image" was not a reference to the physical drive, but rather the actual bytes representing the version of Mac OS X on the drive.
• If you built Mac OS X on that drive from the Mac OS X that shipped with another Mac, it will be trouble.
• If you built the Mac OS X on that drive from a "Full Retail", "Purchased" (for $0, but it still counts as a purchase) version from the Mac App store, it has all Drivers and should work fine.

NIKON D70 RAW files do not work since upgrading to Aperture 1.1.1

Prior to the software update to 1.1.1 everything was working fine with my D70 Raw files. I now get the maroon "Unsupported Image Format" (USF) when I select the images that were previously fine. They show up for a fraction of a second before I get the error. I tried rebuilding the database to no avail. I can export the RAW files and open them in Photoshop so they are OK. Also now when I import from my D70 I get the gray box instead of the image and a letterbox maroon USF message. I have not seen any posts relative to this issue and wonder if there is something else going on.

repairing disk permissions in safe boot mode:
1. To Repair Disk Permissions in Safe Boot restart your computer while holding the Shift key
2. Do not let go of the Shift key until your screen says Safe Boot
3. Once you see the screen with the words Safe Boot let go of the Shift key. If you need to login, login
4. Open Disk Utility located in the Utility folder of your Applications folder, it'll be down at the bottom
5. Select the hard drive that contains your OS & make sure that First Aid is selected (highlighted) in the Disk Utility window
6. Select Repair Disk Permissions
7. When Disk Utility has done its job you'll see the words "Permissions repair complete"
8. While you're at it & since the system is in Safe Boot I'll Verify the other hard drives & Repair them if they need it
Once the utility program has run through the operating system you can quit the application and restart the computer
I routinely use the Repair Disk Permissions feature in the Disk Utility application on Mondays (Maintenance Monday) so I park an icon of it in the Dock. It is a good idea to Repair Disk Permissions more frequently if you are power editing for many hours at a time or the application you are working on begins to misbehave.
Regardless of what application you are using (unless there is a known bug in the application) Repairing Disk Permissions will take care of many problems.
It is recommended to Repair Disk Permissions before & after installing software or software updates

I have deleted my iTunes files by mistake and when attempting to recover in time machine I am getting an error message 36 when it finds an incomplete file an I use another method.

I had this exact issue. Spent over an hour on the phone with apple support, they couldn't resolve. Here is what I ended up doing, that worked.
1. Turned iTunes match off on all my iOS devices
2. Deleted the offending playlists from the iOS device they originated on
3. Started iTunes, let it run (literally) for an hour before it became responsive. First thing I did, before clicking anywere else was disable iTunes match. If I clicked anywhere, it would clock for another hour.
4. Let iTunes run overnight, by morning it had cleaned out the repeating play lists. This got my Mac/iTunes back to an operable state.
5. Restore iPhones from backup in iTunes.
What was causing my issue was a single playlist that was created on an iPhone, then suddenly showed up with several thousand duplicates on my other iPhone. The culprit playlist did not, for some reason, duplicate itself on my two iPads. Apple support seemed to think it was because the problem iPhone tried to sync the playlist to iCloud over and over again unsuccessfully, then it finally went through and populated the thousands of blank/failed playlists which then tried to propigate to iTunes and my other iOS devices. Seems like a reasonable theory.
I have not yet re-enabled iTunes match. So, no idea what will happen if I decide to go back down that rabbit hole.

File types not registered when upgrading from CS3 to CS4

I installed my CS4 Design Premium upgrade before uninstalling CS3 - Win XP system. Now none of the file types that were registered for CS3 are registered to the CS4 programs. I've tried changing the settings individually in File Types with less than complete success. Is there a way to register all of the CS4 file types without reinstalling the entire package?

If you removed CS3 after installing CS4 you have a problem that is not restricted to file associations. You will need to re-install CS4.

Shockwave flash will not let me upgrade cause I messed up in trying.

I tried to many times to download shockwave flash and it now it won't let me and it shows still needs to be updated.

Thank-you Cor-el for trying to help me but firefox says it needs to be upgraded so I guess I'll just wait awhile and try again. The directions that are given for downloading were confusing to me cause I was reading the directions and clicked on the blue where the directions are instead of the blue that had just popped up to download. The directions do not fit on the page without moving the cursor and I just got lost doing it. Don't know why I didn't understand and did this I think 3 times and then it just blocked me. I had tried too many times. But I know how to do it and others the next time I have to download anything. I really appreciate you and others that are out there to help. I will checking that out. I don't know much so I doubt I could help anyone else but you never know. I might make someone's day and mine too if I could help someone. That would be awesome. Again Thanks.

PDF file will not let me add an interactive object

Quick run down of my problem...
The company I work at just got a new logo, and has to update a LOT of pdf's logo from the old one, to the new one... A way I found how to do this with minimal time is to create a button in acrobat pro, place it over the old logo, and then switch the button to "show icon" only and insert the new logo as an icon. This worked great for about 5 forms... until now.
I just hit a document that for whatever reason, the "interactive objects" actions are all grayed out, including the "add a button" option, which is what I need to use. I have no idea why this particular form is different from the others, but I can't for the life of me figure out why the options are grayed out on this form. The only difference I can visibly see on this document is that there is a "print form" button at the bottom... but would that button not allow me to add anything else? Also, if that IS the case, I can't figure out how to delete that "print form" button.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I need to switch these logos out asap. Thanks team.

Ah, yes. it has "make changes to the document" checked as "not allowed".
Is there any way to get around this? I imagine that whoever made this document up years ago clicked to make it non-editable, without any thought to the fact that it may need to be edited down the line (I can safely say that whoever created the original file most likely does not work here any longer so it will be near impossible to get a hold of it).
Is there a way I can save the file in a different format that would allow me to edit that file? Or something else I could do? It's a pretty intricate form and I really don't want to have to rewrite the entire thing just to change the logo at the top if theres another way around it.

ADE is not opening my .ACSM files and not letting me DEAUTHORIZE

So I am trying to download an e-book from my university's library and am unable to open it on Digital Editions. I downloaded Abode Digital Editions as it was instructed to do so on my library website. So I downloaded the file and tried to open it on ADE but was met with "Error. Check Activation!" notification. After looking up online I tried everything from deauthorizing/reauthorizing, uninstalling, unblocking the files and downloading an older version and I restarted the computer too.
Nothing worked so I kept searching. Many users kept insisting that Ctrl+Shift+D worked for them and so I gave it a go another time but unfortunately, I find myself am unable to deauthorize. Because every time I time my password it says "Unable to Erase Authorization.
Please try after some time." Please I really need some help because I don't want to fail and the textbook prices are sky high.
