Apache not starting after installing Lion

After installing Lion, my Apache local service doesn't start anymore.
in System Preferences > Sharing, the Web Sharing is not checked anymore.
If I (try to) check it, it try for half a second, and then is unchecked again.
No error message. I also reinstalled the last Xcode package, rebooted, nothing.
What to do? Thank you!

Commenting out that line simply disables mod_fastcgi (which might caus performance problems under a load).
In case you really need the mod_fastcgi to speed up apache2 you can easily compile and install it given you have the xcode development env installed.
(i've chosen the latest version which is a snap but still roughly 2 years old.)

this will install the apache mod_fastcgi.so into apples apache2 install and you should be able to continue with a fastcgi setup.
So far this has worked for me w/o any problem.

Local NAS not connecting after installing Lion, what is the fix ?

After installing Lion, my local NAS is not connecting, what can I do to fix it.

I have the same problem with my Conceptronic CH3HNAS and have found a free and easy solution.
Since a lot of people report they are able to access their NAS using apps other than the Finder itself, I decided to look for a free Lion-compatible File Manager to use instead of Finder.
I have found muCommander ( http://www.mucommander.com/ ) and indeed it works fine. All I did was click on the button highlighted bellow, go to "bonjour services" and select my NAS. It prompted me for my username and password and voilá, it works fine.
I keep Finder for everyday use and just load muCommander when I want to access the NAS. At least now I don't have to start my WinXP VM anymore just to access it.

Windows 8.1 is not starting after installing Bluetooth driver

I cannot start Windows 8.1 Pro (64Bit) after enabling Virtualization ( because I need HYPER-V ) from BIOS settings.
It was perfect before installing RaLink Bluetooth Driver update.
I use "HP ENVY 15 Touchsmart j001tx" laptop.

HYPER-V and Bluetooth individually works fine. But laptop is not starting up when both are installed. Please help me.

IPod service manager will not start after installing iTunes 10

iPod service manger will not start after loading iTunes 10. iPhone will not connect. I've removed reinstalled, wiped the registry reinstalled and deauthorized, removed and reinstalled from several different downloads. I have full permissions fo rservices and am administrator.. We now have three other units in teh office with the same issue.

Don't know about fixing PitStop. However, have you tried a simple repair on Acrobat. If Acrobat won't open you can do that from the Programs and Features menu (Add/Remove Programs in OS prior to Win7).

Once I had an iAS 1.0.2.2 running without problems. However after installing Patch 7 for Forms (released 27 august 2001) I get exactly the same error messages as Pieter. I have tried starting apache as administrator, comment out mod_ose, set wv_gateway_cfg, but none seem to work. Please help.

You haven't indicated if you have tried multiple DVD/CD's or just the one. Look under the "Apple > About This Mac > More Info.. > Disk Burning " do you see the Superdrive? If the system recognizes it but it doesn't work try a

Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.

IPhoto part of ilife '11 will not start after fresh Lion re-install

iphoto 9 will not start. It is from my ilife 11 disc.
Oh, I buy a new hard drive. I install lion successfully. All software works as it should. iphoto is installed then automatically updated by the auto update. Now iphoto will not open and says that it needs updating. I run automatic update and it says everything is up-to-date.
I found another post about downloading the iphoto 9 update and running that but it will not let me. So my iphoto is useless at the moment.
Can anyone help or has any ideas. I do not want to re-buy iphoto 9 on Apps store when I already have it (in theory anyhow)

CSA : Cluster not started after installing CSA 6.0.0.209

After installing CSA 6.0.0.209 on Win2003 Server,
the cluster service is not started.
The server said that the network connection service is not started.
The CSA is registered in the Management Center.
And the group is in LEARN MODE.
What is the source of this problem?

First off, do you get any events from that machine in the csamc ? If not, does it solve the problem if you disable csa and try to start the cluster service ? If so, then you could have a deny rule that has no log (even though that is highly unlikely if you are using the default policies) Also what clustering software are you using, microsoft or some other 3rd party sw ?

Oracle web tier install+config: opmn does not start after install

Centos 5 box.
After a silent install of web tier 11.1.1.2 opmn will not start. The installation was "complete" but I found some errors in the various log files.
When I try to start a process (for example) using opmn this error occurs in the log file:

The configuration of completed successfully.
Checking a screen shot of someone else's configure output theirs continues beyond
"Bootstrapping OPMN configuration files..."
and correctly generates the instance etc.
I have tried a reinstall, and also tried a generate a new instance using the silent config tool. Same errors each time.
Log also states;
Oracle Instance Home
                        Instance Home Size: 0 MB (or 40mb)
                        Available: 0 MB
. This varies between installs and configs but available is always 0. There is Gb's of space available in the directory and the user has write permissions.
Can anyone tell me why it is failing to correctly generate the wallet?

Solved. Oracle_home and Instance home must be subdirectories of MIDDLEWARE_HOME. MIDDLEWARE HOME and command to not install updates must be added to response file. Helpful to install and configure separately.

InDesign does not start after installing it first time due to missing plug ins ("Zusatzmodule")

I was using up to now InDesign CS3, but I bought the upgrade to InDesign CS 6.
After installing the new version I tried to start it, but during the start it complains about missing plugins and stops.
So, I can not run CS 6.
The missing modules are: SVG Export.apln and Dynamicdosuments.rpln.
What can I do to make CS 6 running?

I have to admit, that unfortunately I dont understand the reply. I was uninstalling, running the Adobe CS cleaner tool for CS 6, reinstalling (as suggested in other entryies of the forum). No improvement.
Question A: Do I have to run the cleaner tool for all CS including CS 3? I am a bit afraid of side effects and have nothing running afterwards. Since nobody confirmed in the forum that this will help I dont dare to play around.
Question B: Coming back to your proposal, what do you mean by proper admin privileges? I am the only user on this laptop and never did something to any admin configurations.
Finally, I installed CS 6 on another laptop. This works. However, this one I dont want or can't work with for other reasons.

Exchange replication service not starting after installing Rollup update 3 v3

I have installed rollup update 3 v3 for exchange 2010 sp1 on my mailbox server. This mailbox server is a DAG member. After installing update rollup, Microsoft exchange replication service on this server attempts to start & show status started for couple
of seconds & then gets stopped. This behaviuor continues untill i uninstall this rollup. I have installed the same rollup on other DAG member as well with no problem. The following errors are generated in the application logs,

I hope you are following the best practice to install rollup on DAG.
Suspend activation for the databases on the server being updated.
Perform a server switchover so that all databases on the server are passive copies. There will be a brief interruption in service for the mailboxes hosted on the active databases during the switchover process.
Install the update rollup.
Resume activation for the databases on the updated server.
Perform database switchovers as needed.
