API - To change user details

If you create Portal users through the API and then amend user
detail via the API using wwsec_api.modify_user then you find that
when the user logs into Portal, there details aren't visible from
the maintain user screen.
How do we synchronize the data we have just added via the API
call into, presumably the Portal30 schema?
It can be seen that their details on portal30_sso.wwsec_person$
are correct, however the corresponding table in the portal30
schema still contains the old user information. How can we
synchronize the two ? Preferably using an API
call?

I also have a similar ?, is changing user name a normal case scenario or a big problem in portal

  • Is there a API to  change user name in portal security realm

    Our portal application requires the functionality to change user login name which
    maps to the user_name in USER_SECURITY table.
    The com.bea.p13n.usermgmt.UserManager does not offer a API to change user name, so
    my code changed it directly in the USER_SECURITY table by JDBC.
    My concern is : other tables in portal db may also has the user_name which are not
    be changed correspondingly, this may cause problem which I don't see now (e.g. Entity
    table has user_name also).
    Question is: is there a safe way to change user_name consistantly in portal database?
    like a API or do I have to do it myself. If it is the second case, what other tables
    I need to change.
    Thank you for all your input.

  • Change User Details iView! (From Who Is Who results!)

    Hi All
    I am trying to find the iView that displays the users details (the one with the picture) when selected from the who is who iview.
    I can't find it anywhere can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi Phil,
    I'm not sure if I'm looking at the same Who Is Who iView that you are, but the results detail view doesn't have any tabs, just headings: Communication, Dapartment Misceallaneous.
    The one I'm looking for is only one iView with multiple views (its built with Web Dynpro), the location in PCD is as follows:
    Content Provided by SAP > End User Content > com.sap.pct.ess.employee > com.sap.pct.ess.iviews > Employee Search
    (there are two employee search objects, you want the one with the <b>com.sap.pct.ess.serv_employee_search</b> and <u>NOT</u> the one com.sap.pct.ess.area_employee_search which is just the Area Page for the Employee Search workset.
    To edit this iView, you'll need the JDI Cookbook for ESS and MSS modifications.

  • User details change on portal

    Hello experts, for some odd reason I have been unable to change user details on portal recently. I am getting the following error: "A problem has occurred in the persistency. The original message was: BAPI_USER_CHANGE@BWPCLNT500: ID=01, NUMBER=492, MESSAGE=You are not authorized to change users in group".
    I do have administrator roles and everything, and I used to be able to change user details (like e-mail and language). What I do not understand is why this suddenly stopped working, as it was working before (the funny thing is that even with the default administrator user from Portal it is not possible to change user details anymore). Still, how can I solve this problem? We are using EP 7.0 and another SAP system (ABAP) for user management. I am not in charge of the ABAP system, though I do have access to several transactions in there. I tried looking for the "BAPI_USER_CHANGE" thing, but I could not find it. Is that a role or something I need to assign to my user?

    Hi, thanks for the answers. I checked the roles of user SAPJSF. He has SAP_BC_FP_ICF, SAP_J2EE_ADMIN and he previously had SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO, but I changed it for SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICTION. However, once I restarted the Web AS, there was no communication between our backend system and the portal (checking the logs, I found the error "#1#com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: User SAPJSF has no RFC authorization for function group SYST." Therefore I added the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO role, without taking out the other one, and restarted the server. There is now communication between the backend system and the portal, but I still cannot change user details from within the portal.
    Any other ideas?

  • "You are not authorized to change users in user group XY"

    Hello,
    I ran a report. Within that report, a BAPI is called. It's name is user_change.
    That BAPI enables you to change user details like passwords and so on...
    When I tried to change the user's password, an error message occured.
    "You are not authorized to change users in user group XY"
    The user belongs to the group XY.
    After an unsuccessful pwd change, there is no SU53 file!
    So how could I solve that?
    Could I explicitly define for which user groups, passwords can be changed?
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    holger

    Hi Holger,
    May be they might have restricted to change password. See <a href="http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/bc/restrict-role-to-unlock-lock-change-password.htm">this</a> for more details.

  • OID API+ User details access

    Hi,
    We are using below API to get the user details defined in OID,
    public static javax.naming.ldap.InitialLdapContext getDefaultDirCtx(java.lang.String host,
    java.lang.String port,
    java.lang.String bindDN,
    java.lang.String bindPwd)
    then create user object based on ldap context.Currently we read the bindDN and bindPwd from properties file. What is the best way to keep the bindPwd ? We dont want keep in properties file.

    Enter the passphrase that controls access to the key on the command line when starting OC4J that portal runs on.OK. We used the ansatz from http://oracletechy.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
    Put a parameter in web.xml, say jndi-password:
    <env-entry>
    <description>Password for jndi</description>
    <env-entry-name>jndi-password</env-entry-name>
    <env-entry-value>thisisawrongpassword</env-entry-value>
    <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
    </env-entry>
    Then read it in via
    Context initial = new InitialContext();
    Context environment = (Context)initial.lookup("java:comp/env");
    st_jndi_password = (String)environment.lookup("jndi-password");
    We use this for an hashtable
    hashtable.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, st_jndi_password);
    This is the input for an new
              InitialLdapContext(hashtable, null);
    After the deployment the administrator must change the parameter jndi-password in the web.xml to the true OID passwort. But of course not by editing the file but using OC4J's OEM to change the environment variable.
    But now we find the password in the file orion-web.xml which is not what we have intended....

  • Changing user password in Active Directory using the JNDI GSS-API/Kerberos5

    Hello,
    I am trying to the JNDI GSS-API to change a user password on an Active Directory Server 2003. I have seen a variation of this using SSL on the thread [*http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592611&start=0&tstart=0*|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592611&start=0&tstart=0]
    but I can't seem to make this work using the GSS-API. I can successfully create a javax.security.auth.login.LoginContext.LoginContext and then call the login method on it to log in as a user. I then call the javax.security.auth.Subject.doAs() method which calls the run method in a class extending the javax.security.PrivilegedActionClass. But when I actually try to change the password using InitialDirContext.modifyAttributes(), I get the exception:
    *javax.naming.OperationNotSupportedException: [LDAP: error code 53 - 00002077: SvcErr: DSID-03190DC9, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), data 0*
    *If anyone can help me figure out why it doesn't work, that would be great!*
    P.S: I know the error seems to suggest that there might be some active directory setting that is preventing this from working, but I've checked all relevant settings on the Windows 2003 server Active Directory that I can think of: In the User properties->Account->Account options, I've made sure the user can change password. Also, in the Group Policy->Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Account Policies->Password Policy, Maximum password age is zero and so is minimum password age.

    }The relevant entry in the JAAS.conf file that is referred to as "marker" in the LoginContext constructor is:
    marker {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required client=TRUE;

    This is one of the two Active Directory operations I have never solved using Java/JNDI. (FYI the other one is Cross Domain Move).
    My gut feel is that the underlying problem (which happens to be common to both Change Password & X-Domain Move) is that Java/JNDI/GSSAPI does not negotiate a sufficiently strong key length that allows Active Directory to change passwords or perform cross domain moves when using Kerberos & GSSAPI.
    Active Directory requires at a minimum, 128 bit key lengths for these security related operations.
    In more recent Kerberos suites and Java versions, support for RC4-HMAC & AES has been introduced, so it may be possible that you can negotiate a suitably string key length.
    Make sure that your Kerberos configuration is using either RC4-HMAC or AES and that Java is requesting a strong level of protection. (You can do this by adding //Specify the quality of protection
    //Eg. auth-conf; confidentiality, auth-int; integrity
    //confidentiality is required to set a password
    env.put("javax.security.sasl.qop","auth-conf");
    //require high strength 128 bit crypto
    env.put("javax.security.sasl.strength","high"); in your ChangePasswordAction class.
    You may also want to enable sasl logging in your app to see what exactly is going on and you may also want to check on the Java Security forum how to configure/enforce/check both RC4-HMAC or AES is used as the Kerbeos cipher suite and that a string key length is being used.
    Good luck.

  • Changing data directly in employee user details / who's who

    Using: EP7, MSAD
    Hi all,
    I would like to know whether it is possible to add a modify button within the user details window (who's who) for changing data directly and not to change to a different location within the enterprise portal.
    if yes, how can I do that? Is it also possible to modify different fields depending on the department of the user who wants to change a profile?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    I think you'd need to write a brand new who's who for this...

  • OIM Update User Details API call.

    what exactly u wanna see in the code. it is simple as others api calls
    you have to pass a hashmap as aparameter.
    Map userdata = new HashMap();
    userdata.put("Users.First Name", "ABC");
    userintf.updateuser(userdata);

    Hello,
    You can change details of the user via IUserMaint interface.
    for example this is how you change the language of the user :
    IUserMaint Muser = uf.getMutableUser(userUniqueid);
    boolean res = Muser.setLocale(new Locale("en"));
    Muser.commit();
    You can find details about IUserMaint  in [http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/SPS09/se/com/sap/security/api/IUserMaint.html]

  • Is there any way to change user operations on multiple tracks at once?

    I have a complex project (99 tracks, dozens of menus and scripts). I need to make one version of this DVD for the end client (teenagers at health clinics) who will be forced to view it in a specified way, and another version for educators (staff at the clinics) who will be allowed to fast-forward and have access to a menu from which they can jump to different points in the DVD.
    I have different menus to serve as "first play" for these different versions so that I can easily switch between versions when burning disc images, and I have set up GPRMs to make navigation different for the two versions automatically. My problem now is that I want to disable forward scan, next program, root menu, and title menu for the client version. As far as I can tell, I have to do that independently for every single track and menu. Bleah. This is especially annoying since the DVD is still in development, so I am continuing to change small things and will need to keep both versions up to date as I do.
    Is there any way to select multiple tracks/menus and change user operations on all of them? Or any other work-around or script that could do it? I thought this would be a perfect task for the automator, but I'm not very familiar with that application and don't know how (or if it's possible) to create new actions other than the ones that are available.
    Any ideas?
    thanks!
    Julie

    Thanks. But the disc inspector only appears to let me change things like where the title menu button takes you, not detailed user operations. I have pretty much given up on this being anything other than a giant hassle, but if anybody knows whether a script could do this, I would be eternally grateful.
