App. builder - creating a dll more functions

Hi,
here I found, that is possible to create from LabView a dll this more functions. Each added VI, will be one function - http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=19858&query.id=416227 (question no. 3)
But I would need that the VIs (functions) are connected together, that one function will use what the another function did..
For example:
I'd like to create a dll (for TCP/IP communication) with 3 functions (Open connection, Write data, close connection). First, I call dll function Open connection, then can call several times function Write data and at the end, I want to close connection with the last function.
If I tried to create such dll from VIs, which contains blocks for these tasks, I was not able to create "a bridge" between the VIs - in my example it would be wire (connection ID) between blocks TCP Open Connection TCP Write and TCP Close Connection.
Has somebody experience with this?
Thanks

Hi Ondrej7,
Here's some example code that may be all you need! (just remove ".txt")
This DLL will only manage a single connection, but you don't have to pass any connection-reference to it.  I know nothing about Testpoint and don't know if we can pass strings Out of the DLL.  If this is a problem, then we should try outputting an array-of-bytes instead.
Cheers!

  • App Builder  - Create App from InDesign - "Sign In Failed - Please Try Again"

I'm launching the App Builder from the Folio Builder Panel in InDesign (CC), by selecting my folio and choosing "Create App".  When App Builder launches, it immediately errors, saying "Sign in failed, pelase try again".  I can select "Log Out" in the corner, and Log In (successfully), but then a message box appears telling me to create an app I need to launch app builder from the folio builder panel.
I have read the support article regarding folio and article names causing an error, but all my names appear to be ok - all just smallcase, no spaces or special characters.
    Anyone have any tips?
    Thanks,
    Gary

Make sure that you use your Creative Cloud account to sign in to the Folio Builder panel, and then choose Create App. If that doesn't work, try signing out of the Folio Builder panel, choose Create App, and then sign in.

  • Can I call a regular LabVIEW VI from my C# application without first creating a DLL in the application builder?

I am writing a C# application and have LabVIEW 8.2 and the Application Builder. I want the application to call different standard VIs included in LabVIEW. One way to solve this is to create a blank VI, insert the desired standard VI, have the Application Builder create a DLL and then let the application call the DLL. Something tells me there must be a shortcut to this, is there? Aren't all standard LabVIEW VIs really DLLs underneath the surface? Can I somehow call those DLLs directly?

NO, LabVIEW is a programming language and contains a lot of primitives. Some VIs are wrappers for DLL's but even calling these from C(#) might be a problem.
You can exploit the LabVIEW ActiveX interface to perform all the actions you want.

  • Can I create a dll from labview with more that one function name

I know that when I create a dll from C and then call it in labview using the call library function node I can see the different functions on the configuration screen. Is there a way to create a dll in labview to have more than one function name? No matter how many functions happen in my VI it seems to build into a dll under the same function name requiring inputs for every function, can this be avoided somehow?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Each function corresponds to a separate VI. When creating the dll, on the Source Files tab of the app builder, click the Add Exported VI for each VI that you want. SubVIs of a main are not automatically exported and will not be available as separate function calls.

  • Creating app for Android/Kindle with App builder and Single Edition (No professional or Enterprise)

    Hi there,
I know there is no official support for Android in Single Edition, but, once you have installed Indesing CC and App Builder in a mac, and you create app from your Folio menu, is it possible to create then an Android/Kindle apk app for publishing by your own?
Has anybody published sucessfully in this way?
Other point, is that I suposse that you need a Professional or Enterprise licence to create an android app from the Web-enablet App Builder. Cause I can't find the way the make my single account to join the role to this function (And app builder website website just tells me I have to do this, as if I were able to do it with my license...).
By the way, I think Adobe should explain more clearly this points. There is too much documentation, but difficult to find this answers... And a lot of people with the same troubles...
    Thanks!

    Thanks Tomek!
So, can you confirm if you join the Professional edition (just for a month) if you are able to use both options App Builder/Web-Based App Builder, to create the app in a way that you don't need to be suscribed more time to Professional Edition to be downloaded by the users in Google Play/Kindle Store, and it should work for Applestore (iphone apps) too. I mean, once again, no using Multi-issue and Renditions, cause in this case I know they are hosted by Adobe and you need the subscription to be downloaded.
I think there are discussions here about this topic, but it's not exactly clear what I'm asking. So, I still don't know if I should buy the Professional Edition or go to another supplier as you said.
I hope that Adobe improve these functions! There should be native support for these platforms, cause at the end you only can publish to the applestore with the Single Edition and everbody knows the "too booky problem" with the apps. And we should have support to publish to ibookstore because of that too, without third party solutions.

  • Adobe creating an app-building software program?

Any guesses whether or not Adobe might ever create an app-building software program in the not too distand future?
I've been tempted by some other 3rd party plug-ins like Kwiksher and Corona, which allow one to build a multi-page app with animations and sounds for the iPad and other devices.  Kwiksher is based on Photoshop, so it would simply many steps of the learning curve.
    http://www.kwiksher.com/
    http://www.anscamobile.com/corona/
It seems logical that Adobe would build such a program, but I'd be curious if anyone on this forum knows if such a thing is in the works?
Also, might anyone recommend any other new multi-media app development tools that are simple and based on photoshop?
    Thanks!
    jn

I'd be looking to create children's book apps where each page might have simple sound effects, slight animations (like moving or twirling an image), and also include the option of having music and short mp3 voices... upon clicking.
Since I'm not a programmer, I wonder if there is any program that does that?  Or whether Adobe might be planning one that's as simple to use as  Kwiksher?
I can't do any coding... but I draw pictures and create digital images and am a published author.
So I wonder if there is anything in the wind about whether Adobe might be creating something for this market?
I know that Apple is anti-flash... so considering that a huge portion of the e-book and app market is through Apple's iTunes, that would be problematic.
I know that Indesign CS5 can publish text documents to an epub format.... and they can include limited multi-media features like movies, but I'd be looking for a program that might do a bit more than that.
    Thanks!

  • I have a CC subscription and the app builder is not showing the app after I "create app" in FB

    what am I doing wrong?

    Thank you; here's more information:
I've just used the Creative Cloud for the first time, and I made the mistake of using the wrong Adobe ID in DPS App Builder. I went through all the steps to the end in the wrong account, and now it is asking for a single edition serial number.
I then moved the folio to the right Adobe account, but I can't delete it from the first one, and when I try to "create app" in FB, nothing shows up in the App Builder.
I'm using v23 tools, with CS6 inDesign, on a Mac running 10.6.8, and the latest download of App Builder.
I see the app when I log into the wrong account but I can't delete it. I moved it over to the right account (the one I signed up for CC with) and it won't appear even when I rebuild in FB and sign in correctly to App Builder.
I'm not sure what to do from here...

  • Error #1009 when creating apps in App Builder

Customers using DPS App Builder to create applications with .mobileprovision files created in the iTunes  Developer Portal after 7/17/2014 are experiencing error #1009 when attempting to create the application. This only impacts customers using .mobileprovision files created after 7/17/2014. Older .mobileprovision files will work correctly.
We are investigating the changes necessary to update App Builder to support recent changes to the .mobileprovision files generated by the iTunes Developer Portal. An update will be posted to http://status.adobedps.com/ by Monday, July 21st, at 8am PDT.

    Hi,
Based on my research, there are many factors can cause this issue. For more details, we can refer to the following possible causes:
Some configuration did not configure well. Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager to check all the configuration, see
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337424(v=sql.110).aspx on Reporting Services Tools.
In the reporting services configuration manager tool, rebuild the virtual directory of report manager/report server.
If the report server enables SSL, recreate a certificate and then rebind it to report server.
It may resulted in config file of the report server / service.
changing the AuthyenticatonTypes to RSWindowsNTLM in the report server config file.
Besides, the issue can also be caused by the web.config for the SharePoint site was not correctly modified by the Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint. For more details, please see the following posts:

  • App Builder generates Error 1 when I create installer

When I compile my project without creating the installer, it runs fine. However, when I check the box "create installer" (with or without the Advanced /LV Runtime Engine box checked), the build fails, and I get an Error 1 - ..Input Parameter is invalid. See attached scrren snapshots.
    Attachments:
    CompilerBug_TTower.xls ‏39 KB

Bill, NI Tech support suggested I save my project in LV60 format, recompile, and see if the error still occurs. I did this. However, I could not export the .bld file from LV61 to 60, so I had to re-create it. No error occurred when I compiled this (with installer) in LV60. I then loaded this project back into LV61 and compiled it - also, no error! So I have no idea what caused this. However, I did ask NI for a wish list item - to add more error info in App Builder, so that one knows what input parameter or VI caused the problem. (With 300 Vis is a project, it is a daunting task to find the probelm otherwise).

  • How do I create a single file installer for LV 6.1 App Builder Output?

I have created an application using the 6.1 App builder and it installs fine. To be able to send this app to others, I would really like to put it in something like a self extracting executable file. How can I do this with app builder or can you suggest another software to buy that will let me create this.
Thanks for any help that you can provide

You raise a number of important points. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.
    1. Usually true. Win98/2K/XP have the Windows Installer Service built in, but 95/98/ME require InstMsiA.exe, and WinNT4 requires InstMsiW.exe. The difference is in the character set (ASCII vs. Unicode), and I don't know how that difference applies to the non-Roman alphabet installations. It's safest to include both if you're going to include one.
On the same subject, I noticed that the first thing the LV7 evaluation installer does on a Win2K box (and therefore probably on a Win98 box as well) is update the Windows Installer service, so LV7-built executables may very well require InstMsiA.exe/InstMsiW.exe on Win98/2K.
    2. I think so. I usually don't distribu
te LabVIEW EXEs as self-extracting installers, but it probably is safest to wait until the setup is complete before returning control to the self-extractor software.
    3. True. (And note that one of the circumstances under which you might repair/update msiexec is with LV7 on Win98/2K).
    4. True. Setup.exe appears to install/update msiexec if needed and then launch the MSI file.

  • Creating a DLL in LabVIEW containing a function using pointer to pointer

    Hi!
I´m facing the problem to create a DLL from LabVIEW containing the following C-function:
    functionF(structS** arrayA) ,
    where:
structS is a struct of various data-types (e.g. int)
arrayA is an C-array of structS
How can this be done? Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your support

This cannot be done in LabVIEW. LV doesn't have the data type "Pointer" as C has.
The only workaround I can think of is to use an array of strings in LV and in the interface define the parameter as "by reference". In LV you have to typecast the wire with the string to a cluster withthe layout of structS.
As far as I know an array of strings is represented as an array of pointer to strings. This is because strings are variable in length and therefore LV uses this method storing the pointers to the strings in the array and not the elements as usual.
You have to read the document about memory and data types of LabVIEW. In elder versions this was in the LabVIEW Bookshelf but I haven't found it in short in the newer version.

  • Steps required to create apps to implement various web parts functionality

    I have office 365 E3 a/c.
For a site we have to create few apps whoose required functionality is like
    1. Newsfeed Webpart
    2. Blog webpart (source is library)
    3. CQWP
    4. Carousel web part
    5. Calendar control
Please tell all steps required to create apps for above mentioned functionality.
What will be steps and plan for this?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create apps to implement various web parts functionality.
You can use CQWP in the SharePoint Online. You can refer to:
When to use the Content Query Web Part or the Content Search Web Part in SharePoint - SharePoint Online for enterprises
In addition, there are some great articles about other web part for your reference:

  • HOw DO I delete apps to create more storage so I can back up

HOw can I delete apps to create more storage or delete videos or photos from iphone. I have deleted some from my Mac desk top already. They should be deleting on all devices, right. PLEASE ADVISE ASAP

If you're talking about backing up to iCloud, deleting Apps is almost irrelevant.  Apps aren't backed up to iCloud.  App Data is, but that's usually a small amount.  Plus, you can control what gets backed up to iCloud.  Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > This Device.  Then, turn off whatever data you don't want backed up to iCloud.  Usually, Photos & Videos take up the most space.
You can turn that off, and simply import your Photos & Videos to your computer for safekeeping.
Also, you can increase your iCloud storage from the free 5GB to +10 GB ($20/year), +20 GB ($40/year) or +50 GB GB ($100/year).

  • Creating an iPhone app in DPS app builder?

I'm trying to create a test Iphone (Newstand) app before publishing but when I go to 'create app' in Indesign the DPS app builder loads up but doesn't give me the option to create an Iphone app, just a Ipad one?
I've noticed my version of the DPS app builder is on single edition but I have a developers licence now so I assumed that would have changed?
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
    best regards
    Spencer

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for the info.
So basically I can't create any Iphone apps with what looks like the single edition I have.
I'm trying to create some apps for the Newstand so I've already created a Ipad version but was also hopeing to have a Iphone version too
It says you can create unlimited Ipad apps with the single edition but would that include multiple editions of a magazine rather than an update of an existing one?

    Then you either need to:
    1) Sign up for Creative Cloud so you can build a Single Edition app. Be warned though: this approach will no longer be valid as of May 1st when we retire support for Single Edition in Creative Cloud, and Single Edition apps are only on iPad devices.
    2) Sign up for a full DPS license. You can request pricing information by filling in Adobe | Request for consultation.
