App Layer: Activate / DeActive

Current situation:
App layer is always visible (active) for all users
Feature request:
Have a feature to activate /deactive app layer based on user group (ad).
all App Layers could be part of deployment.

Yes.
I would like to see one connection point for all applications (Win, Mobile, SaaS)

  • Passing blob from app layer to web layer

    Hi,
We have some PDF files stored in Oracle database. I can retrieve them out using the ejb's from the app layer, but can not pass it to the web layer as a blob. I guess blob data type is not serializable. Appreciate any suggestions.
    Adam

a blob is a specfic datatype and should not normally be exposed to the web tier. So try using a byte array or byteStream. Both work for me.

  • App Layer: Capture Cleanup

    Current situation:
A recored App Layer cannot be managed in any way. Any recorded data, including garbage, will be part of an App Layer.
    Feature request:
Have the possibility to cleanup the App Layers by interacting with the actual captured data.
Something like a ThinApp Capture folder where we can remove unneded data like MSI installer backup files, other temporary data, etc.

  • ASA app layer inspection and CX IPS inspection

ASA application layer inspection is critical for protocols such as FTP and SIP for well known reasons.  When implementing a CX module, my understanding is that either the ASA implements inspection or the CX implements inspection.  For instance, if I want my CX to inspect HTTP I need to forward that traffic via a policy-map to the CX engine and ensure that the ASA is not configured to inspect HTTP.  Easy enough.
What I am unclear about is if it is desired for the CX to inspect protocols such as FTP and SIP.  In my case I'm running the CX IPS which does list some FTP and SIP threats.  If I direct this traffic to the CX for IPS inspection, where would the app layer inspection occur for processing SIP embedded IP addresses or FTP secondary channels?  Or, is it necessary to ensure these protocols remain inspected by the ASA?  Finally, does the answer change for the WSE license?

    Hogoqo,
Thanks for the reply. Does this config mean that "default-inspection-traffic" will not be sent to the IPS module?
What I initially wanted was to send ALL traffic to the IPS module, and also use statefull inspection for the default-inspection-traffic.
Is this a bad practice (to send all traffic to the IPS module)?
The ASA is configured with 3 interfaces (inside, outside, dmz), with an e-mail server in the DMZ. In the future, there will also be e-commerce servers in the DMZ.
Should I send to the IPS module only traffic that has the destination as one of the DMZ servers?
I am new to IPS, and kind of confused.
    Thanks!

  • Is there any app to activate diverted call notifications

Is there any app to activate diverted call notifications

Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are out of luck if you want to play on-line, but again some of them have app versions in the store.

  • Change grey background behind app layer

    Hi,
Wondered if there is a way to make the grey area behind the app layer, which shows up while flex is loading, another colour?
    Cheers

This LiveDocs page will give you information answering your question:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=app_container_2.html
Search for "Overriding the default Application container styles" within that page.
The backgroundColor property specifies the background color of the Stage area in Flash Player, which is visible during application loading and initialization, and a background gradient while the application is running. By default, the backgroundColor property is set to 0x869CA7, which specifies a dark blue-grey color.

  • App Layer: Dependencies

    Current situation:
App Layers that have dependencies need to be covered and assigned manually by the admin.
    Feature request:
Add the capability to define App Layer Dependencies:
Doesn't need to be a dynamic dependency recognition, since this would be very difficult to code and it requires knowledge of the individual apps.
Instead it could be implemented statically:
The admin defines which packages depend on each other. Once assigning an App Layer with dependencies, the dependent App Layers are automatically assigned as well.

  • App Layer: ThinApp Integration

    Current situation:
Only Native Installed Apps can be assigned as App Layers.
Of course also ThinApps can but they have to be part of a Mirage App Layer which doubles the work...
    Feature request:
Integrate ThinApps to be deployed side-by-side to native Mirage App Layers.
As an example it would be useful to import or specify the location of the ThinApp Repository, which would then allow us to select and assign the different ThinApps (executables, not MSI's!).

    Yes.

  • Isdn Layer 1 deactivated when there is no active call

    Hi All,
I am in Nairobi Kenya. Here we use ISDN Basic-net3 and my problem is that most of the telco switches here deactivate Layer 1 when there is no active call.
When I try to initiate a call by using the ISDN test call command I get an error to the effect that B channel is not available.
The only way I can initiate a call is I first call the line then and then disconnect. Then I have about 5 seconds to make a test call and pings are successful. How do I make the router initiate a call when layer 1 is deactivated.
the debug isdn q921 out has nothing till a call comes in.
I also understatnd that European ISDN switches deactivate Layer 1 when there no active call. I dont have a problem with one of the switches, coz it does not bring down the line when there is no active call.
    Thakx in advance
    Martin

    Thanks for the quick response.
    It is a cisco 1760
    The IOS is c1700-sv3y-mz.122-15.T5.bin
When I try to make a test call the show isdn status initially indicates that the router is trying to activate layer 1 then after 5 seconds it indicates that it is deactivated.

  • BRI problems / layer 1 deactivated

    Hi there
I could really use some help for this issue. I need to implement a BRI line for voice as backup for a SIP line.
However I cannot make layer 1 come up as active. I know for sure the line is working as attaching a phone to the ISDN2 line makes me able to receive and make calls. So the line is ok from teleprovider side. Must be cable issue, makes a cable according to Cisco doc. "When the ISDN BRI port on the router is configured as an NT port, you must use a "rolled" cable (one with the transmit and receive leads swapped) to connect to a TE interface." But this does not help me still same outcome.
    Any help is much appriciated.

I had this problem a few months ago and it took several days of investigation and research to figure it out but I got there in the end.  Hopefully this will save someone else a lot of frustration!
In short it was mainly sorted by adding the bearer-cap Speech command to my extra voice-ports.
This command specifies whether the 'call' will initialize for voice or data during the setup and can cause the line to drop/disconnect if it is set incorrectly.
    FULL DETAILS
My client was using a UC540W-BRI-K9 with 2 phone lines coming in over a single ISDN device connected to a voice-port.  They had purchased a plug-in 2-port voice-board to allow them to utilize another 4 phone lines via an extra 2 ISDN devices, however the company who installed this had failed to configure the system properly so even after I activated the extra lines they would always fail to dial-out as above.
The first step was to tell the plug-in voice-board to use the network-clock and set the ISDN-connected BRIs to use the network-clock:
    network-clock-participate wic 1
    network-clock-participate wic 2
    network-clock-select 1 BRI0/1/0
    network-clock-select 2 BRI0/1/1
    network-clock-select 3 BRI0/2/0
I spent time investigating the BRI configuration, adding a few bits which I think helped activate the lines, although I still had the outgoing call failures on the new lines:
    interface BRI0/1/0
     no ip address
isdn switch-type basic-net3          <--- Copied this command to the other BRIs
isdn tei-negotiation first-call   <--- Added this to all the BRIs
     isdn point-to-point-setup
     isdn incoming-voice voice
     isdn sending-complete
isdn static-tei 0                          <--- Added this to all the BRIs
trunk-group ALL_BRI 64                <--- Copied this command to the other BRIs
I then found the voice-ports had a separate configuration independent of the BRIs and the newly connected voice-ports required a couple of commands to be copied from the original, working voice-port.  The problem was fixed once I applied the bearer-cap Speech command to the extra voice-ports, along with compand-type a-law (for a European system).
voice-port 0/1/0          <--- The original voice-port connected to the primary ISDN
     compand-type a-law        <--- Copied to the newly-connected voice-ports
     bearer-cap Speech         <--- Copied to the newly-connected voice-ports
    voice-port 0/1/1            <--- Connected to 2nd ISDN
     compand-type a-law
     bearer-cap Speech
    voice-port 0/2/0            <--- Connected to 3rd ISDN
     compand-type a-law
     bearer-cap Speech
    voice-port 0/2/1            <--- Unused
The compand-type command is used to convert signals from analog to digital and is normally compand-type u-law for North America systems and compand-type a-law for European systems, as explained here:

  • PRI Showing Layer 1 DEACTIVATED

    Hi All,
I have an office where the D channel on one of the PRI's is down and when I run the show ISDN Status I get the following output:
    ISDN Serial0/1/0:23 interface
            dsl 2, interface ISDN Switchtype = primary-ni

        Number of L2 Discards = 4, L2 Session ID = 110
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0
I have a ticket open with the carrier who keeps telling me they can loop up to the smart jack, and that the patterns they are running are all coming back clean but layer 1 is down.
Am I correct that this has to be a physical issue?  No layer one connectivity means I am dead in the water until someone goes to the MPOE at the site and checks the circuit out, right?
Just looking for a sanity check here.
    Thank you.
    Rgds,
    Vicky

  • Isdn layer 1 deactivated

i have a isdn line. it works well with other vendor isdn modem but when i connect a cisco router it's layer 1 state is deactivated.
    when i type the command
    sh isdn status
The current ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
    ISDN BRI1/5 interface
    Layer 1 Status:
    ACTIVE_ErrorInd
    Layer 2 Status:

    Layer 3 Status:
    0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
    Activated dsl 13 CCBs = 0
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 7
and when i type this command
    sh controller bri 0
Layer 1 is PENDING ACTIVATION. (ISDN L1 State F3)

    Hi ,
I also faced the same kind of problem and resolved by reloading the router.
Most of the L1 states are temporary, and you can clear them with the ""clear interface bri number command"" or with a router reload.
Once you reload the router , check the voltage on NT1(Rj-45 jack pin 3 and 4) and it should be with in 92 to 104 volts. If you are not getting the voltage follow-up with telco.

  • Font Book automatically activates deactivated fonts

I've got a whole load of fonts in my (hard disk)>Library>Fonts folder, most of which I deactivated in Font Book as I use them very rarely.
But every time I reboot my Mac, Font Book reactivates all the fonts, which is a right royal pain in the backside!
Please can anyone suggest the best way to stop it doing this?
Blue Dalmation iMac Mac OS X (10.4.5) 600mHz processor, 1Gb RAM

    Robin --
The fonts in your HD>Library>Fonts folder are put there by the System.
(Unless you purposefully put others in that location.)
There are several that have to be there for your computer to work well.
    They are:
    Courier.dfont
    Geneva.dfont
    Helvetica.dfont
    Keyboard.dfont
    LastResort.dfont
    LucidaGrande.dfont
    Monaco.dfont
I learned from terrible experience, that it's an excellent idea to leave
the System Fonts alone. There are some you can fool with, but I wouldn't do it again if my life depended on it. Fonts in the Users>Library>Fonts can be fooled with, but not the System fonts.
Here's a great FAQ on fonts in OS X
    that should help you out.

THanks, yeah I wanna ask some concerned people if they would like "Per-app automatic update feature" where in if a user wants a version and is happy with it, that user has the ability to turn off automatic update for that certain app in the setting menu, cause that user does not wan't any possible bugs and added feature that might be introduced in future updates (e.g. Lost of data) wich I saw several times already on reviews of certain new updates of certain apps; and at the same time he could do automatic updates on certain apps that are problematic or unstable.. Thanks much..
