App store mavericks broken

I have tried every trick I can find - restarting, resetting PRAM, deleting prefs - mothing. App store opens, and sits there with a blank background. Each section icon (Features, Updates, etc.) will 'light up' when clicked, but does nothing. In fact, they can all be lit up at once.
I can't do any updates, I can't do anything at all n AppStore. I even get occasional updates on one-day discounts and such via the AppStore, and I can't even take advantage of them! This is insanely frustrating!
Is there any other intel on this?

No good. That's one of the many things I have tried. It does the same thing - opens to the blank window, and then nothing, same as in my main account.
Just for clarity, here is what I have tried:
Launching AppStore from another profile
Deleting prefs and caches for AppStore
Restarting in SafeMode
Repairing Permissions, and disk
Performing all periodic maintenance scripts
Resetting PRam & NVram
Some odd voodoo with deleting the ethernet profile, restarting, re-adding ethernet, restarting again (from another thread here???)
Logging out of iTunes store and resetting caches there, then restarting.
Turning auto-updates both off and on in System Prefs.
Standing on one foot and rubbing a cat on my head by the light of the full moon...
(Well, ok, I didn't *really* think that last one would work...) Seriously, though, I'm not new to taming odd Mac quirks, but this one is just not budging.
The only thing I haven't done is reinstall the OS via Restore because, really? I don't have a week to fix this via WiFi (reason No. 535 that I think the whole "no media OS install" is a poor idea.....) Although, i have seen plenty of folks that did the reinstall, and siad the issue came back within a couple days, so it seem that isn't any more of a fix than the rest of the voodoo....

  • IOS 7 App Store is BROKEN!

Well, Stupid Me won out over Sensible Me and I downloaded. Received several notifications that I had apps which required updating, so I attempted to download. "Download failed". This is for ANYTHING downloaded from the App Store NOT just updates!
    THE APP STORE IS BROKEN!
I'm also unable to autocorrect words typed in uppercase (for example, it will no longer correct 'CANT' to 'CAN'T' and, if you move the cursor back against the word, you don't even get the option - pop-up bubble - to change it. As you can't type in bold, I do use caps quite a bit for emphasis, so this is really rather irritating!).
The keyboard is also really rather unresponsive when compared to iOS 6 (especially in Safari and FB).
Maybe there are settings I'm overlooking for everything else - if so could someone point me in the right direction. I'm autistic and I get frustrated when I don't understand stuff!
But the App Store is most DEFINITELY broken! Can't download anything - not updates, not new apps, not mags, not papers - not ANYTHING!
    Anyone else...?!
    Sarah X❤️X

For the keyboard and autocorrect features, try resetting your iPod
Reset: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
I wonder if the App Store is just down because the servers are overloaded from everyone trying to download iOS 7.  You might need to wait and try again later.
If it's still not working, you might want to try resetting your network settings.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

  • Mac App Store completely broken in Mavericks??

Ever since I updated to Mavericks, the App Store has been completely useless for me.  I had 6 pending updates, but whenever I click on "Update" (whether from the Updates page, Purchases page, or the app's page itself), I put in my Apple ID, and then the "Update" button goes white for about 2 or 3 minutes, then I get an error popup saying "An error has occurred", and the same thing in little red text next to the Update button.
I have done absolutely everything I can think of - I've signed out and back in to the App Store, restarted the computer, even repaired my disk permissions.  Now to top it all off, one of my updates (iMovie, which I was very excited about updating), has now disappeared, and now says "$14.99" as if I never bought it, although strangely all my other updates including iPhoto are still listed there.  What the **** is going on???

If this happened to me, I would check System Preferences > Date & Time and System Preferences > Lanugage & Region to make sure I was pointed to the right store.

  • Apps Store still broken

It's been a week now and the Apps Store is still broken. Does anyone know if Apple has posted an estimated fix date?

    hexonxonx wrote:
It's not broken. The changes that took place last week are the way it's meant to be,
No it's not. The only change was that the release date would no longer be changed when an update was released. Some vendors were trying to "game" the system by making minor changes and then releasing the app to get a newer date. For example, App X 1.0 was originally released on 1 Aug, so it is now down in the pack. The vendor would make a minor change, and release version 1.0.1 and get a new release date of say 15 Sep.
The change Apple said they were making was that app versions 1.0.1 through 1.9.9 would now keep the release date that is for version 1.0.0

  • Mac App Store Mavericks update greyed out

When I try to update to Mavericks in the Mac App Store on a MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012) running OS X 10.7.5, but the "Install App" button does not appear to do anything, and in the "Purchases" window, the OS X Mavericks button is greyed out.
I have tried restarting, killing the storeagent, deleting the plists, and nothing seems to help.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

    Select
    Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. Stop or resume the download.

  • App store updates broken regarless of device or iOS version for days now?

Your Apple App store updates are just plain broken.(period)! It doesn't matter the device or the iOS release.
I have various devices, ipod Touch(s) several versions, iPhones, Ipads several versions and it makes no different which iOS or device;  some are at 3.1, some are at 5.1 and some are at iOS6.  All show app updates, NONE seem to get conected or work by staying connected.
I have done hard resets on all devices(more than once),  and if you delete and APP  you can NOT stay connected to re-download the APP;  update times out right after it starts to update and then quits...  It doesn't matter if it is a single update or Update ALL  and it doesn't matter which APP.
you might can get one to update if you like try 20 times.....  this has been going on for at least 4 days now.  Apple PLEASE get this FIXED or provide a work around via support announcement / notes.....  You can't download then either as it times out so this is costing you Apple money.
    Thank you...

  • App Store link broken ?

I am not sure if the link to the App Store community is broken, if so how does it get reported (sorry if another thread on this, i did search first)
If you click on any main categories it takes you into the sub categories, however if you do this for the App Store, it says there are no items, go direct to sub items from main page and there are items there, so the App Store isnt empty

Hey this just happened to me too! Who do we contact to fix this? I'm ticked off, I kept trying and trying not realizing it was charging me.

  • App Store Application broken: can not connect to "iTunes Store"

    Hello,
I've upgraded to 10.6.6 and when I start the App Store application I see the app window with a white background telling me "Please wait a moment." and "Connecting to the iTunes Store." and nothing happens. It tries to connect forever. I also can not sign-in with my account - it sits and loads forever.
Maybe I just need to delete a cache or something. Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks, Marc

I'm having a similar problem on my MacBook. I can connect to the internet in Safari and Mail, but not in software update, Quicken Essentials. I was using 10.6.5, and manually downloaded and installed 10.6.6 hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn't. Now I also cannot connect to the app store. I have also tried repairing the permissions.

  • Maverics - App Store Updates broken - Certificate issue

    Hi All,
My system - MacBook Pro Mid 2012 15"
After update to Maverics from Lion i cannot use App Store Updates, so now I don't now have my system any updates or not.
The issue is in "wrong" certificate as App Store Updates talkes to me (message in Russian):
Сертификат для данного сервера недействителен. Возможно, Вы подключаетесь к серверу, имитирующему «swscan.apple.com», что может подвергнуть риску конфиденциальность Вашей информации.
(it's told me that it cannot confirm «swscan.apple.com» certificate)
I'm using my local ISP and there's no problems with Apple site and other App store things - I'm able to install programs from it.
I've checked that certificate right now - it's signed with Verisign and seems to be Ok, my safari displays it as green.
How can I recieve updates for my Mac ?

    I have the same trouble..
By the way, is this a part of the problem, or it is a normal situation?:

  • App Store completely broken.

    Hi!
This is my first time using these forums, so if I do anything wrong... You know why. ;)
Anyway, for some reason the App Store is really playing up on my iPad. Here's some of the things I'm getting.
    * App icons in search results corrupted
    * App screenshots within app descriptions corrupted
    * "Unable to download application: EXAMPLE APP could not be downloaded at  this time"
    * Unable to update apps, downloads reaching between 20% and 50% and then suddenly stopping.
The last two happen on my mum's iPhone 5 and my iPod 4 (iOS 6.1.5). Why is this happening and how do I fix these issues (if any)? Thanks!

    Hi there numbermaniac,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

  • App Store Search Broken

For some reason, when I try to search something in the app store, It comes up with a blank screen. I know that the apps are available, but they don't come up. I think it might be a problem with ios 6.

  • App Store updates broken

I cannot update certain software. Safari 8.0.4 is an example. The progress bar flashes quickly then nothing else happens. The update never goes though. In the past when this has happened I have downloaded a stand alone installer. Safari 8.0.4 is unavailable.
I've tried removing caches and temp files associated with the store to no avail.
    any ideas?
    ps iPhoto update worked fine

    Thanks!
this dump is the result of pushing the update button.  there was a huge dump after moving to the updates section from the featured section in App Store.
by the way...repairing permissions has never helped this problem either.

  • App Store Mavericks issue - App Store Button Toggles between "Install App" button and "Free Update"

When I go to the app store and click on the "Free Upgrade" Button it switches immediately to the green "Install App" button.  Nothing is downloading in the background.  When "Install App" is clicked on it immediately goes back to "Free Download".
Currently running 10.7.5, 2009 Macbook Air, app store account is Canadian.  Currently located in Grenada.  Friends with other accounts (USA, Canada) have been able to upgrade without issue.

This has been happening for a few weeks now with no solution in sight. It seems to be an issue with the App Store, not the phone. You'll just have to deal with it for now. Use the search function on the right or just look through recent thread titles to see several other discussion on this issue.

  • Server app on Mavericks broken on a Time Machine recovery

Have installed a replacement hard drive in my iMac and recovered from my most recent Time Machine backup.
Everything seems to have gone well except for the Server app, which is now unusable.
On starting Server I get my first error:
“An error occurred while updating your service data”
Click continue, spinning wheel in the dialogue box.
When connecting to server I get a second error; select “This machine”, log in with previous credentials (an admin user):
    “Server requires administrator login
The user is not permitted to administer this server. Make this user an administrator on this server and try again”
The user account I am using IS an administrator on this computer.
I’ve tried a full recovery from the Time Machine backup twice now.
Any suggestions? My thoughts are it could be a Keychain issue, but I'm not sure.
