I'm having awful trouble with scaling. When I get the screen resolution of my tablet is says 1280x800. However if I scale my page to fit using -moz-transform:scale it overflows the page and I need to scale it down by 0.76 to make it fit. Strangely if I use portrait which reports as 800x1024 the page is then too small and I need to scale it up by 1.23 (note its -0.23 and +0.23 for landscape and portrait respectively).
If I avoid scaling by making the page the right size (adjusted by 0.76) then in landscape touch registration is correct with relation to the page. In portrait if I do the same then I can't press the buttons unless I double tap to zoom in.
I can't change the way this app works as it works perfectly well across all Windows and Linux platforms but I have these bizarre things happening on Android.
The main issue is touch not registering correctly. However, when its not working if I hold a button down I get a javascript message pop up offering 'Copy link' and 'Bookmark link' with the correct javascript reference but the function is not called.
Any hints on how to work this out very welcome.

Slightly closer. I've added <META name="viewport" content="width=device-width, height=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0"> to my top level container. This seems to stop firefox from doing an auto-zoom so my page is now properly displayed in both orientations. In landscape all works fine. In portrait however my navigation buttons at the bottom have no touch response unless I double tap to zoom in and then they work. Strangely, the buttons in the content area that are generated on the fly work correctly even after I zoom out again.
Any ideas anyone?

I understand that the display on your iPod nano (7th generation) is not responding to your touch as you would expect. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article and working through the steps within to help resolve this issue.

Follow these steps if your iPod doesn't respond to your input or has a display-related issue.
Screen is unresponsive and displays Apple logo or white screen
Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until you see the Apple logo appear. If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes.
If the Apple logo does not appear, or if the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect it to iTunes and try to restore.
Touch screen does not accept input
Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it, because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
The current application may be unresponsive; try resetting iPod by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons simultaneously for a least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Sync with iTunes and restore the iPod.

A page zooms in so less than 1/4 of the page is visible and nothing I do will zoom back out, command minus doesn't do it, double tap on mouse does not zoom out, and the window will not scroll to show any of the rest of the page. reloading the page does not help. Loading a different page gives me a normal view again.

If it were a tweaked setting, it should happen less randomly. And there should be no settings that could override the zoom setting in unversal Access and the Mouse zoom preferences.
In addition, this only happens in Safari 6, and seems to happen more fredquently on some websites and not on others. That suggests some sort of conflict in the site code with Safari and Apple wireless mouse code. It does not happen in Mail, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other software as far as I can tell.

How do I recover data from a single App using an iTunes backup and put it back on my iPhone?

An app I use (Text Me 2) automatically cleared conversation history. I have an iTunes back-up of it from last year. I tried searching a ton and found articles, but never found a step-by-step article from start to finish describing how I can get only that app's data back on my iPhone without having to restore the entire thing (otherwise I lose all of my last 6 months of content)? All the articles I read stopped after using the iPhone backup extractor to extract, and didn't tell me how to get that back onto my iPhone. I use iTunes on Mac OS Mavericks also.

If you know you are going to do this in advance and have a jailbroken phone, use AppBackup which you can get through cydia. Otherwise, if this need arises after having restored already, you can get the data from an iPhone backup using iPhone Backup Extractor and/or a Time Machine backup (you can google to find the location of the backups, but I think it's in Application Support > Mobile Sync > Backups), and then restore the documents/library folders of the application using iExplorer (which is by the same people who made iPhone Explorer but was changed for legal reasons and now is slightly more user friendly and suited for this purpose. I just did this to restore my Angry Birds scores/data among other things.

I do that with iTools. You can backup each app with its data into an ipa file to the computer, to restore it individually. This allows you to merge apps with its data from different backups.

Transform Scale and Translate Math

I am using images to create my tab backgrounds. The center image is one pixel in width. To stretch it the length of the text on the tab. The problem is I don't understand the math I need to figure out the x value (below its 1-8.5) that will place the image back in the correct position.
Can someone help me with the math I need to calculate its original X position?
Also, how do I find the current width of a Text object? I have seen examples that used text.currentWidth, but it does not appear to be available anymore.

If you ordered it in HD, then you get the SD version as well ( for viewing on ipod/iphone).
You cannot stop it. There is no phone number to call.
You can click "Support" at the top if this page and click the link under "Contact Us" to contact them.
You can look at your purchase history to see what you were billed for, but I would guess that you are seeing the HD and SD version as you should.

Double tap to zoom while reading email in mail app not working

Since i have upgraded to ios 5, when i double tap while reading an email it does not zoom. it just selects the word. I use to be able to do it on ios4.*. Is there a setting that i need to enable or itis no longer possible.

I also have iphone 4 with ios5 but doesn't work for me. IT just blinks or selects the word, does not zoom in to the screen. I wonder if there is a setting which I need to enable.

Wavelet transform scale and time information

Hi there -
I am using the wavelet transform for a non-stationary signal. I am not having trouble getting the coefficients from the transfrom but is there I way I can find the scale/frequency and time information from just the wavelet VI. I see no way I can get at this information. Also, I am pretty certain Labview uses the DWT when computing the transform but does Labview have the option to do the CWT?
The reason is because I want to plot time vs. frequency vs. amplitude and I need all three to do it properly.

Hi, Cameron.
This screenshot shows one DWT and one CWT VI, and you'll notice that the CWT has an output called scale info which contains the time information and the scale (frequency) information. (In addition, LabVIEW has several other wavelet VIs.)

Some app use only channel 1 and 2 of a 6 channel sound card

I use a Native Instruments Audio 6 soundcard, that has 6 channels. In Mac's Audio Midi Setup speaker configuration I configured that channel 5 and 6 have to be used for stereo. This works for quite a lot of apps, like Safari and iTunes, but other apps, like Chrome and XBMC, route their audio through channel 1 & 2. How can this be solved?

As the e-mail did not originate from an Apple e-mail address, I would avoid taking any action as indicated in the message. I would recommend marking the message as spam and reporting it to your e-mail provider if possible.

It seems you are unable to post photos using the Facebook app on your iPad. Have you checked your photo privacy settings at any point? Take a look at the following article which explains the privacy controls, and where you can find them:

Why does my iphone say i have a message but when i click on the app i dont have one and if i get out of the app it still says the messages are there.?

When i go on my phone it says i have 3 new messages but when i click on it i really dont. I turned off and turned my phone on 3 times and it still says i have 3 new messages how do i stop that. Without actually turning on the bager icon thing that pops up on the app.

It sounds like your notification for messages is showing that you have a few mesages but when you go into the app, there are no new messages. I would start by signing out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages. Then close the running apps on the phone:

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone, sign back in, and try again:

My app store shows wrong id and it is greyed out so I cannot change it to install updates

I am trying to install updates from the App store.
However, when I try to sign in, the dialogue box shows an old and wrong email address as my apple id.
Since the email is greyed out, I cannot change it to the correct current one.
I have checked that I am at the right location etc, restarted several times but no success.
Please advise.
