Apple Appstore submission invalid signature/invalid binary TRIED EVERYTHING!!!

Hello there,
I have built my first mobile AIR application (game) and I am trying to submit it to Apple Appstore, but with no luck.
I am uploading my application (passes all Application Loader tests) and some time later I am receiving an e-mail from Apple saying the most-common-and-not-at-all-helpful error message "Invalid signature".
I am a Windows 7 user and I have built my application in Flash Professional CC, using the latest AIR SDK downloaded from here. I am certain that the (distribution) certificates are fine, since I have done the whole procedure from scratch many times and I have made sure I followed each step correctly.
Can anyone provide some insight about this?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!
Nick

Hi anton
I got p12 from mac keychain. I deleted all old keychains and revoked both developer and distribution certs. I am absolutely sure i exported as distribution. I have uploaded many apps without a problem. I don't know why i even have to make new p12 in the first place but since nothing worked, i tried this.
The only difference in this app is normally i work on windows and gmail the zip file to my mac. But this app is around 500 megabytes (app jukebox consisting of 100 songs) , my biggest so far and i usb thumb drive the file. The upload time takes much longer to make matter worst.
I read somewhere to rename ipa to zip in windows, add in thumb drive, extract zip in mac and zip .app file in payload folder. And finally upload this zip file but does not work.
I also made my xml a read only file during publishing to add the missing icon size in code in the xml file. To prevent the xml being over written. I also have never done this way, this is my first. After upload i no longer got the warning of missing these icon sizes but invariably i get the "invalid signature, binary" email. I think i have tried uploading a dozen time already.
Out of ideas.

  • [Apple store submission] Invalid binary error

    Hi,
While submitting to apple store i am getting invalid binary error.
The app builds fine and runs on my iPhone fine. When I try to build
the Distribution app, it builds fine with no errors, but when I look
at my build log, I do have the CodeSign entry, but there is no log
entry for ProcessingProductPackaging part, so the
    embedded.mobileprovision file does not exist.
Not getting what is the problem. Not able to submitt application for apple store.
    Thanks,
    Ganesh Pisal
    Vavni, Inc.

Be sure to follow these steps under Verifying a Successful Distribution Build in the Portal:
_If your project is lacking any of the above files or pointing to the wrong directory, do the following:_
    1. Select the Target and open the Build Settings Inspector. Confirm you are in the Distribution Configuration.
    2. Delete the Code Signing Identity: iPhone Distribution: COMPANYNAME
    3. In the Xcode Build Menu, select Clean all Targets.
    4. Delete any existing build directories in your Xcode project using Finder.
    5. Re-launch Xcode and open your Project.
    6. Re-enter the code-signing identity iPhone Distribution: COMPANYNAME in the Target Build Settings Inspector.
    7. Rebuild your Project.
Strange as these steps may seem, they worked for me last time I had your problem (e.g. why delete all the build directories if you already cleaned all targets? And why re-enter the exact code-signing identity you just deleted?? Just do it!).
If you've never successfully submitted this app before, I would also suggest you redo all of the steps under +Building your Application with Xcode for Distribution+, especially filling in the +Code Signing Provisioning Profile+. On my first try I filled in the wrong line, and it took all night to find the problem.
If none of the abpve helps, take a look at Doug Lerner's recent thread: [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1940036&tstart=105]. I think Doug's embedded.mobileprovision file was present so his problem was different from yours, but you might find some helpful clues in the discussion.
Btw, I've never heard of anyone getting this process right on the first try. It's not meant to be easy. Consider it to be an examination. I.e. to place your app in the store, it's not sufficient to have simply learned how to develop the software.

  • IOS app submission Invalid binary

I'm trying to submit an app to the AppStore and I get "Invalid binary" error from iTunes Connect
" iPhone 5 Optimization Requirement - Your binary is not optimized for iPhone 5. As of May 1, all new iPhone apps and app updates submitted must support the 4-inch display on iPhone 5. All apps must include a launch image with the -568h size modifier immediately following the <basename> portion of the launch image's filename. Launch images must be PNG files and located at the top-level of your bundle, or provided within each .lproj folder if you localize your launch images. Learn more about iPhone 5 support and app launch images by reviewing the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and iOS App Programming Guide.
Invalid Launch Image - Your app contains a launch image with a size modifier that is only supported for apps built with the iOS 6.0 SDK or later. "
    UILaunchImageFile is set to Default
I included a Default.png, [email protected], [email protected], and Default-ipad.png at the correct size.
I also compile using iOS SDK 6.1, and target iOS 3.0
I'm using XCode 3.2.6 because my old Mac Mini can't boot Lion, so I have to stick with Snow Leopard. (and the latest XCode won't work on Snow Leopard)
Why does I get these errors while I included the correct image name and compiling with the latest SDK ?

    You're using ancient technology.
iOS app development doesn't stand still.
Improvements mean greater resource utilization, ergo the need for more up to date hardware/software.
Nobody is forcing you to do anything.
You make an economic comparison of upgrading or not and then decide if it's worth it.

  • Macbook pro stuck on grey apple logo screen - HELP! I've tried everything

I've looked through the forum for help and I think I've tried everything short of erasing and reinstalling mac os x -
    - I've done an fsck (got "invalid volume count", "invalid node structure", "volume check failed" errors)
    - booted from install disk and tried to verify disk (same errors as above)
    - tried to "archive and install" mac os but got error saying "the destination disk must be erased for installation"
I tried T-starting my laptop connected to another mac (a powerbook g4) to try to backup my files before erasing and reinstalling mac os - but the mbp hard drive won't mount on the powerbook.
My latest idea is to try installing mac os x onto an external drive - and then booting my macbook pro from the external drive... and see if I get anywhere. my only concern is, I have to make SURE the option saying "Install Mac OS X - Installs Mac OS X for the first time" does NOT delete the contents of the external drive (it is a client's and cannot be erased!). I know there is also the option that says "Erase and Install" -- but I just want to make sure the first option will NOT delete the contents of an external drive.
Anyone know for sure? Or have any other suggestions? I have some work on my macbook pro that I cannot lose. Unfortunately I have not been backing things up... big mistake that I will not repeat.
    Thanks in advance.

DiskWarrior is the answer, as sig has suggested. It can sort out directory damage that is well beyond Disk Utility's repair capabilities. If you already had a bootable external hard drive of your own, I'd urge you to buy and download DiskWarrior and install it on the bootable external drive, then run it from there to rebuild the directory on your internal drive. I have to say that using a client's hard drive to solve your own problem would be appalling and unconscionable, and I hope you'll forget that idea.
If you can't see your way to buying an external hard drive along with DiskWarrior, you'll have to buy DW on a bootable disc, or order one online and wait for it to arrive.
If you can buy an external hard drive of your own in addition to DiskWarrior — and I can't think of any better use for a credit card, if cash is short — then you'll be able to boot your MBP to a Leopard installer disc, install Leopard on the new external drive, and then buy DiskWarrior as a download (rather than on a disc) and use it as I described above. After sorting out the internal drive with DW, clone the internal to the external drive with SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner, and there's your backup from now on.
I should add that although Western Digital external hard drives seem to be available cheaply everywhere, I strongly recommend against buying one. Seagate drives are also widely available, and would be a better choice.

  • My iPod is stuck on the Apple sign and I believe i've tried EVERYTHING!

Right, I think my battery died the other day, I put it on charge when I got home. And it took me a while to realise it hadn't gone to the original main screen. At first I thought it might just need resetting so I tried that and it just went back onto the Apple sign.
I got kinda worried, persistantly trying to reset, obviously wasn't making a difference.
So I let the battery drain, after charging it back up, still no difference.
Then after the Apple sign flashing a few times I noticed the "Use iTunes to restore" sign, I then linked my iPod up with the computer, used all the steps from the website to restore, then it just started going round in circles, and after restoring it once it kept telling me I needed to do it again and again.
Then I browsed the website for a while and came across the 'Disc mode' for when you can't get rid of the Apple sign. So I followed those steps for it and I thought I was getting somewhere, it seemed to wipe all my songs, it told me my iPod was restored and stuff.
Then, I took out the cable, resetted it again, and it still wasn't working.
The Apple sign still constantly just flashes.
And yes, i've tried the common sense things, restarting my computer, changing the form thing via control panel etc.
Anything else I can do that I haven't tried?
Or do you think it's damaged?
I really need answers fast guys!
    Would be much appreciated, thanks.
    x

Seems that the OS is there (with your iPod) but just fails to boot it up completely. Have you tried to do a Restore with another computer? Prefer to put it into disk mode before doing the restore.

  • Apple Support Not Installing on Computer, Ive tried everything to my knowlegde, it keeps rolling back changes. Ive completely deleted itunes, bonjour, and even the folders in my C://Program (86x) folders in regular program folders. Even ran ccleaner

Any other methods? Like I said Ive tried all that i can. Even removed some windows updates, programs, and still not working. sometimes itunes wont install but thats got to do with my msi installer. Ive done the "run msiexec /unreg then msiexec /regserve" then close explorer.exe and reopen as administrative to install. Itunes would install but when I plug up phone nothing. Went to device manager it doesnt even show Unknown device but I still reinstalled Device manager with the system command. even tried to install older versions of itunes but for some reason I cant install versions lower than 10. Rebooted computer and device with fresh install and nothing. At one point it even showed "Trust Computer" but didnt do anything. I have an Iphone 4S that even stop working. So now I can't use that either. Any Idea whats going on ANY one?

Are you using a Windows machine? We are mostly Mac users here - there is a forum for Windows software on Macs, so you could try that forum or iTunes for Windows forum which might be your best bet:

  • HELP. I've tried everything! iTunes won't launch!

So i've installed and re-installed the latest version of iTunes, and still, i can't open it. I used to have iTunes 4, which i was completely happy with, so i never upgraded it. Then i got a 2nd gen iPod Nano, which is only compatible with iTunes 7, so i had no choice but to upgrade. I've tried clicking the iTunes desktop icon a million times, i've tried "Start", "Run", "iTunes", and i've gone into the C: Drive and gone into where iTunes was originally located, to click that, and still, nothing happens. I just see an hourglass for a few seconds, but then it disappears, and nothing happens at all. I've looked all through the technical support pages from Apple, and still, nothing. I've tried everything they've recomended, and none of it has opened iTunes 7 for me. Luckily, i came across my original "Install iTunes" installer for iTunes 4, so i deleted iTunes 7 and reinstalled iTunes 4, to see if i could open that. I had no trouble with opening iTunes 4, so i thought i could reinstall 7 and see if it worked. So, i deleted iTunes 4, and tried to reinstall iTunes 7 again. It still won't launch. I have all of my music backed up, so i'm not worried about losing any of the files or anything like that. I just want to know how to get iTunes to launch.

  • "Invalid Binary" error on app. Apple's reason is "Missing 64-bit support" due to changes from Feb 1st 2015

    Hello
Can anyone help me with an "Invalid Binary" error on my app.
    Apple's response is:
    Dear developer,
We have discovered one or more issues with your recent submission for "DPS Notes". To process your submission, the following issues must be corrected:
Missing 64-bit support - Beginning on February 1, 2015 new iOS apps submitted to the App Store must include 64-bit support and be built with the iOS 8 SDK. Beginning June 1, 2015 app updates will also need to follow the same requirements. To enable 64-bit in your project, we recommend using the default Xcode build setting of “Standard architectures” to build a single binary with both 32-bit and 64-bit code.
Once these issues have been corrected, use Xcode or Application Loader to upload a new binary to iTunes Connect. Choose the new binary on the app’s Details page in My Apps on iTunes Connect, and click Submit for Review.
    Regards,
    The App Store team
Can someone from the Adobe DPS team let me know how I can recreate the .ipa file so that it will meet Apple's requirements.
They seem to have moved the goalposts since I created the original .ipa file in December. I thought I'd submitted it, just went back through iTunes Connect to check info as I hadn't heard anything from them, then hit this brick wall. Any help offered would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rebecca

    Hi
I've Updated App Builder, gone back to the DPS App Builder portal, regenerated new zip and ipa files and downloaded them.
I clicked the Application Loader 3.0 link, downloaded the latest Appication Version, clicked on the "Deliver your App" button, and submitted the newly built App that was built using 32.4.2 version. (All the app icons were listed as "stored on server" so I presume they are all ok). The .zip file appeared to 'deliver' to Apple successfully. I've tried to resubmit it but get ta "Redundant Binary Upload. There already exists a binary upload with build version..." error message, so presume the orginal binary upload was successful. I have no idea how I can get this app from the "prepare for submission", to "in review". The last time I thought I'd submitted this app I got as far as the "waiting for review" status, and no further.
At the moment I don't have a"+" button in the Build section - as mentioned on page 66 of Adobe's Step_by_step_guide_to_dps_se.pdf.
So I can't add the new .zip file to the iTunes Connect > My Apps portal in the Build section of the Versions tab.
I have put a support email into Apple, but don't expect a reply any day soon.
The problem with starting all the way back through the App wizard is that I really want to use all the same App Name, Bundle ID, and details etc.
Do you mean, going back to the Folio Producer Panel, and building a whole new App?
This process certainly isn't for the faint-hearted!
    HELP!

  • Why do I get an "invalid signature" message when trying to download the latest version of iTunes?

Why do I get an "invalid signature" message when trying to download the latest version of iTunes?  Apple Support is the lamest excuse for support I have EVER seen.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

I devloped an app using conduit mobile and when I submit it to the store itunes connect says that I have an invalid binary. I tryed submiting the app a few more times but still said that I have an invalid binary. Do you have have any ideas why?

    Hi Everyone,
I am having the same problems with apps I created from Conduit.
Initally, invalid Binary was my only problem. I did everything stated in the App Distribution Guide, but I cannot seem to figure out what the problem is.
I read somewhere that using Xcode would help. Is this true?
I hope you could help me with this. Attached is the screenshot I get everytime I upload.

I have tried many times to upload app to app store after validate it.
No matter I use Organizer of Xcode or Application Loader,
the results are the same "Invalid Binary".
Here are the response of itune connect.
    Dear developer,
We have discovered one or more issues with your recent delivery for "六合彩由你中". To process your delivery, the following issues must be corrected:
Invalid Code Signing Entitlements - Your application bundle's signature contains code signing entitlements that are not supported. Please check your Xcode project's code signing entitlements configuration, and remove any unneeded entitlements.
Specifically, key "com.apple.developer.default-data-protection" is not supported.
Invalid Code Signing Entitlements - Your application bundle's signature contains code signing entitlements that are not supported. Please check your Xcode project's code signing entitlements configuration, and remove any unneeded entitlements.
Specifically, key "com.apple.developer.pass-type-identifiers" is not supported.
Once these issues have been corrected, go to the Version Details page and click "Ready to Upload Binary." Continue through the submission process until the app status is "Waiting for Upload." You can then deliver the corrected binary.
    Regards,
    The App Store team
I don't know how to solve it by the above instruction.
Would any expert help me with screenshots?

Delete the option of iCloud and revoke the certificate, the problem is solved then.
However, I am Waiting for Review since 5th August.
I don't know how long will the process take.

  • Invalid Binary (iTunesConnect) - a sealed resource is missing or invalid

    Hi there,
I'm trying to figure out the issue we're having with one of our app store submissions; the submission goes up fine (successfully uploads from Application Loader) - but is then rejected after ("Recieved Upload") in iTunesConnect with the error "Invalid Binary"; we then get an email with:
Invalid Signature - the main app bundle <appname> at path <appname>.app      is signed but the signature is invalid.     The following error(s) were reported from codesign:
a sealed resource is missing or invalid In architecture: i386
As far as we can tell, the signature looks to be correctly applied; we're using:
    codesign -vvv -f -s '3rd Party Mac Developer Application: <Our Company>' --entitlements "<appname>.entitlements" <appname>.app
    To sign the bundle, and
    productbuild --component "<appname>.app" "/Applications" --sign "3rd Party Mac Developer Installer: <Our Company>" <appname>package.pkg
Does anyone have any clues on how and where to start debugging this issue? Already spent 12 hours on the problem - would rather not waste another 12.
    Thanks!

So, as a follow up to this - days of annoyance later. Here's how I got it fixed; hopefully this will be of use to someone else who encounters this. Unity3D was adding a couple of hidden files to the directory when building - I suspect this is because we're building the Mac binaries under Windows, but regardless of the cause; it has placed a couple of files named, e.g. '._unity default resources' inside the .app. Now; –
It appears codesign ignores those when verifying, but not when signing. packagebuild ignores them when building. So; the app verifies fine, and the package builds fine -- but if you install the package, then try verify where you just installed to, you'll get the "a sealed resource is missing or invalid" which iTunesConnect rejects the binary with. Add a --verbose and it'll point you to what files are misbehaving.
Now to go light people on fire...

  • Invalid binary: Mac App Store

    Hello all,
I try to submit an application to the Mac App Store, I can get it pass the validation stage within xcode, but I keep getting "invalid binary" on my Itunes connect page... It seems not related to certificate error.
Here is the error displayed in my received email from Apple:
Files Only Readable By The Root User - The installer package includes files that are only readable by the root user. This will prevent verification of the application's code signature when your app is run. Ensure that non-root users can read the files in your app.
I tried to open the api file and the archive one, and set all the directory and their content to "read / write" permission using the finder, but it didn't work.
    Cheers...

I reply myself since I could manage to submit the application. I just started a new empty project and draged and droped the previous files contained in the older project, which seems to have been created with an older version of Xcode, i'm currently using the 4.0.2. Everything worked well... And I still don't understand why there was a problem.
Beware of the old xcode project files...
