Apple Authorised Service Provider in West Africa

Please advise on any Apple Authorised Service Provider in West Africa, preferably Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo,, Benin and Nigeria.
The more I get used to Apple and the more I became dependant on the Apple computers and you can imagine how frustrating it can be to have to bring a computer all the way from either the States or France and not be able to sort out maintenance problem.

how do i become a apple Authorised service provider?

Basically you don't at this time. The site James linked to above says that Apple is not accepting applications for service provider at this time.
Note that being an Apple service provider, even if they were accepting new applications, would not qualify you to repair iPhones or other iOS devices. Apple does not presently certify any independent service providers, even ones they already have under contract, to do actual repairs on such devices. I mention this just since you were discussing repair of an iPhone in another thread.

  • Apple Authorised Service Provider refusing to do warranty work - what to do

    Hi all,
I have a 1st Gen 1.8 20" that has died with a power issue (big time but intermittent).
It fits within the serial number range published for Warranty Extension work (replace midplane board I gather...?).
I have followed the advice given in the support section and taken it to my Authorised Repair Centre a week ago and made it clear why.
I received a call yesterday saying they have had it on test and it hasn't failed so it isn't covered, do I want to pay for a replacement main board?!!!!
My suggestion was that they check my serial on the Apple site and they will see it is covered for warranty work. Their reply was that they have 'sent..' my serial to Apple and Apple say it isn't covered for the Warranty Extension work.
Well it is a dead iMac that fits the criteria. What the heck can I do?
Any advice more than welcome, I feel quite powerless.
    Cheers
    iMac G5 1.8 - PB 12" 1.5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   SE30, IIsi

First, I'd advise you to leave the whole 'badcaps.com' issue aside. Unless you have visually identified such a problem (and they are dead simple to spot visually, more often than not), you're just leaving yourself open for the obvious "There's not one there..." reply, to which you'll lack any comeback.
I'd second the recommendation about revisiting the issue with your local service department first, and I would personally do that before trying to contact Apple at all. If you have any sort of a documentation showing when and how you've suffered failures, even if it's just notes that you've made or emails about the problems that you've sent, anything at all .... carry them in with you. Try to talk with someone other than whomever you dealt with the first time; you have enough problems going on without having to also deal with convincing someone to change his mind or admit an error.
That presupposes that there was one. First you have to make sure of that, i.e., are you sure that they are even allowed to simply take your word, absent any evidence or any testing results to confirm it, that some condition exists? If they aren't so allowed, then it just doesn't seem worthwhile to continue at that level.
As for Apple? My own choice would be a phone call to AppleCare. I'd expect to be charged the standard fee for out-of-warranty telephone support, but would also expect that — if this were subsequently identified as a covered exception, and verified as a covered hardware fault — that that fee would be refunded. I'd want a tracking number to be assigned (would be anyway) and, at the end of the process, would expect to come out of it with an RMA or whatever the Apple equivalent to that is; this would essentially take the AASP out of the decision-making loop, given that he was still going to be involved at all.

  • If I buy a Mac and iPad online, will I still be able to claim warranty at an Apple Authorized Service Provider?

If I buy a Mac and iPad online, will I still be able to claim warranty at an Apple Authorized Service Provider?
I am going to buy a Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display and iPad from www.topbuy.com.au . It's a legit website, but they say the items have topbuy warranties, not apple ones. They say I have to send off my faulty device to them, and they will fix it, but I don't want to do that. I just want to walk into an Apple store, tell them the problem and have a happy ending, like what's supposed to happen. Will I be able to do this?
    Thanks

Apple warranty is good at any Apple service provider, AASP or store.
But you seem to be reaching far to defend that "it's a legit website", especially when they seem to be directing you from seeking certified Apple service.
As the saying goes: If it looks like a duck, and it sound like a duck, it's quackers to bypass an Apple store or Apple online to save a few $$.  Well, something like that.

  • Is servicing at an Apple Authorised Service Providers free?

My iPod broke. I have warranty and I'm pretty sure that this kind of damage is covered by it. If I go to an Apple Authorised Service Providers, would they recognise that I have that warranty or do I have to go to an actual Apple Store?

Btw I don't get why Apple are outsourcing their services to these third-party "Premium Resellers" who only sell Apple products anyway. Why not just open up more Apple Stores?

  • Should an Apple Authorized Service Provider ask for my personal login password?

I sent my Macbook Pro to an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) because the computer wasn't turning on. While I was giving my information they asked for my login password in order to be able to install some diagnostic software. I didn't want to gave my personal password because with that you can get passwords that are stored in Keychain.
They say that they needed so I ended up trusting them, but does Apple allow  AASP to ask for personal passwords?

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

  • Be Careful With Apple Authorised Services in Russia

    Dear Society,
I have bad experience with contacting one of authorised services which is published in Apple web site. It is a company called "Service.OK" and situated in Zelenograd in particular. My MacBook Air 2,5 years old got to have a problem with a screen after few drops of wine leak inside from the vent area where black panel is situated and served for monitor and keyboard panels junction. I have not expected the problem with the laptop because the glass of wine feltdown far away from the place it is situated however it was lying upside down and closed. So drops still most probably go inside. After certain period of time I switched it on and started working. Suddenly the screen goes blue and later fade away. Next day I brougt it to the address where this "Service.OK" is situated for diagnosis.
In a week I got a call from the service where they offered to repair for about 7500 RUR in cleaning the oxidation that was caused by the wine. I gave my permit for this operation. After a week time I got a new call from the service and they informed me that they were unsuccsesful with reparing it and my laptop requires to change the whole screen panel. The price of it was 23000 RUR. This time I was angree that this company is not able to do right diagnosis and I do not know what to expect later even if changing the screen panel will be unsufficient for them. I asked them to stop any actions and return the laptop back to me. I promise to compensate thier effort for diagnosis though. The service said that I can pick up it after receiving sms notification.
13 days left and I got this sms notification. I was back from the business trip and came there in 5 days. And (what a surprise!!!) I got another display panel assembled to the keybord panel with my serial number. I am 100% sure that it is not mine from the scratches I had on the top/screen panel. I rejected to take it and called to
    (A) Service.OK contact number claiming that and
    (B) Apple support contact number desribing the problem.
    (A) Service.OK informed me that my laptop was not delivered to them. The company which is operating on the address where Service.OK is shown in Apple web-site is no longer their representative point. It is another company as far as I unvestigated. However I got
    (1) a receipt with Service.OK web address reference,
    (2) Service.OK web site contained an information about my laptop being received and reviewed and
    (3) Service.OK point shown on their web site is the same where I gave my laptop.
    (B) Apple support specialist Natalia was responsible to communicate with me about my claim. She promised to report about this problem to higher department responsible for servises authorisation in Apple. However I was really dissapointed that no actions toward Service.OK was made by Apple. It is still on the authorised services list on the same address where I gave my laptop. She can only sorry to me because Apple has no legal company in Russia to handle this situation and thier company is just for providing support.
So I have a situation that neither Apple nor Service.OK are not willing to take responsibility that my laptop does not received qualified diagnosis under Apple authorisation and additionally its parts were changed while this diagnosis.
I am now consulting with lawer in order to investigate opportunity to claim about this problem to either Service.OK or company that issued an official receipt (or even propably to Apple) in the court.
Thus I would like to underline following statements:
    - Be carefull with authorised service centers in Russia. Apple seems to do not care about what is going on there.
    - Never deal with point in Zelenograd and be careful with other Service.OK points.
    - Know your laptop serial numbers before giving it to diagnosis otherwise it is unable to prove own position.
I will be thankful if anybody from society had such problem in the past and may give any advice. Any opinions are welcome.
    Thanks
    Dimitri

  • I just got a replacement for my iPhone 4S, ever since i could be sitting in the same spot and go from 5 bars w/ 4G to 1 bar then it will say searching..then shortly after it will return back to 5 bars. Apple or service provider?

I just went to the Apple store not three days ago to get a replacement. They gave me a replacement then moved on to the next customer. Ever since I have gotten home my service has been going in and out. I can have my phone in the same place and it can say that i have 5 bars with 4G, then not two seconds later it will go to 1 bar, after that it will say Searching..for a little over two minutes. Then it will go back to saying that i have 5 bars with 4G, and the cycle will continue. I am not sure whether this is an Apple problem or if it is my service provider. I have talked to several others who have the same service provider and they say that they are not experiencing any problems!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore.  Has any of this been tried?
Unless and until is has been, Apple will not do anything, beyond the basic troubleshooting listed above.

  • An authorised service provider does not want to repair based on applecare+

I have an iPad 3, and its screen is broken,, I took it to an authorized apple service provider in Dubai (UAE) to fix it. I have applecare+ that is valid till 2014 and never used before. However, this service provider does not agree on repairing or replacing my ipad unless I pay some money, in other words they do not agree admit apple care+ coverage ?!!
Please whom should I contact and What should I do to fix my iPad ?

    Thanks for your reply ..
    coutting from legal docu.:
"Hardware Service and ADH Coverage Area. Apple may restrict hardware service and ADH coverage
to the Covered iPad’s original Country of Purchase." .. It is written as 'may restrict' which means it is normally not restricted ..
so how would I know if it is restricted or not ? .. and by the way when I bought the iPad the salesman told me it is an internationl coverage withen authorized service providers.

  • Broken hard returned to apple by service provider when asked not too because I wanted the opportunity to recover data

I took my mac into a service provider in turkey with a broken hard drive. I asked the not to return the hard drive right away in order for me to recover the data. They dis not listen and returned it. It has only been posted a day ago is there anything i can do to get it back?
    Thanks in advance,
    Zara

That's what the Apple Store and resellers do: they keep your hard drive but it's not used. If you didn't recover anything from the hard drive, ask them to return your hard drive because you asked them to do it before being your hard drive replaced. If they refuse, contact with Apple > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
Anyway, you should have done this before taking it

  • Is having the original receipt or invoice obligatory to have Apple authorised service?

    Hello!
Apple Authorised technical service in Krasnoyarsk, Russia refuses to accept my MacBook Air 11-inch guarantee claim arguing I must have original invoice or receipt to to have guarantee service.
I dont have the original receipt, but apple.com clearly prooves that my guarantee is valid until 29 May 2013!!
Is the Apple Guarantee for MacBook is WorldWide? What should I do to make them accept my claim?

Official  Apple stores ir Russia? No.
    Official service and resellers only.
But I bought my MacBook in US. So a man from official Apple service (This shop is listed on apple.com as official repair service) demands my receipt from Apple Store. But I bought my device on Amazon, not in Apple Store.
Is my device covered by worldwide guarantee?

So The Serial Number W80201QNATN is from your original invoice when you first bought the MBP. The same serial number is on the body of the MBP. The same serial number shows up in System Profiler when you start the MBP.
That all matches with the information given from one of the links I posted earlier. It fits your MBP perfectly:
    Serial number: W80201QNATN
Name: MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 13 inch)
    Group1: MacBook
    Group2: Pro
