As I said and wjosten said, you cannot get AppleCare in India for an iPhone sold in the US.  You cannot get any service suppot on that iPhone in India.  The support is only available in the US on an iPhone sold in the US.  And you will have to return to the US to get that support or send it to someone in the US to deal with Apple.
Apple is quite clear about the warranty support on iPhones and iPads: they are not covered by universal warranties.

  • Apple Care plan for MBP

Does anyone know why the Apple care plan for MBP is more expensive than all the other Apple care plans? Even the Mac Pro has a cheaper plan. It doesn't make sense to me.

It's obvious to me. My Mac Pro sits in one place, undisturbed. It has a generous, efficient cooling system. It's easy to service.
My MacBook Pro is carried around town. It's jostled back and forth in my bag as I walk, or as my car goes over bumps. I'm always putting it on tables, creating a slight impact each time. It goes through a lot more power/temperature cycles as it sleeps and wakes. The components are smaller, tightly packed, more expensive to disassemble and service. A laptop goes through a lot more stress and trauma than a desktop, so a laptop is much more prone to failure.

  • Life after Apple Care

Well, my Apple Care on my June 2009 MBP is finally due to expire in a few weeks. Is there anything I should take advantage of before it expires, or anything I should know about maintaining my computer later?
I don't have any particular symptoms, except that I still have the original 2GB of memory and so I never upgraded past OS 10.6.8.  This hasn't been a problem for me, as I'm using the laptop less and less as I use the iPad for most routine stuff. So I see no need to upgrade the MBP unless there's a good reason to. Any info on the continuing functionality of Snow Leopard?
If/when I do decide to upgrade, is installing memory oneself recommended for someone who's never opened a laptop before? Is it generally safer to have the experts do it, and should I do it now under Apple Care?

I really hoped that this machine could last longer than 3 years,
Depending upon use, if near daily and moving it around, dusty environments, cat hair, not using external devices like keyboards and mice, then yes, it can go in 3 years.
More like 5 years if used less and in a pristine manner, except Apple puts the screws to the machine with a OS X upgrade that can hobble it or break it.
Can you explain more about why Firefox?
It's a free third party web browser from  Mozilla and it gets updates for OS X 10.6, unlike Apple who has abandoned Safari for 10.6 users.
It's fast, it gets security updates (sometimes in hours) and it's the most customizable and powerful browser.

Firefox is the "people's" browser, packing more add-ons, personas, themes than any other browser.

Don't like ads? Or popups or anything else? There is likely a addon that will take care of it.
I use Firefox because I'm hard of seeing, so I've customized it so I can see everything nice and clear, Safari is very hard on the eyes as it's so tiny and black on gray.

  • Lost Apple Care Protection Plan

hello, I just purchased my macbook pro just a couple of weeks ago and recently received my apple care protection plan just a couple of days ago. In the midst of packing for college, I have lost all the information contained in the plan package mailed to me. I was wondering if Apple can send me another one. If so, how can I obtain another package of the protection plan containing the CD and other valuable information?
    Thank you in advance,

if you call them and explain your situation, i'm sure they'll send you another one. however, even without your physical applecare package, apple already has a record of your applecare plan. the applecare number is 1-800-275-2273.
also, goto the apple support site and on the bottom righthand side, you can enter your macbook serial number and it will tell you how many days you are covered under applecare.
so in conclusion, you really don't need the physical proof of the applecare since they already have a record of it.

  • How to Tranfer the care pack from a stolen ipad

Ine of our users has had their ipad stolen. Can anyone adivise on how i transfer the care pack agreement from the stolem ipad to a new on?

Sorry, but AppleCare cannot be transferred. You can cancel the plan and get at least a partial refund of the plan price, though, and then purchase a new plan for the new iPad. Instructions for cancelling the plan on the stolen unit can be found in the AppleCare terms and conditions:
    http://www.apple.com/legal/applecare/appforipad.html

  • Does the apple care  for iphone 3gs cover water damage?

does the apple care + for iphone 3gs cover water damage?

No.  Terms of the warranty call that "abuse".
    You can hope, and try:
Turn it off, leave it off
Put it in a pile of "dessicant packs" (shipping packs found in hard disk boxes), possibly in a plastic bag (NOT rice -- that has rice-dust which gets into the unit)
Maybe try turning it on again in about 4-5 days
But this is really a desperation move, and I would not do it myself (although others say they have tried it).
Most likely you are paying for either a repair or a new unit.

  • I shattered my phone and does not turn on I have apple care. How much would it be to replace it?

I have an iphone 4s and I dropped it down some steps and its completely shattered and does not turn on. I have apple care. Does apple care last for 2 years? I replaced it once before with no charge. Would I be charged this time? Please help.

You have AppleCare or AppleCare+. If you have regular AppleCare, accidental damage is not covered. It will cost you $199 for a replacement. If you have AppleCare+, and you're within 2 years of buying the original phone, then you can have it replace for (I believe) $49. That was the quoted replacement price when AppleCare+ first started being sold.

  • My Display Only Works Part of the Time and Apple Care Won't Help Me (Long)

I bought my computer at a discounted price because it was a restocked item, but was it really worth it? I'm beginning to think not. I saw that it had one stuck pixel, but saving that much money on such an expensive computer, the pixel hardly seemed like a travesty. However, I think I've discovered the real reason why the last owner gave up such a seemingly exceptional piece of hardware...
After about a month of flawless operation my "new" computer started to act a little strangely. It wouldn't always go to sleep when it was scheduled, the screen saver wouldn't always come on by itself...things that I though a simple PRAM reset, SMC reset, or disk permission repair would fix. After countless attempts at all three "fixes" I was still having problems...a few days after these problems started occuring something even more drastic happened: My computer would turn on (the little light would come on, I'd hear the fans start running and the start up tone) but the screen would remain black. I tried several PRAM and SMC resets as suggested on this forum, but the screen continued to come up black for about an hour. That's when I called Apple.
The Apple Care specialist on the phone asked me for the serial in which I had to lift the computer up to get (since I obviously couldn't read it off the screen). She suggested an SMC reset which, I explained to her, I had tried already but it hadn't worked, however, I was willing to give it another shot. Oddly (and rather annoyingly) enough it worked, and for a short amount of time I was happy...until it happened again...another call to Apple...and again...and about 3 or 4 calls to Apple Care later, they suggested that I go in to an Apple Store to have it looked at.
The Apple Specialist made an appointment with me to meet with an Apple Genius the next day at 4:30PM at a store about a mile away from my house. The next day I lugged my 24" iMac through the local mall (I'm female, 5'2", and I weigh about 108 so it wasn't too easy of a feat) to discover the apple store was CLOSED for the next few days so that they could "make the store better." I called Apple Care on my cell phone right there in the mall and asked them what was going on. Didn't they know that this Apple Store was closed? The man I was talking to said that they knew and he wasn't sure how the person I had talked to just the day before had signed me up for an appointment when he hadn't even asked for my e-mail address. It was most bizarre. This man made an appointment with me for later that same day at an Apple Store about 45 minutes away from where I live. I didn't want to go, but I'm a college student and I was a desperate for my computer to work again.
Shaking around in that box must have brought it out of it's strange seized-up state because as I brought it out for the Mac Genius to look at it turned on for him no problem. Quite a frustrating problem because it's so spontainious that it keeps making me look like either a liar or a fool. He said he'd run an 8-hour diagnostic check on it and I could pick it up the next day. So the next day I waited for their call but I got none. I called them and they said that they were still running tests and it'd be ready the next day. The day after, about an hour and a half before I had to go to work, they called me and told me my computer was ready. They said they had ran a 24-hour diagnostic and everything was working fine but they said they'd run more tests if I wanted them to. I'm a full-time college student and I need my computer for just about all of my classes, so I declined more tests and told them I'd pick it up right away. I dashed over there to pick it up and dashed back as fast as I could (and I even made it to work on time...but just barely). Later that night I found that they had accidentally left their diagnostics CD in my computer (I called them about it and they said that would like it if I would bring it back...I still haven't mailed it).
All was fine and good (well, just okay...it still had problems with its sleeping and screen-savering) with my computer until yesterday. I got that black screen again upon start up....but this time my "fixes" worked after a few tries. There were no more problems for the rest of yesterday.
However, today I came home from school and go to start up my computer and the screen turned on and I saw the little mac symbol and that little circle of bars...but then it froze. I held in the little button to force a shutdown and when I started it back up again I was greeted by my good old friend, Mr. Black Screen. Just wonderful. I tried my "fixes" but today I didn't get lucky. So while I was holding in the button to start up my computer (again) and give it another go, I held it longer than I was supposed to and the little on light began flickering. Then I heard this unpleasant tone that lasted a few seconds before stopping and treating me to the startup sound. This time the screen turned on. Yay! I go to call Apple to find out what I had just done, and I find out that my 90 days are up and unless I wanted to pay $50 for them to be puzzled by my issue once more or give them $300 for not quite 3 more years of service, I'd have to lug my computer to an Apple Store or post here to get help. Thanks a lot Apple Care.
My "new" computer cost me almost $3,000. It should work the way it's supposed to. I need it to last me no less than 6 more years, but with the problems I've had with it in the first 3 months (which seem only to be getting worse and more frequent), I don't know if I'm expecting WAY too much out of it. I've been a loyal Apple user for 13 years and out of the 5 computers I've had in that time I've never had so many problems (actually I've never had any problems, at least nothing really serious; I'd never even called Apple Care before this). I'm a fairly experienced user (I'm not a Mac Genius or anything, but I know the ropes) and I am sure this is not normal behavior for an Apple computer (or any computer of that matter).
I'm so frusterated I'm not sure what to do. What's wrong with my computer? How can I get Apple to help me? How can I get Apple to even believe me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you so much for reading my very long (and rather dramatic) story.

Thanks for reading and thanks for the advice. Perhaps I'll ask them about it next time this problem occurs, although carrying the thing through a mall that is only about a mile away is the least of my worries. I'll do if it is both free (I don't make enough at my job to pay for such a service) and relatively speedy, although I'd hate for them to come over and for the computer to work properly (as bad as that sounds). It'd be a wasted trip and nothing would get fixed.
I'm contemplating videotaping myself performing my "fixes" on it the next time I have this problem.

  • I could not get my iPhone 5 which purchased in Australia repaired by apple in the US. Guys from apple retail store verified a replacement for me and asked to call apple care. However, apple care said they cannot get it fixed nor repaired.

My iPhone 5 got some defects and I went to a apple reatil store yesterday. The guy from the genius bar told me that he verified a replacement for me. And I need to call 1-800-apple care to finish that process. I called apple care and one of the senior supervisors told me that I have to send it back to Australia (where I bought this iPhone) to get it repaired. Turns out I could not solve the problem after a apple store vist and several calls. I just want to know if there any way to solve this. This iPhone is a factory unlocked one that purchased in an apple retail store in Melbourne at the day it was first released. And my experience today is not what I can tell as fair. I will be really appreciate for any helps and advices. Thanks.

Warranty on iPhone is not international, but valid only in country of
original sale. Since you purchased the iPhone in Australia, your warranty
is valid only in Australia. You must either personally return the iPhone
to Australia for evaluation and possible replacement or sent it to someone
in Australia to take into Apple for the evaluation. Apple will not accept
international shipments for repair nor will Apple ship out of the country
    after replacement.
Sorry to be the bearer of this news, but it is the way iPhone warranty and
    replacement has always worked.

  • I have 2 iphoto libraries but one is lost, missing, cannot seem to find it... tried an apple care person - they were no help - we use Time Machine for external backup... but cannot find my older iPhoto library! I desperately need some help!

I have recently had something really odd happen within iphoto.  My photos from May-Oct 2013 appeared to be missing from my primary Iphoto library.
last night I was trying to find any additional Iphoto libraries on my Imac... I could not find them... but then somehow the May-Oct 2013 library showed up and now I cannot find the "current" primary Iphoto library.   I sought help from apple care today but no solutoin from them after 2 hours trying.  I have timemachine that backs up my Imac each day to an external hard drive.   When I open Iphoto while holding down the "option" key - it lets me choose which Iphoto library... but only (1) library comes up...  I can't figure out what happened - but it seems that I must have more than one Iphoto library because yesterday I was able to see all my photos except the "gap in dates" from May-Oct 2013.  Today - I can only open a Library called Iphoto2014... and it contains the photos from the gap in dates.  I can't "see" any other options to open photos... but just yesterday there appeared to be a different library available.
Any advice or steps i should take to locate my missing photos - would be soooooo much appreciated.

  • Ok so I so my IPod Touch has the same problem as the one before. The headphone jack. The i hear prefectly on the right but not the left. This my second time. What do I do to fix it? I do have the Apple Care!

I tried all my head phones and its the left side. This happened to me before, and I got a new one. I need help what I do? How do I fix this problem. If they do give me a new one do I have to buy the Apple Care again. Can they fix it. Wht am I doing wrong? Am i Putting the headphone in my ipod wrong. What is it? Ughh!!! This is annoying!!!!!

Well if the same problem happens to all your ipods, it makes me suspect that there is something wrong with your headphones, as it would be a strange coincidence that all the ipods have the same problem.
Unless the ipods have the same problem with different headphones!

  • My ipod 4 has apple care for 1 year i just got it can i get a new one because it broke and i pay for the apple care can i get a newe one

my ipod 4g has the apple care for 1 year can you get a new one for it because something happen to it the mirrer broke yes or no

AIf the iPod broke because of a defect then yes, Apple will replace the iPod if it is within the warranty period.  A broken/cracked screen is not covered.  However, sometimes if you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store they will exchange your iPod at no cost if it has a broken/cracked screen.

  • Can apple replace my stolen iphone? i bought apple care but not insurance from cspire.

its just not fair. apple should at least make sure its stolen. apple care should cover theft. now i know the reason they wont replace apple products, because someone could easily say their iphone got stolen and didnt even have a phone in the firt place. Thats understandable but cant they check my records? ANYTHING! Check with my provider. Cspire knows my phone has been stolen for over a month. IT`s Gone. please! i dont want any other phone ! my account is still active. its suspended but not shut down. please ! is there anything i can do BESIDES find my iphone . that app is useless at times like this!

It's a good idea to check the terms of your insurance first. Some companies will raise your rates as soon as you make any kind of claim, no matter how small, and the deductible may be so high that making a claim is not worthwhile.
Sorry for the loss of your phone. It's a huge pain, I know.
