Apple TV Activation Failed???

I recently purchased an Apple TV (2 months ago) and it was working fine but now all of a sudden under General Settings, About, it says activation failed and it will not allow me to view Hulu Tv etc. Also, an error message comes up saying I need to verify payment information in my iTunes account. I went in and verified and its still not working. I reset all the settings, I tried restoring, I restarted and also reset my modem and wireless router (even though it's hard wired to the modem. In addition, I turned on home sharing on all m devices and nothign is listed under "computers"... totally annoyed.
Has anyone else had this issue? I am so frustrated! Thank God for Airplay so I can watch TV because I don't have cable, only apple tv.

I just noticed this problem today. I had the same exact issue. I tried rebooting it and it wouldn't come up. It would just show the activation failed screen. I did a restore from iTunes. Now I can use it but it still says activation failed under settings > general. Did you by chance have iOS 6 beta installed?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

I found some steps to help resolve the "Activation: failed" error messsage you are getting on your Apple TV:
Restart your base station or router. Sometimes this is done by turning the router off for a few seconds, and then on again, but check the documentation provided by the manufacturer.
To restart your Apple TV, press and hold Menu and Menu down/scroll ( - ) for about 6 seconds and then choose Restart from the menu.
If the issue continues after restarting, reset your router or base station and Apple TV to factory settings
Reset your base station or router. Use the documentation provided by the manufacturer to reset to factory settings.
To reset your Apple TV perform a factory restore.

IMessage activation fails: could not sign in

iMessage activation fails: could not sign in. It waits for activation endlessly.
The issue started with contacts not being available for iMessage. I ended up not being able to sign in on both Mac and iPhone. Everything works fine on my iPad though.
Any ideas other than those posted around here? iMessage is becoming a real pain.

I had my Ipad for a very long time... I would say for over two years, but never had the chance to update it to ios 5 or higher... till today.. I updated through Itunes.... Well... this thing is not working anymore because it tells me that the activation failed... ... I tried restoring it and nothing... and the nearest apple store is about 3 hours away... what do I do?... By the way... all I do with my ipad is play games with my kids and check for email and music... no weird stuff... can anyone help?

From what I am reading I am assuming that your iPad hasn't yet been updated past iOS4. If thats correct,
try using this article for help updating from iOS 4 or earlier : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
I will tell you that before updating from 4 to 5 or later, you must erase and restore your device before completing the update.

I tried to activate a web dynpro component and the activation failed. Have listed error messages from the request log and activation log. Do let me know what could be the issue. The application deployed successfully on my local J2EE.

There's obviously something missing in your WD DC: "Startup plug is missing". Your code has been checked-in to the inactive workspace. What you can do now is synchronize your DC with the server. You should get the same error then in your local NWDS and solve it.

Apple's activation server is down.
I called Apple and the support team had the same issue.
All you can do is be patient.

ATV3 After Recent Update Activation Failed(Skipped)

I'm a new user to apple products, I bought ATV3 couple of weeks ago. It was working fine. I used AirParrot to mirror my PC (Win7) and airplay was working fine on my friend's iPhone. After a restart (I guess it was updated to iOS 7), I couldn't mirror my PC nor run music from my iTunes. I can only see my shared libraries from ATV3 GUI.
I tried to reset, but i got activation failed. I tried all the rest options (Restore All settings, Restore and Restore from iTunes), all led me to the same results, activation failed and no mirroring is available neither from AirParrot nor iPhone.
Please help.

- The DNS is already set to Auto. I modified it to manual then automatic again.
- I tried Ethernet, restarted a few times.
- I didn't change the location of the Wi-Fi, specially it is located in the same room. Youtube is working perfectly via ATV.
I can see my iTunes library on ATV, why I can't mirror any device??
If downgrading will fix the problem, I'm willing to do it.

It sounds like your phone is not activating correctly when you are trying to set it up. I would recommend the troubleshooting from the following article named:
Get help activating your iPhone

Check the system status for iOS Device Activation. If the iOS Device Activation status isn't green, try activating your iPhone later.
Restart the iPhone.
Try to reach the activation server another way, then try to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you can't activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you can't activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you try to activate your iPhone, place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you still can't complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.
If you're asked to enter a password to proceed with activating the iPhone, Activation Lock might be enabled as part of Find my iPhone.

Imessage and facetime activation failed

Hi,
after reinstalling mit iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.4) I'm currently unable to activate imessage and facetime. When I try to activate both I get a SMS from
+447786205094 with content starting "REG-RESP?V+3;..." after a while I see that imessage and facetime activation failed.
Does anyone else having this issues today? How can I fix it? Is there a problem in the apple environment?

Yes, i'm having the same Problem. I came back from London yesterday evening, wanted to reactivate iMessage on my iPhone, but i immediately recieved nearly the Same Message from that number. The Link in the Last answer does Not help me.

Apple order status Fail

It's not the phone thats the problem, (I will review my Unit for death grip to see if apple have fixed it on the sly)...
My **** Order status (which is linked from my E-mails from apple) Will no longer take me to the "Track this shipment" page... I was doing it obsessively all day and now it fails.
Also, they've shipped my order (with Apple care activated) and I have no carrier information... (shipped 14 july), with a message saying its on time with a 19th of july date and an estimate of 27th of july.

Go to the Apple store site and log on to get status (home page, upper right corner)
Or use the carrier tracking number they should have sent you.

I cannot setup my FaceTime account because it says FaceTime activation failed. "Please verify your network connection and try again." My network works fine and my Apple ID works for getting apps, but will not activate FaceTime. Any fixes out there?
