Applet loading problem with Weblogic 10.3

Hello,
we are trying to run a java applet (compiiled with JDK1.6.0.14) with the latest weblogic (11g or 10.3) and we get the following error:
The applet works with Safari and the old version firefox. But IE and the latest firefox return the following error:

I appreciate any help and suggestions in advance.
Best,

I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Image loading problem with weblogic security page

    I developed an j2ee application on tomcat server. After successful working in tomcat I migrated to weblogic server.
    So problem is the application is working properly with out security in weblogic. Later security is added to the application, then the back ground images are not loading in .jsp pages. Please suggest me what i have to follow to display back ground images in the .jsp pages. I was unable to find solution.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There is a BADI (TRIP_IMP_EXP) that can help you to restrict trip amount by set delimit date.
    Use RESTRICT_TRAVEL_RANGE method ot do this.

  • Applet load problem with Linux browsers

    My application uses jsp and applets and I am having a problem loading the applets
    under all Linux browsers. If you switch between the applets rapidly then without fail you will get yourself into a state where the applets do not load (you see the applet
    splash screen and that's it). When you are in this state you cannot load any future applets from this browser. You have to kill the browser and start it again to load the applet. I have tested this with Galeon 1.2.6, Mozilla 1.0.1, and Netscape 7.0 with versions 1.4.1_01, 1.4.0_01, and 1.3.1_05. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? A thread dump shows that there are many threads waiting on monitors that I am afraid will never get notified since I have clicked onto another applet. Thanks for any insight...

  • Problem with Weblogic Builder SP1

    I have a problem with Weblogic Builder SP1. I basically re-used my EJB deployment
    descriptors from WL5.1 in WL8.1. Before SP1, i have no problem loading my EJB
    in WB. But with SP1, WB throws weblogic.marathon.model.LoadFailureException.
    I re-attempted by jarring my EJB with WL5.1 descriptors and used my friend's WB
    (not SP1) to export new descriptors which I used to re-jar. This new EJB is again
    not recognised by WB SP1?
    What is wrong?

    The exception is as follows:

    You'll have to at least show us the error you get from marathon.
    Does your application deploy to the server?

  • Problems with weblogic clustering in 6.1 sp3

    We have spent a lot of time trying to get our application deployed to
              a cluster using weblogic 6.1 sp3 and we consistently receive a failure
              when we attempt to start the managed server. This was not a problem
              with weblogic sp1--we got our application to deploy to the cluster
              successfully; although there was another weblogic bug there with
              clients accessing EJB clusters--we won't go into that here...
              We have tried this on both a Windows 2000 machine and an HP machine
              running weblogic sp3. The same error occurs on both platforms.
              The error in deploying our application to the cluster against weblogic
              sp3 looks to have to do with our custom security realm. Inside our
              custom realm we make use of a configurable providerUrl which we set to
              the cluster address/port. The custom realm makes a call where it
              passes in the providerUrl to:
                   weblogic.management.Helper.getMBeanHome(..., providerUrl,...)
              When we have our providerUrl set to the cluster address/port--e.g.,
                   t3://clustermember1:7001
              and attempt to start the managed server we get the error:
              Starting WebLogic Server ....
              Connecting to http://adminserver:7117...
              The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
              Exception raised:
              weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException:
              clustermember1 not found
                   at weblogic.management.Admin.getBootstrapLocalServer(Admin.java:1084)

                   at weblogic.Server.main(Server.java:35)
              Reason: Fatal initialization exception
              When we have our providerUrl set to the admin server address--e.g.,
                   t3://adminserver:7117
              everything starts up fine.
              Does anyone know why this would work on sp1 and not sp3 of weblogic
              6.1?
              We verified that all passwords are correct and everything else we
              could determine--any ideas would be helpful.
              We don't want the providerUrl to point at our admin server, we want it
              to point at the cluster address/port.
              When we get the managed server error, we received this error on the
              AdminServer:
              2002-08-15 16:52:23,019 ERROR [ExecuteThread: '11' for queue:

              Thanks for any help.

    Bottom line:
              In our custom realm we were not handling user guest correctly. Even if you
              have guest user disabled, Weblogic seems to have hard-coded guest to
              send messages to the cluster every-so-often. Not sure there--couldn't get
              an answer out of bea as to exactly why we see guest still being used...
              It seems that with sp3, the user guest interaction started happening earlier
              than it did with sp1, consequently making our realm code fail when trying to
              retrieve the guest user like someone we knew about in our system.
              Hence, our getUser and authUserPassword methods now return null for both
              users guest and system, making the secondary realm (file realm) be used to
              authenticate and resolve guest & system. BEA helped get our code fixed;
              however, we still don't have a lot of depth in understanding Weblogic
              server's use of guest...
              Apparently, in 7.x the guest & system user behavior and configuration is
              different also... We'll see when we start digging into that migration.

  • Problem with weblogic.Deployer in 8.1

    I have a problem with weblogic.Deployer. My application deploys and works fine
    if I manually copy the ear or the exploded form into weblogic's applications\
    directory (hot deployment). But, if I use the weblogic.Deployer tool, it fails
    with the following exception. Does the deployer tool expect something in the ear
    (or exploded form) that I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Deepak,
    I didn't understand the suggested resolution. Can you tell me what it means?
    However, I found a similar problem in the archives, so I tried from command line
    (outside ant) using "java weblogic.Delployer ...." and it worked! It doesn't work
    from ant. So, you think there's some conflict between my ant and weblogic's ant
    task "WLDdeploy"?
    Thanks,
    Vas

  • Java 1.5_13 applet loading problem due to 'activate control' fix

    I updated my JRE to Java 1.5 revision 13, and it seems to introduce a new problem. In order to fix the "click here to activate this control" problem in internet explorer, I iterate the document model and set the outerHTML of the applet tag to the same outerHTML. This removes the annoying rectangle in IE. This also causes the applet to load and break down the first time the page is displayed, because IE removes the old applet instance and creates a new one when replacing the outerHTML. When this happens on the new Java JRE release, an exception is thrown to the user saying:
    java.lang.NullPointerException

         at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source)
         at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    The applet loads correctly, but the message should not be displayed. Also, it only seems to happen sometimes (maybee because sometimes the applet does not yet start before IE runs the script to replace its contents)

    Does anyone know how to fix this new issue? Or does anyone know of a better way to solve the 'activate control' problem in IE that does not cause the reloading of this applet?
    Thanks.

    Hi!
    *1 -* Poor_Sitar_player's solution that i used.
    a - Build the applet's comented code into a div ...
    </div id='555>
    <!--
    <body>
    <applet name="EditoRTFa.class" id='editor' archive="../pages/expediente/Modelo/Editor/EditoRTFa.jar"
    code="br.gov.pa.tj.processo.expediente.casos.editor.EditoRTFa.class" width="750" height="550">
    </applet>
    <body>
    -->
    </div>
    b - After, insert a javascript the will remove the coments....
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var x = document.getElementById('555');
    var texto = x.innerHTML;
    texto = texto.replace('<!--','').replace('-->','');
    x.innerHTML = texto;
    <script type="text/javascript">
    *2 - Another solution*
    If you are using struts2 or your applet is inside a internal frame, is possible that the above solution will not work.
    So, the solution that i found was place the applet code in the main page, with width and heigh iguals "*0*" and style="float: left;" to hide the applet.
    This way, the applet will be load before you call the right page.
    That's all.

  • Signed applet not working with weblogic 5.1

    I have a problem with a signed applet. The applet is signed correctly
    and it starts up the dynamic trust management console in java plugin
    1.3.1_02 when accessed locally with the browser. But when trying to
    access the applet through weblogic (5.1) the dynamic trust management
    doesn't popup, as if the applet is not recognized as signed. In the
    weblogic policy file in WLS I have set permissions to include the
    applet class (AllPermission given to codeBase https://-, and file:/-
    to be sure that it's not the problem).
    I have tryed to run it under both http and https. I'm not making an
    rmi connection back to WL. I'm simply trying to write on the local
    file system with the applet.
    The error received in the javaconsole is java.lang.SecurityException:

    I really apreaciate any tips you might have!

    yeah. I noticed the same thing. now the splash screen comes on without the flashing green squares and just hangs. i tried unintalling and then reinstalling and still no go. kind of annoying but they will probably come out with an update pretty soon

  • Using StoneBeat WebCluster load balancing with WebLogic

              Hi,
              I have done some testing of WebLogic Server with my company's StoneBeat WebCluster
              distributed load balancing software. This might be one more option to consider
              as a load balancing solution for WLS. It is advanced in the sense that load balancing
              is really dynamic, there are no single-points of failure (distributed architecture)
              and there is a very good, configurable test subsystem that runs on each cluster
              node to check for overload situations, HW/OS failures, ...
              In the initial testing, the WebCluster load balancing works with WebLogic replication,
              although there are some cases that need mroe consideration (please see below).
              I had to get a patch to WLS6SP1 on NT to make WLS' multicast work when there are
              several NICs on the cluster nodes.
              However, there is one case which causes problems:
              - I have 3 cluster nodes
              - P: 2, S: 3 (SessionServlet = 1)
              - 2: offline - P: 3, S: 1 (SessionServlet = 2; WebCluster randomly selected a
              new node to handle the connection)
              - 2: online - P: 2, S: ? (SessionServlet = 3, WebCluster redistributes the load
              when a node goes online)
              - 2: offline
              - P: 3, S: 1 (__SessionServlet = 1__) NB!
              The log messages show that when node 2 comes back online it retrieves the replica
              from the secondary (node 1) and not from the primary (node 3). After a while (5-6
              minutes), node 3 tries to update the replica on node 1. Node 1 considers this
              a stale update request and removes the Primary 16... (node name) and then the
              secondary for 16... (the replicated object). Then there's a message (still on
              node 1) that it is unable to find object 16... Back on node 3 the primary for

              From the WLS6 documentation (under the discussion of using replication with external
              HW load balancing solutions) I thought that this case would have been handled:
              - it is stated that after the failure of a node, if the HWLB box sends the next
              request to a node where there is no replica, WLS is able to retrieve the replica
              - to be fair, this is what happens: when node 2 came back online, it retrieved
              the replica from node 1 (the secondary) - I suppose that there is an assumption
              that if a request arrives to a node without a replica, the primary __must have
              failed__
              Is there any way to get around this problem?
              Admittedly, WebCluster has a problem in that the stickyness of connections is
              not perfect: - when a node goes online, a connection that was correctly persisted
              (based on either source-ip or source-network address) may be moved to a new node
              since the load is redistributed. Our load balancing is very dynamic, but doesn't
              maintain a list of who is connected to which node when resistribution takes place

    Rick,
    You may want to look at the Alteon and F5 configuration we have on edocs.
    Take a look at the following URLs for a possible solution

  • Applet loading problem

    Hi, I'm new to applets and I'm having problems - it seems that I can't compile applets correctly or something. I tried the example at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/applet/overview/lifeCycle.html .
    If I download and compile Simple.java and set up the html and resulting class file on my server as instructed, the applet won't load - I get a message saying "load: class Simple not found".
    HOWEVER, if I then simply download the Simple.class file from the example above (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/applet/overview/example/Simple.class) and use that to replace the file that my compiler produced, the applet loads up fine.
    I'm using version 1.4.1_02 of the java2 SDK and version 6.0 of IE with service pack 1.
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Sure. =)
    Simple.java:
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    public class Simple extends Applet {
        StringBuffer buffer;
        public void init() {
         buffer = new StringBuffer();
            addItem("initializing... ");
        public void start() {
            addItem("starting... ");
        public void stop() {
            addItem("stopping... ");
        public void destroy() {
            addItem("preparing for unloading...");
        void addItem(String newWord) {
            System.out.println(newWord);
            buffer.append(newWord);
            repaint();
        public void paint(Graphics g) {
         //Draw a Rectangle around the applet's display area.
            g.drawRect(0, 0,
                 getSize().width - 1,
                 getSize().height - 1);
         //Draw the current string inside the rectangle.
            g.drawString(buffer.toString(), 5, 15);
    The html page just contains a tag that says
    <applet code="Simple.class" width="500" height="100"></applet>And I put both the html and the class file in the same directory on my web server.
    Here's a link to a site with the class file I compiled from Simple.java:
    http://www.webdino.net/~bkwa/applet/ben/simple.html
    Here's a link to a site with the class file I downloaded from sun's site:

    Does JSF work with WebLogic?

    Have you already figured it out? I have the same
    problem to deploy a jsf war file to Weblogic 8.1.I got it working on wls 8.1 sp2. This is a work around for some of us who need to work with existing products and any upgrade to a newer version takes its own sweet time. Read below ...
    1.     Work-around for listener in web.xml not working
    a.     Create InitFacesContext Servlet
    public class InitFacesContext extends GenericServlet {
         StartupServletContextListener listener;
         public void destroy() {
              super.destroy();
              listener.contextDestroyed(new ServletContextEvent(getServletContext()));
         public void init(ServletConfig arg0) throws ServletException {
              super.init(arg0);
              listener = new StartupServletContextListener();
              listener.contextInitialized(new ServletContextEvent(getServletContext()));
         public void service(ServletRequest arg0, ServletResponse arg1) throws ServletException, IOException {

  • Problem with WebLogic 10.3.3, Apache 2.2.3 and WebLogic Apache proxy plugin

    I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
    <VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
    # Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
    ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
    SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
    </VirtualHost>
    This works fine
    Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
    e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
    I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
    WebLogicPort 16101
    Debug ALL
    SecureProxy ON
    WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
    WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
    </IfModule>
    <Location /service>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
    Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.

    I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Oracle 8.1.5 database connection problem with WebLogic 5.1

    Hello,
    the NSAPI integration works, also the JSP files.
    But I have still problems with the Jdriver for my Oracle 8.1.5.
    I get the message :
    Failed to invoke startup class
    weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.JdbcStartup=weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.JdbcStartup
    when the WebLogic Server is started.
    Any ideas or hints about that?
    Thanks in advance

    Post the full stacktrace here
    Also you might want to post jdbc related questions to weblogic.developer.

  • Crystal 11 - Latest Service Pack loaded - problem with Kyocera printer

    Post Author: sorrock
    CA Forum: Integrated Solutions
    Hi
    We are using Crystal 11 Report Writer, and Sage ACCPAC.  Since Upgrading our ACCPAC all the crystal reports that ACCPAC utilises are coming up as garbage on the preview screen.  I have ruled out a sage issue by opening crystal directly and opening the respective report, the garbage still appears, if I change the printer that it is set to then the report appears fine.
    The printer is a Kyocera  -  fs-c8026n   the driver is a Kyocera Mita extended Driver.
    Any other printer is fine - so I am looking for anyone who has had problems with a Kyocera printing garbage.
    I have loaded the latest service pack for Crystal.
    Can anyone please help - apologies if I have put this on the incorrect forum
    Thanks
    Stacey

    Hi Jim,
    You can upgrade to CR XI R2 for free by downlaoding the trial version, install using your XI keycode and then getting a keycode for XI R2 to enable all features.
    Or to upgrade XI only then install the latest service pack will bring you up to date.
    Thank you
    Don
