Hi Experts,
Question - When during Applicant data entry there is a option to refer a advertisement/instrument for the applicant, after data transfer to Employee D/B where exactly is this information transferred to?
Requirement - I would like to capture detail about the advertisement, or instrument (job consultant) through which an applicant comes in and gets selected as Employee. This is for processing payment to job consultant.

You can create the advertisement through PBAW but to update the consultant information/ Media/Instrument / Instrument follow mentioned pathy :
IMG>Personnel Management>Recruitment>Workforce Requirements and Advertising>Create media>Create recruitment instruments>Create addresses for recruitment instruments.

How to hire applicant as employee
This may sound simple but I am struggling a little bit.
( Unfortunately working as a tech support guy means very limited knowledge of functional steps.)
I have created an applicant (on a test system) and trying to hire that person as employee, how do I do that in 11.5.10.2 in UK HRMS?

Additional info: When I go to the applicant screen, his details are greyed out, cant make any changes :-(

If you have created Applicant record today only (effective date) you would be able to hire the applicant from tomorrow ondards only.
So if thi is the case. Please navigate to UK HRMS Manager --> People --> Enater and maintain --> Search the applicant
Change the effective date to (4th may) --> Now click on the Action(right upper corner on the screen) and selce Hire Applicant --> Save the work.
P:- to hire applicant as an employee applicant status should be Accepted, if this is not the case. Please change the status of the applicant to Accepted. Follows the navigation : UK HRMS Manger --> people --> Enter and maintain --> Search Applicant --> Click Other --> Application --> change the status to Accepted.

I am actually BI guy. Now my requirement is to calculate costs related to employee BI from HR.
Before going a head i would like to know the relationship between employee and FI.
Can anyone clarify me the following questions?
How can i calculate below employee costs. which tables i need to use and by using wage type can i differentiate costs related to employee?

4.Separation Costs
5.Training & Development costs/ FTE

As far as I know there is no specific table of field for recruitment expenses. Is client keep it based on applicant(AP) or employee(EE)? If yes how they are doing that?
You know we specify a cost for RC ad. but I am not sure how they assign it to EE. Imagine 100 AP apply for a job and they hire just 2. How they keep the cost is related to for these EEs? It's better to ask the process from client for this issue then we can find how SAP keeps it.
For training and travel cost also I doesn't have any experience. I recommend to consider SAP standard structure for HR in business warehouse(BW) system. You should search how to extract for example travel cost. For example have a look at http://scn.sap.com/thread/1986595
Otherwise if you are interested in considering FI tables again you should ask client how they are keeping FI data for EEs. As far as I know in FI side they should define a Vendor account for each EE. If this is the case you can find in tables BSIK and BSAK.
By the way, you should consider if they have any special G/L indicator also or not. To separate the items in FI maybe they have some G/L accounts and they are posting through vendor(account payable in accounting menu) but by special G/L indicator.

Holliday has to be created and to be alloted to female employees only

Holiday has to created as womens day in holiday calander.
It should be applicable to female employees only. Is it possible that when we generate holiday calander for all the employees then Holiday womens day is applicable to female employees only.

what is difference between contractor and employee vacancy. when we hire an employee in the contractor vacancy what impact it have in core HR.

We have seeded field "Employement Status" there you can signifies that whether vacancy could be contractor and employee vacancy.
If Employement Status type is "Contractor" you can selective applicant as Contract Employee in Core HRMS.
Once you hire applicant as Contract employee you can provide contract start date and end date in Contract Window of Core HRMS.

Logical Database in EHS_OH001
Dear Friends,
Hope you all are doing good and Wish you a very happy new years.
Let come to Problem.
I am using a logical database (EHS_OH001) in my report. The firs event is pernr. In this event, it fetches the employee no. and this employee could be employee, applicant or external employee.
But the first preference goes to employee then applicant and last external empoyee.
Let me give you some example.
Suppose you provide the emp no 42. Now 42 can be employee, applicant or external employee but it always fetchs the employee. There is not field where you can select the employee flag (Employee, Applicant or external employee).
Is there any OSS note or What work around can be done.

I think there is error in LDB EHS_OH001.
Suppose, you have employee no 42 and you can have the same employee no for external employee and applicant also. So the program fetches always emp no data.
The entries for applicant and external emplyee maintain in BUT000 table.

Absence Quota Requirment in Time Management
Hi All
I have a Requirement of a Casual Day where in prefixing or suffixing CL days with weekly offs or holidays is allowed. However, both prefixing & suffuxing will result in on extra day being counted as CL.
For more information : It is applicable to all Employee Sub Grouping for Time Quotas & Personnel Sub Area Grouping for Time
Quotas .
Please let me know how to configure this at the earliest .

Absence quota rounding in Time Evaluation

The monthly quota generation is 2.49962. I need to round this off too 2.50
I have written this PCR and calling it after Function QUOTA.

Actually the employee had moved from one Personnel area to another but due to the settings same Absence quota was applicable to the employees in both cases.
Now i am not able to delimit the record in 2006 from transfer date.

Absence quota addition after Time Evaluation
Hi Experts,
This is regarding Time Evaluation.
Time Evaluation Configuration is fine. Absence quota is getting generated in days.
But while adding to the previous balance it's treated as hours and the net balance is coming as hours.
Example, Absence quota from previous year = 15 hrs
Quota generated = 0.77 days
After generation the total is 15 + 0.77 = 15.77 hours.

Which HRMS API can be used to hire a Contact?
In either 11i and/or R12.1.3, who knows which HRMS API(s) can be used to hire a contact? That is, a "person" that exists in the system but is not an ex-employee, e.g., someone's spouse, or child. This is a person that exists in PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F, with a SYSTEM_PERSON_TYPE of OTHER. We are not using iRec or any applicant functionality, so I cannot create an application for the Contact and then hire the Applicant. Instead, my requirement is to directly hire the Contact.
I am using the following APIs for other scenarios, but haven't figured out the Contact hire yet:
HR_EMPLOYEE_API.CREATE_US_EMPLOYEE - using this API for brand new hires that do not currently exist in the database
HR_EMPLOYEE_API.RE_HIRE_EX_EMPLOYEE - using this API for rehiring ex-employees that already exist as a person in the database
One more note, I am able to accomplish this task with no problems from the front-end, so I expect there must be a way to do the same from the back-end.
e.g.,
1) Navigate to Person Form
2) Find Contact
3) Change Action to "Create Employment"
4) Choose Person Type "Employee"
5) Save, which successfully hires the Contact and creates the employee record

While the Oracle iRep only shows the 1 HIRE_INTO_JOB procedure, a look in the database at the package uncovers a second, overloaded, HIRE_INTO_JOB procedure that should address my requirement. I believe this will work, but I'll test this out and post back with my results. Here are excerpts from the 2 signatures. The second (new) overloaded procedure should work:

In my project absence mgt is applicable for Netherland employees. When an NL manager applies leave and his manager from puerto rico tries to approve it from UWL , the manager is getting the following ERROR on clicking on the leave request in his inbox task.

This UWL error in Leave approval workflow is coming ONLY when PR manager is trying to NL employee's leave .
All other country managers ( US , CH , FR etc) are able to approve the leave without any issue.
We are using the standard leave approval workflow.

The above issue can occur if the rule group , to which this employee belongs, the leave type is not configured correctly. Please check the view V_T556A_WEB. The leave type and the rule group need to be defined here .
Also make sure that the counting rule for the leave type is also define correctly in T556C. Once the leave type for the approver which belongs to the rule group has been correctly configured, way it has been done for normal employees, there will not be any issue.
Kindly complete the necessary customizing and check your results.

Posting to Two different GL account for one condition type
Hi All,
In MM pricing procedure we are assigning one new condition type as Management Exp Charges.
we creat two Transaction/Event key and assigned one in ActKy Colum and another in in Accural column.
Suppose we are charging 10 $ towards Management Exp.
Is there any way to Post 10$ in two different GL account.
DR.Expnses account (As per GL assigned in Actky column) 10$
Cr. Expenses Accural charges ( GL aasigned in accural Colum) 10$
Howevre as per our current setting it was Cr to Accural account but for debit transaction it was going to stock/gain account.
please help us to resolve this issue.

Can u specify why the customer two interest rates for one loan type. Is the interest on loan going to change for any periodicity.
Other wise you can create two loan types with nearest understandable naming convenction and use them for your business requirement. Which ever is applicable for the employee can be selected by your customer.

How to define a Recur. Paymeny/Ded wage type for an Emp Subgroup
I have created a Recur. Payment/Deduction (0014) wage type of "Fixed Amount" value 9say, Rs.2000). I want all the employees of an Employee Group to get this amount in salary, periodically (say in periods 2, 4 & 6). I know, thru "Personnel Actions-Maintain", I can set up the "1st Payment Period", "Interval in Periods" etc. for this infotype for a particular employee. But I want the same setting to be applicable for all employees of an employee subgroup. How to acheive this? Because, doing the same setting for all the employees is difficult and also error prone.

The task is to map the 2 source dependent values (left hand side) to the 4 source independent domain (W_) values (right hand side). Unlike other similar steps in this case the set of possible domain values is ambiguous.

The reason you should not change the domain values is because these values tend to be "hard coded" in the ETL/RRD/requests to provide the various metrics. "Incorrect mappings may result in inaccurate calculations of Oracle Business Intelligence metrics. Some sessions may fail if these procedures are not compiled in the database before running the workflows."

This is confusing because
i) the category values are differnet to those in default file (EMPLOYEE or CONTINGENT)
ii) the DMR document has no listing of the possible sub categories
So the question is - what do you map your source values to? The instructions are not clear! The only way I can think to find out for sure is to do an impact analysis of the ETL's / RPD / requests to find instances of hard coded values for the domain values.

I need more room on my C drive, I wanted to install the desktop onto the D drive, I uninstalled the app but it keeps on installing back on my C drive, Please help
