Application designer issue - Cannot display image preview

Hi guys,
When I attempt to use an image icon as the label for a pushbutton,
I receive this message in App Designer:
"Cannot display image preview.
The ImgDisplay ActiveX control may not be properly registered. Use the
Install Workstation functionality of Configuration Manager to register this control"
Anyone has the same experience on it ?

What OS is your workstation running on?
Which PeopleTools version are you running?
Are your an administrator on the workstation?
Did you try Install Workstation from Configuration Manager as stated in the error?

Don't use jsp for that, use servlet. because the jsp engine will send a blank lines to outPutStream corresponding to <%@ ...> tags and other contents included in your /html/base.jsp file before sending the image. The result will not be treated as a valid image by the browser.
To test this, type directly showcontent.jsp on your browser, and view it source.

VGS-1003: Cannot display image

Hi All,
I've JPG images with small size (3 KB TO 5 KB) stored in BLOB database field in a report.
some of images are shown successfully but others give this error:
VGS-1003: Cannot display image
I make horizontal and vertical elasticity to contract and make an PL/SQL on the field:
IF :ID is not null -- a field in the same group indicates the image is found.
return true;
else
return false;
end if;
exception
when no_data_found then return null;
but this does not solve the problem. Why this error occurred for some images only and how to solve?
Note: I'm using Oracle DB 11g R2, Reports 6i

Even I had some problem in displaing the Images which is located somewhere in the defined path of server. I am using Forms 10g.
I have tried with .BMP file and it worked out.
I am using the following code in In-New-Form_Instance
READ_IMAGE_FILE(:GLOBAL.Image_Path ||'test.bmp', 'BMP', 'IMG_TEST');

10G: design view cannot display a UIX update page

I get the following error message when I try to display a page in both Design View and Preview View:
Required page property "key" missing. Cannot display page.
This is the same error message I get if I run the system and try to access the page directly and bypass the view page where the user selects a row of data for update.
Does this mean that any update page such as this one cannot use the visual editor?

It looks like the design editor runs the code. I noticed that it even fills in the fields with data from the database.
Since it does that, it would need a key on the update pages to know what record to display.

Alias to Image does not display image preview icon (Regression!)

I noticed that an alias to an image no longer displays the underlying image preview in the icon, instead you get the standard "JPEG" icon.
I have turned on icon previews (since other images in the same folder are correctly displayed) and all that. Also if you press Space on the Alias, the fancy Preview window will open and show the correct image. The icon however is dead. I've tested this with many images and with both OS created Aliases and using "ln -s".
This seems to apply to all kinds of alises that in the past would show the icon of their parent, not only images.
The alias "arrow" overlay is enough to inform the user that the file is an alias, there is no need to display the standard "JPEG" icon, that is so passé.

The same thing appears to be a latent bug from Tiger -- I am seeing this in 10.4.11, and as Rob notes, it's not always consistent.
What's worse, Rob's suggestion won't work for me... because the "Select New Original..." button is greyed out! I realize this is technically a Leopard thread, but I can't imagine this was deliberately changed between 10.4 and 10.5, so I would think it would be applicable pretty broadly.
Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome indeed.

Bex Web Application Designer issue: portal communication error

I am working with Bex Web Application Designer in BI7. we are using SP9. When i try to use the Web template its giving below error.
The Requested operation could not be performed due to portal communication error.
its message class is RSBOPLAP and message number is 018 and description is Java System error: An unknown error occured During portal communication.
when i double click the below error details given.
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the BI components on the SAP J2EE Engine.

Contact your system administrator to have the error analyzed in detail.
Procedure for System Administration
Start the Visual Administrator, log on to the SAP J2EE Engine and choose "<J2EE_SID>" ->"Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Viewer".
The file "defaultTrace.trc" includes detailed information about the error that occurred. In Windows, you can find this file in the Log Viewer under "Cluster <computer name>" -> "Server <server number>" -> "<drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server<NUMBER>\log". ". In Unix, the file is located under "/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/server<NUMBER>/log".
If the file does not include enough detail about the error, you can increase the log level to obtain more information. To do this, choose "<J2EE_SID>" -> "Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Configurator". On the "Locations" tab page, choose "com" -> "sap" -> "ip" -> "bi" -> "webapplications". Using the selection list on the right side of the screen, you can increase the log level, whereby "DEBUG" represents the log level with the most information. You can save your settings by choosing the "Save" icon. The change to the log level is active immediately. Once you have successfully analyzed the error, you should set the log level back to its default value using the appropriate pushbutton; continuous writing to the log file negatively affects the overall performance of the system.

Cannot display image

My Thunderbird version is 31.0. when I receive some email that contain images from my colleague, these images cannot display. but when I copy or move the message to one of my local folders, images can display.
who can explain this phenomenon for me ?

Brandeis U. switched to Gmail; since then I cannot display images in Firefox 3.6.13

Brandeis U. used to have its own email system (bmail), which linked to Firefox flawlessly. Brandeis switched to Gmail recently, which I do not like. After linking Firefox 3.6.13 to the Gmail, I can see my mail as text only, with urls linking to images. I found that in Gmail one has a choice of text only or images. You can chose "Always display images," but you have to do this for each site; however this does not carry over to Firefox. I have not been able to find the equivalent of "Always display images" in Firefox. Is there one? Also, after migrating to Gmail, when displaying old messages which used to show images in bmail, they now show text only.

Cannot display images after updating SSL certificate

Hello All,
With the changes in SSL certificates (no support for .local domains in public certificates), I had to update the SSL certificate used for our Exchange 2010 Server. We are a small organization with a single server running Exchange Server 2010.
There were some articles about how to change the URL's within Exchange to use the public (not .local) domain names. We followed these instructions and now, when a user using Outlook sends an e-mail with an image embedded to other users in the domain,
they see a placeholder for the graphic with the text "The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location." . This is causing a great
deal of concern to the users and I cannot find anything on how to fix or even troubleshoot this issue. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

According to your post, I understand that client face an problem “The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location” after change SSL certificate.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Do you see the "page cannot be displayed" error only from your DC server or also from a Windows 7 client machine? What browser do you use and what version?
Please run “certutil –store” command from a command to verify that the certificate is correctly installed in the certificate store. Also run “certutil -store my” to check the certificate from CA.
If the certificate is already installed, please refer to below link to check the value of Cache in registry:

Cannot display image after jquery hover/image swap..?

Since upgrading to Firefox 13.0, once you hover over the thumbnails a few times.. the original/main image disappears and when I click on the link which has replaced the image, I get an error: The image cannot be displayed because it contains errors.
However, if I go to the page, open the image in a new tab *before* I start hovering over the thumbnails--the image appears just fine. Then I can hover over the thumbnails, the main image disappears and then I click on the link.. and I get the error.
I have examined both image paths and everything is exactly the same.
This happens on my Mac and Windows machine, but only in Firefox 13.0.
I have followed all the instructions found here:

with no luck.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Note: The url provided is just an example--I am able to get it to error out on other product pages--however, it isn't *always* the main image that errors out... sometimes it is one of the thumbnail images. But each time, those images *have* loaded at least once before they error out.

Try to reset all network.http prefs on the about:config page to the default values if you've ever made any changes.
Type about:config in the location (address) bar to open the about:config page and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the URL of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page. 
*Use the Search bar at the top of the about:config page to locate preferences more easily
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set)
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean) or by double-clicking the line with the pref
*Preferences can be created via the right-click context menu: New -> String, Integer, Boolean

BEx Web Application Designer - Info Field - Display Static Filter Values

Hi there,
I'm not sure if anyone is having the same issue I am having... but here goes.
I have the option DISPLAY STATIS FILTER VALUES turned on in my 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN & 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT web print templates for printing to PDFs from the Query Designer.
- If I have it turned on, all the filters (including the dynamic) are displayed with about 4 rows of empty space between each line.
- If I have it turned off, the dynamic filters are displayed normally.
Does anyone know how to affect the font and spacing of this setting?
Note: As it is the the standard print template, I can't add the perameters of which filter to display.
Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Help to your answer I could understand my mistake. I was customizing the Data Binding part instead of the Internal Display.
I did the following :
[ ]Display Static Filter Values
[ ]Display Genertal Text Elements
[ ]Display Dynamic Filter Values
[x]Display Variables
[ ] Only Variable with values
And it is working now.
FYI: no need to uninstall and reinstall the Bex tools, it worked directly with the latest patch.

Issue with displaying images from bestseller.inc.jsp

I'm new in developing with NWDI and I'm having this small problem:
in bestseller.inc.jsp (which includes productlist.jsp) there are two links with a product's code and a products description, which when clicked, navigate to productDetailsISA.jsp with the details of the product. While the images of all the products from other jsp's (for example from ProductsISA.jsp) display correctly in the ProductDetailsISA.jsp, there is a problem with the images of the products from bestseller and recommendations jsp's (they both include productlist jsp).
The code for creating the links *in productlist.jsp is the following:

Cannot display Print Preview

Hi, I am working on 3.1 version. I created plants, PO and did assignments. Uploaded master data. Everything is okay, but when I want display or print Preview PO through Transaction ME90 (ME9F in 4.7) it simply does nothing. It is not showing anything. Do I forget to do any configuration like assigning PO layouts to Company code.

Please check if you have set up the following ;
1) Define the PO Output Type (NEU, for instance) in spro .
2) Assign your PO Form and PO Print-out Program in spro.
3) Define Message Schema for Purchase Order. This step consists of two sub-steps -
3a) Maintain Message Determination Schema: Purchase Order. In this case use the Procedure RMBEF1.
3b) Assign Message Schema to your PO.
4) Maintain the Condition Record for your PO Message Type via Transaction MN04.

Application Design Issue

Hi,
we are starting a project in Oracle ADF 11g, this is our first project in 11g,
till now we were working in 10g deployment on OAS.
When we were developing applications in 10g we created separate applications
deployed on separated OC4J instances in order not to interrupt the whole business(the application needs to be available 24/7) when we make a deployment.
Now in 11g as I understand the best practice is to have one page application
and all other page fragments need to be embedded in regions inside that page.
My fear is that in the future even for very small change the deployment will interrupt
the whole business,
Could anyone suggest me what is better approch?

i have a template which has three drop down boxes,a table and a chart, when i select only the first two i should pass the url to query1,and when i select all three then i should be able to pass the url to query2,query3,etc depending upon the value i select in the third drop down, i am passing the filter values(drop down values) as an url(url1:="<SAP_BW_URL DATA_PROVIDER='*' multi="X" FILTER_COLLAPS=' '>)and i am concatinating the filter and its values to that string for the first case.for the second one i need to pass the values to a particular query(url2:'<SAP_BW_URL DATA_PROVIDER='DATAPROVIDER1' CMD='RESET_DATA_PROVIDER' INFOCUBE='infocubexx' QUERY='query1'>)the query1 changes depending upon the value i choose from the third drop down box,eg if i chosee a value 2 it would be query2, i tried to concatinate the filter values to second url but it gives me error can u let me know how to pass the filter values to a particular query depending upon the selection.
and what is the difference between the following two:
