Application manager works, launch of all demos impossible

Hi guys,
I am trying to figure out this problem for hours but still have not found any solution. The Java Web Start Application Manager is working on all systems (NT 4, up to date) but when I try to start one of the demos (eg "notepad app"), problems start:
Java Web Start 1.2 Konsole, gestartet Thu Jan 15 13:25:56 GMT+01:00 2004
Java 2 Runtime Environment: Version 1.4.1_01 von Sun Microsystems Inc.

java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission accessClassInPackage.com.sun.javaws)
     at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:270)
I am a bit helpless because absolutely no problems occur on another machine (using Win XP) although java web start is configured exactly the same.

Thanks for your ideas, they are very appreciated!
Installation of JWS 1.4.2 is not possible on the machine JWS 1.2 is not working on. Unfortunately, I can not try it.
I do not know why the demos try to access classes in com.sun.javaws. I simply started the notepad...
The complete log may help to solve the problem:

  • CC Application Manager wont launch following failed update

The app mgr told me this morning there were an update for it so I ran it.  It ran for about a half hour with the progress bar never completing so finally I killed it and an error msg came up that unfortunately I did not save.  I got home after work and was trying to try it again and now the app mgr won't launch at all when I try to run it.  Since this is the app that updates my PS CC, Bridge, and Lightroom, it's kind of important.  I found a pdApp.log file that I am providing a dropbox link for below. Please help me resolve this ASAP.  BTW,  I have reapeatedly had problems updating the app manager but up to now I've had luck by trying it right after a clean reboot and running "as admnistrator".  However this is the first time after a failed update the application will not launch at all.  I have tried rebooting and that was not the answer this time around.
Here are the pdApp.log that has entries for today(03/21/14)...

  • Adobe Application Manager and other Installers All Messed up

I have a Mac Pro running 10.5.8 and CS5 Design Premium. Today I noticed 3 new updates: Bridge 4.0.2, Camera Raw 6.1, and a Flash thing. I ran the update using Adobe Application Manager (AAM). It failed on all three. I tried every way I could find to re-install AAM including
    1. Deleting the PDApp folder under OOBE
    2. Running the installer from a terminal window in silent mode
    3. Running the original installer
Running the original installer starts AAM, which then crashes, and when I relaunch it, it looks for updates and doesn't return to dealing with the full install.
So, I have no idea what to do. I cannot reinstall CS5 or uninstall it. I cannot update anything, even by hand.
I am a fairly sophisticated OS X person, so I am not doing something stupid like not being connected to the net. It's a permissions or ownship thing.
    Any suggestions would help.

Your problem is similar to mine.AAM and Deavtive are two central actors in this isssus. OOdude is right on Deactive Question is YES/NO to AAM.     Two options with some trial and error.  Follow the below-but...
    AAM Runs??
    1) Deactivate. Uninstall. Run the clean-up script**. Reboot. Reinstall.  If you product key works, you’re good. Live long and be creative.
    AAM not Running? ‘
    2)  Backtrack on the link I left earlier.  Look it over.  If that helps, follow it.  Try running the clean-up script. Should pull the bad installation. Reboot and Reinstall. If your product key works, you should be good.
No luck?  The sticking point is the fact that you were not able to deactivate.  Tech support calls time. No matter how painfull, Adobe’s product key use database has you in its grips.
      3) Tell Support “reinstall due to software problems and product key not working.”    Adobe will give you codes to release your product key. " You can’t out horsepower this problem.
** >The "Clean-up Script" appears drastic, but it only removes CS5  and "takes out the trash.". Cyber-house cleaning on steroids.  Be mindful of instructions and follow to the letter.  Reboot. Run CS5 install.  Similar to a "clean install" of your OS, but CS5 is the "only-warez" affected.
Ahh...it will work again!!  Good luck  WileyC

  • Application Manager doesn't show all apps

When launching the Application Manager it starts up great but all apps does not show.
When logging in to my account at Adobe and click "Try" on Premiere Pro, the application manager opens up but there is no sign of Premiere.
Same thing with SpeedGrade and After Effects.
What's wrong? Why doesn't all apps show?

We had that problem and when I asked tech support he asked me whether I had a 64-bit OS. If you don't, Premiere Pro doesn't show up since it's a 64-bit application. If you do have a 64-bit OS, then you have a different problem and should probably contact tech support.
    Good luck!

  • Application manager wont launch

I just used the application manager earllier today to download CS6, now it wont launch. I dont want to reinstall. The application manager is signed in as a different login, not the login I used to purchase creative cloud, but I cant sign out of the application manager. Ive read the other threads on this problem but none of them were helpful. What can I do to get this thing going?

The Apps page https://creative.adobe.com/apps is currently unavailable. This is also impacting the list of applications in the Adobe Application Manager, and being able to download an application even if it is listed. We are actively investigating the issue to restore service as quickly as possible. We will provide updates on the Adobe Forums.

  • Can't launch Adobe Muse "Application Manager is Needed" but i can't isntall it, just purchased a license for a year in adobe muse :(

Hello, always that i close and then try to open adobe muse, i got an error that says that i need the "Application Manager" to launch it, so i went to download it. After i entered in the page that it provides ( www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager_es ) it says that if i'm an already member of creative cloud that i should follow a ling that it's there, wich redirects me to download the creative cloud app. . Ok so i download it and installed, and then it works at the first time, but when i close Adobe Muse the error happens again, so i went directly to download the application manager, but when i'm installing it another error pops up and says that it can't be installed, that i should download Adobe Support Advisor ... ... ok so i went to download it, but i just went to find out that the application has been discontinued ... i had this problem since i installed Adobe Muse, so, i just uninstalled Creative Cloud and then re-install it (took me around 30 mins. or so) ... but i don't want to do that everytime i need to use adobe muse, those errors shouldn't happen i was so excited because i got adobe muse ... here are some screens
    My laptop details:
Thanks guys, i really hope someone can help me, i'm just a biggener and i love this Adobe Muse

Hello, i tried them but didn't work.
The solution 1 never worked at the star
The solution 2 got a 0 when checking wth the command fsutil behavior query disable8dot3
I installed creative cloud again and it worked, but when i close muse everything starts to happen again ... the only solution for now is that i have to uninstall creative cloud and then re install it, or it wont let me use adobe muse. I downloaded an old version but, can't work with newest proyects so, it's not useful at all because i can't continue the projects in the updated one

  • Application manager quit working

The application manager on my recently purchased CS6 Design suite was working fine. It stopped working and now states all applications are up to date and they are not. Adobe announced up dates on Facebook and I came to the website to verify - several of my suite programs need updates. How does one get the application manager to start working again?

    Hello,
I have the CS6 Design and Web Premium. Photoshop is not up to date. I have the 13.0.1 version and not the 13.0.1.2 that Adobe announced on Facebook. There was a camera raw update also announced. I think the other programs may be up to date if the manual download page on the Adobe website shows all of the latest updates for CS6.
The update manager was working until just about the time of the 13.0.1.2 update, (it had been regularly updating).
Also -  the icon for the application manager suddenly disappeared from my desktop and a CC icon replaced it. I could find nothing on this website that said that the CC manager would be replacing the CS6 application manager. I did not use the CC manager - the terms that it required were different than my CS6 terms. I just uninstalled the CC manager.  Doing so made no difference - it was the same as before removing the CC - trying to update from inside any of the programs brings up the application manager and that reports "all applications are up to date."
I did not try to manually install the update from the Adobe website. It's suggested to go through the application manager and I sure can understand why - too many programs to update manually. My CS6 Suite was just purchased about 1 month ago.
The app manager is not being blocked by Norton - I did check that.
    I have Windows 8

  • OS X 10.8.2 - Disk I/O error triggered by Adobe Application Manager

    Hi all,
I've been experienceing some issues wince updating from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 when using Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 and CS6.
Since going onto 10.8.2, everytime I launch Adobe Application Manager to perfom updates and manage my installation my MacBook stops responding and I'm presented with beachball.
I can leave the system for an hour and the Adobe Application Manager finally launches, however its un-responsive.
I'm unable to force quite as the entire system stops repsonding.
I've been trying to pinpoint the exact cause, and without fail Adobe Application Manager triggers it.
Here is an extract from the system log that appears when I try to use Adobe Application Manager.
    29/10/2012 10:28:22.000 kernel[0]: CoreStorageGroup::completeIORequest - error 0xe00002ca detected for LVG "Munkey" (52A623F9-3A52-49A0-9055-DBBE3F0F6D46), pv 94322727-7BBC-4879-9AEC-0DC57100EA39, near LV byte offset = 123945537536.

The error keeps repeating until I power down the machine.
At first alarm bells are ringing as this suggests my HD is about to drop dead. However on another user account everything works perfectly including Adobe Application Manager.
    Things I've tried:
I've ran Disk utility from the recovery partition to both verify the disk and fix permissions. All OK
    S.M.A.R.T. is verified
Use a different user - Which seems to be fine
Uninstalled both CS6 and CS5.5 removing using the option to delete all preferences - No change
Used CS cleaner from Adobe to ensure every last trace of CS is removed - No change
Temporarily removed my users entire preference folder - No change
Rebuilt the Spotlight Index - No change
PRAM Reset Mulitple times - No change
Used ONYX to clear out Application Caches - No change
Verified using SeaTools under Windows 7 bootcamped - All OK
Just wondered if anyone else is having similar problems, or better yet has resolved it.

I've finally managed to spend a bit of time investigating further. Turns out that the PDApp.log file found in ~/Library/Logs/ was corrupted and also a couple of non related items awell. Possibly caused by hard reset or something whilst it was being written to?
I found this out by borrowing an external, the copied by entire user folder to the external using cp -R. This alerted me to any files that couldn't be copied across.
    cp: /Users/paul/Library/Logs/PDApp.log: Input/output error
    cp: /Users/paul/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary/Database/apdb/History.apdb: Input/output error
    cp: /Users/paul/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary/Masters/2012/06/07/20120607-205006/DSCF5046.JPG: Input/output error
It did take a while to delete these, then I emptied my trash, again it took a while. But finally I'm free of lockups and I can use Creative Suite again ;-)
Going to monitor my drive for a couple of months see if anything else corrupts. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for your input guys. Hope this helps other folks.

  • Why is the Adobe Application Manager in a language other than English?

I'm not sure if I accidently chose the wrong option when setting up my account, but the Adobe Application Manager seems to have all the text (other than product names) in what I think is German, not English. Is there a way to fix that for future downloads if needed?
Everything else seems to be working fine though.
    Gracias.

    Thanks!
Unfortunately, there are no prefs to change. (At least not in the usual spot where Preferences are supposed to be on a Mac running Snow Leopard…)

  • Update Failed - You are already running the Adobe Application Manager....

I'm on Mac OS 10.8.4. When I try to update InDesign CC to the latest version, the Adobe Application Manager launches and give me the following error:
    Update Failed
    Updates could not be applied
You are  already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates.
So, I quit the AAM, verify that it's not running in Activity Monitor and relaunch it... to get the same error message. I haven't found a solution online, so I'm hoping someone can help me get past this.

Rfahl have you tried rebooting and then applying the update again?  If so, and you still receive the same error, then you may want to try installing the update in Safe Boot mode.  You can find more details for starting up in Safe Boot at OS X Lion: Start up in safe mode - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4373.

  • Adobe application manager is in english, but app CS6 downloads in a foreign language.(?)

    hello,
trying to download CS6 but all i'm getting is what looks to me is dutch or swedish.
anyone know how to get it all back to english? frustrating first glance at CS6.

    hello,
    i'll snip in below:
    - What OS are you on and version thereof? (ex Window 7 64-bit, OSX 10.7.4, etc)
    i'm runing 10.7.4
    - What language is your OS set to?
my OS is set to english.
    - Is there a reason you chose English - (International) vs English (North America), just seemed odd?
i was trying the "other" english. neither work.
    - Is this a home computer or work computer on a network? just want to ensure you are an administrator
    home computer.
    - Does the language appear to be the same regardless of if you reisntall?
yes unfortuneatley. i un-installed the entire suite and kicked everything off my desk top, then went back through the download process again, downloaded all apps and it still came out foriegn.
now, here's is something -- when i got my first iphone, it thought i was a forienger and i had to go into my phone and set the language there. but when i turned on the iphone for the first time, it was another language.
so that adds a level of wierdness huh? (to fix it, i had to go onoine and look at a series of screenshots so i could tell where i was in the settings screens)
    - Which products have you installed already that you are seeing this in?
anyhting CS6 related. illustrator, photoshop and in-design. basically the suite.
thanks a ton for trying to help. i'll post a screen shot of the language.
WELL look at that. i just went to open the application manager and now its all in english. hahahahaha... 2 hours ago it wasn't... i'll report back!

  • Error updating application manager

I have CS6 and today joined CC for Team.
First time I have tryed to download photoshop from browser admin the system tried to launch application manager but don't work sayng I havent  admin rights.
So I have launched application manager from menu with right mouse run as administrator.
But window appear with "updating application manager", work until 80% and then report: Error, installation of application manager failed.
I am on Windows 64 bit, tried to restart win, deactivate firewall ecc but nothing...
    What can I do?
Can I unistall and reinstall application manager? If I uninstall  CS6 Master collection still work. I haven't found way for uninstall application manager.
    Thanks in advance
    Angelo Gaidano

Angelo I am very concerned by the fact that you received an error that you did not have admin rights.  Which Windows 64 bit are you using?  Have you tried temporarily disabling User Account Control?

  • Mac Photoshop CS6 Application Manager

I have a MacBook Pro using OSX 10.7.3. I installed CS6 (Beta) and entered my Adobe ID and password and activated online but I can't open CS6. I get the following message:  "Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged.
Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager."
I've insalled the Application Manager but I keep getting the same message when I try to open CS6. Has this problem been resolved. Can anyone provide any additional information or help either get CS6 to open or uninstall, since I can't even uninstall without the Application Manager working?
    Thank you for any help!

    It's ba-a-a-ck
There's definitely some sort of nasty interaction between the CS6 beta and my system.
Since AAM is involved in things like uninstall for some products I had to manually remove every file related to any Adobe product on my system. I then reinstalled all my released products and everything was fine.
Foolishly I decided to give the Pshop CS6 beta another try. Same result.
This is a troubling interaction. Can someone from Adobe comment? Is it something Adobe is aware of and working to fix? Is there an easier way to remedy the problem than wholesale deletion of files followed by reinstallation?
Or should those of us who have experienced the issue expect the same problem when CS6 is released?
