Application Server Configuration

Hi,
I have installed Oracle 10g R2 Application Server(IAS) on Windows 2003 32bit SP2 Server.
The order of installation done on Server 1: Infra, Metadata Repository, OID, IAS
I have requirement of separating few applications running on server 1 to another server "Server 2"
For Server 2 Installation\Configuration I am using Server 1 OID, so I dont have to create seperate home for Repository and OID, and the installation completed successfully.
After setting up forms\reports on Server 2, I am able to load Form in Server 2, but not able to generate Report, I get error FRM-41213, when I try to run report thru http://server2:7778/repdemo/runrepIAS.html ; it is asking for System User Authentication (Rep-51019: need System user authentication) when I enter OID credentials it logs in and runs the test succefully.
I guess it is OID issue as it is connecting to Server 1 for System Authentication, which the user cannot provide while running the report from the Forms online.
I tried to unhash (#) SINGLESIGNON and change it to SINGLESIGNON=NO, but it still don't work.
How can I disable the prompt by the reports for authentication.
Thanks,

Hi,
I tried to disable SSO from rwservlet.properties file, but when I run the report it still asks for OID credentials(ORCLADMIN), when I pass the credentials it executes the report.
What is the best possible way to disable this authentication.
Appreciate response on this soon.
Regards,

    Hi all,
I've found a solution to this problem. So far I've been trying the installation through MSTSC by taking administrative control (through /console option). Later, I tried my luck by installing it through Net Meeting which proved to be successful.
Hope you can try the same and ged rid of the installation issues.

  • Application Server Configuration with Multi-threaded Server

    Hi, friends:
We seems to have some problem with our OAS configuration. Even our Oracle8 server is set as MTS, when we query through the OAS, everytime one request won't be processed until the previous one finished. How to configure OAS to process queries in parellel?
Also, is there anyway that we can cancel a running query? Because, usually our query is very time-consuming. But even we stopped it apparently in the interface end, we know it is still running backend. Performance is bad.
    Thank you, Thank you.
    David

    Hi Balaji,
The Application server step by step guide is in the same guide as the CI installation guide. If you don't have it already you can download it from SAP Marketplace.

  • Application Server Configuration Issue - Issuing commands on the UNIX OS

Hi. The Forms folks thought it might be good to post my issue here as they believe my issue might be with the configuration of the application server. So here goes....
Hi. I'm running Forms 10g on UNIX (newbie). My first attempt at the Host command is this (in a when-button-click trigger):
    cl := 'ls -ltr > /ttms/flatfile/steve_test.txt';
    message (cl);
    message (cl);
    host(cl);
I know the code is running. My message displays the 'cl' variable exactly as I would execute it from the UNIX command line, but my text file is never created. There are no errors and the form runs as I would anticipate...just no file created.
If I issue the same command after having logged into the UNIX box then the file is created just fine.
Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?

    Hi Buechler,
I think indeed this a Forms forum issue. As you might know, the host command is executed on the server where Forms is installed, not the client. Also, the host command is executed as user ORACLE instead of Window's SYTEM user.
When you're doing your "cl := 'ls -ltr > /ttms/flatfile/steve_test.txt';". In which directory are you in? Do you have read-privileges to that directory? Do you have write-privileges to the /ttms/flatfile/ directory?
    Regards,
    Martin

  • Application Server 8.2 on RedHat Linux configuration problem

    Hello,
We have OS Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 4),
    sun java 1.5.0,
Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.2 (build b06-fcs),
    cpu : Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40GHz,
    ram : MemTotal: 2073848 kB,
    hdd : 2x SATA hdd 36Gb,
    NIC : 2x 1Gb/s LAN.
We have problem with standart Sun Application Server Configuration on Linux.
Even AdminGui application doesn't work properly.
    Some times, AdminGui application returns
Unabled to handle pre-compiled JSP '/jsp/LogDetail.jsp'. Expected pre-compiled classname: 'org.apache.jsp.jsp.LogDetail_jsp'.
Some time on browser we have "The page can not be displayed" exception and so on.
We deployed our JSF web application on this server and have same problems with our web application. In my opinion it looks like Linux or Sun Application Server misconfiguration, but I don' t know Idea where to look.
    Help me please.

As you already noticed, RH Linux 8.0 and 9.0 are not on the list of officially supported platforms for Application Server 8.1, but you should still be able to install and run on those Linux versions without major issues.
Follow generic Linux installation instructions, if you do run into some problems take a look at this article which describes some common workarounds, specifically section titled "Problem: My Linux distribution is not on the list of officially supported platforms for J2EE 1.4 SDK":

  • Install PeopleTools 8.53 with Linux Issue: Configure Application Server using psadmin

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing PeopleTools 8.53 Internet Architecture. Database Server is Oracle Database 11gR1. OS is Oracle Linux 5. I have installed JDK7, WebLogic 10.3.6, Tuxedo 11gR1 and PeopleTools 8.53 successfully into Oracle Linux 5. I have set up PeopleTools 8.53 Database Instance into Oracle Database Server successfully. Data Mover and Application Designer login into the Database Instance successfully. Web Server has been configured successfully.
Now, I confront the issue regarding configuring Application Server as below:
In Windows, I run /PT8.53/appserv/psadmin.exe to create a domain for the PeopleTools Database Instance successfully. But in Linux, the file /PT8.53/appserv/psadmin is light blue color and not executable, I try to run it in the following way:
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ ./psadmin
Its output: ./psadmin: error while loading shared libraries: libtrio64.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    My question is:
Can any folk tell me how to configure Application Server using psadmin in Linux for PeopleTools Internet Architecture ? How to solve the above issue ?
    Thanks.

    Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying. I run psadmin in the way below:
    [user@userlinux PT8.53]$ . ./psconfig.sh
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export TUXDIR=/home/user/Oracle/Middleware/tuxedo11gR1
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$TUXDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export PATH=$TUXDIR/bin:$PATH
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ ./psadmin
For Application Designer login, I use UserId PSADMIN and password PSADMIN, it works successfully.
For Data Mover Bootstrap Mode login, I use UserId MYNAME and password MYNAME, it works successfully.
When configure Application Server, I use UserID PSADMIN and password PSADMIN. But when boot the domain, the current server log file "APPSRV_0919.LOG" indicates that "Database Signon: Could not sign on to database PT853 with user PSADMIN."
Then I use UserId MYNAME and password MYNAME to configure the Application server again. I boot this domain again. Strangely, the log file APPSRV_0919.LOG gets the same error message "Database Signon: Could not sign on to database PT853 with user PSADMIN."
I purge the cache and clean IPC resources of this domain, and boot this domain again but get the same error message as above.
The content of current server log file /home/user/psft/pt/8.53/appserv/PT853/LOGS/APPSRV_0919.LOG is below:

You gave a totally correct answer. Unfortunately not relevant, though.
Now take a look at that answer in context of the question. The question is "given that the environment is 3 tier, and given that the client to the database is an application server, how do we get the information about the client to the application server - one tier further out?"
OP - this is a known problem with current application server configurations and applications. The only current way of providing that info is for the app server to capture and pass that info on. An easy way to pass it on, available to the app developer, is to use the DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO package.
Perhaps one day the WebLogic Server folk will see fit to make that transparent. ;-)

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to Install Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 on 32 bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 (Tikanga)
When running the Installer, I use the -ignoreSysPrereqs option because 10.1.3.1.0 is only supported with Linux Server 4, I believe. But I know people have installed it on Linux 5.7 and 5.8
anyways, Oracle application server gets installed and asks me to run root.sh. I run root.sh and then hit the OK button to proceed,
At this point, it tries to run the configuration assistant and fails right away with the following error:

Can you post the full stacktrace?
Is your Admin server running/functioning? Are you able to log into it the WL Admin Console at that same IP and port?
True, 7001 is admin port which is what LCM expects.
LCM interacts with managed servers via the admin server.

Any help from you, I would be very apreciated...
    Thank you

According to the log file, the server startup is failing and therefore you can not access localhost:8080.
The reason for startup failure is that JMX Connector service within application server could not bind to the address 172.16.3.211:8686. This could be caused by several things, one of them being firewall not allowing it.
A workaround would be to open up application server configuration file INSTALL_DIR/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml and add an entry of the form
    <jvm-options>-Djava.rmi.server.hostname=localhost</jvm-options>
The entry will have to added under the java-config element.
This will make Java RMI use "localhost" for binding remote server side objects(this assumes that your firewall allows creation of localhost connections)

  • Define install folder for Application server

    Hi,
in TOOLS 8.50 I'm creating an AS domain. But it is created in C:\Documents and Settings\Adm
    inistrateur\psft\pt\8.50\appserv\ :
    Creating domain...
    Copying application server configuration files...
    Copying [F:\psoft50\PSPT850\appserv\small.cfx] to [C:\Documents and Settings\Adm
    inistrateur\psft\pt\8.50\appserv\ALHR9050\psappsrv.cfg]
    Stripping Annotations...

    inistrateur\psft\pt\8.50\appserv\ALHR9050\psappsrv.cfx]
    Copying Jolt repository file...
Domain created. Why ? How can I define install folder ?
    Thanks.

That's because you did not set the environment variable PS_CFG_HOME.
It is new from PT8.50, when this is not set, the domain configuration files are going into the user's folder.
If you ever want to find your domains under PS_HOME as before, you should set this variable equal to the PS_HOME it should go to.
    Nicolas.
