Server Configuration in Linux

hi...
I am trying to configure LC with weblogic in Linux... In application server configuration, i gave Host Name as the machine IP and port as 7001 but its throwing an error ALC-LCM-100-011... Application Server host or port may be invalid.
Please help me..
Thanks
Ambika

Can you post the full stacktrace?
Is your Admin server running/functioning? Are you able to log into it the WL Admin Console at that same IP and port?
True, 7001 is admin port which is what LCM expects.
LCM interacts with managed servers via the admin server.

    Please help me with Vhost configuration for Adobe Media Server running under linux.
    I was running a media sharing website for which I wanted to use Adobe Media Server.
    To use, AMS, I disabled the already installed Apache server and installed AMS along with the built in Apache server. I could successfully install AMS and could login to AMS Admin Console through my IP number.
    My existing website, www.mydomain.com is having its contents located at:
    /home/mydomain/public_html
    (Directory created under the old version of Apache not bundled with AMS)
    Users will be uploading their videos, which will get transcoded and will be delivered to the website visitors in the existing scenario.
    To use this website with AMS, this is what I did:
    I created a folder for my domain, www.mydomain.com as below
    /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/www.mydomain.com
    Copied Application.xml and Vhost.xml from /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/   and pasted them in /opt/adobe/ams/conf/_defaultRoot_/www.mydomain.com
    In the Application.xml file there are 2 entries:
    <Alias name="mydomain.com"></Alias>
    <AppsDir>${/home/mydomain/public_html}</AppsDir>
    Please help me with further steps to be completed:
    Do I need to create a separate VirtualHost entry in the Apache installed with AMS?
    If yes, can I specify already existing document root for my website (/home/mydomain/public_html) or do I need to create a separate folder under webroot/Apache ?
    If yes to point 2 above, then do I need to copy all the existing contents from /home/mydomain/public_html to the newly created folder ?
    I hope, I can serve all my static contents like html pages and php and media like video/audio. In that case do I need create alias to my Media/Alias folder or AMS will automatically start streaming when a video/audio is requested ?
    What other steps do i need to complete?
    Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Issue in 11.1.2 Essbase configuration on Linux 5.5 64Bit - Config hangs

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to do a fresh install and configure of EPM 11.1.2 in a distributed environment:
    1. Oracle database version 11.20as repository on Linux server 1(linux 5.5, 64 bit) installed and working fine.
    2. I installed and configured HSS on a Windows 2008 server SP1 64 bit - configured following: common settings, database,OCM,deploy to Application Server - Success. and I am able to open the HSS front end and check users,groups etc.
    Now, I installed Essbase server,EAS server,ES server,EIS server on Linux server 2(5.5,64 bit).
    The Problem is: When I am configuring Linux server 2(All the above mentioned Essbase components) -
    Configurator asks for "Previously configured SS database"- I provide the details
    next -> it asks for ES,EAS database schema -> I provide the details
    next -> asks for weblogic domain information -> 2 options there -> I choose- > Deploy to an existing domain -> All the required info was already there(Windows server above)
    BUT, when I click "next" -> the screen just Hangs and does not go anywhere. I waited for 1 hr and nothing happened.
    So, I cancelled it and started the config again, but again the same issue.
    the message on the linux server console are:
    "HBR Configuration has not been initialized. Make sure you have logged in sucessfully and there are no exceptions in the HBR log file.
    ConfigurationManager not available"
    and No logs are generated under /oracle/Middleware/user_projects/epmsystem1/diagnostics/logs/config
    any help on this will be greatly appreciated!!
    this is a bit urgent ..please reply.
    thanks,
    Ankit

    Can we even have the following landscape?
    1. HSS,OHS,Weblogic server,workspace - On a Windows 2008 server
    2. Essbase server,EIS server,EAS server,EIS server - on a Linux server
    3. Oracle database on another linux server.
    my questions is, can we have the installation and configuration done considering the OS (wid and Linux), as described in points 1&2 above.
    I guess I read somewhere, that all the web applications can be deployed to either all windows or to all Linux OS servers? - Is it correct?

    Best Regards,
    Fani

    Hi,
    the first thing you need to check is if you are able to print from the OS using the same lpr command that reports is using and using the printer queue being used when you submitted the report request.
    Try to print any file from command line using lpr and your print queue \\askit\PRN01F8. If this does not work then that needs to be fixed from the OS standpoint before running report to printer.
    Hope it helps

    Clues anyone?

    I'm having a similar issue, and have opened a TAR for the problem. According to Oracle, it's the same error as the one received when the username is over 8 characters. Being that this is not the case in my environment, they are scratching their heads.
    The only thing we can see as a possible user-name type issue is that the username and the group name are the same, though this is probably not the issue.
    I'll post anything I find out.

  • Installation hangs at 'Calendar Server Configuration Assistant'

    Hi,
    I'm installing the OCS Release 2 Middle Tier component on a Red Hat Linux AS2.1 server. The 9iAS Infrastructure is also on this server while the Information Store is located on a separate Linux server.
    The installation of the Middle Tier is hanging at the 'Calendar Group Configuration Assistant' - the last entry in the installation log is as follows:
    ===*** Start of install log snippet ***===
    Configuration assistant "Calendar Group Configuration Assistant" succeeded
    Result code for launching of configuration assistant is: 0

    This has happened twice now! Does anyone have any clues as to how to get beyond this point in the installation?
    Many thanks,
    Neil W. Garside

    Hey I got this, are a few bugs around this, one you unix username and group name have to be under 8 characters, secondly if your host name of you LDAP server is over 24 Character long it wont like it. If u edit your unison.ini and put in the IP address instead of the host name under the [LDAP] section. Oh and remember to set LD_LIBRARY_PATHS before running unistart and include the $ORACLE_HOME/ocal/bin as well.

  • Siebel Server Configuration failed

    I am able to configure Siebel gateway name server, siebele enterprise server,
    but when i configure Siebel Server it shows execution failed...
    Do i need ti install any language pack Siebel Server configuration? May be that is reason why i am not able to configure Siebel Server... If you think some another problem let me know...
    Also i am configuring Siebel 8.0 for my oracleAS adapter 10.1.2.0.2.. is it fine?
    Please help me out...
    Your reply will be very much appreciated...
    Thanx in advance...

    On another note, I thought Siebel 8.0 needs to use a specific version of Oracle AS for Linux..
    For all others the minimum is AS 10.1.3... You might have problems on your SWSE install.

  • Host server configuration

    Hi
    I would like to publish my blog which created with iweb.
    My friend has a linux server and he gives my a domain but he want to know how to set up the server.
    I didn't find asnwear of this question.
    Could anybody send me a discription about the linux server configuration.
    thanks

    You friend has to inquire in the linux community to learn how to do that.
    After he has learned it, he has to provide you with the information to publish to that server.
    You need the serveraddress, username and password, and a pathname, if required.
    While your friend is learning, you can practice on your own computer :
    http://www.wyodor.net/Tutorials/iWebDemo/sFTP.html
    iWeb is not involved.

  • Dedicated or shared  server configuration

    Hi all,
    Good day...We have a 10204 rac db running on a linux server. Our concurrent connection are more than 1000..Is that good to have a shared server configuration or we can continue with dedicated server configuration...

    In reality, all Oracle databases are capable of supporting both shared AND dedicated connections at the same time.
    So perhaps the question becomes:
    Based on the workload (typical transaction style) of the connections, how many shared and how many dedicated connections are required?
    To answer that YOU need to understand your workload.

  • Siebel Gateway Name Server Configuration Wizard returns "Execution failed"

    Hi,
    I am installing Siebel 8.1.1.1 on Linux platform and now having problem while trying to configure Siebel Gateway Name Server.
    Steps done:
    1) DB instance prepared
    2) Created Siebel installation image
    3) Installed Siebel server and configured Gateway name server (the wizard started automatically as part of the installation). Skip configuration of Enterprise and SWSE Logical profile
    4) Ran DB Configuration Wizard for the primary language - successfully. Import repository-add language - successfully.
    5) Trying to Wizard "Configure Enterprise" - failed with "Execution failed"
    Here I thought that probably Gateway Nameserver was not configured and decided to remove the Gateway and create it from scratch.
    Unfortunately this time the Gateway configuration failed. Also with message"Execution failed"
    Here are the errors I got in the log files sw_cfg_util*.log

    Applies to:
    +Siebel CRM - Version: 8.1.1 SIA [21111] and later   [Release: V8 and later ]+
    Linux x86
    Symptoms
    Delete the "Siebel Server" once and then create a new "Siebel Server" via Siebel Server Configuration Wizard on Linux, it failed with message "Execution Failed".
    The error on sw_cfg_util_xx.log is as follows,

    Reproduce steps:
    - confirm that siebel server was created before, and is stopping.
    - create sh env and enter the following command to remove the Siebel Server.
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)+
    +$ . ./cfgenv.sh+
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)/bin+
    +$ ./ssincfgw+
    - select "3 - Remove Existing Configuration".
    - complete the configuration wizard.
    - enter the following command to create the Siebel Server.
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)+
    +$ . ./cfgenv.sh+
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)/bin+
    +$ ./ssincfgw+
    - select "1 - Create New Configuration".
    - continue inputs to finish and execute the configration.
    +==> you'll find "Execution Failed".+
    Cause
    AddSrvrRegistryEntry section shown in the log is the command for registering the Windows Service, and it is no need to execute on Linux env. However, it is executed and it failied.
    Solution
    You can do either of follows,
    +(1) Uninstall and Install the Siebel Server again.+
    +(2) The section to execute the Windows registeration command is specified on $(SiebelServerRoot)/admin/common.scm, line 2475-2477.+
    +[Step]+
    Name = AddSrvrRegistryEntry
    Type = RunProg %%SiebelRoot%%%%OSDirSeparator%%bin%%OSDirSeparator%%siebctl ' -r %%SiebelRoot%% -q -S siebsrvr -i "%%SiebelEnterprise%%:%%SiebelServer%%" -a -g "-g %%SiebelGateway%% -e %%SiebelEnterprise%% -s %%SiebelServer%% -u %%Username%%" -e %%Password%% '
    So, delete the AddSrvrRegistryEntry section from common.scm, and execute Configuration Wizard again.

  • Server Configuration Error

    I'm setting up 10.4.5 Server for the first time, and I've managed to get all of my services running correctly except the mail server. I've searched the discussions and tried some of the suggestions without success.
    Briefly, I cannot receive mail from outside of my network. I can send mail out, I can send and receive mail within the network, the email client authenticates and checks the accounts, and I can access everything via WebMail (thanks to the suggestions here). Multiple tests from DNStuff haven't been helpful to me.
    I'm adding the postconf -n results as well as a rejected email and some log entries.

    I know there is a lot of info, and I greatly appreciate the time and effort of anybody willing to look at this. I'm trying to be complete with my first post.
    Thanks in advance.

    Well, spamhaus is listed twice, the first time incorrectly as noted.
    You can use the "mapsrbldomains = " syntax, but your Postfix logs themselves will tell you this is now deprecated.
    Agreed though: a good idea to separate the rbl options on their own line.
    smtpdclientrestrictions = permit_mynetworks
    rejectrblclient sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org rejectrblclient dnsbl.sorbs.net
    If you indent with whitespace then the line will not be interpreted as a new restriction but part of the prior one.
    So you could even format it as:
    smtpdclientrestrictions = permit_mynetworks
    rejectrblclient sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org
    rejectrblclient dnsbl.sorbs.net
    If you're serious about taking full advantage of the anti-UCE abilities of Postfix, I suggest reading at http://www.postfix.org/docs.html
    starting at UCE/Virus. Ignore linux and other OS-specific tips, or proceed with caution.
    http://jimsun.linxnet.com/misc/postfix-anti-UCE.txt
    http://www.mengwong.com/misc/postfix-uce-guide.txt
    http://www.mengwong.com/misc/postfix-uce-guide.txt
    http://sbserv.stahl.bau.tu-bs.de/~hildeb/postfix/
    Of course, use at your own risk. But if used judiciously, also your benefit. Backup all config files before editing.

  • SAP Router configuration on Linux platform (error in start script)

    Hello gurus,
    I´m trying to setup the saprouter on Fedora v14 (32 bits).
    I did all the configure with root user. The problem is when I run the script that starts the saprouter service, it show me the following error:
    [root@saprouter sap]# pwd
    /usr/sap/saprouter
    [root@saprouter saprouter]# saprouter_start
    /usr/sap/saprouter/saprouter_start: line 12: syntax error near unexpected token `|'
    'usr/sap/saprouter/saprouter_start: line 12: `        | tee -a $LOGFILE &
    The content of this script, has the following sintaxes:
    # Start saprouter
    # You can automatically start SAProuter when you start the system. In UNIX for example, you would change file /etc/rc.
    # saprouter CN=saprouter, OU=0001214237, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE sapserv2
    SRDIR=/usr/sap/saprouter
    LOGFILE="usr/sap/saprouter/saprouter_log"
    if [ -f $SRDIR/saprouter ] ; then
            echo "Starting SAP Router" | tee -a $LOGFILE
    $SRDIR/saprouter -r -R $SRDIR/saprouttab -G $LOGFILE -W 60000 -K "p:CN=saprouter, OU=0001214237, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE"
            | tee -a $LOGFILE &
    fi
    The strange of this is I already did this type of configuration on Linux with the same scripts... but in red hat enterprise linux x86_64 and in there it works perfectly!
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/4f/992ce8446d11d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm
    Can you help me please in way to solve this problem...?!
    Best regards,
    João Dimas - Portugal

    Hello Clebio,
    First al all, please don´t forget to read my previous message.
    I´m writing again because I made other tests that I would like to show you...!
    1- In my previous message I mentioned an error when I ran directly the command # saprouter -r... and as you recomend, I typed the "ldd saprouter", the output of this show that libstdc+.so.5: was not found! I already solve this issue, I installed the compat-libstdc+ with # yum install compat-libstdc++. So... now when I run that "ldd saprouter" the result is:
    [root@saprouter saprouter]# ldd saprouter
         linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0x003a9000)
         libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00911000)
         librt.so.1 => /lib/librt.so.1 (0x00918000)
         libstdc++.so.5 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5 (0x00110000)
         libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00923000)
         libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x00966000)
         libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x008f4000)
         libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00768000)
         /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00747000)
    It seems that is solved! Is not it?
    2- After that correction, I ran again the # saprouter -r but now it show me the following error:
    [root@saprouter saprouter]# saprouter -r
    trcfile  dev_rout
    no logging active
    *** ERROR => invalid lines in './saprouttab', see 'dev_rout' [nirout.cpp   8006]
    ... next, what I did was, I opened the dev_rout:
    trc file: "dev_rout", trc level: 1, release: "700"

    ... and I also checked my saprouttab in there I see...:

    What´s the problem!??! I don´t get it!! My God... I don´t understand, all the entries in saprouttab seems well to me! Can you verify this please?! It´s correct, isn´t it?
    Can you help me!?
    Thank you

  • Siebel chart server configuration

    Hi Experts,
    After installing chart server on siebel servers, we configure the parameters DSChartServer and DSDChartImageFormat under ServerDataSrc profile.  Is it possible to have multiple chart servers installed on different siebel servers on the same enterprise and have them configured under ServerDataSrc profile parameters?  We need this clarity to check if we can setup high availability for chart servers or not.  Incase one chart server is down then will other chart server be able to pick up the load and proceed further?
    Thanks,
    Diwakar

    Hi,
      I have installed Siebel 8.1.1.10 binary on linux machine.
    Database is 11.2.0.3
    Oracle Client is 11.1.0.
    grantuser.sql runned also.
    I have sourced cfgenv.sh fine before starting wizard for gateway server .
    I have not configured gateway server yet. Starting the first step as Configuring gateway Name Server. Then i select Next, then selected port 2320 as default one. Then Next to provide response file.I have left it blank as its nit mandatory. After next step, I am getting Error
