Application Server Redirect one Application to a static web page

We have an OAS installation that contains two applications. One contains both Portal and Oracle Forms components whilst the second is purely Oracle Forms. We want to redirect users to a static web page if an application is down for maintainance.
It has been easy to modify httpd.conf to add lines to redirect the elements of the application that uses portal. The elements that use Oracle forms seem to use MOD_OC4J and I cannot redirect calls to these forms.
I have tried a redirect based on /forms/frmservlet?config=app1 but this did not work as /form/servlet requests are handled by redirecting to MOD_OC4J.
Looking in Forms.Conf I found some lines where the frmservlet is mapped:
AliasMatch ^/forms/frmservlet(.*) "/servlet.frm"
Would it be possible to create regular expressions to either allow all /forms/frmservlet?config=XXXX through except for app1 as an example? The plan would be to comment these lines out until required and then activate them by removing the comment # and bouncing the Forms element of OAS.
If this idea is not reasonable could anyone suggest a better way that does not require connection to the database nor the need to start up the forms runtime within the client browser?

<cflocation> will always give you that result, as it
has no concept of the browser window(s) or frame(s).
i don't know if the <meta> has a concept of frames or
not.
you could always use a JavaScript solution, which would be:
new window:
<script type="text/javascript">
<cfoutput>window.open("#newURL#");</cfoutput>
</script>
same window, breaking frameset:
<script type="text/javascript">
<cfoutput>top.location.href="#newURL#";</cfoutput>
</script>
i think that'll do it. been a while :)

  • Is it possible to serve a few plain old simple static HTML pages with ITS?

    Hi,
I am looking for a way to serve a few plain old simple static HTML pages (together with some javascript and image files) with ITS?
The HTML page should be served unaltered.
    Is this possible somehow?
    Thanks,
      Wolfgang

    Hello Wolfgang.
Yes, that is possible.  What ITS are you using, Integrated or Standalone?
With Standalone you could just put the static HTML anywhere in the web server directory.
With Integrated ITS you will need to upload it to the Integrated ITS and then publish your static HTML.  There is an example of this in the SYSTEM service.  Just go to SE80 > SYSTEM Internet Service > Topic SL > Mime Objects > PAGE > aboutbox.html.

Can anyone assist as to what is getting wrong?
I have a doubt in specifying the parameters "dumpFolder" & "templateFolder" in catalogtool XCM settings, We need to pass full path of the server directory here. please suggest what exactly has to be passed here.
Currently i am passing values like this "/catalog/dump"& "/catalog/templates".
    We are running on CRM-7.0
    Thanks in advance.

  • Has anyone used Muse to create a static web page that gets translated into Joomla?

Has anyone used Muse to create a static web page (html and xml) that gets translated into a Joomla template?

Obviously I am out of my league. I am not a programer and I thought this would be something simple, but you guys are talking over my head.
I thought I could create a simple link to the Happy.rdp and it would run...but as mentioned, you can't do that.
What I have is a java script with a bunch of parameters (see below) that creates a pull-down menu. I was hoping I could list the names of the servers, click on the one I want to connect to, and I would get the log-in screen. That is my goal.
I have a "Happy.rdp" icon on my desktop and I click on that and the remote connection starts. I have opened "Happy.rpd" in notepad and it has all the parameters (such as the IP address and stuff) that allow me to connect.

  • Can you install the Office Web Application Server on one of the App Servers for SharePoint 2013?

    Hi,
Is it possible to run Office Web Application Server (shows preview images for docs and allows Notepad, Word, Excel to work etc) on one of the SharePoint 2013 App Servers. I don't want to have to create a new server. It talks about setting
    up a farm.
Better still how the feck do you switch this functionlity off - I always remember it being a pain in the arse. We accidentally ran the first part of the configuration on one of the SharePoint App Servers only to find out our subscription does not
have this download (bar stewards changed this Nov 2014 - just after started contract).
Help would be much appreciated as close to go live
    Thanks.
    John.

    Hi John,
Please reboot the server at the very beginning and test the issue again.
    Quote from you:
Problem is I get Internet Web Page cannot display the webpage everytime I click in a excel document, powerpoint document, notebook link or the preview
Please post the url in browser address here.
If you just executed the command below:
    Add-WindowsFeature Web-Server,Web-Mgmt-Tools,Web-Mgmt-Console,Web-WebServer,Web-Common-Http,Web-Default-Doc,Web-Static-Content,Web-Performance,Web-Stat-Compression,Web-Dyn-Compression,Web-Security,Web-Filtering,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-App-Dev,Web-Net-Ext45,Web-Asp-Net45,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-ISAPI-Filter,Web-Includes,InkandHandwritingServices
It just install some windows feature to the current server, we can find it should be done before installing several server products.
Could you please verify if the command you executed is the same as the one above?
You could also go to local disk and check if there is OfficeWebApps folder under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\?
If you check in Control Panel > Programs, is there any feature related to Office Web Apps?
If you have confirmed there is no Office Web Apps feature installed, please go to SharePoint document library settings, and make the document to open in client, does it work?

  • Migrate Sun One application server from One Server to Another

    Dear all,
We need to migrate the Sun ONE application from Sun Ultar server to Sun Fire 210. Please share with me if any one done the migration.
    Thanks & Regards
    Arun

I am sorry. My question was poorly worded after some hours of frustration. What I am really trying to do is develop a base virtual machine snapshot with Sun Web Server Loaded and a base set of applications.
When the need arises, I need to deploy another VM and start it up. There seems to be some issue with the host name of the VM and the administration server, or something. It is my impression that as longs as I have everything contained in one directory like /webserver, I should be able to copy everything to a new machine and start it up. I know I need the listeners listening on all ip addresses and the jdk being used would need to be in that directory as well. Is there anything I am missing here or that I need to watch out for?

  • Deploy the BC4J JSP Applications to Sun ONE Application Server 7.0

    Hi
I am new for the Jdeveloper 9.0.3, I felt that the OC4J is quite useful, but I am not sure if it can be deployed on Sun ONE application server 7.0 (Our team are using Sun ONE Application server 7.0 as our J2EE AS). If it can, please tell me the deploy procedures, Thanks in advance!
    Regards

I'm not sure if we've tried it under 7.0, although we did under 6.5 a short while back. If you write a BC4J based J2EE application, it should be able to be deployed across Application Servers (TSS just added Sun One 7 to their cluster)
You can take a look at the 6.5 procedures for now, and just do the same as migrating from 6.5 to 7.0.

  • Oracle 9i Application Server+Oracle 8i EE+ Forms on the web Very urgent

    Hi,
I have correctly install Oracle 9i Application Server and Oracle 8i Entreprise Edition on Windows 2000. What are the following steps to follow in order to run a form on the web. example: test.fmx?
    Thanks in advance.
    null

If your web server is working and the forms server is running type:
    http://ip addr:port/dev60html/runform.htm
You need to put the ip address or name of your server in and the port number apache is running on (leave blank if this is 80).
This gives you the Oracle Forms start screen.
    cheers

  • Application Server to deploy applications over the internet

    Hi everyone,
I am in the middle of a project where i created a couple of jsp files that use the oracle application server mapviewer api to display a map in jdeveloper. Then i deployed those jsps to oracle application server and can access the file on the computers from the same network. But I want to be able to go home and open a browser and access those files as well. Can someone please guide me as to what do I have to do to achieve that. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Avinash.

    Look at this thread.
Re: How to make application to be avilable over the internet ?
Another option might be logging in remotely to the network of your company.

  • Best Application Server Specificatin for Application Environments

    Hi Guys,
I am juz more than curious and excited to know about using an Application Server which would be best suited for development environ and other phases (Testing and Production). Anyone plz do lemme know how do I go about in giving app server specification for a web application's (as heavy as 1 lac hits / users) load management and performance optimization.
Hope I am clear with my query.....Please do help me out in answering my query...
    Thanks in Advance
    Kishore

    Hi,
Since Sun App Server is a Sun Product it would be better if you go for it because of comaptibility. However I have worked with Tomcat also and didn't face any problem. Since you have told you are a newbie it would be better if you start on Tomcat a handling tomcat is much easier as compared to Sun App Server.

  • Move just wikis to new Lion server (redirect one virtual host)

I have a bunch of services on my Mac Pro with Snow Leopard Server, including file sharing, VPN, subversion, wikis, several websites, a few webapps, etc.  I don't want to upgrade that server right now, but I'd like to try upgrading the wikis to Lion Server and Wiki Server 3.
How could I move the wiki's to Lion Server on another machine?  They are all accessed through a seperate virtual host.
We only have one public IP right now (I maybe could get a second public IP but don't want to just for this.)  Everything hits my router (dd-wrt device, so quite configurable) which sends port 80 (and most other ports) to my snow leopard server.
One idea would be to have the router redirect another port (8080 or something) to the new lion server, and then put a redirect page on the original wiki address (port 80) to redirect over to 8080, which would then go to the other server.  But that's not really ideal because then the users of my wiki would see it on a new port and a lot of times ports other than 80 are blocked by firewalls (not my firewall, but firewalls closer to my users.)
So does anyone have an other ideas on how to redirect the traffic of one virtual host to another internal machine behind NAT?
Separate question: any experience migrating a wiki from Wiki Server 2 to Wiki Server 3?  Did it work well?
    John

The best way to do this is to take the contents of /Library/Collaboration and put it in a location accessible from your newly set up Lion install.  In Server.app, enable Wiki, and run:
         sudo wikiadmin migrate -r /Path/To/Library/Collaboration
After that, start the wiki and you should be good to go.  You should bind your Lion server to the same Directory as the Snow Leopard server, to ensure permissions and users carry across successfully.

  • Oracle Forms on IBM Web Sphere Application Server  and BEA Application Serv

    Hi,
Can we run Oracle Forms on top of IBM web phere or Bea application servers?..
If possible, please give the steps that we need to follow to make it run on them

I've seen this asked before and the general repsonse was : don't do it , it's not worth the hassle. Apart from anything else you'll still have to pay the license fees for the Oracle Application server ....
