Application timing out

What is the parameter in either the init.ora or listener.ora file that can be set to time out a session?

V:
If you are looking for "dead" client detection, you need to set sqlnet.expire_time in sqlnet.ora. The documentation in the files says:
Possible values: 0-any valid positive integer! (in minutes)
Default: 0 minutes
Recommended value: 10 minutes
Purpose: Indicates the time interval to send a probe to verify the
client session is alive (this is used to reclaim watseful
         resources on a dead client)
Supported since: v2.1HTH

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) • I get a 'application timed out' message when trying to download the new iOS

How do I extend the time it takes for download before the application times out?

Tried that and it seemed to be helping, but I was only able to get up to about 300 MB downloaded before it timed out again.

  • BSP Application Timing Out

Hello all, I have a BSP application that runs successfully when processed all at once.  But if you take more than a couple minutes between clicks, it times out.  I found many ICM parameters for this but I am not sure how they all work together. The "icm/keep_alive_timeout" is set to a system default of 60 seconds.  I'm not sure if this is causing the issue or not.  Does anyone have any advice or know of a blog or something that talks about time outs and BSP processing?
I tried to code for this by writing all pertinent information to cookies but I can't read the cookies after the r/3 session is terminated.  I have the expire date set to one day in the future so it should be there.  I see it in table SSCOOKIE but I cannot read it.  My session id remains the same so I am not sure of the problem.
    Any help is appreciated, Troy

    Hi,
You can decide how long the session can last if you double click on the app node within SICF. Under the service options, you can define a session timeout.
the profile parameter rdisp/plugin_auto_logout will otherwise clear things after 30 minutes.

  • Application Server Session timed out (-11) (lack of debug in internal ITS)

    Dear Sirs,
I get the error message below, when I try to run a IAC through internal ITS. The IAC worked for a while (<30 minutes), and then suddenly this error appeared.
I can see that this error message has been asked about previously, but then in connection with statefull/stateless BSP applications (e.g "Session timed out thread", on this forum May 31 2005).
In this thread the solution is apparently to alter the 'rdisp/plugin_auto_logout', is this the case for us as well?
I have read Error handling using the ICM , but not able to actually beeing able to pinpoint the problme.
All our other IAC are working it is only a problem with one of them. The problem is still valid even if I log on with different user, and the error is still there now even after two hours. The problem transaction is a altered version of the WSTA, and I am able to get the first screen where I enter the store number.
Any tips or suggestions to pinpoint the error?

    Dear Sirs,
The error has been solved. It was a matter of an illegal input sendt to the RetailHeaderFunction.
However, this makes way for another question.
On the standalone ITS, it was possible to get error messages which indicated where the code contained errors, when it was runned.
How is it possible to make the internal ITS gives better feedback (errors?), and show where the error is?

  • Logout has timed out because the application Mail failed to quit.

Hello world... (Mac world that is)
The message says more "Logout has timed out because the application Mail failed to quit. To try again, quit Mail and choose Log Out from the Apple menu."
I tried everything. Still does not let me shut down.
Other programs will not shut down at this time, including Finder. I also know that the Time Machine icon has been spinning for over an hour. So I imagine we are in a loop of sorts.
Unfortunately, I have had similar troubles before that I did not record. So I figure I start now and see if somebody out there can help me.
    Peace!
    Chopo

I'm having the same problem (can't logout, shut down or restart), but the referenced solution doesn't seem to apply. I do not get a "Cannot connect to server" message, I just get a "Logout has timed out" message. It seemed to happen after an automatic software update that was supposed to involve a restart, but it hasn't been able to restart since.
Can you please clarify, what is meant by "delete the AutoLaunchedApplicationDictionary, which is located under the root node" (with reference to file loginwindow.plist)?
This is what the loginwindow.plist file looks like now:
    bplist00Ñ!AutoLaunchedApplicationDictionary¢ÒTPathTHide-/Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HPEventHandler.app/Ò _N/Library/Application Support/Hewlett-Packard/Software Update/HP Scheduler.app//27
I was at the genius bar earlier, and they said I need to 'archive and install' in order to 'reset the OS'... but there's got to be a better answer than that, no? Perhaps this plist thing? I'm surprised that even powering off the imac doesn't reset anything... it just comes back the way it was. I'm supposed to bring the 25 inch imac in to the mac store for surgery (archive and install), but seeing several similar cases on this discussion forum, without archive and install identified as the clear solution, I'm in search of a second opinion... or any suggestion for how to simply make this work the way it was before? Is it 10.5.4 that is causing this? Should I go back to 10.5.3?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

  • Timed out, server application never registered to receive message

Hello. So, It's been a while since I last used iMovie, and now I'm having a very difficult time of it sharing to anything or even saving a version to disk. It won't even save to Theater! Each time I do, it gives me the exact same cryptic message: ""timed out, server application never registered to receive message" - and that's even when saving to disc, and not saving to ANY exterior source.
Since I can't find any mention of this message on Google or Duck Duck Go, I am calling upon alla y'all. So, the details on my system:
    Macbook Pro, 13-inch (early 2011)
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
    4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
318 gigs of storage, and yeah, it's about 3.8 gigs left, even with an 500 gig external hard drive running concurrently..
    Version of iMovie is 10.0.6.

I am experiencing the same issue and it's getting annoying. I can't logout or shutdown normally.
iMac, 24 inch, 2 GB RAM, 10.5.7, 500 GB drive with lotsa space left.
Here is the message in system.log when I try to logout and the dock stays as described above:
    Jul 30 09:17:40 new-host loginwindow761: ERROR | WSActivateApp | SetFrontProcess({0, 1655188}) returned error -600. Unable to activate process.
Have tried the same fixes as above (repair disk, repair permissions, archive & install). No joy. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • SipSnoop, Lync 2010, Application not authorized, Registration time-out. Timed-out?

    Hi,
    I
am trying to run the SipSnoop sample application which came with the Lync 2010 Server SDK.  Everytime I click on "Connect to Server", the application hangs for a while and then comes back with:
    Application not authorized.
    Registration Time-out. Timed-Out? [True]Response?[False]
Any ideas what might be going on?
    Thanks,
    Prem

I'm getting the same error but unable to resolve it.
    First I added the MSPL,
    New-CsServerApplication -Identity "Service:EdgeServer:servername.com/AppName" -Uri "http://www.companyname.com/OCS/AppName" -Enabled $true -Critical $false
After that I'm trying to start the application and see the following error in the console,
Exception ToString:Microsoft.Rtc.Sip.UnauthorizedException: Application not authorized. ---> System.ApplicationException: Registration Time-out. Timed-Out? [True] Response? [False]
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
       at Microsoft.Rtc.Sip.ServerAgent.Initialize(ApplicationManifest manifest, Boolean scriptOnly)
and in the Event log I see this,
An exception occured that cannot be handled.
         Message: Application not authorized.
         Exception: Microsoft.Rtc.Sip.UnauthorizedException
I've tried all the following options,
    - Tried with both the Local Administrator and also the Domain Administrator.
    - Both of them added to all the "RTC.." groups like "RTC Server applications".
    - I also added the Domain Administrator to the RTCUniversalServerAdmins and RTCUniversalUserAdmins
    - Enabled MSMQ with Active Directory integration on both the Registrar as well as the Edge Server(Note that this managed mspl is a edge server plugin).
    - Made sure that the app uri is the same in the .am file and the commands and program
    Please help.

  • Application Server Timed Out (-11) with Cmd=u0092log_offu0092&sap-sessioncmd=cancel

    Hi All,
We are using a URL with Cmd=’log_off’&sap-sessioncmd=cancel&cmd=ldoc&template_id=myTemplate.
Now whenever I click on a particular link which calls this URL and then immediately click on another link i get the following error:
400 Session Timed out. Please log in again
    Application Server Timed Out (-11)
I can't avoid using log_off as E-Portal is not doing automatic session management and thus i need to free memory every time i navigate from one template to the other.
I've seen all the threads relaing to this, but I didn't find anything similar to my situation.
    Any thoughts??

  • Unable to download Firefox application. After 30 sec. operation timed-out

Due to problems with IE I was advised to try Firefox, but when I try to download it, after about 30 sec. I get a message that operation timed-out. I'd like to get the application on a CD if possible?

Hi louiserb, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Generally, that bad img thing is either RAM, or problems with the HDD.
Failure of APPs to open is likely Permissions problems or incomlete installs.
At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!
Disconnect the USB cable from any UPS so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.
Let us know where you are after that.

  • The operation has timed out default value too low - c# windows application

    Hello,
I get the message that the operation has timed out when certain operations take too long, which would be any on our development/test server.
I either need to make an asychronous call which I will investigate or to find the code that sets this value to ten minutes.
Anybody know how to reset the value to ten minutes?
    Thanks,
    Stephanie

The timeout is occurring on the client so it not a particular error that's being returned by the server.
The default timeout with the EWS Managed API is 90 seconds and is set on the ExchangeService Object. You can set this to a higher value eg to set it to 5 minutes
    server.timeout = 300000;
Why it fails ? if its overnight then Backups can be the cause eg if they are snapshotting the server or some other backup mechanism could mean the server is very busy for a time. Or any other number of specific environmental factors. This is really
a job for your Network admin to determine with server and network monitoring. I would suggest you check the EWS.Log on the Exchange server to see what happened at that time.
What you should do at a code level is handle the exception, I would suggest wait for 60 seconds after the exception (this will cater for most throttling issues) and then try the same request again. If it fails again after a pause then
you generally have a larger problem.
    Cheers
    Glen

    Hi,
Nothing to investigate at the application side, there is everything to investigate at the network side.
    Check the below points.
    - is there any firewall in play
    - is there any Network Address Translation into play
    - have the correct ports been opened in the firewall
    - is Oracle using random return ports (by default Oracle always uses 2 tcp/ip ports, the first one fixed, and configured in tnsnames.ora, the actual communication takes place on a radom port. If that is a problem at your site you need to fix that)
    - You need to run netstat -r to identify which ports are actually used.
