Apply patch using indpatch.pl

Hi All,
Before applying India Localization patch using indpatch.pl do we have to stop apps services, and enable maintanence mode while DB is up and running?
Please suggest.

    I`m apply patches...

But when I apply one patch I have an exception java.lang.OutOfMemory
    does any have this trouble?
i have installed Oracle 9i Rel 2 on Linux

    Hi Muba,
While applying this patch 16784403 & follow the post install task Step 4.1: Redeploy the new Forms EAR file (Conditional) of note 437878.1 after application of this MLR patch,4.2 Regenerate JAr files
do i need to stop all application services? as of this is OPatch, dont need to stop the application while applying this patch & post install step.
Please stop all application services and apply the patch. It is not mandatory you shutdown the DB, but if possible recommend to shutdown DB as well, and apply patch.
Then as post installation, regenerate JAR files using adadmin.
    Thanks &

  • How to check whether a patch is applied or not when we apply a patch using patch.sh in oracle apps 11i

    Hi,
If we apply patch using adpatch,we can know whether the patch is applied or not by checking ad_bugs,even with opatch we can check by using opatch lsinventory...
But when we apply patch with patch.sh then how can we find out whether a patch is applied or not.
I have to apply patch 14615390 and  16414360...but how can i know whether those patches are already applied or not. We have jre upgrade so we need to find out whether these patches or already applied or not.
    Thanks in advance,

These are patches for Forms aren't they?
I think this has been addressed before
How to know if a patch has been applied to Forms?
As the mighty Hussein points out in that post, refer to How to verify if a patch has been installed (Doc ID 105158.1)

  • Apply patch from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.5

    Hi Experts,
i want upgrade my oracle 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.5.
But on office side not able access oracle GUI. work only on Putty. please tell me how to upgrade my oracle using commands only.
Can we upgrade it, if yes please me how to do and which patch required for it.
    >
    using Oracle version = 10.2.0.1
    OS = Red hat 5.5
    >
    Reg,
    Harshit

    1) what is diff between Opatch and interim patch.Opatch is just the tool for applying interim/one-off patches and PSU/CPU-s
    2) I have Oracle database 10g release 10.2.0.1, and I want to upgrade it to release 10.2.0.5.
Then, in this case should I use OPatch? or should I run the OUI (./ runInstaller downloaded path)? no need for OPatch, you use OUI
(you cant even use OPatch for this kind of upgrade)
    3) if i want apply patch using "-silent" installation, can you please step by step installation.
when i go for "-silent", every time i am facing issue in very basic steps../runInstaller -silent -responseFile myResponseFile.rsp
Fill the sample response file provided with the install media by appropriate values for your enviroment.
    4) Also, how many types of patches are there like bug fixes, enhancements, upgrades, and how they are applied? do they affect only the software? or, do they also affect the database too. Base release: 11.2.0.1
    Patch set: 11.2.0.3
these are installed with OUI, the rest with opatch
also, since 11.2, Patch sets can be installed individually without the base release
Patch set update, for example: 11.2.0.3.3 - general fixes
Critical patch update: released in every 4 months (JAN-APR-JUL-OCT), contains security patches
The last two tend to come together in the same pack since a while.
One-off patch: patch for one specific bug
Interim patch: patch for specific bug for a specific customer (received through support service request)
of course they affect both software and database (majority of them)
to mention one exception, there is a one-off patch for 10.2 databases that issues the SSL certification problem for Enterprise Manager database console - actually this patch just updates some .jar files in $ORACLE_HOME and has no effect on the database

  • Solving Deadlock while applying patch

    Hi,
Kindly let me know how to solve the Deadlock situation while applying patch.
How to find the details of deadlock .
    Regards,
    deep

adpatch utility automatically resubmits workers that fail for any reason. They are resubmitted twice, and this usually takes care of any deadlock issues. Only on the third failure does adpatch report an error. If you are getting deadlock errors, these should be recorded in the database alert.log. Pl also confirm that all application services have been brought down successfully before you start to apply patches using adpatch. Not doing so could cause deadlock issues.

I got this error message: "Error 1328.Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\pT64b3.tmp It has probably been updated by other means1 and can no longer be modified by this patch. For AA XI, you only need the 11.0.09 patch. Download from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (Use "MAC" if a MAC is used).

How to get list of applied patches which applied using admrgpch

You can't really get the individual patch IDs from a merged patch, unless you have the log file from the admrgpch run available.
You can, however, get the list of bugs fixed by a merged patch, and those bug numbers sometimes, but not always, correspond to a patch ID. Keep in mind, though, that individual patches often contain entries for multiple bug numbers.
Here's a query that I use to look at the contents of merged patches. It works best if the merged patches have been given unique names, instead of the default name 'merged' from admrgpch. If you run it and see that everything belongs to patch name 'merged,' you might want to change the selected column to ap.applied_patch_id instead of ap.patch_name.
    select ap.patch_name
    , ad.orig_patch_name
    , ad.driver_file_name
    , ad.merged_driver_flag
    , ad.merge_date
    , bug.bug_number
    , cp.patch_abstract
    from ad_applied_patches ap
    join ad_patch_drivers ad using (applied_patch_id)
    join ad_comprising_patches cp using (patch_driver_id)
    join ad_bugs bug using (bug_id)
    order by applied_patch_id;

  • How to apply AIA Patch using Opatch

i have an oracle aia update patch...how can i apply this patch using Opatch.......cann any one say me the procedure of doing so....
    Quick reply is appreciated....
    Regards
    GSK

To apply patches on top of AIA 10g you need a Standalone patch.
In my case, i had to apply a patch on top of AIA 2.5 version.
-I had to apply a Stand alone patch. The version used is stand alone opatch 11.1.0.0.0 . this can be downloaded from the oracle support site.
-After applying the stand alone patch, you can apply the aia update patch. .
    - opatch apply -oh <AIA_HOME> -jre <SOA_HOME>/jre/1.4.2
AIA_HOME - Complete directory path where AIA_HOME is installed
SOA_HOME - Complete directory path where SOA is installed
Follow the instructions given in the readme and should be able to do it.
    Hope this helps

  • Error while applying patch 3384350

    Hi all,

    from adpatch.log:

I have a SR open, but thought I would ask here as well in case anyone else had ran into this issue. There was only 1 direct hit on metalink for this error and it provided no solution and it's bug # link was not accessible to the public.
    thanks in advance,

Please note that this is only a workaround to fix the issue if you cannot afford waiting to hear back from Oracle support with a proper solution.

  • Error While Applying patch ST-PI 2008_1_700 to solution Manager

    Dear Techies,
Thanks alot for your fast response.
We are trying to upgrade Solution Manager Stack from
    ST-PI 2005_1_700  to ST-PI 2008_1_700 ,
While applying patch it was suddenly stopped with an error
    "Manual modification adjustment is neccessary"
While I tried to adjust it.
In Note correction tree. This the message with " green tick"
"0001293326 EWA: Newest ST-PI Is Rated 'Outdated'; Wrong RTCCTOOL Date"
and is not allowing me to proceed further.
    How to go about.
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Kiran

    Hi Varun,
    Thanks for your reply.
As suggested by you, I executed "RTCCTOOL" programme.
It Has given that 4 notes were in red status.
    They are.
            1. [Note 69455  ]      Addon upgrade ST-A/PI 01N_700SOL
Description     "Servicetools for Applications Plug-In" for Solution Manager 4.0-7.10  (Addon delta upgrade package)
Implementation  From http://service.sap.com/supporttools->ST-A/PI download the addon upgrade package ST-A/PI
01N_700SOL. Upload to tx SAINT (just as you would  do for an installation) and install as per note 69455
Then restart report RTCCTOOL and choose 'List->Refresh from SAPNet'.
            4. [Note 539977  ]     ST-PI Support Packages
Description     Addon supportpackage level 4 for ST-PI 2008_1_700 for 7.00 [patches up to level 4 for Basis tools for  services]
Implementation  Open http://service.sap.com/supporttools-> ST-PI 2008_1_700 ->Supportpk. Add patch SAPKITLRD4 (and predecessors if not yet implemented) to download basket. Release basket via  Maintenance optimizer. Upload from frontend int  transaction SPAM, define a queue and import the queue.
            6. [Note 539977  ]     Note 1312413 for ST-PI
Description     Maintenance Certificates for SPAM/SAINT may get periodically overwritten by invalid ones on ST-PI
2008_1_7* SP 00. Prevent this proactively, even if you do not yet use the automatic maint. certificate
                                  distribution.
Implementation  We recommend that you implement the Supportpackage SP1 for ST-PI 2008_1* to solve the error. Only if
not possible implement note 1312413   with not version >=12 using SNOTE. Regarding automatic maint.
                                      certificate distribution see http://service.sap.com/maintenancecertificate.
            9. [Note 1293326  ]    EWA serviceprep correct. in sequence.
Description     Wrong alerts appear in EWAlert Service preparation section (Newest ST-PI Rated Outdated / Wrong
                          RTCCTOOL Date) if Solution Manager ST-SER < 701_2008_2 SP1 and satellites on ST-PI 2008_1* / ST-A/PI 01L*.
Implementation  Implement the coding correction of this note 1293326   with SNOTE to solve the wrong service preparation alerts. Else if you do not mind the wrong alerts simply set this recommendation manually to green after reading.
    These are in green status
    Successfully implemented addons/ transports/ notes
            2. [Note 69455  ]    Proc. after addon impl.
            3. [Note 539977  ]   Addon ST-PI 2008_1_700
            5. [Note 539977  ]   Note 1300023 for ST-PI
            7. [Note 539977  ]   Note 1293657 for ST-PI
            8. [Note 12103  ]    Collectors and TCOLL.
While I tried to implement the note "69455" system is giving the message that there are no valid corrections and is coming out of the process
"Note 0000069455 cannot be implemented since no valid correction is available."
And is same for other notes also.
    How to go ahead.
    Thanks in advance.

Make sure that no oracle processes are running on windows, stop all services again and use the task manager to kill any oracle process that is running. But first read de README.txt that you have with your patch, there is all the steps you need to follow to perform that installation.
