Applying a page break between layouts in reports6i

Hi All,
I'm having two different layouts in my report. After my first layout completed, the second will be printed. I want the second layout to start from a new page. Please help me on this.
I'm using Oracle Reports Builder 6i
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You can achieve this by page break property.

  • Smartforms: no page break between last line item and footer in table?

    Hello All,
my smartform has FIRST and NEXT pages. I would like to avoid a page break between last item line of a table in MAIN window and the footer of the same table.
Here is how it looks currently.
Output of FIRST page, MAIN window, table ITEMS:
    1.line item
    2.line item
    3.line item
    4.line item
    page break
output of NEXT page, MAIN window, table ITEMS:
    1.footer line
    2.footer line
I would like that if a footer does not fit on FIRST page, it would be displayed on NEXT page with last item line.
    It should be like this:
output of FIRST page, MAIN window, table ITEMS
    1.line item
    2.line item
    3.line item
    page break
output of NEXT page, MAIN window, table ITEMS
    4.line item
    1.footer line
    2.footer line
    Any ideas?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Mindaugas

Do you mean line item text or your want to print footer text?
If your trying yo display some footer text, then you either place a footer window or you can create a table inside your main window and place text under the footer of the table, then it will display the text without any page break.
    If it is item tem.
Then you need to build additional logic. As we cannot guess, the total number of item text upfront.
Example: if page1 can hold 15 line items, check whether your header and item can fit in page one else call a new page by placing a condition FLAG = "X".
I hope it will help you to solve your problem.

  • Need to skip page break between header and Detail sections

    Hello,
I am combining two reports in one report (one in header section and another report in the body section). when this report is run, there's a page break between these two sections. Is it possible to eliminate it? Ideally I would like the detail section to start as soon as the header section of the report is completed in the same page instead of starting (detail section report) in a new page.
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks,
    Sundar

I'd put them into one section to control the breaks.

  • No page break between table header and first line of the table main area

    Hi all.
I'm printing a form which contains a lot of tables. Sometimes while printing the table header line remains at the bootom of  the page and the lines of internal table are printed on the next page (also with header because i have marked 'at page break' in the header). How is it possible not to break header line of 'Table'-node and the first line of internal table?
    Regards, Nikolai.

    Hello Niki,
    try to use page protection......
create a folder and place the text that r to be displayed without break.........
and check the checkbox page protection.
I think you cannot put an entire table in a folder & turn "Page Protection" on simultaneously.
    Any ideas?

  • Masters not applying to pages, discrepancy between design and preview mode

    Hi there,
I am having a crazy time with Muse, please please help me... I see some of you have looked at the post, but no help yet. Please don't let me down. SOOO confused!
    1) Master pages are not fully applying to the pages I assign, only parts of them.
Above you can see that the sub-pages and the "WORK" page all have the C-Master applied to them, but then you look at one of those pages and not all of the features are there.
    Above is the C-Master page
Above is one of those sub-pages (coffee tables) with the C-master applied, yet the navigation menu is missing!?!?
    2) Also the formatting is completely on the third image is completely wrong. There is extra space at the bottom of the page and yet I cannot move the page toggles to be the same as it is on the master. These formatting/margin/page size issues run throughout my pages and I cannot get them to all be the same! HELP!
    3) The page looks different in the design mode than it does in the preview mode.
I am so confused and have gone through this from scratch once before thinking I did something wrong but I have had the same result.
    Please help me!!!
    Thank you!!
    - Carly

    Hi Parikshit,
The sticky footer sounded promising, but it didn't change anything. I still can't move those bottom toggles to be at the desired ruler mark.
As for the margins... Its my understanding that whatever you have in a master page will be applied to the pages you assign, but the content and spacing is different. There is no content that would push the page to extend further down, which I have seen done before. And because I cannot individually move the toggles I have no way of adjusting the spacing. I am going for a seamless look between pages, where the size and content of the page remains the same while the images in my portfolio change.
Even if I go to Page > Page Properies and try to enter the correct numbers, it still doesn't affect the page.
    Does that clarify?
Also, I am running 7.1 on a Mac OS 10.9...does that have something to do with it?
Thank you so much for responding!

  • Page break between line items and address in invoice

    Hi Team,
I am getting a Page beak problem between line items in an invoice.
If i have 10line items which needs to be displayed in the output all are displayed in 3 pages. but my problem is when displaying the line item details in any page it should be fully displayed on the same page else it should go to the next page for display.
Each line details needs to be printed on same page only (currenty Items and adresses are split up in different pages. ).
Please let us know how can i solve this.
    Thank you for your help.
    Best Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi Karthik,
    Thank you for your answer.
I have already done creating a folder and grouped the text elements as you have suggested in Mainwindow. I guess my explanation on my issue is not clear.
Actaully after printing the number of line items in an order we are printing the Certificate recevier details as a last row which is now having the problem, and it is getting truncated into two parts when enough space is not there to print on the same page.
If i make the text element related to the  Certificate receiver properties to Page protection will it work ? i will try this option now..
Mean while any suggestion on this regard is welcome.
    Thanks alot for your help.

  • Blank Pages in Page Break Reports

    hi,
I have a problem with respect to Page breaks.
Say for example, there are 3 different layouts L1, L2, L3. Any
or All of the three layouts will be displayed based upon a
condition. There is a need for a page break between the
different records of each layout, as well as between L1, L2 and
L3. This cannot be achieved by just setting Max Records per page
to 1. In addition to that I need to set Page Break After = Yes.
This works fine, but in cases were there are no matching records
for the layout L1 or L2 or L3 a blank page is inserted
accordingly. How to avoid this blank page? Can anyone pls help.
    Regards,
    Prabhu

    Hi Prabhu,
Look at TOOLS-> Preferences-> RunTime Settings-> Blankpages option.
While running in a browser include blankpages=NO, in the URL being constructed to call the report
This feature works perfectly in the browser. In the Run time environment, it does not work.

  • Page breaks in (html) printed apex report

I am having a strange problem that appears to be related to APEX page template.
I have a report that is html generated by a PL/SQL function. I need to have page breaks in the printed report at specific locations. I am adding this style to the html output of the function:
    <STYLE>
    DIV.pageBreak { page-break-before: always; }
    </STYLE>
and I insert this at the locations I need breaks:
    < D I V CLASS="pageBreak"/>
    (without the spaces in DIV)
(found this technique here: http://www.unagibay.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=100&itemid=1821 )
This works perfect when I run the report in IE, but FireFox is "ignoring" the page breaks. However, if I take just the output of the PL/SQL function in an html doc, FireFox works fine (breaks at the proper places). This makes me believe something related to the "page wrapper" content generated by APEX causes FireFox to not handle the breaks.
I have tried copying and editing the Popup and Printer Friendly page templates, but I either remove too much and the page doesn't render, or the page breaks don't work.
My questions for the APEX gurus are:
    1. Is there an "approved" way to get page breaks in the printed version of an APEX report, or is there a better way to do what I need to do.
    2. What is the minimum contents for a page template (what can I safely remove).
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Owen,
the page breaks are inserted before/after the section.  Expand the report structure window and make sure that the properties window is open below.  Once you click on the section part, you will see where you can insert the page breaks - the check boxes will appear in the properties.
yes on the second part - just insert the page break between the data providers and then repeat the header for the data provider on the pages (also check boxes on the properties tab)
    Good luck

  • Page break within a group(s)

I have a report that uses a group that contains three parts, a details part, a blank lines part, and a totals part.
What I am attempting to achieve, is to produce the report so that there are page breaks within this group. The page breaks should happen after each part.
I have been able to achieve the desired look by adding a group for each part, with an additional 'blank' group to provide a page break between the Details Part and the remaining 2 parts.
    This, however has left me with 3 issues;
Throughout the report, there will be pages with only the heading and no details.
There are pages that show 2 headings (one for the ending detail group and the other is for successive detail group)
How to remove the headings for the blank lines part and totals part (which is now on their own separate pages)
The major pain point for me is issue #3. Anyone able to offer suggestions with the amount of information provided?

    Hello,
Based on your description, you have three part in one group. You have add page break between each part. You have mentioned that the heading will repeat in each page. You have set the tablix repeat headers on each page, right?
Since you have blank line part in the group, when we add page break between each part, we will get a blank line page. When we have set the heading will repeat in each page, we would also have repeat page header in blank page.
Now, what your requirement is not get the repeat header in the blank page and total page, right? Please refer to the following steps below:
Cancel the headers repeat in each page configuration.
Add a total row before of the detail group. Change these text box values with headers values.
Please refer to the screenshot below:
If there are any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.

  • How to set Page break in multiple tables ?

    Hi ,
I have 3 tables in my SSRS report . 3 tables have different groups.
All groups are showing in different excel tabs as expected. Also dynamically generating each tab name based on the group name .
But 3 rd table group tab name not generating dynamically but taking 2nd table last group name .
In below example Johnhancock is my last group of table 2. From first group of 3 rd table onwards it will showing as Johnhancock2, Johnhancock3, Johnhancock4 etc. ( Data is correct only issue with tab name )
Note: I have used add a page break after  option for all 3 tables . Please suggest if I need to change any settings.

    Hi Kotim,
According to your description, you have three tables in a report with page breaks between those tables. When you export this report as excel, you have set the worksheets names showing each group name. Now you find all tabs of the third table shows the last
group name of the second table. Right?
In Reporting Service, when we export a report to an excel file, if we add page breaks for the report manually, then the report will be exported into multiple worksheets based on page breaks, and the report page names determine the name of worksheets. For
testing this scenario, we add page breaks between groups and tables, and put the group name into page name. It works fine when we export it to excel file. So we suggest you check the page name of the third table, make sure the page name is the group name of
the third table. If possible, please post some other detail information about report design. Here we also have a blog for your reference:

  • Adobe Forms - Page Break via a Conditional Break

Having read through the forum I am getting the impression that Page Breaks is a bit of a problem.
I can enforce a page break between datasets by setting "After:" to "Goto Next Page", on the Object->Pagination tab, however this results in a blank page at the end of the entire output which is just the Master Page with all the static elements.
The 'Conditional Breaks' sounds like the logical point to force a page break based on a combination of inequality or if a particular data element equals a known value.
However, I don't seem to be able to get the 'Conditional Break' to work.
So, the question I would like to ask, is how can you tell if the conditional break logic is correct and whether or not it is running? For example on an ABAP system is it possible to run it and debug it?
My attempts at getting the break to open a pop up or write to disk via JavaScript fails, which is leading me to think they  are being ignored by the Adobe Form at both the server and client level.
Is it possible that I have missed another setting somewhere else in the Adobe form configuration?

    Hello Jason!
You are right that conditions (and all scripting) are bit tricky in this solution. Still they work.
Debugging of AIF at ABAP side is not possible due to the architecture of the solution - from the ABAP POV it is just a web-service call and receiving result (PDF) back. You can't stop it on midpoint or intercept it somehow.
At the same time there are other ways to check it.
First, you can enable trace and saving additional info in SFP transaction under Utilities -> Settings.
    Details see [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/f7/a04aee0cb94978a011401311efe603/frameset.htm]
And the nice way to check if your condition block is taken into the account is simple check like 1 = 2.
If this works and you receive page break than all you need is find errors in your condition syntax, otherwise the problem is somewhere else.

  • Page break doesn't work in my BI Publisher template

    Hi!
I have been to build a RTF template in Word.
My BI Publisher version is 10.1.3.4.
In my template I have three conditional groups (for-each-group) and I would like to do a page break in each of them.
My template is something like this:
    group ROW by MONTH
    group by WEEK
    group by HOURpage break
    *Month: MONTH*
    *Week: Week*
    *Hour: Hour*
    group by GROUP
    F
    Eend by GROUP
    page breakend by HOUR
    page breakend by WEEK
    end ROW by MONTH
If I put the "page break" before of the "end ROW by MONTH" it doesn't the page break.
My template does the "page break" between different months and weeks, but it doesn't work between different hours.
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

Pages has never been able to split rows across a page boundary & as far as I can tell that has not changed in the new version. You will need to manually split the row into two rows to fit.

    Hi,
    Try the following:
    1. Build your sorting criteria. Pass this to ALV FM.
      gs_sort-fieldname = 'VENDOR'.
      gs_sort-group = '*'. "new page
      gs_sort-up = 'X'.
      APPEND gs_sort TO gt_sort.
    2. Add event group level change. Pass this to ALV FM
      gs_event-name = 'GROUPLEVEL_CHANGE'.
      gs_event-form = 'GROUPLEVEL_CHANGE'.
      APPEND gs_event TO gt_event.
Inside the form, retrieve your vendor details.
    FORM grouplevel_change USING gs_lineinfo
                                 gs_groups TYPE kkblo_grouplevels.
      DATA: l_index     TYPE i.

        l_index = gs_groups-index_to + 1.
        READ TABLE gt_display INDEX l_index  INTO gw_display.
      ENDIF.
    3. In the event top-of-page, display vendor details using write statements. For the first record, your structure (gw_display) will be blank, read from your data table first
    FORM top_of_page.
      IF gw_display IS INITIAL.
        READ TABLE gt_display INDEX 1 INTO l_display.
        IF sy-subrc = 0.
          WRITE: / l_display-vendor
        ENDIF.
      ELSE.
        WRITE: / gw_display-vendor.
        CLEAR: gw_display.
      ENDIF.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'

  • Set page break after a number of rows

I am trying to set the page break of a table to occur every 200 rows. By default it generates a page break once the report size grows larger than the page length. When I set the property KeepTogether = true, it no longer generates the page breaks but then I have the issue of over 2000 lines on a single page.
I created a group based on the following function:
    =CInt(Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/200))
I added a page break between each group instance. The first page now shows 200 lines but all remaining pages continue to page break once the length of the page has been hit  (around 22 rows).

Check out the following links. Let us know if helpful.
    BOL 2008:
    Page Breaks
In some reports, you may want to place a page break at the end of a specified number of rows instead of, or in addition to, on groups or report items. To do this, create a group in a data region (typically a group immediately outside the detail), add a page break to the group, and then add a group expression to group by a specified number of rows.
The following expression, when placed in the group expression, assigns a number to each set of 25 rows. When a page break is defined for the group, this expression results in a page break every 25 rows.
    =Int((RowNumber(Nothing)-1)/25)

  • InDesign Data Merge - Data Grouping or Page Breaks

I'm working on a plant catalog for a landscaper. I want to group the plants in the catalog by their plant type (i.e. Groundcovers, Trees, Shrubs, etc). Each plant name in the data source is assigned a plant type and I've sorted the data so the plant types are grouped together. I'm successfully using data merge to create a document with multiple records and I want to use the "Plant Type" as a header per group of plants that match that type. I'd be very happy if I could also create a page break between plant types. Is there a way to accomplish this with InDesign? I can accomplish this with Word's data merge but I'd much rather use InDesign.
Additionally, I'm currently using a text variable at the top of the page and thought this would be the solution to my problem but I'm only able to set this up using the "First on Page" option. This doesn't work well because I frequently have items at the bottom of the page that aren't in the same category as the first item on the page. I'm basically running a merge for every plant type then putting the separate documents together in a PDF... its a little time consuming but not impossible.
I hope I've explained my situation clearly. Any guidance will be appreciated.

Data Merge is very primitive. It doesn't do anything but put unlinked frames with data on the page.
That said, there are scripts, such as the text liner at Rorohiko.com that will link the frames in logical sequence, and paragraph styles can be set to start on next page, or you can add anther field to the data file and put a symbol or text sting into it only where you want a page break, then do a find change and repalce with the break after the merge.
Are you doing a lot of this? There are catlog pugins which might make your life a lot easier, but they're pricey.
