Applying summary on rows in Crosstab

Hi
I have a crosstab in which I need to show summary on Rows.
Here is the example.

USA|NJ|25|BB----

Here rev is numeric field and I need show that as row in crosstab. I am unable to apply summary on this. Please suggest is it possible in Crystal Report XI to have such crosstab. if yes how to do this.

Hi Jehanzeb
Thanks for your reply. I have tired both Running totals and formula as well.
But I did not find anyway to include the summary row for Row Colums.
I hope you did understand that where exactly I am looking in crosstab.
Crosstab has typically 3 sections, One is Header columns which grows horizontally, 2nd in Crosstab body which is calculation member (summary part) and 3rd is your Row fields the lefthand side columns.
I am looking for 3rd section which has numeric data and I want to include the totals row for these Column.
In BO Deski or Webi report you can do it easily but in crystal crosstab you don have much option.
Please let me know if there is any workaround for this.

  • Custom total rows in crosstab

    Hi,
    I would like some feedback as to whether the following is possible (or not) using BI Beans.
    Requirement Summary:
    To insert a number of custom calculation rows in a crosstab that are based on calculations of values in dimension-member rows.
    Requirement Detail:
    I have Income, Direct Expenses and Indirect Expenses as three dimension members on the ROW_EDGE axis of my crosstab. Note that these are not measures - they are categories of transactions appearing as dimension members at a certain level of a dimension hierarchy.
    I wish to insert three custom calculation rows at the bottom of the crosstab:
    (1) Income - Direct Expenses
    (2) Direct Expenses + Indirect Expenses
    (3) Income - Direct Expenses - Indirect Expenses
    I have looked at the TotalStep class, but it looks like this will only perform aggregate functions across all dimension members rather than selected ones. It also looks like only one TotalStep is allowed for each query.
    Any help is very much appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Peter

    I have similar requirements in my project. I have used models in Analytic Workspace. It will work. However it depends on whether you are using ROLAP or MOLAP. If you have not gone into that area, you have to be prepared to do a bit of reading.

  • In V 6.5 SP2 shading ever other row in crosstab report

    Post Author: Theodore Van Patten

    I am having tremendous difficutly on a seemily simple request, and that is to shade ever other row in a crosstab report.  Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Another alternative, if  you dont want to use the Shared Content Store, is to have your PackageInstallationRoot pointing to a non-provisioned disk (non-PVS).  In our environment we had the same exact issue.  Each of our Citrix servers have
    a D drive thats non-provisioned that we use for Logs.  Once I pointed the PackageInstallationRoot over to this location everything started working.   The key here is to have a script run at server startup that deletes the PackageInstallationRoot
    since the provisioned non-persistent disk will reboot to a fresh image each time.   This way you wont end up with stale content out there as applications are updated and/or removed.
    There are other things that also have to happen for this to work in these types of environments (related to roaming profile exclusions) that I can provide to you if you need them.
    Let me know if you want/need more details.

  • Two measures in a same row for crosstab report

    Hi Guru,
    I would like to design a crosstab report with 3 dimensions and 1 key figure like this
    Dimension 1 and 2 should be in the same row.
    Would it be possible? If yes, then how can I do it?
    Thanks,
    Huu Nguyen

    Hi,
    I think for this what you need is to create a new column on right in cross tab and then drag dimension 2 here also you have to put the measure in here too.
    after doing this report will look like:
    Try this i think it will help you out.

  • Change Header row in crosstab

    Hello,
    does anybody know how to change the header row of a crosstab in the designstudio manually ? So i have currently some technical names and some descriptions as header and i want to have other names in the header.
    Thanks in advance

    You could change them in the properties of the BEx query
    Another idea (I have not tried this) - but I see Ilya made this suggestion using CSS -see Re: cross tab - change column name

  • Latest row in crosstab

    Hello everyone,
    I have crosstab like this
    1/4/2014          1
    2/4/2014          2
    3/4/2014          3
    4/4/2014          4
    SUM <--- this column must be after all month days (sometimes 30,31,28,29)
    MAX <--- this column must be after all month days (sometimes 30,31,28,29)
    AVG <--- this column must be after all month days (sometimes 30,31,28,29)
    I have inserted rows in table which calculate good ( tested on day 30 by inserting empty row after day 30) -> calculation part is good
    I need only make formula for insert event for dynamic insert row something like :
    if GetRowGroupIndexOf(CurrentRowIndex) = MAX(RowIndex) then true else false or something like this.
    any hints are welcomed

    Hi Abhilash,
    yes it only for one month.
    Man you are still one step further then me I was thinking about code like:
        local numbervar i;
        local numbervar min :=  CurrentRowIndex;
        for i := 1 to CurrentRowIndex-1 do
         DO SOMETHING
    and you are still coming with simple, efective and good solution, but I cant use this I just noticed that date column is in string (becouse defalut scada database have timestamps only and if I want another format - just date I must substring it from timestamp and worse is that they don't have solution for other formatting , I must use group by in SQL query for date -> I can't avoid substring and converting timestamp to string)
    in this case I can't use Maximum({Date_Field}

    I want to create a Specific Order Group but I can use only a OR.
    Why can't I do the AND?????? I need it. It's not used the OR for me in that case.
    Thanks a lot !

    My solution was to create a formula and the between the formula and the order group it's working

  • Possible to Subtotal Rows in Crosstab?

    Hi all;
    I have created a crosstab query that displays the hours worked per day.  I want to display the hours worked in a month and show a subtotal for each week. I am totally new to Discoverer and was hoping someone could help out.
    Thanks!!

    Hi Rajan,
    The totals behave the same way you configure it in your Bex Query.
    if you set in the properties in the bex query that you want to show the totals on top, design studio will show it on top as well
    Hope it helps,

  • Crosstabs- Selecting Rows based on parameters

    Does anyone know a way to display or not display rows in a crosstab based on parameters? I am not looking to suppress rows, rather just include or exclude.
    What I am trying to do is replicate a webfocus report that allows the user to check a checkbox to show or not show items such as fiscal year, period, item, etc.
    Any assistance with this would be very much appreciated.

    I'm not sure about it! but there might be a workaround. Can you try this and see whether it helps you?
    Suppose I have 3 fields like country,region,city and I have inserted a crosstab and inserted year field in column and inserted sales amount as a summary field. For the rows I tried creating a static parameter with values country,region,city
    Now create formula 1 as
    if {?parameter}="country" then {country field}
    formula 2 as
    if {?parameter}="region" then {region field}
    formula 3 as
    if {?parameter}="city" then {city field}
    Now I have inserted all these 3 formula as 3 different rows in crosstab
    I hope this might help you upto some extent!!!

  • Hyperlink from summary field in crosstab??

    I want to enable a hyperlink on a summary field in a crosstab so that clicking on it will produce a subreport of the detailed items that are included in the count displayed in the summary field.
    Keeping my username in mind ;-> I have tried everything I could think of and haven't found the magic incantation yet. I was expecting to be able to select a drill down, but that radio button is greyed out for the field I want to hyperlink from. I've tried a multitude of sane and insane things within all of the hyperlink tabs I could find, but no success.
    I've read as much of the documentation as I could find, both from the CD and online, and I'm stumped.
    Has anyone done this, and if so, could you please offer some tips??
    Thanks!!!!

    One thought I have is to right-click on the field in the cross-tab and select "Format Object".  I'm using CR for VS2005 and I have a Hyperlink tab that allows me to configure a hyperlink.  Using this hyperlink, you could navitage to another webform with another report to display the details for that summary.  Just a suggestion!

  • Performance Issue with Crosstab Reports Using Disco Viewer 10.1.2.48.18

    We're experiencing Performance Issue (retrieving 40000 rows) with Crosstab Reports Using Disco Viewer 10.1.2.48.18 ( > 01 Minute , executing "Building Page Axis" or executing a Refresh).
    Are there parameters to tun (in pref.txt file) , in order to reduce "Building Page Axis" execution ?
    Note : We've got the same performance problem , using Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2.48.18.
    Thank's in advance for your Help.

    Hi
    Well if the same issue occurs in both Desktop and Viewer then you have your answer. It's not the way that Discoverer is running the workbook its the way the workbook has been constructed.
    For a start, 40000 rows for a Crosstab is way over the top and WILL cause performance issues. This is because Discoverer has to create a bucket for every data point for every combination of items on the page, side and top axes. The more rows, page items and column headings that you have, the more buckets you have and therefore the longer it will take for Discoverer to work out the contents of every bucket.
    Also, whenever you use page items or crosstabs, Discoverer has to retrieve all of the rows for the entire query, not just the first x rows as with a table. This is because it cannot possibly know how many buckets to create until it has all the rows.
    You therefore to:
    a) apply sufficient filters to reduce the amount of data being returned to something manageable
    b) reduce the number of page items, if used
    c) reduce the number of items on the side or top axis of a crosstab
    d) reduce the number of complex calculations, especially calculations that would generate a new bucket
    If you have a lot of complex calculations, you should consider the use of a materialized view / summary folder to pre-calculate the values.
    Does this help?

  • Drill down in crosstab report

    I'm working with a crosstab report displaying summary accounts on each row & current and prior year on each column. I'd like to create a drill down function for each of the summary accounts rows so that when I click on a summary account, the dept# that made up this summary total will be displayed either on a separate report or below the summary account that I click.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
    This is what I want to create:
    SUMMARY ACCOUNT               FY2014     FY2013
    600001 - SALARIES               500        380    (i.e. able to drill down to dept below when 600001 is clicked)
        701000 - ER DEPT            200        175
        757000 - CATH LAB           150        210
        848000 - INFO SYSTEM        100         65
        851000 - ACCOUNTING          50         50
    710002 - BENEFITS               150        140
        881000 - HUMAN RES          135        130
        900000 - OTHERS              15         10
    711003 - SUPPLIES               XXX        XXX

    Thank you for the referenced thread.  I've copied your answer on the thread to this reply below.
    However, I do have a few question in following thru your instructions:
    1.  How do you procede with the 1st 3 bullets below?
    2.  What or where is the Business Object Platform?
    3.  What or where is the "Repository"
    Please advice.  Thank you.
    Here are a few ways you can drill-down into a cross-tab (all of them are workarounds by the way).
    The first method is using Report Parts or ‘Another Report Object’ and the second method is using an ‘OpenDoc’ URL
    Both the methods need the target report (report that is opened when drilled into) to have the same groups as the Crosstab
    The ‘Another Report Object’ can be setup in the following way:
    The target report needs to saved to the BusinessObjects Platform first
    Open the target report in the Crystal Report designer from the ‘Repository’
    Assuming the groups have been setup properly, click on any field in the details section and ‘Copy’ (Ctrl+C)
    Open the Report with the Crosstab
    Right-click the Summary Field on the Crosstab and go to ‘Format Field’ > Hyperlink
    Then Check ‘Another Report Object’ and click on ‘Paste’
    All the required information should be populated automatically
    This is how the Data Context should look like:
    “/”+GridRowColumnValue(“Customer.Country”)+”/”+ GridRowColumnValue(“Customer.Region”)+”/”+ GridRowColumnValue(“Customer.Customer Name”)
    Where “Country” and “Region” are rows in the Crosstab, “Customer Name” is a column in the crosstab.
    Similarly, “Country”, “Region” and “Customer Name” are groups on the target report
    So, the above formula would make sure the report drills-down to the last group
    The next method using ‘OpenDoc’ makes use of the opendocument URL and passes values from the Crosstab to the target report’s parameters
    Here’s how we can set this up:
    The basic design of the Main report and the target report would be the same as in above, however we would need to create parameters that correspond to the groups on the target report
    In this case, we would create three parameters – Country, Region and Customer Name
    We would use these parameters as filters on the target report and our record selection formula would look like this:
    {Country} = {?Country} and {Region} = {?Region} and {Customer Name} = {?Customer Name}
    We would then link the Main reports ‘Country’, ‘Region’ and ‘Customer Name’ with these parameters
    Now on the Main report Right-click the Summary Field on the Crosstab and go to ‘Format Field’ > Hyperlink
    Check the option ‘A Website on the Internet’ and click on the formula button in ‘Hyperlink information:”; the formula should be as follows:
    “/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=6472&lsSCountry=”&GridRowColumnValue(“Customer.Country”)&” &lsSRegion=”&GridRowColumnValue(“Customer.Region”)&” &lsSCustomer+Name=”&GridRowColumnValue(“Customer.Customer Name”)
    When any summary value is clicked in the Cross-tab, the corresponding Country, Region and Customer Name are passed as values to the parameters of the target report
    Hope this helps!

  • Conditional Format a CrossTab

    Hello I have an existing cross-tab report that I need to do a conditional format on.  In my report I have a sum of QTY Required by Day in the Summary section of the cross-tab.  I also have a field call Balance on Hand on each Row.  I would like to change the color for any of daily QTY required that are greater than the Balance on Hand.  This is simple in a Standard Report, but for some reason Iu2019m struggling figure out how to make it work in a cross-tab.  Thanks

    If I understand correctly you have 2 summary values in the crosstab and you want to highlight the first summaryvalue, required, based on whether or not it is greater than the second summary value, on hand. If you were to switch the summary values around so that on hand appeared first then you could right click on it, format field, background and conditionally enter in a formula that assigns the currentfield value to a variable but output no color;
    numbervar a:= currentfieldvalue;
    crnocolor
    Then in the second summary value right click, format field, background and conditionally compare the currentfieldvalue to the variable value;
    numbervar a;
    if currentfieldvalue > a then crred else crblack
