Approval process not waiting for approval tasks to be completed

Hi All,
I created an Approval process for a resource. When a request is created for this resource an approval task is assigned to the manager of the user.
Before the approval task is completed by the manager the resource is getting provisioned. Is there something I am missing out here. Any suggestions about what I am missing here.

The statuses shown are sometimes misleeding. There is a status for when the approval starts. There is a status when the Standard Approval process completes (this is normally set to auto complete). There there is a status for when the object specific approval starts, a status for if any of the approvals have been completed, and then one for when the whole request is completed. These don't neccessarily provide you with a sure answer to the status of the request.
I think you need to disregard the statuses for now, and just configure the approval tasks as you intend to do so. If you do not want the standard approval to be required, set the Approve task to use the auto complete adapter. Then create an approval process specific to your resource object, and set it to the default. Then create an approval task and make to uncheck the "conditional" checkbox so that it always runs. Set your assignments appropriately, and you will be done. The provisioning will not start until all tasks are completed with a complete status for the tasks within.
If you want to know the statuses between steps, then check those between all of the steps.

I am facing an error in the process chain in PRD.
Error message: This AND process is not waiting for event RSPROCESS.
We had a process chain which had two sub chains which run parallel and below of this we had AND process type and below of the AND process we had 4 more jobs.
Once the two subchains got successfully loaded, the and process should turn to green and further 4 jobs should start.
It is a daily load , it worked fine from past years,but suddenly the AND processtype is getting failed.The thing is in the two subchains if one got completed, the AND process process is not waiting for 2nd subchain to get completed.The AND process is turning to RED (status: cancelled) . I tried to repeat the AND process once after above 2 subchains loaded, but it didnt worked.
And i removed the existing AND process and created a new one and placed it in same place and activated and schedules again.but still it is getting failed with same error.

If you did any transports related to that metachain we face similar kind of issues.
not only the AND process , we need to remove all the process before executing the AND process and create it again.
It helps you, you said your in production So you should take the proper approvals and do it.

I see that Common Sense Meda offers courses. I don't believe they are an accredited educational institution. Approval may be on a case by case basis so Apple can control the experience. I hope it's open.
I'm more concerned that Apple is excluding accredited educational institutions in many countries.

Waiting for Approval - RFx Question

Hi Experts,
We are in Esourcing 7.0. My Client has a requirement to add spend category group as approver for RFx before it go to next phase 'Open for Review'.
I modified the document security template for RFx and provided the group information.
Added them as Colloboraters - Role (Approver)
When I changed the phase to 'Waiting for approval'. I dont see any approval item in the workbench (My Workflow Activities)...
But when I click on the link(that I received in email as colloborator) , I can view a button 'Approve RFx'.
Is there something I am missing?
Will 'My Workflow Activities' only shows that are routed through XPDL (Project and Contract Document)?

Rfx approval is not supported by workflow. It is a separate process. As you stated Projects, Contract Documents, UserDefined objects and recently Vendors are supported workflow documents. The way you can tell is objects that have configurable phase definitions also have the ability to add workflow. These will show up in the workflow activities report.

PO should not go for approval if it is from a contract

Dear Gurus,
This company wants to approve the contract but the POs created from that contract should not go for approval again. Please give an idea to achieve this requirement?

We need to define Contract under characteristics of PO approval process goto SPRO > Materials Management > Purchase Order > Release Procedure fro Purchase Orders > Edit Class
Enter Class : for example POREL , class type 032 > Char tab
Enter POCONTRACT under characteristics
Enter Contract Number under description
Enter CHAR under Data Type
Enter 10 under No.of characters and 0 under decimal places
Then go to PO release strategy > Classification
Enter Contract Number under characteristic Description and Value leave it blank
this is what we did in our company and it is working fine.
POs created with referece to approved contract is not triggering to approval process again.
I dont know whether you are still waiting for the answer.

Approval Process Not triggering?

Hello,
I have created a simple Approval process in which request should go to the Beneficiary manager through JDEVELOPER. I have also registered this Approval process with OIM.
After that i have created two Approval policies..
REQUEST LEVEL--
This is Auto Approved.
Approval Rule :: Template Name equals Provision Resource.
Set Priority : 1 (Request Type=Provision Resource)
OPERATIONAL LEVEL --
Approval Process attcahed at this level.
Approval Rule :: Template Name equals Provision Resource.
When i am creating a request for a particular resource the request is getting assigned to XELSYSADM by default (as per the Developers Guide for OIM 11g, if no approval policy is attached with the template the default Approval process gets trigerred and the request gets assigned to XELSYSADM.)
Can somebody help me by telling why the Default Approval process is getting triggered and not the one which i have attached at the Operational level?
Am i missing Something?

As i have mentioned earlier, it is configured such that the appropriate approval process is triggered when a request for particualr resources is requested.
There are multiple tasks in each one of the approval process.
The approvals were triggering well 2 days ago and suddenly there seams to be a problem in the approval triggering.
The approval process was not edited / updated for any of these resources. Wondering why suddenly OIM does not work well for the approval triggering???
here the problem is none of the configured approval processes are triggering. Its not just one approval process but all 12 approval processes (including standard approval) are not triggering when the request is raised.
Appreciate your help till now, please suggest me how to make OIM trigger the approvals again!

Header status say "waiting for approval".

Hello Team,
We have contract with 10 line items. All line items are approved. ie the status say approval finished.
However in the header status say "waiting for approval".
We have approval at header level.
System details we have SRM 7.01 ie Ehp 1.

After Setting up AME for iRecruitment, i get problems as follows:
1: Approvals Management Business Analyst -->Business Analyst Dashboard
i find 'iRecruitment Vacancy Approval' is not found in Approval Process Setup.
2:when i click Approvals Management Administrator respsonbility. it get errors:
java.lang.NullPointerException
     at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAAdvancedTableHelper.setMetaDataProperties(OAAdvancedTableHelper.java:391)

Purchase requisition waiting for approval

Like , when we see PRs in ME55 tcode for particular user. From which table we get these entries??

EBAN you get the exact level. but thing is here you can get the rel stat as X only.
Say examply if you have 3 rel level means, in this rel stat each level release it will get update X. If two level released XX will be there.
Create one Z table there you will maintain the release code,user and level combination. two compare this z table and eban you can get the user list.
directly you cannot get the its lying with which user.

" Waiting for approval " until when !????

i have a nokia N8 with the following product code 059D1M2 im always checking for the update realase , now its been a month evryday i check the updates availability i find " Waiting for approval" is nokia joking on us or what !!?

It means that it's waiting for approval from your operator and it has nothing to do with Nokia.
You could call your operator and ask about this approval, someone in technical service may know that how long it takes to approve the newest firmware. (For some reason, every operator has to approve the firmware updates and only after that their clients can do the update)

Waiting for approval for unbranded phones

In the Software Update for Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone page, some phones has the status "Waiting for approval". Far as I know, carrier specific phones updates are tested/aproved by the carrier.
But, the unbranded ones: who makes the tests and approves the update? Is Nokia itself?

Both would as regards to the carriers they will test it themselves,often the maybe they skip updates,thats why sim free is the best option,or so one would think because the carriers are getting the updates first with the lumias.

Hello Isaac,
If you are calling the RFC from WebDynpro then you have to wait for the RFC response. However, there is a way that you can get early response from a RFC.
Suppose you are using RFC1 in your program and it contains business logic. Now, don't directly call the RFC1, instead, write another RFC2 which calls RFC1 asyncronously. This way, when you call RFC2 it automatically call RFC1 and does not wait for any response for RFC1
You can call RFC1 from RFC2 asynchronously:
CALL FUNCTION RFC1 STARTING NEW TASK taskName
Your WD application will immediately get a response from RFC2 while RFC1 still executing.

HumanTaskActivity not waiting for user to act

In PROC2 I have FlowN activity, from each branch I'm invoking another process called PROC3 by passing some email as input to PROC3.
PROC3 contains only HumanTaskActivity.
The moment I initiate my PROC2 , it invokes PROC3, but in PROC3 HumanTaskActivity doesnt wait for the response, it gets complete without sending any email.
Any help would be very handful for me.

From my PROC2 I'm getting an user name (realm user), I want to pass this to another process PROC3.
Way I did:
Create partner link for PROC3 in PROC2
assign user value to PROC3 input and pass that value to HumanTask.
My Requirement is :
In PROC2 I have a flowN activity, inside each branch I get the user value, at this stage I want to pass it to HumanTask.
Any help will be very much helpful.

Binding of a wait for event task

Friends,
I'm sorry because I wrote about terminating events, but I wanted to ask about <b>'wait for event task'</b>.
I know that isn't obligatory to make binding of wait for event tasks.
I've configured without binding, and it is working fine on developement system, but it can cause any problem if I don't make it ?

You should be fine as it will use the EVTObject reference to invoke the wait step.
