  • Approved for a Barclays Rewards Card

Hi So i  received a pre approval for the Barclays rewards card and surprised i was approved for 1500.00 is there anything i should know about Barclay's?  I heard once youre in good you are in a good position.  They offer the apple barclays visa card which i love Apple.  is that a good sign that my rebuilding is improving because before they wouldnt give me the time of day.

  • Safari 4.0.3 will not open Wells Fargo Secure Site.

Safari 4.0.3 will open the main Wells Fargo Bank website just fine, but if I try to log in to get to the secure page with my account information, Safari gives me a "cannot find" error message. I telephoned Wells Fargo Online, and they said that sometimes Apple introduces a new OS or Safari which is incompatible with them. They suggested downloading FireFox, which I did, and it worked perfectly. So until Apple and/or Wells Fargo fixes this bug, Wells Fargo clients do have this FireFox workaround available.

At one particular web site ( a log on site for a library) Safari 4.0.3 the browser downloads the web page to download folder as "webquery-38.dll.html" When I click on it it either opens at another page of the library or as a text file. I have tried all the things mentioned with cache, resetting safari, and the security. This s the only site it comes from and the administrators of the site say it works with their Safari. They suggest using another browser. Any suggestions as it must be something with my computer/safari

  • Was approved for a Mejier Commenity Card!!!

So a couple of weeks ago I applied for a Mejier card, mostly because my local Mejier was running a promotion to get $20 off your bill if you apply. I received the standard your application needs further review and 7-10 letter. Received the letter yesterday and it said that I need to call and verify some information. I called and they did 3 security questions and said congratulations you were approved with a $500 credit limit. YAY!!! I've been trying to shopping cart trick for months and cannot get a popup offer to save my life so to be approved for this card is a surprise to me!

Woo congratulations! I always love it when you think its a decline but they just want to ask you a few questions (Ive had denials due to supposed fraud when I applied for too many cards too fast, just needed verification!)

  • Capital One: Denied CLI / Approved for $50K on New Card

I have two CapitalOne Cards that were open in early 2007 after my bankruptcy in August 2006. They were the first company to give me credit cards following the bankruptcy, the first one received a $3,500 limit and the second one received a $3,000 limit.
In 2013/2014, they upgraded me to their Quicksilver card so I could get cash back on my purchases. As my finances have drastically changes since then, I've attempted to request multiple limit increases, and I've kept getting denied because they say I don't use enough of my credit limit to justify a limit increases.
Then in December I just decided to apply for a CapitalOne Venture card for their 40,000 bonus miles, and was given a $50,000 credit limit.
Can someone explain how/why they won't increase my limit on a card with $3k limit, but will give me a new card with a $50,000 limit? I would rather have the limit on one of these older cards that's I've now had for 8 years.

  • Approved for AMEX Gold Business Card!!

I am finally in with AMEX!! This is a real big deal for me.  I have never apped with them and now that my scores are better I decided to take the leap!  I got the 75,000 points if I spend $2,000 in the first month.  I did recieve a better offer for the platinum but decided I didn't want to pay that hefty fee every year.  I would love to app for one of their personal cards but not sure I will get approved.  Thanks to everyone on this forum for all your help!  Sidenote- we also closed on our Business Revolving Line of Credit today!  I would say this is a good day!  I never thought we would see this day

  • Wells Fargo Cards w/o prior relationship?

I'm interested in getting a Wells Fargo credit card, mainly for their free cell phone insurance. However, I tried applying in the past and was auto-denied solely for lack of existing relationship. I'm really not interested in opening a Wells Fargo checking/savings account since they're all kinda sucky, but their website suggests that those without prior relationships should apply through the branch. I was wondering if I could bypass the prior relationship requirement for their cards by applying through a branch instead?

You need a WF store card to start the relationship.   Ron.Ron is on to something here. I have a Dillard's card initally issued by Synchrony/GE, then Wells Fargo acquired it a few months ago. Last week I was on the phone setting-up a new Wells Fargo checking account and during verification the woman started asking me questions about "last transactions' and "last payment amounts" on my Dillard's card! I was shocked...I had no idea an 800-XXX CSR would have access to information pertaining to my store card??!!I am not surprise a bit. Dillards Amex shared your account history with the rest of WF bank according to the agreement.   Ron.toi34 wrote:

  • Wells Fargo no good

I have had a Wells Fargo credit card since 2011 and they will not give me a CLI, I only have a $300,00 CL witch is useless when you should not use more then 30% of your line. I have tried three times for a CLI to no avail. What do you think I should do?

drew, why did they want a secured from you? don't you have good cards? i have seen some of the limited you've posted...I dropped out of the credit game for about 8 year's following my 2007 CH 7 BK. I was forced to file because of 2 million plus in personal guarantees related to a business I was involved in with a bad partner. This event had a devastating effect on my life and I crawled under a rock for a really long time. I lived off prepaid cards and cash for the last 8 year's. My wife, on the verge of leaving me, convinced me to make a change. I pulled my CR's in Jan of this year and my scores were all mid 500's, but almost entirely because I had no credit. The only good thing to come out of the last 8 year's of not using credit was that almost every derog was gone. So I needed to start somewhere and I went with 2 secured cards (Wells Fargo/2K and US Bank/1K) and Credit One. In just 4 month's, my scores all climbed over 700, with my EX flying up to 790. This obviously allowed me to app prime cards, and I've done really well since the middle of May. I really wish I found this site 6 or 7 year's ago. I truly believe it would've helped me out, both financially and emotionally. After year's of being successful, I hit rock bottom, and felt worthless. If it wasn't for my wife's support and her pushing me hard, I'd likely still be in the same ugly place. So that's a quick run down of where I've been and why I started with WF and secured cards. Thanks  !!! Better late than never. The beauty of your story is the support from your wife and this forum has gotten you back.....keep it up.

  • Wells Fargo Product Change to Visa Signature?

Hi all, I've got a Wells Fargo Visa card, which is my lowest limit credit card, but also my second-oldest which is the reason I've kept it for this long. Wanted to seek some feedback from others in terms of whether Wells will do PCs. Specifically I want their Visa Signature card, not because it's a necessarily great card for rewards (it's not) but because it's one of the few true Chip + PIN cards which would be excellent to have overseas. I just downgraded my Arrival Plus and the new Arrival doesn't even have a chip (**bleep**???) I'm not interested in applying for the card, but if possible I'd like to PC my existing plain-vanilla Visa to this one. It would also require a CLI to at least $5K to be with Visa Signature... as you can see in my sig I'm not worried about getting to $5K but I do know that WF is stingy (but also one of the most well-run banks in the country, so can't blame them)https://www.wellsfargo.com/credit-cards/visa-signature/  What do you think is possible here, what has anyone's Wells experience been, and what's the best way to go about this? I'm planning to do some HPs in July once some inquiries drop off to try to boost some of my lower card limits, so I'd probably include Wells with that. Not averse to a HP but I do want it to be worth my time. Thanks! FYI - I also bank with them but just checking and a tiny savings account I use as a self-maintained escrow account to pay for annual bills. I have been a customer for 22 years as well. Hopefully that plays into the decision.

Called the # on the back of the card today to try my luck. The rep basically said that product change offers to Visa Signature are very uncommon, and none was available for me. I would have to be basically "invited" to change over. However, she said I could apply for the Visa Signature. Interestingly, she also confirmed that all Wells cards will have a CHIP by the end of the year, and she also said that even the Visa Signature does not have CHIP + PIN. So I guess nothing lost here. She did upgrade me to 1% cash back rewards though, not that I will use it as I already have Fidelity Amex at 2%, but I'll take it. Got transferred over to Credit Line Increase department and they approved me for an increase from $2900 to $4400. I had asked them for $12K. They said no further increase would be approved unless I spoke to the underwriting department and they did a HP, which I opted not to do. Not going to burn up a HP on Wells right now, especially as they tend to be stingy with increases. In sum, didn't gain a whole lot today, but at least they bumped me up without a hard pull. My WF limit is still far short of all my other cards, but the more CL I can get the better You can request a Wells Fargo card with emv chip even if it's a non-signature rewards card.  I did that back in January 2014 for my Platinum & Home Rebate Rewards when I found out that they were offering emv and since they were the first big bank offering chip & pin secondary capability.  IIRC, Barclays was the second big and public bank to offer chip & pin backup about 6 months later and the reason I got the Arrival+.   @csryang in above post is correct with all the info about emv chip & pin.  Diner's is the only true chip & pin priority emv card that was available to public, others you have to join credit unions or USAA. I jumped on the offer and got a Diner's card when it was open for app's to get a non CU chip & pin card w/out FTF's.  Wells Fargo, unfortunately has 3% FTF's, so I didn't take it with me to Europe.  Chase has told me that starting next Spring, they will roll out chip & pin backup to their emv cards. As far as dealings with Wells Fargo, I've never asked for anything besides a few fee reimbursements and the chip cards, but they have been generous with me. They just recently changed my Platinum Rewards cards to Visa Signature without me asking for it.  I've had a banking relationship for over 15 years with them (checking, savings, mortgage, credit cards) and they've auto CLI'd both cards doubling the starting CL when they saw I was using one up to limit.  I don't use their credit cards much at all now , just cell phone bills, but for whatever reason, they decided to change it all of a sudden to Visa Sig.

  • Approved for Chase Freedom!

I started the credit rebuilding process last year and have taken my scores from the high 500's to the low 700's in that time. I guess my scores are pretty good now but until today I've never been approved for a regular credit card that wasn't secured! I was really hesitant to apply actually, then they approved me right away and I'm so happy! My current scores, per MPM, are around 670, but that's a recent hit due to another new account I opened mid-July (Amazon Store Card). I was worried that would lead to my denial by Chase but chose to apply anyway. I'm an AU on my dad's Chase Slate, and based on posts on this forum it seems like their reconsideration process is pretty generous with approvals. I figured there was little harm since I could point out my responsible handling of my AU account if I had to call. I now have: CapOne Secured, $500 limitChase Slate (Authorized User), $3200 limitBofA Cashback, $2000 limitAmazon Store Card, $1200 limitChase Freedom, $2200 limitThese last few weeks have been amazing credit-wise, actually... First BofA returned my deposit for their secured card, increased my limit and upgraded me to Cash Rewards, then I managed to get the Amazon Store Card (after being rejected just over a year ago), and now this! So pleased, and very excited to cancel my stupid CapOne Secured. Thanks for listening

    Congrats

  • Safari and Wells Fargo Online

I'm wondering if anyone else is having a problem accessing his or her Wells Fargo account using Safari? It worked until I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I can access the account via Firefox but when using Safari I get an error message telling me, "Cannot access server". I called tech support for Wells Fargo and they weren't much help. I wouldn't be a big deal but I use Safari exclusively.

Sorry, I just noticed another thread on the this subject. Couldn't find it before.

  • SUCCESS w/ Wells Fargo Dealer Services - removal of two erroneous 30 day lates!

After numerous disputes throughout the years and finally coming across the info for Wells Fargo Dealer's Services Office of the President on this board, I've finally gotten my erroneous 2 30 day lates prior to the last payoff of my loan confirmed as in error and REMOVED! I opened a case with the Office of the President on 5/11, and was originally given a 3 business day turnaround time but since my issue had to do with totalling my car and gap protection paying off the remainder of the loan, they had to do some research as a page of my gap contract was missing and they also mentioned they may actually owe me a refund for the payments I made after the fact. In any case, I just received a call back and said they have concluded the investigation and were incorrect with reporting these payments late and they have made the request today to have all credit bureaus update my payment history to reflect no lates. This account was paid in full back at the end of 2009, so I'm not sure how much it will help my credit but by fixing this error, I have perfect payment history on all of my car loans that have reported and I'm sure this will probably help my AUTO FICO, which will be good come September when I plan on purchasing another car.
