Apps freeze during update in iOS 8.02
After updating to 8.02 I am having my ipad freeze during the app update process. I get the circle but the ring fails to show any download progress. If I touch the circle it returns to the update button? This on a new iPad air
Close the App Store app and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

IOS 4 Apps Sharp During Update/Fuzzy After Update
So this is something that I've noticed has garnered almost zero attention from the press or from the Apple community. Basically, about 75% of the time, when I update an app that has been updated for a higher resolution icon, it'll display the sharper, higher-res icon while the update is downloading, but once the app has been updated, it'll go back to its fuzzy, low-res self. Sometimes, it'll even revert back to an older icon, completely different than the one on display in the app store. A good example of this phenomenon is InfectThemAll, as not only is its icon not updated for iOS 4 as far as my home screen is concerned, but it's actually an older icon than the one on the store.
Now I've done everything that there is to do to fix this issue. I've deleted, then redownloaded every app from the phone. I've deleted, then deleted the app from my computer, then redownloaded from my computer and synced. I've even completely restored my phone. None of these things solve this issue. It appears that this is exclusive to the iPhone, as when my iPhone is plugged into my computer, the home screen view on iTunes displays the correct, higher-res icons perfectly.
So has anyone else come across this issue, and if so, is there a fix for it or will I just be stuck with crummy looking icons until Apple addresses this? Thanks.Close the App Store app and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. -
Apps locking after update to iOS 7
Can anyone help with this? After I updated to iOS 7, my iPad is on a serious delay, apps freeze, the home button doesn't work (you literally have to continually press it for it to respond) and it just crashes when trying to use mat of my apps, even those that were updated for the new system. I really regret updating as i had NO ISSUES prior to the update. Now I just want to throw thing at a wall because it has basically become a flat paper weight. Is there a way to go back to the previous iOS? I feel ripped off.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings -
Apps not automatically updating in iOS 7.1.2. Is anyone else having similar problems?
I have an iPhone 5s, iPad 3, and iPod, but a couple of days ago, my apps quit auto-updating. All devices have iOS 7.1.2. Anyone else having this problem, and is it related to the new release of iOS 8?
It could be. I'd imagine that the servers are swamped with millions of gig plus iOS8 downloads, and now today millions of iPhone activations and people trying to get apps for their new phone. It could be that auto updates were suspended due to traffic, or may just be overwhelmed by traffic.
I would give it a week. If it's still not working then then dig into it and see if something could be wrong. -
Cannot access app store after updating to ios 8.1.3
the only thing showing up in the App Store app after updating to ios 8.1.3 is my purchases and updates. I get nothing on the Explore, Top Charts or featured tabs...so i can no longer download a new app. I tried signing out and signing back in but still nothing.
I Solved this. Rebooted my isp router and my wireless router.

Regarding my iPad2 32 wifi - 3G.
During update of system iOS files today (approx 650mb), there popped up an error message in iTunes saying something like (error during update, and some more info i didnt see) before it left the screen. Now my ipad is lokced, only a black screen with the apple and a line under it. It is not possible to reboot or turn of the iPad. Any idea of what i have to do next?

Select "Applications" on the left side of the Finder window
Scroll down to the bottom and then open up the "Utilities" folder
Up towards the top is "Disk Utility". Double click it to start it
On the left of its window is your hard disk, probably called "Macintosh HD". Single click that
Now you have some buttons to do a "Verify Disk" and a "Verify Disk Permissions".
Try both of them and report back -
IPhone 3GS, photo app crashes after update to iOS 4.0.1
After upgrading my 3GS to iOS 4.0.1, I can no longer use Apple's "photos" app. I start the app, it shows a blank page with pajama lines on it and then closes the app after maybe 20 seconds or so. It's worth mentioning that I have a lot of photos, ~15,000 of them, and most of them are both geocoded and with tagged faces. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?
Try cutting down the number of photos you have stored on your phone (make sure they are backed up first). I say dwindle it down to a hundred. Just to see if it is because of too many pics for the app to go over, especially with the added data of face tag and geo location. You can always put them back on your phone if you still run into the same issue with far less pics. You also may want to make sure the app has been updated to be compatible with iOS4. Which app are you using by the way?

IPhone 4 apps disappear after updating to iOS 5
Two people, one of them my sister, has reported that after updating to iOS 5 some of her apps have disappeared from the phone. I had not such thing other than iOS 5 loading all of the ones in my iTunes. Just wondering if this is happening to others too.
I too spoke to Apple in their store. They also told me it was a unique problem. They said that if it was encrypted and I didn't have the password I would have to start again "/ I have been able to get my contacts, music and apps back but the messages and pictures/videos appear to have gone forever. The advisor told me that the pictures shouldn't even be encrypted and should appear in 'iPod Photo Cache' but that folder hasn't been updated since March! I'm just relieved to have gotten my phone out of configuration mode lol!

Camera App Crash since update to IOS 7.1.1
Ever since I updated to IOS 7.1.1, i've noticed a strange behavior of the Camera app, on my iPhone 4S.
If I enable the HDR function, I can take a picture, but it will only save the non-HDR and then it crashes.
It's like it's having difficulties in saving the HDR photo.
When it occurs, I get the feeling that it might be memory related (as if it doesn't have enough free memory available to process & store the HDR photo).
I have enough memory available and also enough storage space.
This didn't occur before the 7.1.1 update.
I've tried a reboot of the phone, clean re-install in iTunes (iTunes redownloads the ipsw file), afterwhich I restore from latest backup, but the problem remains.
Anybody have any ideas, besides the ones i already tried?If you restore as a NEW device (not from a backup), does the same behavior occur?

Clicking noise and freezing during updating
Hello everyone, if anyone could help with the following problem i'd be more than grateful. my ipod recently wouldnt connect to windows and started making a clicking noise. to try an resolve this i have reset and restored. I thought this would solve the problem. However, when ipod is updating it seems to freeze, stop updating and clicking noise starts. the following message appears
the specified I/O operation on E: was not completed before the time out period expired.
the only way i can disconnect is to shut the computer down. My playlists appear but with no songs.
this is my 2nd ipod (clicking noise also happened so ipod was replaced in warranty) which is now out of warranty. I think my hard drive might be giving up? These discussions are my last hope! Do I buy a new ipod (possibly for the same thing to happen)? or is it worth getting it serviced? Does anyone out there have any ideas?Even i have a Ipod with a click wheel and is behaving similarly.
Once i connect it to the PC (using USB) it shows the "Do Not Disconnect" sign forever and even iTunes does not recognize it, the hard disk is making some clicking noise and after some time windows returns timeout error "The specified I/O operation on E: was not completed before the time out period expired" !!
I think we are in the same boat, What do we do ???

JDev log times and Daylight Savings
