AQEBJHotelSample  compilation problem in runit

Hi,
I have already installed an deploy this example. But I have this compilation error when the batch runit.bat runs this command:
javac -d . HotelBeanAgent.java
HotelBeanAgent.java:27: Class javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject not found in import
import javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject;
1 error
I have checked the classpath environment variable but I don't know what is the .jar or .zip file where this class is placed.
I apprecciatte if someone can tell me where is this class o how I can solve this problem.
Thanks a lot for your attention.....
Fernando.

Hi Fernando,
The class "javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject" is in the "rt.jar" file
that is part of the JDK, so you don't need to worry about explicitly
adding it to your classpath. However, this has not always been part
of the JDK. I don't remember exaclty, but I think it was first included
in JDK 1.2, so I'm guessing that this has something to do with your
environment -- but since you give no details of your environment (and
I'm afraid that I can't know what it is unless you tell me), then I
can't help you any more.
The following (peripheral, unimportant) details would help:
1. OC4J version
2. JDK version
3. Are you using JDeveloper?
Good Luck,
Avi.

  • Keyboard Problem while running Swing App on LINUX

    Hi All,
    We have a Swing based Application running on Windows Platform. We need to run the Application on LINUX. The Application does not have any problem and runs without problems for a few minutes but after that the keyboard stops to respond inside the application. Keyboard runs fine outside the application but no key events are recognized inside the application. Mouse is working fine even after the keyboard stops responding.
    Key Points:
         The keyboard is a PS/2 keyboard.
         Read Hat Fedora 5.0 is being used.
         The problems occur on both KDE and GNONE.
         The Java Version is jdk1.5.0_09
    The application is data entry application using EJB at server side. The client UI has lot of JTables and Desktop Panes/ Internal Frames. User use ctrl+tab, ctrl+shift+tab, tab, shift+tab, and other hot keys to navigate between Components. Listeners on keyboard Focus Owner are also used. We are unable to diagnose the problem because of the undeterminable nature of the problem. The problem occurs at anytime and does not occur on any special key/ combinations press.
    Thanks and Regards,

    http://www.simplyjava.com

    I've just installed the JDK 1.4 on my debian box. I
    can compile and run a basic Hello World app using
    System.println, but when I try to run a simple swing
    app, I get an error like:
    Exception in thread "main"
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
    at java.lang.... etc, etc.
    It goes on with about 30 different classes. It
    compiles fine, with no errors, but when it comes time
    to run, that's what I get. This is what I have in my
    .bash_profile as far as environment variables go:
    export JAVA_HOME="/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.1_01"
    export PATH="$JAVA_HOME/BIN:$PATH"
    export
    CLASSPATH="$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/:$JAVA_HOME/lib:."The code works fine in Windows, so unless there's
    something platform-specific, I don't think there's a
    problem there. I've checked to make sure I'm not
    running kaffe by accident and I'm definitely running
    the right java and javac. I'm out of ideas. Any
    suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    -dudley
    I may just be crazy, but your PATH looks a little screwy to me. I was under the impression that the standard java installation has its executables in the 'bin' directory, not the 'BIN' directory. Unless Debian has fallen to the evil empire, then I'm fairly sure file names are case-sensitive. I don't know if that will fix your problem though. Do you compile from the command line, or do you use an IDE???

  • Fpga compilation problem (generating cores)

    Hello.  I am working in a lab trying to compile an FPGA for the cRIO 9074 module.  There are no erros when beginning the compilation, and it runs smoothly until it reaches the "generating cores" step.  At this point the following message repeats itself
    All runtime messages will be recorded in
    C:\NIFPGA\jobs\XR923g4_G4EhsMk\coregen.log
    Saved CGP file for project 'coregen'.

    Generating implementation netlist for
    'ReallyLongUniqueName_ReallyLongUniqueName'...
    Running synthesis for 'ReallyLongUniqueName_ReallyLongUniqueName'
    This message repeats every 5 min or so for around 29 minutes, at which point the compiler stops, presenting the following error
    ERROR:sim - Cannot rename dependency database for library "mult_gen_v11_0", file

    ERROR:sim - Failed to generate 'ReallyLongUniqueName_ReallyLongUniqueName'.
       Failed executing Tcl generator.
    ERROR:sim:877 - Error found during execution of IP 'Floating-point v5.0'
    I have included the xilinx log.  For good measure I compiled an older FPGA we have running on a different chassis and it ran just fine, so it's not a problem with xilinx (at least I don't think it is).  I have spent the better part of two days wrestling with this issue and have found no viable solutions.  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
    Cheers,
    David

    Check out this document from Xilinx. It may be caused by your antivirus not allowing access to the files that Xilinx needs to overwrite while compiling.

    You need to make sure the source is for the same version i.e. if you run apache 2.0.52 you need the source of 2.0.52. I successfully ran mixed installs, but I would not recommend it. You can download the required source from Apache.
    As for your compiler problem, make sure you have /usr/ccs/bin/ in the your path, if you do not have it installed you will have to add the pkg SUNWsprot. You do not have 'make' in yout path.
    Make sure you have the following packages installed:
    SUNWbtool, SUNWsprot, SUNWtoo
    SUNWhea, SUNWarc, SUNWlibm, SUNWlibms
    SUNWdfbh, SUNWcg6h, SUNWxwinc, SUNWolinc,

  • Pro*Cobol PCO Compilation problem in Linux

    Hi,
    DB :oracle 11g on RHEL 5.5
    when we are compiling the (Pro*cobol ) PCO code it is giving us the error :

    when we change the pcbcfg.cfg file with flag : declare_section=no it's compile without error.
    But in this scenario cobol app doesn't run.
    if we declare the undeclared variable in the section
    EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION END-EXEC.
    PARAM-SOC PIC X(25).
    EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION END-EXEC.
    and compile it with declare_section=yes then cobol app. run fine.
    Are different files generated (cob,int,gnt) after compilation with the option declare_section=no and declare_section=yes.
    Pls help us in this regards. we have lot of file which having these issue and we don't want to do manual changes "EXEC SQL BEGIN" in it.

  • Can compile but cannot run.

    Dear Java Guru,
    Wish to find out why I can compile but cannot run. I encounter the following error: 'Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/media/jai/JAI
    at saveasone.<init>(saveasone.java:29)
    at saveasone.main(saveasone.java:21)'
    This does not happen on one PC but happened on another PC.
    The one can compile is XP, the other which cannot compile is Win2k Professional. Is there any other possible cause ?
    Please advise.

    The problem probably lies in the Classpath. I think you are using different environments for compiling and running. If you are using an IDE for developing your code, you might have set the classpath correctly there but not in the executing environment. As about the OS's you mentioned, I think the problem is still with your Environment Settings than OS settings.

    Hi Senthil,
    A few pointers:
    Since you are compiling the C++ version, you should probably be using g++, not gcc.
    The problem is probably that you don't have the HAVE_CXX_STDHEADERS flag defined. Try running the following instead:
    g++ -DHAVE_CXX_STDHEADERS -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.5/include EnvExample.cpp -L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.5/lib -ldb_cxx-4.5Let us know if that helps.

  • HELP.....!!!!! Chinese jsp compilation problem.....

    Hi,
    Could someone please help on the above mentioned?
    I'm using JDeveloper 3.2.3 for my program development under Chinese windows platform. I have created a simple JSP page, which contains few static Chinese words and I have included the line
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%>
    at the top of the page. When I tried to compile it using encoding "UTF8" (under compiler option), the compiler gave me this error:
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.jsp
    Error: (0) sun.io.MalformedInputException.
    Btw, when I have removed the line <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%> from the page and compile, I've got this error:
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.jsp
    Warning: (0) ISO-8859-1 character set may not match project compiler setting.
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.java
    Error: (0) malformed input character in C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.java.
    I do appreciate your help on this. Thank you.

    Here's some info one of the JSP Developers sent me:
    1. HELP.....!!!!! Chinese jsp compilation problem.....
    The customer is trying to parse a document generated by
    Windows's notepad. When saved in UTF-8, the byte
    order mark is saved too. We have a know bug that
    JSP parser doesn't recognize Byte Order Mark. The
    bug is : 1915285.
    2. CHINESE CHARACTER ON JSP
    . SQLPLUS depends on NLS_LANG setting. If you
    check the windows registry, the default of NLS_LANG
    depends on the OS. The user environment is Traditional
    Chinese, so does NLS_LANG. If we set NLS_LANG
    to .UTF8, SQLPLUS dumps the data in UTF8, however,
    the command prompt will have problem displaying them.
    . For JSP, as mentioned in a previous mail:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" %> for all languages
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=GB2312" %> for simplified Chinese
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=Big5" %> for traditional Chinese
    . When you enter Chinese characters on a browser,
    the data is automatically converted to page encoding
    (UTF-8 in your case) before sent back to the server.
    But your receiving servlet/JSP needs to have request
    encoding set correctly.
        I'm not sure about the JDeveloper environment,
    but here is a simple JSP you may try to verify your
    OC4J environment:
    a.    To set up the schema:
    connect scott/tiger
    create table tab01(col varchar2(100));
    b. Edit the connect string in nls.jsp
    c. Run the nls.jsp in oc4j instance.
    <!-- nls.jsp -->
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" %>
    <%@ page import="oracle.jdbc.*,java.sql.*,java.io.*"%>
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Hello</TITLE></HEAD>

    String user = "scott";

    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(connStr, user, passwd);
    if (paramValue == null || paramValue.length() == 0) { %>

  • JSP compilation problems

    Hi,
    I've got a rather strange problem, that hasn't really happened before.. It seems that suddenly OC4J is ignoring my .jsp... Somehow they are not being compiled and are run as straight html, tags and all intact and shown when I view the source...
    I am deploying my app inan ear file, this is the structure of that...
    testApp.ear
    | - /META-INF/application.xml
    - /META-INF/manifest.mf
    - test.war
    | - index.jsp
    - welcome.jsp
    - /WEB-INF/lib/web_clases.jar
    - /WEB-INF/web.xml
    - test-ejb.jar
    | - /META-INF/ejb-jar.xml
    - /META-INF/orion-ejb-jar.xml
    - bean class defs
    There are no complaints when I deploy the app.
    As far as the config is concerned I'm using my own web-site.xml and has my application setup inside that. When it deploys the application root is /applications/TestApp/test can this have anything to do with it??
    My jsp's are so simple its almost ridiculous. I am trying to setup a generic environment and avery simple deep cut sample application, and I an going to list session attributes (from the DB), and include a few tagibs as soon as I can get the B@**@rd to compile my jsps..
    <%@ page language="Java" %>
    <html>
    <body>
    <%
    int i =0;
    while (i++ < 5){
    %> (HTML)HELLO!
    <%=" Scriptvariable = " + i%>
    <%
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    This is the first tiem I am using the newer version of OC4J, I am now using 9.0.2.0.0 I think I was using 9.0.1.2.0 before (the one where the jar was still orion.jar, rather than oc4j.jar).
    Is there anything fundamentally different between these versions????????????????
    I am using SDK version 1.3.1
    Help appreciated..
    Regards
    // Johan Elmstrvm

    Johan,
    Couple of things you can check.
    - Do the sample jsps work fine.
    You should be able to access them at
    http://localhost:8888/examples/jsp/
    - deploy the ojspdemos.ear file that come with the standalone OC4J
    and check if you can run the samples. They include variety of samples
    including tag libs.
    Also note that with 902 to start OC4J you would type
    java -jar oc4j.jar

  • Removing compiler problem markers

    Does anybody know why I keep getting a pop up window that is
    telling me it can't find a marker id at some location number? I am
    getting one of these messages about every other time I save and
    compile and it is getting RATHER ANNOYING!!! What does it mean and
    how do I eliminate it???
    Thanks in advance for helping me lower my blood pressure!!!
    Have an Ordinary Day...
    KomputerMan ~|:-)

    Yes, I am now getting the same error - but slightly different
    wording
    Removing compile problem markers (Time of error: blah blah
    blah...)
    The details section states:
    An internal error occurred during "Removing compiler problem
    markers".
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    I'm able to compile the same code with no problem from the
    command line on a Linux box. Running the clean comand doesn't fix
    this unfortunately.
    Some background info: I'm running a FDS project against a
    JBoss server on a windows XP machine.
    So, I deleted my project and shut down flex builder. Then
    removed the project files (.actionScriptProperties, .project, &
    .flexProperties) and removed the project folder from the flex.war
    folder in the jboss server. Restarted Flex Builder and created a
    new project the same way the project was built. And wa-la the
    problem is gone.
    So, something has gone bad with the project, but I am not
    sure what because a look a the previous project files and they all
    seem normal. I was having problems with the project trying to
    create the "Output Directory" early, but a rebuild of the project
    seemed to fix that too.
    hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to take a labview application and compile it to run on an embedded processor?

    Hi
    I was wondering if anybody out there knows if it is possible to take a labVIEW application and compile it to run on an embedded processor (e.g. ARM7)?
    If so does anybody know what the required capability of the target processor is (i.e. RAM, ROM etc.) and what tools I need.
    Many thanks
    Ash

    Ash,
    There is also another option for processors like the ARM7.  You can load a PDA OS on it and use the LabVIEW PDA toolkit.  The LabVIEW PDA toolkit is MUCH easier to use and is quite a bit less expensive.  You will have the problem of getting the OS correctly configured, but in the long run, it may still be cheaper and easier.  I use it quite a bit with my Dell Axim X51v which has this processor and Windows Mobile 5.  There are still problems to work out, but not nearly what there are with LabVIEW Embedded.
    If you want to go the LabVIEW Embedded route and you need some help, let us know on this forum.  There are several of us that have experience and can help to guide you.
    Hope that this helps,

    All these System.out are just tests to see the output of the variables. It is just for test purposes.
    The wrong thing is, for example, when I write "System. (dot) ", the method list should appear (System.out , .err, .in, etc) but it is not listed. Happens with any default method.
    When I type it in another class, the method list appears.
    WHere or what should I check ?
