Archiving Project Structure?

There are some projects which have not been used .I want to archive such projects .
Please someone tell me the steps required to archive a project structure.

Archived project missing menu

I archived an idvd project w both menu and assets included, or whatever the 2 boxes are - i cannot remember.
I transferred the file to another machine (both intel - same os, versions, ect) but when i open the archived project, the video plays if i 'press play' but the menu never appears.
I should have saved as an ISO, as all I needed to do was burn multiple copies away from my main machine, but hindsight is 20/20.
Any ideas?

PS - I tried to switch themes and still was black, so maybe it's an idvd issue and not my archive?

The Archive saves all the Project assets and structure info, but if you used a theme not on the second machine (of the themes are in another directory path) I would expect problems.

Importing archived project from DVD

I used burn disk to arcive a project to a DVD. That seemed to work fine.
I then started a new project and tried to import the "archived project from the DVD and I keep getting this error:
The file could not be imported: The file “Macintosh Hard Disk/Volumes/Media Drive/Home movies/Billie Jo awards” can’t be imported; QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -43
So far I am unable to import this DVD or anything else into iMovie
Any Ideas?

Your Archived DVD Project will only open in iDVD.
To access the video you will need the burned copy of the DVD
To import your DVD you will need a DVD ripper. I use Mac the ripper http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22715.
If you want to only import the video (to edit or watch on your computer) chose in mode chapter extraction and select the ones you want (yes you can select them all). Then you will need to condvert the .VOB file (found in the video_TS file) to a .MOV or H264 using FFMpegX http://ffmpegx.com/download.html. If the binaries dont work just press cancel (you dont need them for this conversion). Then import your .MOV or .MP4 file into iMovie.
That should do it

How to block reusage of archived Project definition and WBS element numbers

Dear All,
We have archived our projects using the TC SARA and the Project definition and WBS elements numbers no more exist in tables PROJ and PRPS etc.. When I now try to create a new project, the system proposes the next open number or allows to enter a number which is the same as one of the archived projects. But in our organization we cannot reuse the Project definition and WBS element numbers (even if it is archived) as a rule.
Can anybody guide me what are the possibilities to block or avoid the reusage of the numbers of archived project definition and WBS elements in a fool-proof way?

One Workaround:
Use T code OPSJ and lock the project coding mask. Doing this you can not use this mask any more.
But you want to continue using the mask but with different numbers. Not sure how this can be acheived. lets wait for others view

How to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?

Hi,
I have created one project assigning different users in Solution manger. I want to risitrict some of the users to change the project structure but simultaneously allwoing the project documents to be created, edited or deleted using solar01 under Project documentation tab. For that I have followed the steps provided in the follwoing link.

I am able to restrict the users to change the project structure, but I am not able to allow access to the project documents. It gives me the message "You are not authorised to change the project". This fulfills my one of the requirements. But, Is there any way to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?. Any help will be apperitiated.

Basically there are 2 different authorization role ...you should look for and customize as per requirement in Z* namespace.
role - SAP_SOLAR01_ALL
this take care of objects in Solar01 like tab access etc
role -SAP_SOL_KW_ALL
this takes care of entire documentation within solman

Project Structure in SAP R/3 Replication Issues

I have some of the Issues while creating the Project Structure in cProjects.
1) The Project Structure getting generated in SAP R/3 is only mappped with WBS elements, why not Networks and Network Activies.
e.g

3) the Project generated in SAP Project Systems i.e the WBS Elements has status "MDLK" Master data locked.... Why is this set. Is it standard? Can we eliminate this?

Adobe AIR Launchpad - Not a valid archived project

I am trying to import the Adobe AIR Launchpad application into Adobe Flash Builder and receive "Not a valid archived project" error.
I am using;

You are talking about browser based AIR help and you are saying that in RoboHelp 9 you are not seeing AIR as an option to create the layout?

A keyframe h-142 error appears when opening a archived project in Adobe Premiere Elements 10

Whe I tryed to open a archived project in Premiere Element 10 a popup turned up with the message "Premiere Elements has encountered an error <pad>\keyframe\keyframe.h-142.
The project doesn't open.
Can anybody help me, to resolve this error. Is a patch avallable?

Issue with project structure...

Hi all,
Our projects are created from sales order through assembly processing. All wbs are of first level..the user By mistake manually made changes to the structure by dragging the wbs and dropping it under another wbs in the project thus making it a subordinate wbs I.e second level wbs. Now during the running of the result analysis for the first level wbs the system is giving an error to delete the ra data of the second level wbs before proceeding with the first level wbs and now the user has realized that project structure is changed. Can we go ahead and delete the ra data of the lower wbs and change the project structure back at this point? What implications will changing the structure have at this point?

Besides above suggestion, you can reorganize your structure by executing "Derive structure" in CJ20N.
Go to menu bar Project > Check/Derive Structure.
Note that this is possible before saving changes to system. in you case, when WBS element was dragged and placed under another WBS element, level of WBS also got changed.
These kind of issues are user induced and avoidance is very difficult. But we can still control implementing User Status. Try this option which will default at initial level and stays there till the closing of project.
You can select the object "Change Structure" and option - Forbidden.

I have a project ready in MS Project .
I want to make a roadmap out of it.
How is that possible? Do I have to manually edit roadmap structure?
OR Is it possible to upload Project Structure or Roadmap from MS Project to solution manager?

In answer to your specific question, it's not possible to create a Roadmap straight out of MS Project, in standard SolMan.

CJ20N - project structure and data import

Hello dear SAP specialists,
Does anybody ever created a ABAP program to import project structure and populate it with data?
I'm trying to start with something or get a working program to import some projects with data.
Actually the program should use BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN to create WBS and GUI_UPLOAD to read a text (cvs) file (LSMW can not be used:)

In the above code note how i have taken the same names for the fields in internal table as they are in the BAPI so that the mapping of data becomes easier, since i use MOVE CORRESPONDING.

Project structure built dynamically?

Hey,
This is something I frequently wonder about when taking over
someone elses work. I've got an existing structure for a project -
a bunch of classes all in different folders matching their class
definitions. What would be nice is if Flash behaved like Visual
Studio and kept it's project structure up to date like solutions
can be kept in VS. Since it doesn't I have to go through typing in
folder names all over the place and adding files at the end of
every path.
So does anyone know if there is something that will help me
create a project from a directory?

Does anyone know why the Delete archived projects is available in Delete Enterprise Objects in Project Online? As far as I know the backup functionality that exist in Project Server on premise is not present in Project Online, or have I missed something?

Archiving Projects on DVD`s in FCP X

I try to understand the ways to "archive projects" within the used events on DVDs
1) i want that only the used media in the final timeline (Project) is copied.
2) how can i minimize the data without corrupting the project -> deleting proxy and optimized media out of the folder before burning on DVD, so only the original media is there?
What is a easy way to do this, and later on to start the project without getting problems with lost media connections etc?

There is no full media manager in FCP. You can use the duplicate project function to duplicate the project together with only the clips used in the project, but it will be the whole clips. Do not duplcaite the render files. Unless it's a very small project, and the original media is heavily compressed, it's unlikely to fit on a DVD.
P.S. Most likely you will not be able to do much editing later, just trimming, unless you have all the media.

How do I get my pictures from archived project back into iphoto?

I trashed a few events from my current iphoto library to create some hard drive disk space. I thought they were backed up on another drive (that is all except one event with pics and movies in it). I have an archived dvd project with the pictures in it. How can I get the pics and movies from the archived project in iDVD into the current library of iPhoto?

Control-click on the iDVD archived project package and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Then go to the Contents/Resources/stills folder. See if your photo files are in there. Any movies or music files should be in the Contents/Resources/av folder.
