Are Oracle Install Files Code Signed?

Hi All
I appreciate that Oracle products can provide a CA service that allows exploitation of X.509 certificate and PKI related services (e.g., code signing), but does Oracle have its own corporate Code Signing CA to sign its own products and applications to ensure and prove that it is valid Oracle software.
I have been searching for an Oracle CA cert high and low on the Net and can find no evidence. Oracle's secure signing cert seems to be issued from Verisign?
Does Oracle get its code signing certs from Verisign?
Keep the faith dudes ;oD

1.2 Gigs of RAM is way more then is required, so you shouldn't really be running out of RAM. What is the available RAM (Task Manager), before the install starts? Is anything else running?
If you need to get this done in a hurry, then you should contact either Oracle or Compaq support about this. Either could help faster then waiting for someone who had the same problem respond to your post.
Like I said, I'm a UNIX guy so I can't really help further.

  • Oracle Installed Files locations

    Guys,
    Please explain me why Oracle stores some files (always) in C:\programFile\oracle, though we specifiy different drive/location for Oracle Home.
    And whats the significance of that particualr folder and is dere any way to avoid having any oracle fiels in SYSTEM Drive...??
    Regards,
    www.techietraits.blogspot.com

    On windows platforms it stores generic used files, such as those used by the Oracle Inventory and JInitiator and its own jre environment.
    - bin
    - Inventory
    - JInitiator 1.3.1.22
    - jre
    - oraconfig
    - oui
    What you see installed on other directories, explicitly declared are the Oracle Home related directories.

  • Extensions are not installing: Error code 1

    I have just installed Adobe Exchange panel, but can not install any extension. I get this error on Photoshop: “Installation failed with error code: 1. The zxp installer has been copied to your documents folder”. If I try to install from that folder on My Documents, Adobe Extension manager reports "The extension is not valid. Extension won't install” (I'm translating from Spanish).
    I have tried "free" and "Creative Cloud suscribers" extensions with no luck, from the Adobe Exchange panel and just by launching the extension packs: nothing works.
    My Extension manager version: 6.0.5.9 (Adobe Extension Manager CS6)
    OS: Windows 7, 64 bits (service pack 1)

    I can't install this extension with my account at present. Please generate log files using the steps below:
    1. Open Finder.
    2. Navigate to "Applications/Utilities".
    3. Double click "Terminal.app" to launch it.
    4. In the Terminal window, input the following command (including double quotation mark) then press "return" key.
        cd "/Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS6/Adobe Extension Manager CS6.app/Contents/MacOS"
    5. Input the following command then press "return" key.
        sudo touch ExManLog.YES
    6. When being prompted, input the password of administrator user then press "return" key. A file named "ExManLog.YES" should have been created in this folder.
    7. Try to install extension.
    8. After installation failure, exit Extension Manager.
    9. Get log files from "/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/". Note that the folder "/Users/<UserName>/Library/" is hidden by default. You can open Finder, press "option" key when click menu item "Go"->"Library" to go into this folder.

  • Where are Oracle files in RAC on Linux

    I took over a 2 nodes 11g RAC on Linux recently. The company hired a contract installed RAC late 2008 and did not left any document. Thus I do not know ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME. I looked into oratab, it exists but is empty. oraenv exist but not help. I tried to start the RAC but could not find find Oracle binaries. I tried to look at listener configuration, but could not find listener.ora file. There are directories like /u02/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1, but it is empty.
    I did some thorough search using cmmands like below but find nothing useful.
    find / |grep listener
    find / |grep .ora
    ls -Rl |grep <admin, init ...>
    These files should be on the shared disk. Would shared diskmount under / in Linux? whould above commands apply to shared drive? Why I cannot find Oracle installed files.
    Appreciate any opineans and sugegstion

  • NSUserDefaults stopped working after installing code sign certificates (?)

    The following code has worked fine in the iPhone simulator.
    NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults];
    myFloat = [userDefaults floatForKey:@"myFloat"];
    myString = [userDefaults stringForKey:@"myString"];
    Today I installed the code signing certificates and all the updates necessary to deploy my code to a device. That part works fine, and I'm able to install and run my apps on the iPhone device.
    The problem is that the above code has stopped working. myFloat is now always 0.0 and myString is now always nil. If I go into the Settings app, my preferences UI is still there and I can change and persist the preference values. But my app no longer sees those values.
    I'm assuming this broke because of the changes related to code signing and device deployment, but I'm not sure since there is no way (?) to roll back those changes.
    Has anyone else encountered this problem?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    I have the same issue with SDK Beta 7, I can't get my preferences to persist (although in my case I'm not using the Settings app to alter settings). This is what I am doing:
    +(void) initialize
    NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults];
    NSDictionary *appDefaults = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObject:@"YES" forKey:@"SomeValue"];
    [defaults registerDefaults:appDefaults];
    in initwithFrame:
    if ([[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] boolForKey:@"SomeValue"]) {
    [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:@"NO" forKey:@"SomeValue"];
    } else {
    [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:@"YES" forKey:@"SomeValue"];
    and I synchronize in applicationWillTerminate. Settings just don't persist.

  • BlackBerry : How to OTA Install my RIM signed .cod file on the handset ?

    Blackberry :
    I am using phone book access in my project.
    I created the .cod file using rapc and signed it online using signatureTool and RIM provided key.
    I am able to install this RIM signed .cod file of my project to the handset BlackBerry 7100G using usb cable and .alx file
    with Desktop Manager. It works perfect.
    I have already set the mime type for .cod on my server.And put the signed .cod, .jar and .jad files. With my wap page having
    link to the jad file.
    When I open this wap page from my Black Berry 7100G Browser and clik on the link, I see the details of my application. Then I
    press download, it starts the download but then gives error in JAD.
    For the project version without PIM, where no signature is required I am able to download it OTA on the handset using the
    .jad & .jar file only.
    Issues that I feel are creating this problem.(I am using JDE 4.0.2)
    1) RAPC.exe added RIM specific attributes to jad file that shows project.cod & project-1.cod with different byte sizes and
    different SHA-1 codes.
    But in the bin directory, after runing rapc over the jad & jar file I get only project.cod with size almost same as the
    sum of project.cod & project-1.cod and project-1.cod is not found.
    2) RAPC adds the SHA-1 code & byte size to jad file. But when I use SigntureTool to sign the .cod file its size is changed
    but the jad file is not updated by it.
    Thank you,
    Amitabh

    Since my last post I have been discussing this issue with commercial application developers and have been experimenting with various applications.
    Firstly, let's make the JAR/JAD situation absolutely clear. Some, but not all, applications unquestionably require the JAD file as a part of the installation process. If the application is a "signed" application then the security authorisation is contained within the JAD file, not the JAR file. The JAD file is created from the JAR file and contains security verification information that is separate from the JAR file and which enables the application to signed as kosher.
    The Nokia PC Suite Application Installer does not need to show you the JAD file. The JAR file is sufficient. If you install the application from a folder on your PC that contains both the matching JAR and JAD files then Application Installer will correctly install the application from both the JAR and JAD files. If the folder ONLY contains the JAR file then it will only install from the JAR file. I have proved this.
    So, if you cannot get the application to work then the reason is not the installation process. The reason is far more likely to be that you are trying to install the application on a branded handset rather than on a standard Nokia handset. Some service providers heavily modify the base standard software that Nokia installs on its vanilla handsets and these modifications may well include changes to security authorisation rules that will prevent many applications working on handsets that they sell.
    I am in dispute with one such as we speak. I will not name them right now but if I am unable to achieve a satisfactory outcome then be assured I will let EVERYONE know. Thank God for YouTube.

  • 3.6.16 can chain Verisign code signing intermediate certificate ("2010 CA") in an xpi file even though it is not installed int its cert store, but 4.0 does not. Why does 4.0 not chain this cert?

    Certs that are in FF 4.0 on the signing workstation using Key Manager (I imported the "2010 CA"cert):
    Company cert
    VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 CA
    52 00 e5 aa 25 56 fc 1a 86 ed 96 c9 d4 4b 33 c7
    VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5
    25 0c e8 e0 30 61 2e 9f 2b 89 f7 05 4d 7c f8 fd
    Verisign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority
    70 ba e4 1d 10 d9 29 34 b6 38 ca 7b 03 cc ba bf

    Turns out that Key Manager is apparently not compatible with 4.0. I uninstalled 4.0 from the signing workstation, installed 3.6.x and Key Manager again, then signings contained the chain for the client running either 3.6 or 4.0.

  • Running Oracle 9i client code against an Oracle 10g install on PC

    On Unix I am able to run Oracle 9i client code against an Oracle 10g install by setting ORACLE_HOME to the Oracle 10g install location and then creating a symbolic link (example: ln -fs libclntsh.so.10.1 libclntsh.so.9.0).
    On PC (in particular XP SP2) I want to do something similar without using "junctions" or "junction points". Is there a way to set an environment variable or ini file to have my 9i client code point to the right libraries? I keep getting an error saying that my client code will not run due to "orasql9.dll" not being found. The "orasql10.dll" is installed on my machine.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    You might want to check metalink doc,

    Doc ID: Note:207303.1
    Even your application built on 9i, doesn't mean it will not work with 10g database. From what I can see, running 9i executable under 10g installation to create mixed blood breed will do more harm than good. Not only it's not supported but also the outcome is unpredictable.

  • Import Oracle DataBase dump file Into Sql Server With out connection oracle using c# code.

    Hi All,
    I would like to ask how can imports my dump oracle database file data and struct into sql server 2005
    with out make connection oracle.
    best regards.
    Hakim.

    Hi Hakim.
    Based on your title, what I understood there is a issue regarding transfer oracle db dump to sql database using C# code. Am I right? If so, I am afraid there is no build-in method which meet your requrements in .NET framework. You must provides
    OraDump  Export API to allow developers integrate corresponding capabilities  into their applications. These capabilities are about export data from  Oracle dump files into popular databases like Microsoft SQL server. Every developer
    having OraDump Export API can write just few lines of code on C# or  Visual Basic to implement the appropriate export process.
    I am search a third-party link, but it's a paid service.

  • CS4 Flash Projector File and Authenticode (Code Signing)

    I have a flash projector file (.exe) that I need to add Code Signing to it so it does not say 'Unknown Publisher' in Vista. I read that for CS3 there is no authenticode signing. Was this added in CS4? I just want to check before I go ahead and purchase a 3rd party app like Juggler. Does anyone else have a suggestion for software to add authenticode signature to a CS4 flash projector file? Jugglor is pretty old (2007) and I would like to know if there are more recent apps to package and sign projector files.
    Thanks for any info.
    Doug

    You can use a tool from Miscsoft to sign your projector. Here's how:
    1) Buy a code signing certificate from someone like COMODO, Entrust Thawte, or VeriSign
    2) Download the command line code signing tool from Microsoft - SignTool.exe
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8s9b9yaz(VS.80).aspx
    2) Follow these instructions

    Hi,
    Which OUI you are using to deinstall 11gR2? It means you have some other oracle software also installed on your lap top. In 11G, you can't use OUI to deinstall the 11gr2 software and you need to user deinstall utility instead. Either you can download deinstall utility from OTN, or you can also run it from oracle home which you are deinstalling, as follows
    On your command prompt, replace ORACLE_HOME with the oracle home path on your laptop then execute following.
    ORACLE_HOME\deinstall\deinstallFor OEM database control, your DBSNMP account is locked. Unlock that account.
    Follow following commands steps you configure it.
    emca -repos recreate
    emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
    emca -config dbcontrol dbSalman
