Arrrrrrgh errror 1120 in my code any have any ideas or a gun to end my AS life.

Question

1120: Access of undefined property dropMenus_mc.�
this is the line
dropMenus_mc.gotoAndStop(navBar_mc.getChildAt(1).name);
I'm building a drop menu if you cant tell and have decided to drink the  rest of the night since adobe is usless to my high end design needs.
the rest of my code is below if it helps.  perhaps i should have been a  motorcycle mechanic instead of atempting action coding 3.0

I don't understand. Ill the object exists in that frame, and is  labeled how do i navigate it to the correct position? or the question i  should ask is how do i define the property dropMenus_mc that does exist  in the frame that my action script layer is instructing
I could scream! excuse my newbie status.  are there any  good tutorials that adobe has that walk threw allot of this stuff.   coming  from a design background to programing is different mind set.
