Article Creation Using workflow

Hi Experts,
i am new to workflow.
i have a requirement to Create a Article using workflow. i am using BO BUS1001006. and my requirement is to fill the data in mm01 with different agents.
Now my main problem is now how can we give a user only BASIC DATA screen of MM01 and 2nd user only MRP data screen and 3rd so on.... i.e BASIC DATA input guy should not have access to MRP and vice versa..hope u understood.
How to Achieve this requirement. can you please explain.

You might want to talk to the MM and/or authorization guys - they should know this stuff. This is hardly a workflow issue (at least at this point). Do few searches here in SCN with key words "material master", "screen sequences", "authorization roles" or "restrict material master views" etc. and that should bring you to the right direction.

    I still want to point out that you don't necessarily need a workflow. Maybe you could call the BAPI for creating the sales order at the same point when you change user status in this quotation (I don't know really what you mean by this, and how you do this). Maybe the workflow solution is the correct one, but it isn't always the case. You are in workflow forum and people are enthusiastic about using it for everything (including myself ;). But let's say you wanted to have a control about the sales order creation already in the user status change - for example if the sales order couldn't be created, you would like to issue an error message for the user doing the status change - in this kind of case the WF solution would not probably be the best one, because the workflow will execute the BAPI in the background.
    But I am sure you will find the best solution for your requirement.

  • How to Debugg workflow for Article Creation using MM41 In IS Retails System

    Existing system they are using business BUS1001006,Event Created for triggering workflow when you create article using transaction code MM41.
    I could see one more business object named ZBUS100106 for triggering workflow when you Create an article.
    I just want to debugg the workflow to add some additional validations to trigger workflow when i can create article using transaction code MM41.
    Let me know how to debugg the workflow.

    ZBUS100106 is nothing but Custom Business Object of BUS100106 creating by extending BUS100106.
    You can debug Business Object code thru putting breakpoint in Code and executing the Business Object thru SWO1.
    For your requirement you could possibly use SWB_COND Tcode so as to limit workflow lanches.

    This is my scenario .
    Initially when a new Material created it will have only the Basic 1 & 2 views alone .
    At the same time a workflow have to be triggered such that it have to send to a workitem to person who should define the MRP views only not other views of the material after it is finished another workitem to another person to define the account assignment views only not other views .Kindly help to proceed.

    If you have done that then you are almost on the verge of completion!
    Follow this binding procedure between the task container and the method container and get the results.
    In the BO method, add an output parameter that would store the plant detail.
    Now create a data element in the method code of the same type as plant detail type.
    Then use swc_set_element to store the value of the plant detail in the output parameter.
    In the workflow task, create an output parameter of the same type as the BO method output parameter.
    In the binding between the task container and the method container fetch the value of plant details from method container to task container element.
    Now pass this parameter to the workflow container and use in the send mail step in the mail text.
    Make sure to save and generate the BO after doing all the changes.

  • Custom List Form creation using Powershell - SharePoint 2013

    I have a custom List called 'IssuesList' with 4 fields - "IssueTitle","IssueID","IssueDesc","Status"
    While displaying display form I should show 3 fields expect Issue ID i.e. IssueID should be hidden.
    and on edit form only Status field should be editable. So using SharePoint designer I created respective Edit form and display forms and changed XSLT to control the display mode on the fields.
    I have everything scripted in powershell till now - creation of custom list, publishing pages, webparts etc. however I am looking for how to provision or associate these 2 list forms with IssuesList after I create the list in new site.
    I have restrictions on using wsp and site/list template due to business needs. So I need to know if there is any way I can upload these 2 files after I create custom list in powershell and associate them as defaultdisplay and defauteditforms?

    Per my understanding, you might need to apply these custom forms to a list after list creation using PowerShell.
    With PowerShell with SharePoint Object Model, we can hide fields on list forms.

    If there may be other requirements except for hiding fields, as you have limitation on using custom solution package(which should be preferable in such scenario),
    a workaround I can provide is that, after list creation, you can add Content Editor Web Part contains the CSS style or JavaScript to the form pages of a specific list, it will help you hide/disable the specific elements, this can be achieved programmatically.

  • Vendor create process using workflow

    hello,
    I have been assigned a project to desgin a process to automatically create a vendor. below is what I think has to be done. can this be reviewed to see if this is the correct approch and if not, suggest a better approach.
    1) the vendor will sign onto our portal and submit their information to have them created as a vendor in our system. this information will be stored in a custom table
    2) the portal process will have a ABAP program that generates the screen for the user to enter thier data. this program will also start a workflow that will send a notification to a person inside our company for them to review the information and decide weather the vendor can be added.
    3) if the person approves the request, the workflow will submit a process to create the vendor, and send a approval email to the vendor
    4) If the person rejects the process, the workflow will send an rejecction email will be sent to the vendor
    I am in charge of creating the workflow and submitting the vendor create process

    I'd also suggest looking at the Sample Workflow Processes included with Oracle Workflow.

    Could anyone give me a case study describing how to create a new process using workflow builder? Where are the notifications saved in the database? Where is the process saved? Give me a general flow of events in the creation of, say a document management process wherein all these details are specified. A document containing the whole flow involved in the creation of a process using workflow builder. What all PL/SQL procedures I need to write and all. I have both workflow server and builder installed.
    This would be of immense help.

  • Function module for Article creation (transaction MM41)

    Hello,
    I have been trying to create an article which is normally done using transaction MM41.
    I am trying to use BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to do this, but since article creation is different  from regular material creation, there are fields that are not available, for example article category (MARA-ATTYP).
    Another problem encountered with the BAPI is that the industry section is a required input.  For MM41 it is not a required field.
    Therefore, is there an available function module aside from the BAPI mentioned above that can perform article creation?
    If the BAPI above is sufficient, how can I properly populate the necessary fields?
    Additional information:  requirement is developed in 4.6c.
    provide the code I've been working on if asked.

    To extend the article to another distribution channel you need to populate the salesdata/salesdatax structures of the BAPI.  For example:
      CLEAR wa_salesdata.
      wa_salesdata-material            = material.
      wa_salesdata-sales_org           = salesorg.
      wa_salesdata-distr_chan          = dstchan.
      wa_salesdata-item_cat            = itemcat.
      wa_salesdata-matl_stats          = '1'.
      APPEND wa_salesdata TO i_salesdata.
      CLEAR wa_salesdatax.
      wa_salesdata-material            = material.
      wa_salesdata-sales_org           = salesorg.
      wa_salesdata-distr_chan          = dstchan.
      wa_salesdatax-item_cat            = 'X'.
      wa_salesdatax-matl_stats          = 'X'.
      APPEND wa_salesdatax TO i_salesdatax.
    I believe the important data you need to have are material, sales org, and distribution channel.

  • BAPI for ARTICLE creation in IS-Retail

    I am creating an Article using BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT by passing below parameters for Basic view.
    1.material type
    2.merchandise category
    3.material category
    4.description
    5.uom
    6.transportation grp
    7.loading grp.
    8.valuation class
    9.tax class
    Also marked X in respective places in structures clientdatax,plantdatax,headdatax etc.
    Anyhow still it showing errors like "key field of table MARA missing"
    I am able to create article from MM41 using above 9 fields.
    What fields shd be passed to this BAPI to create an ARTICLE?
    OR ANY OTHER BAPI/RFC FM EXIST TO CREATE ARTICLE?
    Please help me in this regard.

    I have to call BAPI for Article creation from Portal front end.
    so I cant use BAPI_RETAILMATERIAL_CREATE as it goes to MM41 when we execute.
    So I am using BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT to create article.
    I passed all mandatory data which is required to create a article with basic view.
    Using MM41, I am able to create but with this BAPI iam unable to create article.
    Could you please tell me what are the required parameters to be passed in addition to my fields which I  specified below:
    I passed
    HEADDATA--material type,merch.category, material category,basic view marked x.
    MATERIAL DESC--material description
    CLIENT DATA--uom,transportation grp, tax class
    CLIENTDATAX---marked X in above fields
    PLANTDATA-loading grp

  • Moving document using workflow from sub site to site collection

    Hi,
    I was looking for steps to move documents from sub sites to site collection or from sub site to sub-site in SharePoint 2013. I tried with reusable workflow but unable to set the target library which is in site collection level. Its not listing down the site
    collection libraries. It is showing libraries in sub site.
    Any ideas how it can be done by workflow? or any other approaches there ?

    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to move document from one site to another site using workflow.
    There is no out of the box action to achieve it in SharePoint.
    However, there is an avaiable activity Copy List Item Extended Activity in the CodePlex, you can have a look at it.

    Note: the activity should be used in the SharePoint 2010 workflow platform.
    We can also use the site content and structure to achieve it(within the site collection ) .
    Make sure you have following features activated:

    Then go to: Site Actions >> Site Administration>>Content and Structure

  • Error in : Purchase order Creation using BAPI_PO_CREATE1

    Hell  guys,
    I am trying to create a PO using a BAPI - BAPI_PO_CREATE1
    I want the new PO to have all the characteristics of an existing PO. whose PO # is  stored in wa_order_split_create-docnr and for the new PO, i want the quantity from wa_order_split_create-qty_acptd and the delivery data to be wa_order_split_create-dly_date. But this process and code below gives a short dump in the std FM - MEPO_DOC_ITEM_GET . It raises an exception of failure. I am trying to create many new PO's in the loop below. If there is just one row, sometimes, it creates the PO even with the exception failure ( which is pretty weird).
    Am i making any mistake while filling the header or item or schedule lines for the BAPI_PO_CREATE1 ? Any tips or clues why I am getting a dump ?

    Hell guys,
    I am trying to create a PO using a BAPI - BAPI_PO_CREATE1
    I want the new PO to have all the characteristics of an existing PO. whose PO # is stored in wa_order_split_create-docnr and for the new PO, i want the quantity from wa_order_split_create-qty_acptd and the delivery data to be wa_order_split_create-dly_date. But this process and code below gives a short dump in the std FM - MEPO_DOC_ITEM_GET . It raises an exception of failure. I am trying to create many new PO's in the loop below. If there is just one row, sometimes, it creates the PO even with the exception failure ( which is pretty weird).
    Am i making any mistake while filling the header or item or schedule lines for the BAPI_PO_CREATE1 ? Any tips or clues why I am getting a dump ?

  • To send mail for cancelled jobs in SM37 to basis team using workflow.

    Dear All,
      I have a requirement to implement a workflow that will trigger a mail to basis team if there are any jobs with status Cancelled.
      I found a business object type 'BPJOB' which has an event Cancelled. I tried to test if the workflow is triggered when a job is cancelled using transaction SWELS. But it doesnt trigger any workflow.
      I tried finding a BADI/EXIT but there are no enhancements present for the transaction.
      We already have a report which will trigger an email to the concerned basis person when the job is cancelled but the client wants it using a workflow.
      I need to know whether there are any other ways to fulfill this reqt using workflow?

    Hi SM
    try using BPJOB_SMAN, which is an object for Schedule Manager.
    check if it throws any event of BPJOB_SMAN.
    If yes, then use a WF which would send/notify mail to BASIS.

  • How to configure oracle alerts to use Workflow mailer?

    Hello Guys:
    We were trying to setup oracle alerts using workflow mailer. I have created a dedicated mailer for handling oracle alerts related mail.
    Here is what I need to clarify:
    1. Having setup a new mailer for Oracle alert do I have to still configure the Options in Oracle Alerts. This is where you choose which type of mail u want to use ( like Unix mail,Windows NT mail )
    2.How do I tell oracle alert to use the new mailer that I created exclusively for this? While creating the mailer at some point I remember putting ALR in configuration form.
    I am on 11.5.10 CU2. I am on 11i.ATG_PF.H

    Based on the note I realised that my oracle alerts will user unix sendmail. But then If u go to " Oracle Alert Options "
    -- > Mail systems -- I check Unix send mail
    -- > Mail server options ( Do I have to fill this section? )
    My guess is that the send mail will post the email to a IMAP account ( I created oraclealert account ) and IMAP account will push the alert email to Recipient

    Mail Priority --- Normal
    Accounts
    Application Installation username Password
    Blank ** Blank ** oraclealert pwd
    Blank ** Blank ** oraclealert pwd
    ** - It wont allow me to choose an application.
    Is there a simple test to make sure that my oracle alert is working or not? I appreciate your help.
