AS3.0 Slider to slide timeline is duplicating first frame. Why?

I have made a slider that I am having issues with. This slider is to control the timeline of a movie clip when dragged. My problem with this is that It seems to be duplicating the first frame. When I slide the slider to the right it will hit first tick and still display what is in frame 1 .. then on the next ticks it will continue with the rest of the timeline. Any Ideas how to prevent / over come my slider from doing this with the first frame? I have dificulty explaining so I have atached an example.

here is the code I am using for the slider. It controls numbers_mc that contains frames 1-16 all numbered 1-16 These numbers will be replaced later with images. Thanks

AS3 plays all Movieclips in timeline before a given frame?!?

Ok, I am going to try to explain this problem as best I can,
but it is kind of hard to put into words... It seems like a bug to
me, but I could be wrong, maybe this is the way AS 3 supposed to
work.
I have 4 movieClips in my library named
"MC1","MC2,"MC3","MC4" Each with 2 layers and 2 frames, on Layer 2
is just a textfield that says what movieclip it is, Like "MC1"
which spans 2 frames, on layer 1 I have trace commands...
On frame 1
trace("MC1 Start") //this obviously changes to MC2
Start...etc with whatever movieclip i am in
on Frame 2
trace("MC1 Stop")
On the Stage timeline here is what I have
Frames 1-4 -- Blank
Frames 5-10 -- MC1
Frames 10-14 -- MC2
Frames 15-19 -- MC3
Frames 20-24 -- MC4
If in frame one I say--
gotoAndStop(15)
which is where MC3 resides, here's what I get in the output
window:
MC1 Play Start
MC2 Play Start
MC3 Play Start
MC3 Play Stop
If I put:
gotoAndStop(20)
Which is where MC4 resides, heres what output says:
MC1 Play Start
MC2 Play Start
MC3 Play Start
MC4 Play Start
MC4 Play Stop
So in AS3 if you go to a frame number each and every
movieclip before that given frame is loaded into memory and the
first frame plays?!? Is this how it is supposed to work?
The reason I even started examining this, is because if you
have an embedded sound in any of those movieclips and you go to
frame 20, all embeded sounds before that clip will play as well. Am
I missing something here, or is this a bug? Please let me know. If
there are any questions about the problem, I will be happy to
provide an .fla.

I am using a volume slider component that was created using AS2 and I'd like to recreate it in AS3, but am not quite sure how to get started.

want to get fancier, well audio volume perception is logarithmic so slight movements in the start of your volume control seem to make a huge difference and less difference at the higher end.
so you should adjust for that

We prepared simple Word Press web site. We used a Revolution slider plugin with HTML5 video layer. It works properly on Chrome, Safari, older Mozilla FF.
But we had a problem on PC computers with FF 29.0 30.0 – after reinstall of browser everthing seems to be OK. The slider works. Unfortunately even the reinstallation on Mac computers does not help. There is no visible video on Mac FF 30.0.
We are looking for some information what we can do to solve this problem. Could you help?

Published Captivate 6 project freezes on slide immediately before the first question slide

I am running both CP6 and CP7 on Windows 7.
I am still working on projects created with Captivate 6 in Captivate 6. However, since installing CP7, any projects that I edit and publish with CP6 freeze up on the slide just before the first question slide.
Since I have only begun experiencing this issue since CP7 was installed, I am assuming that it is something to do with the fact that i have both versions (6 and 7) installed.
The only solution I have found so far is to open and publish the project in CP7, but this is not ideal as the projects I am working on in CP6 are new versions of ones already published in SAP LSO and I am concerned that publishing new versions of my courses from a different CP version will cause issues in LSO.
Any ideas why this might be happening? Ideally, I would prefer to continue to use CP6 for existing projects and only use 7 for new projects.

Have you created those projects in CP 6 from Scratch?
Can you check the complete version of CP 6 (Help > about Adobe Captivate), it should be 6.0.1.240 or 6.1.0.319.
Can you test with a blank new project in CP 6 after running it as Administrator (Right Click on CP 6 icon, then select run as admin).

I have a presentation with 100 slides. During the first 10 slides I want one song to start playing from slide

I have a presentation with +100 slides. During the first 10 slides I want one song to start from the beginning, at the 11th slide a new song starts from the beginning, and so on during the entire presentation. How do I do? Thanks in advance. janfromfinland

This is a very common request which unfortunately has not been satisfactorily answered albeit for very complicated workarounds using multiple duplicates of your keynote file and hyperlinking them.
The easiest alternative is to have iTunes play in the background timed to begin when you manually start the keynote. You can create a playlist so the tracks run into each other, or better yet combine them into one track using a free editor like GarageBand. You'll need to rehearse your timings. Hopefully, youre not trying to match lyrics with words or animations as this is not the most exact way to do so.
The alternative is to create a separate keynote file of those 10 slides and export them to QuickTime, reimport the movie into keynote and add the music track to the file. That will give more accurate timing. The most accurate timing would be tom import the QuickTime movie into iMovie and add the soundtrack with exact timings. Ive done this successfully except for the fact that exporting this way fools around with any build timings.
S the final alternative is to do your first 10 slides with music from iTunes and advance the slides manually using screenflow or the latest QuickTime in lion to record the screen Inc music.
All troublesome but doable workarounds until Apple comes to our aid.

When I attempt to add a new key frame into the timeline it adds several frames to my animation

I am trying to edit an FLV file with flash professiona. Right now every frame is on long frame sequence, meaning that right now there is only one key fram in the entire 40 second animation. I am trying to add put key frames at various points in my animation but when I attempt to add a new key frame into the timeline it copies ever frame up to the selected and adds it to the front of my timeline. Any Idea how to fix this? I want to break my video up so I can add some shape tweens in between some of the frames

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Premiere CC 2014's timeline bar showing one frame ahead

Hey guys, my timeline bar sometimes shows a "extra blue bar" that really annoys me.
As you can see in the picture, the timeline bar is at frame 39;05 but because of that extra blue bar, it shows the next frame in the program monitor, or even when i set the out point, the out is after that extra blue bar.
How do I get rid of it, and make the timeline bar normal function again? Tried every Ctrl +/Alt+/Shift+/Ctrl+Alt+/Ctrl+Alt+**** possible combination and couldn't find a solution.
Sorry if that's been answered but didn't know how to search for that issue!

I selected the entire project that was completely rendered and hit render and it did 0 of 2 frames 1 video preview.. then 4 frames 2 video previews up to about 50 previews. Eventually looks like it has rendered. Hit play and the video clips its pausing on are now completely green shots. Not had this on PPro or CC before. I have a Quadro 2000 and usually runs perfectly. In fact there is not chance of it being my card. It's definitely to do with the update.

Yes, you can do this. Drag the music track to the background and start adding your pictures. A great way to do this is to use beat markers so your photos will change on the beat.
A really fast way to do this is to line up your photos in an iPhoto album in the order you want them. You can drag the whole album into iMovie at once.

Jumping from Main Timeline to a specific frame of a MovieClip

Hello there!
I'm a begginer with Flash... and I am attending a course of fundamentals of Flash... so I apologize if my doubt is a too obvious answer to some of you.
The situation is as follows:
I'm using Action Script 2.0 --- I'm obligated to in the course I'm attending.
I have a main timeline that has 3 frames. On the 2nd frame I have a movieclip named mc_nbr. On the 3rd frame I have a button "voltar" that when pressed I want it to "Go and Stop/Play" at frame 3 of the movieclip (that is embedded on frame 2 of the main timeline).
I used the folowing code for the button btn_voltar:
on (press)
    _root.mc_nbr.gotoAndStop("3");
I tried as well with
on (press)
   this.mc_nbr.gotoAndStop("3");
None of them works!
I tried to see wheather the button even works and it does.
I included a input text box and the stament before the code shown above like the one that follows:
feedback.text = "Pressionei o botão!";
So the part missing (and the important one) is jumping to the movieclip. I can't figure out how to do it !!!

Slip or slide assets in timeline less than 1 frame increments?

Hello everybody,
I'm using Premiere pro CS4 to try to do videos, I'm noticing that the audio and video are drifting apart. As I try to line up the audio with the video, I'm noticing that files in the timeline seem to be lined up with a 1 frame grid. Unfortunately, at times I need to slide audio a half of a frame to exactly line up everything. If anyone has any advice I'd love to have it. Thank You very much for taking the time to help.

You can change the audio display from frames to audio units to move / edit audio at much smaller increments than frame.
Use flyout menu on timeline to enable "Show audio time units"

Is there a way to use AS3 in slide presentation?

I'm trying to use text effects, but cannot get them to work in a slide presentation. Is there anyway to utilize AS3 in this AS2 based function? I need to use a slide show so that the presenter can control the speed of his presentation.

it doesn't matter how you create an flv or what you use to create an flv. if it's a valid flv you can play it using as2 and you can play it using as3.

Powerpoint Master Slide only works on first 600 slides

I have a presentation with 3600 slides in PowerPoint 2010 and I'm trying to use a master slide to change the font color and background color of all slides. I've created a master slide and have changed the background color and all the slides did change.
However when I change the font color only the first 600 slide changed there font color. I changed the font on all the different levels of slides in the slide master.

In PowerPoint, the Slide Master is the template for your presentation. If you make a change to the Slide Master, it will change for your entire presentation. However, if you have already applied formatting to one of your individual slides, it
will not follow the guidelines of the Slide Master. He had changed the layout and formatting on some of his individual slides, and then made changes to the Slide Master, thinking that the changes would be applied to the slides that he had edited
individually.
To reapply the Slide Master formatting to several slides at once, you can select multiple slides and following the same steps from Home > Slides > Reset.
