AS3: Customising the Flash List/Datagrid Components to add check

Hi all
I'm creating a large app in Flash AS3.
I want to display a list of names in a List component.
When the user clicks on the name, I would like the list to split and reveal the
phone numbers associated with this person (work, mobile etc), with a radiobutton
next to each one so they can select one of the phone numbers.
For example, if the list of names were like so:
Bob
James
Fred
and they clicked on James, it would "split" to reveal James' phone numbers:
Bob
James
0208 678 9230 (work)
0208 678 0329 (home)
Fred
Each number would have a radiobutton, so they could select one of James' numbers:
Bob
James
[o] 0208 678 9230 (work)
[o] 0208 678 0329 (home)

Does anyone here have any experience with this or have any idea how I might do
it?

I'm new to working with Flash, but I did just make a project
that uses a DataGrid (so take this advice with a grain of salt).
The main design of the grid is column-based, meaning you have
DatGridColumn objects displaying your data for you. To relocate a
row would require that every one of your columns moves their
element number i to the new location, j, and bump all the
interceding values by one.
I do not believe this functionality is built-in anywhere, but
you should be able to write it by accessing the dataProvider for
the DataGrid and doing the above shuffle yourself. What I don't
know is where you plan on having the user grab in order to do this
drag. There is no RowHeader to speak of that you can grab. You
might have to change the cellRenderer of the elements in the first
column and add the drag and drop behaviors to them, but that's
beyond my current ability.

in which you choose
List = component list
Or list = object list and in the object list tab page choose component check box.
execute the report with order numner..

Is there no way to simply remove realplayer from the blocked list?

...My issue is someone disabled the realplayer extension / addon /
plug in for some ungodly reasoning due to some block list.
I'm over here cussing a blue streak at this choice of blocking,
especially when I cant goto my "add ons" area and simply click
"options/ turn on / enable etc" and what have you. Everything is greyed out thanks to an annoying block list filter.
Which, from my understanding doesnt even apply to my version of firefox. I have had realplayer on here for YEARS and it has never once caused me any problems.
And now because some one decides it causes issues with firefox version whatever, they're going to block it on a master block list for some reasoning? Tch.
Is there NO WAY to simply remove realplayer from this said block list? I know I can go into about;config and disable the -whole- list, which I dont want to do.
Cant someone make this thing a little more user friendly with the block list? Put some damn check boxes next to it so I can filter what I want.
And if someone tells me to update something or another... -twitch-

You can try to delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

Http Session combing HTML forms and List / Menu Components

My problem is the following one... I have a .jsp page that includes a form with three List / Menu Components. I want my second List / Menu Component to be filled with data depending on the selection I have made to the first List / Menu Components. (Of course there is a MYSQL database behind). And I want the third List Menu Component to be filled with data depending on the selection I have made to the second one.

Three options:
1) use incredibly large javascript arrays to hold the data for the second and third lists and use onChange events in the first and second list to alter the list contents based on selection
2) use ajax calls to fetch the data for the second and third list, still using javascript events to listen for selections.
3) do a form submit on each selection and fill the lists server side.
The third option is of course by far the easiest, but that will give you submits in between that you may not want. Ajax is a good solution to this problem in my opinion.

I have two lists. The first is "Tasks", second is "Journal". I need a "Create Journal Entry" link in the Tasks list. How do I do that?

Let's say I have a Task named "Build SSIS for Duke Energy" and it has another column called Active. Now every day I look at my task list and If I worked on that task I want to create a Journal entry of what I have done. So from the Task
list I'd like a third column that calls the "Journal Entry" list's new form page and pass it in the ID of the task. I have found several TextToHtml scripts out there, but they have to be stored in a script library, and then sourced to a content
editor web part. The problem is they don't fire when I have my list grouped. In addition to, every time someone creates a new view, I have to go in and add the Content Editor web part, point to the script....
Any thoughts. It is the grouped view that really bug me.

If you only want to add a hyperlink to create a Journal entry in the task list, I recommend to add a Hyperlink column in the task list and then create workflow to update the column.
You can follow the steps as below:
Open the task list, add a hyperlink column named Create Journal Entry.
Create a workflow associated to the task list, start the workflow automatically when an item is created.
Add actions as below:
Then when a task is created in the task list, the workflow will be stared automatically to update the “Create Journal Entry” column.

Adding caller with name and number from call list to the contact list only inserts the number and not the name

I recently bought a BlackBerry Z10 and moved my cell service to Rogers to take advantage of the name display service offered by Rogers (Fido also offers this service).
Due to the number of calls that I receive from first time clients, I wanted the name display service to help me know who was calling. Evidently it is impossible to add clients to my contact list before they call me so I'm constantly seeing numbers that have no name to help me decide if I want to answer the call.
When I try to add a caller from my call list to my contact list, only the number gets inserted in the new contact. The name needs to be entered manually.
I understand and realize that not all call display formats are the same and that it's virtually impossible to parse the first and last names from the name portion of the caller id.
However, I would like to see BlackBerry add the functionality to insert the name portion of the call entry from the caller list to a "Nickname" entry in the contact list just like it adds the number to a "Home", "Mobile", or "Work" entry in the contact list.
If a user doesn't have a name display service, there would be no change to how their contacts are added because there is no name variable to copy over.
Can someone from BlackBerry please let me know if this feature can be added to BB10 and when it can be added? For me it's an obvious feature that should just work.
I am really enjoying my Z10 but I'm feeling let down that something so logical and helpful is not supported out of the box.

It appears that you are not aware of the fact that both Rogers and Fido offer name AND number display service (although the name display feature is an add-on service) and have been offering it for many years (since 2006). Here is a link to the name display service description of each provider...

My BlackBerry Z10 shows both the name and number when someone calls (and the caller is not in my contact list).
All I would like is for the Z10 (and Q10) to support the addition of the name and number from the caller list to my contact list without me having to type the name. As I mentioned in my original post, to avoid the OS having to parse the first name and last name from the name portion of the caller list entry the name could simply be added to the contact list as a "Nickname". If your provider only has number display, nothing would have to be copied from the name variable in the caller list to the contact list.
I find it difficult to believe that BlackBerry would not be aware of this name display service since it's been around since 2006 with both Rogers and Fido.
I hope I have clarified the reasons why I would like to have this feature added to BB10 and how it's surprising that this simple feature is not already a part of the BB10 OS.
Either way, I don't think this is a difficult feature for the BlackBerry team to add. They're just copying a 2nd variable from the caller list to the contact list.
I'm surprised that Rogers hasn't asked BlackBerry to add this feature to their phones. I think it would be a popular feature for those who receive a high number of calls from first time callers.
How can I get this feature request to BlackBerry for their consideration?

How to customise the Finder, programmatically

I've long complained about the Finder's lack of a location/address bar, and since most Mac people seem to cope without it, I'm going to try to write one myself.
Could somebody please point me to the documentation for the Finder -i.e., public interfaces, etc, and how programmers can go about writing plugins/extensions to the Finder? I've searched but can't seem to find much. Folder actions aren't what I'm looking for. I want to customise the Finder so that I can add things to the top of the window myself.

Apple are very keen on their widgets but I find them annoying. Having to press F12 to access them and not being able to keep them on-screen all the time means that they just aren't a consideration for me. Even the guys from the Mac Break Weekly say that Vista's sidebar is much better, and in lieu of same on the Mac, they all prefer Yahoo widgets because at least you can have them on your desktop.
I'll agree with you that those hacks will be broken by Leopard; that's why I didn't like the idea of spending my time a) learning Objective-C and Xcode and b) designing some sort of haxie that Apple discourages and will take great delight in breaking or saying "sorry, we're not supporting your machine because of the presence of that haxie."

I am having problems with viewing flash plugins on websites. it seems that the firefox 5 is inlarging the flash piece thus skuing the image and inabling features of the flash object itself.

most important issues i am having are the following are as follows:
1) on www.alliedelec.com the main image in the flash rotating banner is skued from being enlarged.
2)http://www.alliedelec.com/eaton-control-automation/ on the bottom of the page there is a flash video player which is missing the controlbar at the bottom and cutting off the video previews on the side due to the flash oject being enlarged.
i have checked this in older versions of firefox and other browsers and ff5 is the only browser which is having an issue and one in need fixed asap.

Just keep press one back button then you will able to go back to previous list.
if you want to go to specific list then you need to use sy-lsind system variable,see the above logic

Creating a contact from the call list. Doable on the iPhone 4????

OK, recent BB convert here, a feature I use on the bb all the time was when some one called me, or I called someone, and they weren't on my contact list, I could highlight their number in the calling list, hit menu and add contact. Type in their name and done, contact created. Can you do something similar on the iPhone 4?

On the Recent Page, click the blue arrow to the right of the number.
Click Create new contact.

Lookup field to the same list - bug in IE

Hi!
I have a list and lookup field refers to the same list. If I add items with the same name, then the dropdown list for this field on the new\edit form stops functioning in IE.
Unable to get property 'split': null or undefined
core.js line 2...
In other browser everything ok. So, it seems bug in IE.
May be there some fix? Please advice

Per my understanding, there is a lookup field in the current list which lookup a filed in the same list. When add item with same name as the previous item, new/edit
form stop functioning in IE.
What version of IE in use in your environment?
I tried to reproduce this issue in IE 8+ versions, it turns out that all works without issue:

FLVPlayback 2.5 not listed in components list in Flash CS5.5

I'm using Flash CS5.5 and I want to use the Actionscript 3 FLVPlayback 2.5 component but it is not listed in components list. There is one but it's version 2.1.0.23. I've seen elsewhere screen captures show both FLVPlayback and FLVPlayback 2.5 in the components list. In the folder where the video components are stored, there are these files:
FLVPlaybackAS2.swc
FLVPlaybackAS3_2.5.swc
FLVPlaybackAS3.swc
FLVPlaybackCaptioning.swc
I assume that FLVPlaybackAS3_2.5.swc is the one I want. How do I get it to show up in the components list???
