AS9i error using a MapViewer JSP
I've installed AS with my Oracle installation. It appears to be working correctly. I've then installed MapViewer (downloaded from OTN). Everything looked good in the install. When I try to run the demo, I get the following error:
Error parsing JSP page /mapviewer/demo/mapclient.jsp
Syntax error in source
error: Invalid class file format in /usr/opt/java140/jre/lib/rt.jar(java/util/StringTokenizer.class). The major.minor '48.0' is too recent for this tool to understand.
/demo/mapclient.jsp.java:7: Class java.util.StringTokenizer not found in import.
import java.util.StringTokenizer;

my system:
Oracle 9.2.0.1.0

Thank you in advance,
Carolyn
I found the problem. Be sure to use Oracle's Java (Java 1.3) to start the MapViewer jar.

Urgent.....Error while running a jsp report from Jdeveloper
Hi,
I am getting following error while running a jsp report from Jdeveloper. I am using version 10.1.2.1.0. The same report is working fine when I am running it from report builder. ( Both these tools were installed using Oracle Developer Suite 10g version 10.1.2). I did search in oracle discussion forums and google, but I could not arrive at a resolution of error. Any help in resolving this issue would be grateful.

I just encountered an error using the BPEL console in one of our test environments. I got the error when I clicked 'Manage BPEL Domain' and then clicked the 'Threads' tab. I also get the error when I click the 'Statistics' tab. Other tabs are OK, 'Configuration', 'Logging', 'Adapter Stats'.
Note that this is happening on one test server, other dev/test servers are OK.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/TagLibraryInfoThis exception is been thrown if the given class was available in classpath during compile time, but not during run time. The solution is obvious: make sure that the given class (or at least the JAR file with the given class) is available in the classpath during run time.
By the way, why did you think that this problem is related to JSF? -
Strange error in compiling a jsp in jdev
I tried to compile a jsp using a custom jsp tag. All the requried java libraries are set in project's library path and additional path. But I got a class name used by the tag as the compiling error. No any message regarding to it. I think this may be related to the jsp compiler checking the custom tag's attribute type and tld file, but don't know how to fix it in jdev environment. Any help will be appreciated.
This is what I set in web.xml:
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>http://xmlns.oracle.com/j2ee/jsp/tld/ordim/intermedia-taglib.tld</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/intermedia-taglib.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
I set the path to the tag library jar file ordjsptag.jar in the additional path of the project. I think the compiler can find the jar file.
This tag library also uses another component of Oracle: ordim.jar and it is also in the library path of the project. I can import the class in ordim.jar from the project's jsp page. But when I compile the jsp that contains my custom tag, I got error message: "oracle.ord.im.OrdImage" which is a class name in ordim.jar. -

Connecting to MSAcess database using JDBC in JSP
Hi,
I have created an Aceess database file (C:\db1.mdb) and created a DSN=db1.
I could able to connect to the database and retrieve the information from the tables using Sun's JDBC OdBc bridge drivers.
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:db1").
It was working Fine in my Standalone java program.
But,when I used the database connection statements in my JSP page,it is not displaying any error message and not selecting rows from the Select statement i used in my JSP page.(The same worked in my standalone Java program).
I executed the two programs on same machine.Database is also on the same machine.
Can anyone tell me what shall i do to connect to the database(C:\db1.mdb) through JSP.
Thanks in Advance
Rao...in your code do you have any things that is suppressing your exception?? i.e. something lik
try
// do your stuff
catch(Exception e)
// do nothing??
}if so you vont get to know of any problem that happened....
also if there is an un handled exception the jsp page will sometimes come up as blank, because your print streem will be terminated abrubtly....
this will probably happen if you dont have a try - catch block at all, or if you are not handling the exception that is being thrown.... try inclosing your code in a try catch block and doing ex.priintStackTrace() in the catch block to get the exception trace on the server console....
also can you post some code for both your java client and jsp?? -
Using SQLJ from JSP in JDeveloper
Hello,
Has anyone succeeded in creating a JSP file by using SQLJ in JDeveloper 3.1 (Build 681)?
In the whitepaper http://technet.oracle.com/docs/tech/java/servlets/jsp/whitepapers/jsp-oow99-paper.pdf
it is stated that you can create an SQLJ-JSP by giving the JSP file the .sqljsp extension. This results in an "Fatal error: compiler internal error." in JDeveloper.
In the same whitepaper, it is stated that you can also use the following JSP page directive to create an SQLJ-JSP page:
"<%@ page language="sqlj" %>"
This results in an "Error: (16) illegal character." error in JDeveloper at the mere sight of "#sql".
Any help would be appreciated.
HelgiHi,
there is something wrong with the code.
I will update you when it is fixed

I have a simple example for using Beans in JSP and the problem is that i get this error: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /BeanCounter.jsp(8,0) The value for the useBean class attribute Counter is invalid.
The program's ideea is to count how many times i've accesed the bean
This is the code: (i'm using Apache Tomcat 5.5)
My bean (Counter):
import java.io.Serializable;
public class Counter implements Serializable{
int count = 0;
public Counter() {
public int getCount() {
count++;
return this.count;
public void setCount(int count) {
this.count = count;
and the code for BeanCounter.jsp :
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>JSP Bean Example</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<%@ page language="java" %>
<jsp:useBean id="counter" scope="session" class="Counter" /> //i guess that here is the problem but i don't have a package or anything else
<jsp:setProperty name="counter" property="count" param="count" />
<%
out.println("Count from scriptlet code : "
+ counter.getCount() + "<BR>");
%>
<!-- Get the bean's count property, -->
<!-- using the jsp:getProperty action. -->
Count from jsp:getProperty :
<jsp:getProperty name="counter" property="count" /><BR>
</BODY>
</HTML>
The Counter.class is in WEB-INF/classes
I just cannot understand why it doesn't work. Please help :) Thanks in advanceSo put your class in a package, and it should work fine.
package mypackage;
import java.io.Serializable;
import java.io.Serializable;
public class Counter implements Serializable {
int count = 0;
public Counter() {
public int getCount() {
count++;
return this.count;
public void setCount(int count) {
this.count = count;
}and in your JSP:
<jsp:useBean id="counter" scope="session" class="mypackage.Counter" />
The class then moves to be WEB-INF/classes/mypackage/Counter.class
Also, your original post was missing a closing '}' on the Counter class. -
Challenging: Importing HTTPClient into a JavaBean used in a JSP
I have a BankBean.class file, which I'm using in a JSP, main.jsp. The BankBean.java file contains the line:
import HTTPClient.*;
I have the following directory structure:
jeff
-->pc
----->door
-------->main.jsp
-->WEB-INF
----->classes
-------->pc
----------->BankBean.java
----------->BankBean.class
----------->\HTTPClient
-------------->HTTPClient classes
I successfully compile the BankBean.java to create the BankBean.class. However, when I call the main.jsp I receive the following jsp compile error:
Package HTTPClient not found in import.
import HTTPClient.*;
^
1 error
THE JSP IS NOT COMPILING.
NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
*The HTTPClient folder resides in the same directory as the JavaBean.java and JavaBean.class files.
*The JavaBean.java file compiles successfully to create the JavaBean.class file.
I don't understand how the bean can compile successfully, but the JSP cannot compile. Please help!!!
Thanks!Adding the following:
import pc.HTTPClient.*;
failed.
It seemed logical, but didn't work.
After working on it for a few hours, I finally got it to work by moving the HTTPClient directory up from the pc directory into the classes directory with the other class directories. The successful directory structure is the following:
-->pc
----->door
-------->main.jsp
-->WEB-INF
----->classes
-------->pc
----------->BankBean.java
----------->BankBean.class
-------->\HTTPClient
----------->HTTPClient classes
Thanks for the help, though. It did get me thinking in the right direction. -
Hi
i am going to develop a DI COM viewer in web.
so that it uses lot of shared libraries (.dll).
i tried JNI with servlet it works fine.
but when i try to load a same DLL for another page it gives an error saying
".dll loaded in another class loader"
So that i tried to write JNI wrapper as a component using java beans.
and i can use as multiple instances.
package BeanDir;
import java.util.*;
//This file must be compiled Manually using javac
//cd D:\tomcat\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes\BeanDir\mysimplebean.java
public class mysimplebean
static
System.loadLibrary("HelloWorld");
public String getceoname()
String ceonameval = "Tom Hanks CEO of Tom Hanks INC";
return ceonameval;
public String ceoemail()
String ceoemailval = "[email protected]";
return ceoemailval;
public double findtakehome(int salary,String designation)
double takehomeamt;
if(designation=="Developer")
takehomeamt = salary+salary*0.15; //15 % Raise in Salary
else
takehomeamt = salary+salary*0.10; //10 % Raise in Salary
return takehomeamt;
public native String sayHello();
}Then i added the Java bean in JSP:
<%@ page import = "BeanDir.mysimplebean" %>
<jsp:useBean
id="mybeanid"
class="BeanDir.mysimplebean"
scope="session"/>
<jsp:setProperty
name="mybeanid"
property="*"/>

Apache Tomcat/6.0.20Hi friends,
i got the solution for using JNI in JSP.
But not with Javabean
I created a class that loads the library and define the native method.
import the above said class package in your JSP program
create the object for the class
access the native method with that object.
copy your .dll file in system32 folder
if you have declared package in java program change the method according to that
other wise you will get unsatisfied link error
for ex
package sam.jni;
import java.io.*;
public class Helloworld
static
static.loadlibrary("HelloWorld");
public native String sayHello();
}Method name in your c++ program looks like
JNIEXPORT jstring JNICALL Java_sam_jni_HelloWorld_sayHello
(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj) {
return env->NewStringUTF("krishnakumar"); -

I have no idea what this means, or whether it is a problem. Does anyone know what this is?
Thanks.I see the same thing and have done for some time. The actual file is being saved back. etc. So, in that respect both Lr and Ps are working fine. IOW, ignore it.
