ASCP Instance Setup

Hi,
I am in a position to do Setups for ASCP instance
Environment : Decentralized Environment
Number of Organization : One
I did Database Link properly and Attached the current Organization in the Organizations in the (N) Admin>Instances.
Further when I launch the Data collection process (Complete Refresh), it ends with Phase = Inactive; Status=No Manager error.
How to activate the manager in ASCP instance?
And Please suggest me what are all the other Initial setups I need to do.
Your Answer will be most appreciable.
Regards,
Ramesh

Dear Sandeep,
Thank you very much,
When I checked the "Standard Manager" in the System Administrator Responsibility, It was not Activated.
I tried to activate but It doesn't activated, then that was activated by DBA level.. Then Standard Manager is working fine now.
But After this,
When I launched "Planning ODS Load", this set is launching the concurrent program "Generate Items and Category Sets Keys".
The concurrent "Generate Items and Category Sets Keys" completed with the below Error.

  • ASCP Instance setup - DB LInk Creation in decentralized configuration

I came across this question on setting up the APS for decentralized configuration and really couldn't find why? The question was why do we need to create two DB links (One in Source for destination db and other one in destination for source db) and can we setup ASCP instance by creating only one DB Link, either at destination or at source?
    Thanks
    Madhavi

    Hello,
The reason for this is that there is 2 way communication for the planning products.
On the planning instance the dblink is required when you run collections and release recommendations from the workbench (amongst other actions)
on the source, when you perform for instance an ATP inquiry, data is being read from the aps instance.
This is the design of ASCP. Both links are required.

  • Error when Trying to Run Concurrent Request on ASCP Instance

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue when trying to run custom concurrent program in ASCP production.
    The error message is:
    oracle error 20001
    ORA-20001: APP-FND-02901
You do not have access privilege to any operating unit. Please check if your profile option MO: Security Profile includes any operating unit or the profile option MO: Operating Unit is set has been detected in MO_GLOBAL.INIT
I have searched through metalink regarding this issue and the solution is I should define the "MO: Security Profile" and "MO: Operating Unit" profiles.
But the problem is my ASCP instance is not have any OU, it just defined for Inv Orgs. So, when I tried to define the profile, the LOV is empty.
FYI, in my ASCP dev instance is working fine. I can run my concurrent request into it.
In this instance, the profiles of "MO: Security Profile" and "MO: Operating Unit" are blank too.
    From this node:

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Hello Rheza,
We are also facing the same issue in Self Service HR, We also do not have any Operating Unit setup.
We are trying to run seeded "Active Users" concurrent program. Are you sure without setup of MO: Security Profile / MO: Operating Unit, It will work?

  • Centralized ASCP Instance

    Gurus,
    We have a 11.5.10 CU2 (9208-RAC/PCP) instance running SCM_PF.J
Management is planning to implement APS/Demand Planning. I have worked in distributed environments where we have a source ERP instance and a target ASCP instance and do a data pull via DB link and run collection/memory based planner programs.
However, management wants to consider the idea of running both in a single environment/instance since its theoretically possible.
-- Can someone share your views on the gotchas of this setup?
-- I am aware that the planner programs are resource intensive. Is there a benchmark of the hardware capacity needed for this setup?
-- Is Express server extinct now or do we still need it ?
-- What are the extra patches that we need for this implementation.Any general docs/papers concentrating on the architecture ?
-- Any special considerations for RAC ?
    Regards,
    Arun

Since you have PCP, you have everything you need for RAC'd ASCP. Just create a Standard Manager 1 and Standard Manager 2, and use include/exclude to force the ASCP processes onto one node:

Express server has been obsoleted in 11.5.10. Oracle Demand Planning uses the OLAP engine in 9i or higher databases. Oracle will charge you additional licenses fees for database OLAP if you use Oracle Demand Planning, even though you already purchased Oracle Demand Planning licenses. You can however implement Oracle Demantra Demand Planning which does not use the OLAP engine. There was a one for one license swap from Oracle Demand Planning to Oracle Demantra Demand Planning, but I would check with your Account Representative to make sure.

A Centralized ASCP/DP instance is simpler in a non-RAC environment. I have a RAC customer that recently switched from Centralized RAC 11.5.10.2 to decentralized with the planning instance on HP-UX 64-bit and the source instance on 64-bit Linux. This enabled them to move away from PCP since they were on ATG.H RUP 4 and could use Queues in stead of Pipes for transaction manager communication via the Concurrent:TM Transport Type profile option:

  • How to get DFF data from ERP to ASCP instance using collections

    Hi Everyone,
I have requirement that there is DFF fields defined in ERP on resource definition. I need to collect this DFF fields data information and use in ASCP instance. Is anybody worked on similar requirement or is there any possibility for getting DFF data using collection program.
    Thanks,
    Suresh

In IHPA you will only get the KUNNR field, KNA1-KUNNR = IHPA-PARNR+0(10) for adequate partner function of course. For the other keys of KNVV you will have to look in the master table of the maintenance object (Look at IHPA-OBTYP or at first two characters of IHPA-OBJNR to get the object type)
e.g. maintenance order (OBTYP = 'ORI', OBJNR begins with OR) in AUFK
    * From order main table AUFK
      AUFK-OBJNR = IHPA-OBJNR.
    * then order header AFIH
      AFIH-AUFNR = AUFK-AUFNR.
    * then localization in ILOA
      ILOA-ILOAN = AFIH-ILOAN.
    * Then KNVV
      KNVV-KUNNR = IHPA-PARNR+0(10).
      KNVV-VKORG = ILOA-VKORG.
      KNVV-VTWEG = ILOA-VTWEG.
      KNVV-SPART = ILOA-SPART.

  • Best Practices for CS6 - Multi-instance (setup, deployment and LBQ)

    Hi everyone,
We recently upgraded from CS5.5 to CS6 and migrated to a multi-instance server from a single-instance. Our current applications are .NET-based (C#, MVC) and are using SOAP to connect to the InDesign server. All in all it is working quite well.
Now that we have CS6 (multi-instance) we are looking at migrating our applications to use the LBQ features to help balance the workload on the INDS server(s). Where can I find some best practices for code deployment/configuration, etc for a .NET-based platform to talk to InDesign?
We will be using the LBQ to help with load management for sure.
Thanks for any thoughts and direction you can point me to.

  • Automating OC4J Instance Setup

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to help with a simple query? Our company has recently upgraded to using OAS 10.1.3.4.0 for the latest version of our product. We distribute this to all our customers, and so have many installations to do as part of this upgrade. I've written scripts and response files to enable the installation to be quicker, but I'm looking at using the admin_client.jar to do the setup of OC4J containers for the application.
In the documentation I have found how to set up shared, libraries, JMS queues, etc, but I have some questions:
    1. Is it possible to include server properties anywhere in an automated script, or deployment plan (i.e -D parameters, heap size, etc)?
    2. Is it also possible to specify JSP properties, and transaction manager properties in a deployment plan?
    3. I can specify adding JMS queues as part of an admin_tool.jar script, but is it possible to put these in the deployment plan or EAR file too? This would make it easier to change them with subsequent releases.
I hope this is clear, and someone may be able to help with these questions.
    thanks,
    Chris

  • Setup of ASCP centralized

Been A DBA for a while but new to EBS and R12. We have R12 that was built as and OBA. We need to configure/setup ASCP centralized. I've found several documents on setting up ASCP decentralized but not the steps to set up centralized. Does anyone have the steps to configure the setup of a centralized ASCP config?

The only difference is that when you are setting up the ASCP instance (ASCP administrator > instances), you don't have to enter db_link information.
    Everything else should be same.

Using administrator responsibility, first create 2 instance partitions.
Then using the instances screen, create the 2 instances. Make sure you have setup the db links prior to that.
Then assign appropriate orgs to the 2 instances.
After that, the remaining setups (such as DC, defining plans etc.) should be repeated for instances.

I am having problems getting the Sun Java plug-in to work
when attempting to use the Browse Server button within the CF

We are using CFMX 7.0.1 with the Sun Java plug-in 1.5.0_06.
Anyone else experience this problem before?

First, you need to get off of Java 1.5 and back to 1.4.2. 1.5

Secondly, you need to make sure RDS is enabled on all of your

The error seems to be db connect error, so please try to check
    1. set the environment variable dbs_ora_schema=SAP<SID>
    dbs_ora_tnsname=SID
    EG :
    dbms_type=ORA

Where HX1 is the SID for instance.
    2. start the database and then try running the installation.try also starting instance and listener
Let me know if this helps.

  • DI Server - Cannot connect to named instance SQL server database

    Hi,
I have developed a small DI server application and want to migrate it to a production server. I keep on getting the Cannot connect to SBOCommon error on login though. I have verified all user names and passwords and the only real difference is that the production environment uses a named instance SQL server eg server\instance setup.
The production DI server will however connect perfectly to the test database (which is NOT a named instance) .
Anyone using DI server against a named instance SQL server or have some other ideas what might cause this?
I use B1WS 1.0 and the version of SBO is 8.00.181..
    Jaco

I may have solved the problem, at least partially.
I created a test user with full rights on my test database server and it would also not connect, even though my test database is not a an instance setup.
Then I found this thread  [Re: DI Server Always Uses SA to log into MS SQL database even if SOAP packet]
It seems that at my current patch level the user 'sa' is hard coded into the DI server as sql username! I don't have the production server's 'sa' user credentials at present but will test it on Monday. Will also test against 8.8 soon ..

  • Can we run parallel data collections to collect multiple source instance.

    Hi,
We have a business requirement where we will have multiple Source(ERP) instance and single Destination(ASCP) instance. We would like to check if we will be able to run Data collections in parallel to collect multiple EPR instance in the same time window. This is to reduce the total planning process time duration as following data collections we will be required to run multiple plan runs.
Please help me with your expert comments

You may instead use Continuous collections to save on time so it can run collections from both instances periodically throughout the day thereby reducing a single timespan to collect all the data.
